He opened the menu and began to scan the meals on offer. This was a bit posh wasn't it? It certainly made a nice change from KFC in his room in the Leaky Cauldron. Fried chicken seemed to be Nathan's main diet these days – Egypt would have a fit if she knew. Still, the stuff was damn tasty.
He looked at Egypt over the top of his menu, his eyebrows raised. Chicken pox? Was that KFC chicken related? He made a face. “What on earth is that?” He asked. It sounded nasty. “Poor little mites.” He mumbled. Bath them in oatmeal? This got weirder and weirder. He looked at Egypt with wide eyes, not really understanding what she was talking about.
Willow got the lead in Wicked? She was going to be on the stage in the West End when she was older at this rate. “That's brilliant.” Nathan smiled. He was so proud of his children.
He decided on soup for his starter and the braised beef for his main course. He eyed the desserts they had on offer and licked his lips thinking it all looked nicer than the main meals.
He closed his menu and placed in on the table and leaned forward a little. “And hows thing with you, love?” He asked her softly knowing that she wasn't finding their current situation easy. | It was almost like old times, them flirting with each other like newly weds. It brought back so many memories it twisted Egypt's stomach to think about where they were now.
She shrugged, "Its little spots all over their body, and I do mean absolutely everywhere." She pointed out. "And they really itch. I had to take them to a muggle doctor for some cream or another. I think they got it from that school." She knew thats where they got it from because that was something only muggles got. "But they are enjoying bathing in that vat of oatmeal. Thought Tweet believes the doctor didn't literally mean oatmeal, but thats what he said. So," she shrugged again. It was helping them with their itching and they were enjoying it.
Egypt smiled, "Opening night is in June." She didn't know if he was going to travel with the family or find his way there, but Egypt knew that Willow would be crushed if he wasn't there.
She placed her menu down on the table and the waiter was at her elbow for their order. "Can I please have the Caesar salad to start and then the lobster risotto please." she smiled at him. She might as well eat good on this date.
Egypt looked at Nathan, did he really want to know how she was doing or was this just polite conversation? "To tell you the truth Nathan I'm a little hurt," she thought it was best if she were honest with him. She didn't know any other way to be. "You won't come home and me and the children are trying to be supportive and understanding but you are acting as if you were the only hurt and that you are the only one that has to get over something." She hated talking to Nathan like that but it was time she let everything out and told him how much they missed him. "Everyday the kids ask if you are coming home and I tell them no an they don't understand why, and frankly neither do I." She wasn't going to cry. She just wasn't. "The man that I have loved and pledged my life to, the man that I never a reason to doubt me nor my love doesn't trust me. That hurts Nathan." She dropped her eyes to the table. She had to keep it together. This wasn't the place to start crying like a baby. |
