"I'll se you later" and left.

"I can't wait." Waving goodbye to her he leaned back and looked outside at the rain that was dying down. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out some muggle money and placed it on the table with hers before leaving the resturant.

It was almost like old times, them flirting with each other like newly weds. It brought back so many memories it twisted Egypt's stomach to think about where they were now.

She shrugged, "Its little spots all over their body, and I do mean absolutely everywhere." She pointed out. "And they really itch. I had to take them to a muggle doctor for some cream or another. I think they got it from that school." She knew thats where they got it from because that was something only muggles got. "But they are enjoying bathing in that vat of oatmeal. Thought Tweet believes the doctor didn't literally mean oatmeal, but thats what he said. So," she shrugged again. It was helping them with their itching and they were enjoying it.

Egypt smiled, "Opening night is in June." She didn't know if he was going to travel with the family or find his way there, but Egypt knew that Willow would be crushed if he wasn't there.

She placed her menu down on the table and the waiter was at her elbow for their order. "Can I please have the Caesar salad to start and then the lobster risotto please." she smiled at him. She might as well eat good on this date.

Egypt looked at Nathan, did he really want to know how she was doing or was this just polite conversation? "To tell you the truth Nathan I'm a little hurt," she thought it was best if she were honest with him. She didn't know any other way to be. "You won't come home and me and the children are trying to be supportive and understanding but you are acting as if you were the only hurt and that you are the only one that has to get over something." She hated talking to Nathan like that but it was time she let everything out and told him how much they missed him. "Everyday the kids ask if you are coming home and I tell them no an they don't understand why, and frankly neither do I." She wasn't going to cry. She just wasn't. "The man that I have loved and pledged my life to, the man that I never a reason to doubt me nor my love doesn't trust me. That hurts Nathan." She dropped her eyes to the table. She had to keep it together. This wasn't the place to start crying like a baby.

Little spots. Urrrh.. that rang a bell somewhere. It was quite a common disease among muggles. Nathan should know this stuff dammit – he'd lived among them since he was nineteen, almost a decade, but occasionally something would crop up that he hadn't heard of. He laughed at the image of the little boys bathing in oatmeal and the mess it must make for poor Tweet to clean up afterwards. “Well I'm sure the man knows what he was talking about.” He smiled. Muggles had some odd ways but they were usually logical.

Opening night was in June. It was June now wasn't it? Guh. His lack of knowledge about what his children were up to made him cringe. “I'll be there.” He said softly. “We can all go together as a family. It'll be nice.” And Willow would be over the moon to see them all together.

He waited for Egypt to order, then he followed suit and his stomach rumbled in anticipation. The smells coming from the kitchen were wonderful. “I hope you're going to have a dessert too.” He smiled. “It all looks delicious.”

The conversation then took a nosedive from polite small talk to the subject that Nate was trying with all his might to avoid. He grimaced as Egypt came out with the direct truth about how she was feeling. He shook his head and swallowed nervously. His stomach gave a lunge, and with that, his appetite was gone. He was going to have to be honest with her. It was going to hurt like hell. It hurt him just to think about it. He picked up his whiskey and downed it in one, feeling the burn of the muggle drink that wasn't all that different from the fiery wizarding version he was so fond of. He took a breath and reached out for her hand.

“...Please, love... Please understand that I still love you. I do. But... things.." He sighed tiredly. "..they aren't what they were before, are they?” He wanted to look away, but he kept his eyes on hers, ignoring the sting in them as he spoke in barely more then a whisper. “I'm – I'm trying desperately to get back what we had. The spark we had – your mother has extinguished it. It's gone out, Egypt.” That was the real reason he hadn't moved home. His heart hurt so much when he thought of what they had, and how things were now; how if Egypt and the kids hadn't left he probably wouldn't be feeling this way, but he just couldn't help his own heart. He had been hurt so, so much. “But I'm trying, love.. I'm really, really trying. Tonight was supposed to be an attempt to rekindle that flame..” Oh god. Deep breath.

Well that was bound to put a dampener on the evening. She wanted the truth.. and now she had it. He looked at Egypt with a pained look in his tired eyes. He did love her – she'd had bared seven of his children.. how could he not? He just needed time. He needed Egypt to understand that. People reacted in different ways to situations.. and this had been a LIFE changing situation. He'd gone from being happily married with a large family to being alone for an entire year... and it had taken him almost that to adjust to being alone; now he had to get used to being a father and husband again. Maybe he was being dreadfully selfish. Maybe it would be easier for all if he just moved back regardless of what his heart was telling him. He just didn't know what to do.

Tommehbell 03-30-2010 02:36 AM

She took a sip of her water. "Well regardless Ben and Devon are happy in their oatmeal baths and its keep them from scratching so I'm over the moon about that." They had driven her crazy before she took them to the doctors. Though the stuff got everywhere and it was like a edible glue. "The owls like eating up their mess though," she giggled. Goliath was all to happy to hop around the oatmeal eating at his leisure.

Opening night was actually in two weeks. Egypt had gotten matching outfits made for the whole family. It was silly but she had done it. "Willow will be so happy to see you there," in fact the whole family would be happy. "You want us to go as a family?" she asked making sure she heard him correctly.

Dessert did sound good and some of the selections were calling her name from the kitchen. "I think a chocolate souffle sounds really nice." And with that she was going to get one.

She hoped he didn't think that she just wanted to sit there and have chit chat all night. This was the first time they had been alone and she was going to talk to her husband and see where his head was at. She would have preferred a more private place, but he had asked and she would have gone to the ends of the earth for him.

She felt the little squeeze as he grabbed her hand. Egypt held his gaze not letting him look away. "We can get it back right?" she pleaded. She wasn't going to let go of her husband nor her family without a fight. She was going to hyperventilate. He was going to tell her that he was divorcing her. "Don't let her do this to us Nathan, please. You are the other half of my soul, my perfect match. Our love is stronger than her." A few tears slid down her cheek as she looked at him. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Nathan was beaten and he was letting her mother kill their marriage. She couldn't look at him anymore and she dropped her gaze and pulled her hand back. It hurt to be so close to him and yet to far away. "We're trying too Nathan," she didn't know if she could do this. She wanted to fight but it seemed like Nathan had already given up. "Have you given up on me? On your family?" His answer to that question would determine where they were going.

He wanted time, he wanted them to understand him being selfish, but were they supposed to sit back and twiddle their thumbs while he decided if he wanted to come back home to them? What happened to them when he figured he was better off without them? Why was he being this way? She didn't understand it at all and she frankly didn't know if she wanted to understand it. On top of the pain they all suffered, he was keeping them in limbo and in pain. The atmosphere around the house had totally changed. She didn't know how many times she could stand there and watch her children cry when she told them their father wasn't coming home tonight. She looked at him, at the pained expression in his eyes. She was hurting too. His children were hurting.

"I want some orange juice," Abille smiled. Now she felt like she was eating breaskfast. All she needed was PANKCAKES.

Jesper chuckled. He usually wasn't stuffed by food. If he was stuffed at all when eating, it was by the drink. It didn't happen very often though... "They're nice when you're hungry though," Jesper smiled.

"I think I'll have water," If he drank, he probably would get stuffed. Which wasn't good, since he had ordered a hamburger. And he didn't want to be too full when they we're done... Noooooo.

"True. But do you have burgers at like family gathering that aren't fancy? Like just your family hanging out at a park or something," Abilee asked and leaned on her elbows. The only people she had a gathering like that was with her sister-in-law's family, who were really nice unlike her own parents.

"You seem like a guy who always watches what they eat," she teased and smirked at him. Abilee didn't have to watch what she ate, but she wish she did most of the time.

"I guess we'll have burgers or hot dogs or something like that," Something that was easy to make and easy to bring. And tasty. Andddd full of chalories.

"Yup, always," Jesper said and nodded, smirking back. Usually when he was at a restaurant, he'd just order in something he felt like eating, and if he didn't like it, order in something new. "Maybe I'll have a French Toast too if I don't like the burger," He said, actually being serious.

"No wonder you're so fit. I'm guessing you work out as well," Now Abilee couldn't really believe that came out her mouth. Oh well, she already said it and it was now done. "Psssh. Better not be MY French toast!"

"Well, I guess those are sneaked along too," Jesper grinned. SOMEONE in the family would always insist in bringing the healthy stuff... And since Jesper liked to eat, one or two tomatoes would slink down...

Jesper grinned. A compliment! Wow, and applaud for Jesper. "Well, I walk the dog," Jesper grinned even WIDER. How that was even possible. "I'll order my own," He said and smirked. But that was only in case he didn't like the burger. but you never knew what those crazy muggles could make.

"Oh that is just sad," Abilee laughed and shook her head. Abilee had a slight crush on a person who loved veggies. Not that there was anything wrong with that, she just actually never met someone who liked them as much. But she liked only CERTAIN veggies.

"Walking a dog gets you fit...?" she questioned and gave a confused look. If it did, she should start walking dogs then. Abilee needed to be more than just skin and bones. BLEH. "Good! I don't plan on sharing!" she stuck out her tongue at him and smirked.

"Well, I eat some veggies. But not the gross kind..." Jesper shrugged and laughed. Those boiled soft things we're not good... But cucumbers and tomatoes were tasty. Sometimes.

"Well, if you go for long walks, yeah," Jesper grinned. "You could go with me sometime, if you want," No taking back now. But he meant it, it was pretty boring going alone. And Abilee would be his first pick, anyay. Not that he had many OTHER picks except for guy-friends. Oh gosh, he could barely make sense of his own thoughts... Anyway, he hoped she'd want to go with him sometime.

"Ohhhhhh. See, I thought you were some kind of vegge head, though there's nothing wrong with them either," Abilee giggled. Please, Jule was a vegge head and almost got Abilee into one too. But she didn't want to be eating so many so often.

"So, do you go on long walks on the beach with your dog?" She couldn't help the laugh and picture it in her head. Abilee was such a silly girl. But Jesper now asked her if she wanted to join him one day. Awwwww. Blush Blush. "I think I'll take you up on that offer," Abilee smiled.

"Wellllll," Jesper coughed. Maybeeee he should eat more... But he ate fruits. And they we're good. So, he guessed he ate enough other good things to not eat all the veggies.

"Sometimes to the beach," Jesper chuckled. Sometimes to Diagon Alley, and sometimes elsewhere. Anywhere there was calm. So he mostly went to Diagon Alley when all the school-kids weren't running around. "Then it's--" Wow, was he just about to say 'Then it's a date'??????? "Decided," He smiled. Phew, that was lucky... Unless Abilee felt.. Ugh, never mind.

"Well what?" Abilee asked, with the confusion plain on her face. Or maybe she should start eating more veggies. Never hurt, right? RIGHT?!

"How cuteeeeeeee. Walking your dog on the beach, you must catch a lot of attention," she smirked and smiled at the same time. But Abilee pictured herself with Jesper and his dog, walking on the beach. Abilee shook her head and sat upright again. The waitress had finally come with their food and set it down. "Thank you," Abilee smiled. "Then it's decided," She repeated and smirked at Jesper again. Hmmm...

"Well, maybe I don't eat as many as I'm supposed to," Jesper smirked.

Jesper looked up thankfully as the waitress came with the food. Thank god, he was STARVING. And yes, they had picked the biggest and most expensive one, but it was still food, and so Jesper started eating.

Attention? Well, Jesper really didn't notice if he was catching attention. Now that he thought about it, maybe he did. But Jesper, Abilee and the dog DEFINATLEY would. They'd probably look like a couple. Which honestly, Jesper didn't mind. He took a VERYYYY deep breath. "Then it's a date," Out. He couldn't take those words back. But he didn't want to, so why did he care? He flashed a smile at Abilee, and prepared for her response.

Who knew Jesper actually wanted to go on a date with her.

Chloe stood outside the restaurant in the setting sun. Asher must have had to work a little bit over because he wasn't here to meet Chloe for their dinner date yet. It was nice, still going out for dinner dates even though they lived in the same house and could eat dinner at the same table if they wished. Chloe enjoyed still dressing up for him and making herself look cute for their dates. Standing outside, she just wanted patiently, looking up and down the street for him.

Asher rushed home from work that evening to make sure he made dinner on time after working a long day at the ministry, but was only rushed around his room to get ready for a dinner date that Chloe had come up with last minute. Now, he was rushing down the muggle streets of London to find the streets that he had become oh so familiar with in the past few months. He stopped quickly, almost getting hit by a car, the driver honked his horn and continued on his way. Asher shrugged it off, he was in a hurry. He looked down at his shoes, making sure the black dress shoes were tied and clean. Check. His black slacks were still wrinkle free thanks to Maudi's excellent charming abilities while he was showering. His purple shirt was tucked into his slacks and his tie was just right. Running a hand through his hair to make sure it laid down Asher came upon the restaurant, seeing his Chloe standing outside he didn't mind that he was so terribly tired. He was just happy to see Chloe after a long day at work. "You look extravagant this evening." He smiled at her kissing her on the cheek.

Chloe was looking down the street in the opposite direction when Asher approached her. She jumped a little, hearing his voice close to her ear, and when he kissed her cheek she smiled, turning to look at him. He had changed since this morning. She was still wearing the same black dress she had put on for work this morning. Though now that she was out of the office, her purple sweater was draped over her arm instead of being worn. She just beamed at him and returned his kiss on the cheek with a kiss on the lips. "You don't look too bad yourself," she said with a teasing twinkle in her eyes.

Nathan chuckled warmly. Bath time had always been amusing with those crazy little boys.. he could only imagine what it was like in a vat of oatmeal. The owls must be in owl heaven. No wonder Goliath was arriving back at the Leaky in evening and not eating what Nathan gave him to eat.

Of course he as going to see his daughter in the play. He wouldn't miss it for the world. He was taken aback that Egypt was so surprised that he said he would go with the whole family. It hurt that she thought so little of him. It wasn't as if he didn't visit nearly every day.. or take the kids out and do whatever he could to help Egypt out. “Of course.” He said softly, his eyes soft as he looked at his wife.

Chocolate soufflé.. Nathan should have guessed what Egypt would go for. “Care to share?” he asked with a flirtatious wink. They were both mega fans of anything with chocolate in it after all

He looked at her with wide eyes when she spoke to him in that panicked voice. He wasn't leaving. He still loved her. He frowned a little and flinched when she pulled her hand away from his. He looked at her tear stained face and it pulled at his heart strings. “I'm not leaving, my love.” He said softly. “But you opened up to me about how you were feeling... you only deserve to know where I am in this. I still love you.” He shook his head and swallowed at her question. “No.” Had she not been listening to him? “Being alone with you tonight is a step in the right direction. I just want you to understand why I haven't moved back home yet..” This didn't need to be blown out of proportion. They just had a little work to do to get back to how things were.

Asher smiled, though he felt like an idiot, he had dressed up more than going to work...and Chloe was still wearing the same dress, though her purple sweater was laid on her arm, instead of being worn. Oh well, who doesn't like a nice well dressed man? Asher asked himself. He chuckled to himself, surely Chloe didn't mind his lateness, nor his good appearance. "Thank you." He murmmured back to her giving her a kiss on the lips. "Shall we?" He asked holding his arm out and jerking his head in the direction of the restaurant door a few feet away from them.

Chloe just looked Asher over and smiled, blushing slightly. She loved it when he dressed up. He was such an attractive man, and when he dressed well, it was enough to make Chloe fall in love with him all over again. When he held out his arm, she wrapped her arm in his and cheerfully said, "Lead the way!"

Asher smiled and steered them towards the door, he unhooked Chloe's arm from his and hold the door open for her and put a hand on the small of her back to guide her through the door gently. He let the door shut behind him, he looked around, noticing a few people from the ministry here and there. But the majority were that of muggles. Asher looked a little bit closer for a moment, noting the building, he realized that this was yet another place he hadn't been in yet. Realizing that there wasn't a host he looked for an open table. He noticed a small cozy booth to the left of the room, farther away from the people of the ministry that he spotted. "Over there." Asher whispered in her ear and nodded his head in the direction of the empty booth.

Chloe's heart warmed when he opened the door for her and placed a hand on her back. He did that sort of thing all the time, but for some reason, it still made her feel like melting in his arms. There was just something so... comforting about it. When they got in, Chloe noticed a few people that she recognized from the ministry but to whom she had never spoken. Before she could take it all in, Asher was pointing her to a quiet looking both in along the wall. She walked toward it, but a step in front of him, and when she got there, she sat down gracefully and slid into the booth, placing her purse and sweater in the booth beside her. After they were situated, she looked at Asher and just simply, quietly, said, "Thank you."
