Anna Friel, the partner of David Thewlis (Lupin in the Potter movies), has declared that she'd "...absolutely love to play Tonks." in ' Order of the Phoenix'. Quote:

Don't know. It was meant to start in Autumn so possibly yes.
I think she'd be really good. She's about the right age and it'd be funny to see her and David onscreen together.

I can't say she probably wouldn't play her part right, especially in HBP, since David Thewlis is her husband. But she's not quite what I imagined Tonks to look like. Even though, whoever they cast will have to have dyed hair.

I think the costumes and the hair are going to be really big parts of 'picturing' someone as Tonks. I also think it will be how her personality comes through. I don't know what Anna is like, but sure, I'd like to see how she does.

I've honestly never seen her act, so I won't say anything against her really. But yeah, Emma, I enjoy seeing people who are dating/married/parterned/whatever get jobs together, it's pretty interesting, and fun. Even close friends are good. thats when they seem to have a chemistry together that can't be faked.

I think she'd so well, I mean make up artists and hair stylists are pros at making people look different so I think she could be made to look at bit younger (not that she looks old or anything but in the book Tonks is much younger then Lupin). Yeah I think she'd do nicely.
