The Times Online are reporting that J.K. Rowling's agents have requested an advance copy of Steve Vander Ark's newest book,
In Search of Harry Potter, a travel guide, prior to it being published.
The book deals with locations that the author believes to have inspired Jo in her writing of the
Harry Potter novels - he even claims to have found the location of Hogwarts.
The check is being carried out to ensure that, unlike the
Harry Potter Lexicon, it does not breach copyright laws. The book is due out next month, published by
Methuen.
Quote:
“This is my own writing about my own experiences and I can’t imagine there will be any problem with this book,” he [Steve] said.
Peter Tummons, managing director of the publishers Methuen, said: “This is a travel book . . . written in full by himself after his travels . . . There is nothing in it that would cause any distress.”
