SPOILER!!: Tish <3 Opening night was in June. It was June now wasn't it? Guh. His lack of knowledge about what his children were up to made him cringe. “I'll be there.” He said softly. “We can all go together as a family. It'll be nice.” And Willow would be over the moon to see them all together. He waited for Egypt to order, then he followed suit and his stomach rumbled in anticipation. The smells coming from the kitchen were wonderful. “I hope you're going to have a dessert too.” He smiled. “It all looks delicious.” The conversation then took a nosedive from polite small talk to the subject that Nate was trying with all his might to avoid. He grimaced as Egypt came out with the direct truth about how she was feeling. He shook his head and swallowed nervously. His stomach gave a lunge, and with that, his appetite was gone. He was going to have to be honest with her. It was going to hurt like hell. It hurt him just to think about it. He picked up his whiskey and downed it in one, feeling the burn of the muggle drink that wasn't all that different from the fiery wizarding version he was so fond of. He took a breath and reached out for her hand. “...Please, love... Please understand that I still love you. I do. But... things.." He sighed tiredly. "..they aren't what they were before, are they?” He wanted to look away, but he kept his eyes on hers, ignoring the sting in them as he spoke in barely more then a whisper. “I'm – I'm trying desperately to get back what we had. The spark we had – your mother has extinguished it. It's gone out, Egypt.” That was the real reason he hadn't moved home. His heart hurt so much when he thought of what they had, and how things were now; how if Egypt and the kids hadn't left he probably wouldn't be feeling this way, but he just couldn't help his own heart. He had been hurt so, so much. “But I'm trying, love.. I'm really, really trying. Tonight was supposed to be an attempt to rekindle that flame..” Oh god. Deep breath. Well that was bound to put a dampener on the evening. She wanted the truth.. and now she had it. He looked at Egypt with a pained look in his tired eyes. He did love her – she'd had bared seven of his children.. how could he not? He just needed time. He needed Egypt to understand that. People reacted in different ways to situations.. and this had been a LIFE changing situation. He'd gone from being happily married with a large family to being alone for an entire year... and it had taken him almost that to adjust to being alone; now he had to get used to being a father and husband again. Maybe he was being dreadfully selfish. Maybe it would be easier for all if he just moved back regardless of what his heart was telling him. He just didn't know what to do. |
She took a sip of her water. "Well regardless Ben and Devon are happy in their oatmeal baths and its keep them from scratching so I'm over the moon about that." They had driven her crazy before she took them to the doctors. Though the stuff got everywhere and it was like a edible glue. "The owls like eating up their mess though," she giggled. Goliath was all to happy to hop around the oatmeal eating at his leisure. Opening night was actually in two weeks. Egypt had gotten matching outfits made for the whole family. It was silly but she had done it. "Willow will be so happy to see you there," in fact the whole family would be happy. "You want us to go as a family?" she asked making sure she heard him correctly. Dessert did sound good and some of the selections were calling her name from the kitchen. "I think a chocolate souffle sounds really nice." And with that she was going to get one. She hoped he didn't think that she just wanted to sit there and have chit chat all night. This was the first time they had been alone and she was going to talk to her husband and see where his head was at. She would have preferred a more private place, but he had asked and she would have gone to the ends of the earth for him. She felt the little squeeze as he grabbed her hand. Egypt held his gaze not letting him look away. "We can get it back right?" she pleaded. She wasn't going to let go of her husband nor her family without a fight. She was going to hyperventilate. He was going to tell her that he was divorcing her. "Don't let her do this to us Nathan, please. You are the other half of my soul, my perfect match. Our love is stronger than her." A few tears slid down her cheek as she looked at him. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Nathan was beaten and he was letting her mother kill their marriage. She couldn't look at him anymore and she dropped her gaze and pulled her hand back. It hurt to be so close to him and yet to far away. "We're trying too Nathan," she didn't know if she could do this. She wanted to fight but it seemed like Nathan had already given up. "Have you given up on me? On your family?" His answer to that question would determine where they were going. He wanted time, he wanted them to understand him being selfish, but were they supposed to sit back and twiddle their thumbs while he decided if he wanted to come back home to them? What happened to them when he figured he was better off without them? Why was he being this way? She didn't understand it at all and she frankly didn't know if she wanted to understand it. On top of the pain they all suffered, he was keeping them in limbo and in pain. The atmosphere around the house had totally changed. She didn't know how many times she could stand there and watch her children cry when she told them their father wasn't coming home tonight. She looked at him, at the pained expression in his eyes. She was hurting too. His children were hurting. |

"I think I'll have water," If he drank, he probably would get stuffed. Which wasn't good, since he had ordered a hamburger. And he didn't want to be too full when they we're done... Noooooo. |
Quote:
"You seem like a guy who always watches what they eat," she teased and smirked at him. Abilee didn't have to watch what she ate, but she wish she did most of the time. |
Quote:
"Yup, always," Jesper said and nodded, smirking back. Usually when he was at a restaurant, he'd just order in something he felt like eating, and if he didn't like it, order in something new. "Maybe I'll have a French Toast too if I don't like the burger," He said, actually being serious. |
Quote:
"No wonder you're so fit. I'm guessing you work out as well," Now Abilee couldn't really believe that came out her mouth. Oh well, she already said it and it was now done. "Psssh. Better not be MY French toast!" |
Quote:
Jesper grinned. A compliment! Wow, and applaud for Jesper. "Well, I walk the dog," Jesper grinned even WIDER. How that was even possible. "I'll order my own," He said and smirked. But that was only in case he didn't like the burger. but you never knew what those crazy muggles could make. |
Quote:
"Walking a dog gets you fit...?" she questioned and gave a confused look. If it did, she should start walking dogs then. Abilee needed to be more than just skin and bones. BLEH. "Good! I don't plan on sharing!" she stuck out her tongue at him and smirked. |
Quote:
"Well, if you go for long walks, yeah," Jesper grinned. "You could go with me sometime, if you want," No taking back now. But he meant it, it was pretty boring going alone. And Abilee would be his first pick, anyay. Not that he had many OTHER picks except for guy-friends. Oh gosh, he could barely make sense of his own thoughts... Anyway, he hoped she'd want to go with him sometime. |

"So, do you go on long walks on the beach with your dog?" She couldn't help the laugh and picture it in her head. Abilee was such a silly girl. But Jesper now asked her if she wanted to join him one day. Awwwww. Blush Blush. "I think I'll take you up on that offer," Abilee smiled. |
Quote:
"Sometimes to the beach," Jesper chuckled. Sometimes to Diagon Alley, and sometimes elsewhere. Anywhere there was calm. So he mostly went to Diagon Alley when all the school-kids weren't running around. "Then it's--" Wow, was he just about to say 'Then it's a date'??????? "Decided," He smiled. Phew, that was lucky... Unless Abilee felt.. Ugh, never mind. |
Quote:
"How cuteeeeeeee. Walking your dog on the beach, you must catch a lot of attention," she smirked and smiled at the same time. But Abilee pictured herself with Jesper and his dog, walking on the beach. Abilee shook her head and sat upright again. The waitress had finally come with their food and set it down. "Thank you," Abilee smiled. "Then it's decided," She repeated and smirked at Jesper again. Hmmm... |
Quote:
Jesper looked up thankfully as the waitress came with the food. Thank god, he was STARVING. And yes, they had picked the biggest and most expensive one, but it was still food, and so Jesper started eating. Attention? Well, Jesper really didn't notice if he was catching attention. Now that he thought about it, maybe he did. But Jesper, Abilee and the dog DEFINATLEY would. They'd probably look like a couple. Which honestly, Jesper didn't mind. He took a VERYYYY deep breath. "Then it's a date," Out. He couldn't take those words back. But he didn't want to, so why did he care? He flashed a smile at Abilee, and prepared for her response. |
Quote:
"So now it's a date? Hmmm, I like it," She smiled and drank her water to help the piece that almost made it back up. "Alright Mr. Jesper, it's a date," |
Chloe stood outside the restaurant in the setting sun. Asher must have had to work a little bit over because he wasn't here to meet Chloe for their dinner date yet. It was nice, still going out for dinner dates even though they lived in the same house and could eat dinner at the same table if they wished. Chloe enjoyed still dressing up for him and making herself look cute for their dates. Standing outside, she just wanted patiently, looking up and down the street for him. |

"Yup. Dateeee," Jesper said, wiping away some of his nerves by grinning. Grinning helped a lot, which was probably why Jesper grinned pretty much ALL THE TIME. No joke. "So I hope you like dogs then, cause mine's a wild one," She'd better be warned. Most people liked playful dogs, but sometimes Jesper's got a bit TOO excited. |

SPOILER!!: <33 Of course he as going to see his daughter in the play. He wouldn't miss it for the world. He was taken aback that Egypt was so surprised that he said he would go with the whole family. It hurt that she thought so little of him. It wasn't as if he didn't visit nearly every day.. or take the kids out and do whatever he could to help Egypt out. “Of course.” He said softly, his eyes soft as he looked at his wife. Chocolate soufflé.. Nathan should have guessed what Egypt would go for. “Care to share?” he asked with a flirtatious wink. They were both mega fans of anything with chocolate in it after all He looked at her with wide eyes when she spoke to him in that panicked voice. He wasn't leaving. He still loved her. He frowned a little and flinched when she pulled her hand away from his. He looked at her tear stained face and it pulled at his heart strings. “I'm not leaving, my love.” He said softly. “But you opened up to me about how you were feeling... you only deserve to know where I am in this. I still love you.” He shook his head and swallowed at her question. “No.” Had she not been listening to him? “Being alone with you tonight is a step in the right direction. I just want you to understand why I haven't moved back home yet..” This didn't need to be blown out of proportion. They just had a little work to do to get back to how things were. |
