'make sure you bet him in every test, Rosie. Thank God you inherited your mother's brain.' That was real cute.
i think having an epilogue was better than nothing. Even though it was a little too perfect.

Hogwarts RPG Name: marie | I know the epilogue seemed over perfect and cheesy but ater all of the tragedies that have occured not only in DH but throughout the entire series, i think that harry, and the rest of the wizarding world for that matter, deserve peace and harmony and as cheesy as it may be- a happy ending.
I have to admit that i couldn't be happier with the outcome. i know there were losses but the series ends on such a euphoric note. It was rounded out perfectly and i loved the idea that after all they had been through, Harry and his friends were finally able to be happy and enjoy the world to which they belonged.
i do wish however, that there could have been some mention to the order of the reast of the wizarding world and how it repaired itself after voldemorts demise. Also, i'm curious to who now governs hogwarts, what happened to the rest of the characters, such as the weasleys and hagrid, who is the new minister for magic and what harry, ron, hermione and ginny do as a perfession. i would also like to find out what happened to the dealth eaters although i'm sure they are safely back in azkaban. |

It was an ending that surely ended the series
But it just didnt seem enough..A bit Mediocre..but i guess thats how it was suppose to be...Average, to show how everything went back to normal

I personaly feel that in general Epilogues are a sign for the end, this one had a look of not closure but openness to me and made you see that it had worked and that it was to no avail and Voldemort was still dead.

I too, felt it was a little too much like fanfiction. Of the whole book with all the deaths and blood and foul language, the epilogue was the only part that felt to me like it was written for children.
I suppose i just wasn't expecting such a happy ending? I dunno. Ron and Hermione should have named their son Fred, IMO.
I SO AGREE!!! Way to childish for such a full to the rim adult book.
Plus, someone should have named one of their kids Fred. It's just not right for Harry to name the kids after his parents and people he loved for A fallen Weasley to not have been in their. UGH!

| It was horrible. Maybe it's my own fault for speculating too much, for building it up, for coming to my own conclusions.........but it was weak, it was disappointing and it was too sugary. I'm going to be a diva now but I feel really let down, nothing has ended for me, I honestly believe that JK couldn't let Harry go, so she held on and........well..........I'm not happy.......... |

| I still can't believe Harry and Ginny named one of their kids Albus Severus...that part was a little too cliche for me. If you think about it, this kid is living in the 21 century with a name like Albus.
Not only that, that's what JK did through out the whole book. Everyone was named after a relative or close friend...I guess she did that to make it easier to come up with names. Quote:

True, very true...but not everyone had a happy ending. Sirius spent 12 years of his life in Azkaban and he spent the last two years of his life in hiding. Remus and Tonks died and left a very young son behind. So not everyone had a perfectly happy ending. Fred's life was cut short and he didn't marry or anything... |

Personally I think the epilogue spoilt what was a good ending. It seemed like it hadn't been polished in the 17 years since Jo had first written it. What it told us was nothing we couldn't have assumed - and there were glaring omissions, such as Luna and the careers of the kids. This may have been purposefully done, to let fans decide, but then that destroys the point of having an epilogue in the first place. The worst thing about it though has to be the over-use of dedicatory names. I really loved Deathly Hallows, but I personally could've done without this chapter.

I loved everything that happened BUT the epilogue...i don't know why, but i really think that the epilogue was really extracted from a fan fiction i've read somewhere in the internet...it was too perfect...short and fast...i was imagining her giving the endings of all the characters....especially Luna....although Teddy and Albus were cute...hehe...i was crying to death at chapter 36...and when i read the epilogue...i was rather disappointed that i was excited about it before...really... The last book is my fave though...even if the ending was... i dont wanna say it... nuff said...hehe...

The epilogue was too shorrt in my honest opionon and was probably the most dissapointing chapter of the entire book.
Its great how JK showed that finally after so many hard times and so many losses that Harry finally something good was to come out and finally he was to experience what it was like to have a family. It explained Ron and Hermione very well producing those silly comments we often hear from Ron with Hermione correcting him.
To me this should have been spread over a couple of chapters (20 year span)maybe explaining about the Rebuilding of Hogwats and the Ministry of Magic going through each of the key people in book and closing with Albus going on the train. The last paragraph in the book is exactly how the book should have ended and I commend JK Rowling for that.
I however still would love to know what happened with
Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny... Did Harry finally become a Aura like he always wanted? What did Hermione, Ron and Ginny end up becomming occupation wise?
The Dursley's, did harry make contact with them ever again? Petunia/Dudley seem to finally understand that Harry was not a freak.
What happened with George, the life long ambition of the twins was to open a Joke Shop.... Did George / Lee continue this business?
Kingsley Shacklebolt while he was announced Temporary Minister for Magic... is he now the Minister and if not, who is?
Bill and Fluer Weasley did they have kids, if so is that Victorie that Ted is dating?
Did Ted take on the traights that Lupin had or maybe did he have a strong taste for raw meat?
Luna Lovegood.... what happened to her, I am totally perplexed as to why she was not mentioned at all?
Professor Mogonagal, did she end up assuming the Headmaster of Hogwarts again?
Hagrid, did he and the giantess end up getting together... we only hear that he is having tea with albus a week after the first day back.
So many characters either got the tinyest or not mentioned at all... I hope that JK has plans for another book that will explain the wizarding world. I don't wish to see another Harry Potter and the.... as I think the adventures of Harry Potter has been explained.

But I do feel the general public hasn't liked it. They want nothing or more. So I'm sure she'll have to write something else. She left it too open, to not write more.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Mackayla Dawson Fourth Year | I'm kind of caught between loving it and not loving it. I adored Hermione and Ron's two children and Harry and Ginny's seemed nice but the whole being-named-after-the-dead think kind of creeped me out. It was a very kind thing to do, don't get me wrong, but I feel bad for Albus, James, and Lily. Buuut I laughed when James starting going crazy over Teddy and Victoire (I think she's Fleur and Bill's daughter, but I'm not sure). I expected it to be longer. It was nice but too perfect- I'm in the middle. |

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.
I loved the epliogue; it was a nice way to end the series...and I can imagine all the fics that will come pouring out soon over it. And namiing Albus after Snape and DD was wonderful I teared up at that name. It sounds weird though Albus Severus Potter? But mystical in a strange way too.
It also showed that the world had changed in the last 19 years, we caught a small whiff of it, and I can imagine a small friendship from Harry and Draco, after all Harry saved Dracos life plenty of times.

I am sorry but I didn't like it very much I found it to be the must disappointing . I mean I am glad that Harry & Ginny - Ron & Hermione got together and had children. Yet what about everyone else? What happen to Luna, the rest of the Weasley’s, the Dudley’s, and so on. Where is Harry and Ron working?
There was so many questions that was not answered. So instead of making it seem all tied up it just left the gap bigger.

| All was well.
I liked it. For me it has had explain just how peaceful the Wizarding World is or has been.
I love when Ron said that he's extrememly famous.. It made me laugh.
Albus Severus. I know. It's great of Haryy to name his son after Snape.
Epilogue. It was too short for me even though I loved th ending. I wished JK could've added more, updated us more to what has happened to the erst of the characters. but still.. Im contented.
