| | | Chris Rankin: Percy is a "nasty piece of work"
In a new interview with Surrey Online, Chris Rankin has spoken about his character, Percy Weasley, in regards to ' Order of the Phoenix' as well as reflecting on his experiences in the Potter franchise. Quote:
"Over the course of the films, he's [Percy's] gone from being a stuck-up, poncey prefect to quite a nasty piece of work," says Rankin.
"My character didn't appear in the last film but, when he makes his return in the next one, he starts to become really obnoxious.
"By that stage, of course, he's working for the Ministry of Magic and he's become so power-hungry that he'll step on anyone to get where he wants.
"And let's just say that the Minister for Magic, Mr Crouch, has his shoes well and truly kissed!"
Chris also talks about what he'd like to see happen to Percy in the last book; "Obviously, for my part, I'm hoping that Percy's descent into evil will continue, and by the end, he'll be Voldemort's second in command, or something like that."

I think that Percy has lost his way and eventually he will come back to his senses.. I don't know if he will be given a second chance to make things right or if it will be too late for him to apologise. His parents will forgive him of course but i don't see him with Voldemort in any case.. He suffers from a severe case of arrogance.
Now as for the films, forgive me for saying that after the disappointment i experienced with the Goblet (as far as following the original plot is concerned) i can't say i'm really looking forward to it. I suspect it will be a bigger 'slaughter' since this book is bigger than the Goblet. However, there is a new director now, so we'll see what he can do with such rich plot.
I like the way the actors grow up and develop in every film, i'm proud of them actually, and i guess since i'm such a big supporter i'll always watch the films and buy the DVD's. i wish i knew how J.K Rowling feels about them though.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Tonksamelia (Tonks) for short. Third | I cannot wait to see how he reacts to his family in the next movie coming up. This is deffinately going to be an action packed film. Percy is turning on his family, and Ron becoming a prefect just like Percy was...I know if I were his mother I'd be scared he'd end up the same as Percy. Percy is not being a very good role-model to his younger brothers.

That man certainly has style. I adore the way he puts Percy into words. Quote:
"Obviously, for my part, I'm hoping that Percy's descent into evil will continue, and by the end, he'll be Voldemort's second in command, or something like that.
Isn't that what I'm hoping too? I think he sees the attraction in an evil Percy, just like me.

I think Percy is great his character makes you wonder if he will go to "the dark side" later because he wants power in a sense through structure

I really don't like Percy anymore after I read book 5. He is a brut! But J.K. put him that way for a purpose. Maybe he'll help Harry instead of helping the Ministry try to expell him.

I'm personally kinda sad that Percy has become so vile. The Weasleys have been developed as such a wonderfully warm and caring family, but now there's Percy there to ruin that. (At least to some extent) Oh well, I suppose that there's always got to be 1 in the family...maybe Ron will eventually rise up and put hime back in his place! That would be an interesting twist, don't you think?
