Bloc Party are a band. And I think that's possibly the make-up because in the full scan, it looks like he's in his trailer on one of the film sets. So, that'd explain it.

^ Yeah but the majority of filming time has been in the Autumn and Winter. In the UK we haven't seen sun strong enough to create a tan since August!

It's in Austrian, I think. My guess is it's either a birthmark, or a 'scar' he received from filming. They also pointed out some spanish and history books on his shelves which are presumably for school.
Yeah, the 'sunny' months we get are generally June to August. The rest of the time it's mainly miserable. Nobody keeps a tan long in this country, unless they use artifical methods.

 thats very cool for dan ,if not slightly surprising, i woulda thought maybe emma or gary oldman would have been first in line for awards, but then again i would have also thought it was all about the snape!  yay where is the oscar nom for snape?or the golden globe?or for that matter, the world :evillaugh hehe................i'll stop now.................. snape....... snaaaaaaape............
