| | Ministry Employee Fitness Room All-Employee Fitness Room
Because many of the employees of Level Seven are former athletes or were once professional Quidditch players themselves, it should come as no surprise that fitness is a primary concern or that they like to find ways to remain in shape. A fitness and weight room was instated near the entrance of the lifts to address the needs of the Games and Sports employees, but is open for use by anyone in the Ministry.
Featuring state of the art exercise machines powered by magic, the fitness room is equipped with treadmills, stationary and recumbent bikes, and elliptical cross-trainers. Free weights of graduated sizes are located along one of the mirrored walls.
An open space in the back corner contains yoga mats and a ballet bar for those interested in meditation or lower impact exercise.
OOC- This thread is open for all Ministry employees, both G&S and other employees. Feel free to start a roleplay here with your friends. C-.

| Open post! Raspberry Jam | #ChocolateFrogFamous | Ultimate Fangirl Having easy access to the fitness room was definitely a plus to working in this department. It hadn't taken much time at all for Theodore to get back into some sort of shape, but he still had a long way to go. It wasn't as easy as it was back when he was a kiddo, these bones were starting to fail him! He wondered if he'd even be able to navigate a broomstick on the pitch anymore. Thoughts and memories of zipping around with his old friend, West Odessa, came to mind as he trained.
After warming up on the treadmill for 15 minutes, Theodore moved to the weights area and did some arm work.
He could feel his beard hairs becoming sweaty, which reminded him to give it a little bit of a trim sometime this week. Although he was aware that he completely OWNED the bearded man look.

It had been a long day already, and Peggy needed a break from handling the resume sorting. She still hadn't found a permanent replacement for Milo, and she was not up to the task of running the Gobstones division.
And what better break was there, than a nice stroll down a treadmill with a book?
Book in hand, Peggy expected to find the exercise room empty but it wasn't. "Ah, hello, Theodore," she greeted her newest employee. "I see you're fitting in already." |

| Raspberry Jam | #ChocolateFrogFamous | Ultimate Fangirl There was something therapeutic about training like this, it really took your mind off of the happenings of the real world. Theodore couldn’t believe he had left all this behind for so long, but the good news of a brand new career really put his life back on track. He was feeling very grateful and mulled it all over as he pulled some of the weights up and down.
Lost in thought, Theodore JUMPED at the sound of someone approaching. Thankfully, he had good control over the weight he was holding and managed NOT to drop it. Nooooo, not the department head when he was all sweaty like this.
“Ah, Miss…” uhhh… “… Mrs? Miss…? Laplace.” Theodore may as well just walk out and end his career right now after that display. “Apologies, you startled me.” The man smiled, pretending not to mind too much. “Hah, yeah, trying my best. Great to have such easy access to all this.” He gestures to the gym equipment. In his opinion, there wasn’t a better department to work for than this!

Peggy chuckled gently as Theodore's apparent nerves. Considering how relatively short she was, it was amazing anyone found her intimidating. "Oh, I absolutely agree," she said as she set her book onto the treadmill and pulled her hair up. "It's nice to be able to take a quick break, or a longer one, and get the heart pumping in between paperwork."
She stepped up onto the treadmill and started walking, hoping that might make the man more comfortable. "If you notice anything that could be added, just let me know. I'm trying to make it as useful as possible, so everyone can find something to try." While she knew it was an easy sell for her own department employees to use the room, she knew that coming from other floors could make it more of an inconvenience. So it might need a little more excitement or welcoming feel to get some folks to visit.
She was curious how Theodore was getting on with the pitch administration tasks, especially after the lax security the previous year, but she didn't want to press. After all, many people (herself included) came to the fitness room for their breaks! She didn't want to be an imposing boss. |

| Raspberry Jam | #ChocolateFrogFamous | Ultimate Fangirl She was laughing, that was always a good sign that she wasn’t taking his awkwardness as just weird. Theodore set his weight down and decided to go to the treadmill again, to make conversing a little easier. Those machines could get loud. Hopefully Peggy wouldn’t mind, he was aware that sometimes working out alone was the best way to do it.
“It’s a well equipped room, not to worry.” He knew his stuff as he used to hit the gym on a regular. Theodore checked his watch, “I’m just spending my break here, not enough time in the day to break too much if a sweat,” and since he didn’t really know many people in the department so far, he was a little reluctant to socialise during these moments. He hoped his boss didn’t think he was slacking off, of course.
“How’s things?” Work wise, personal wise? Theodore wasn’t sure what to talk to his boss about.

“How’s things?” Work wise, personal wise? Theodore wasn’t sure what to talk to his boss about. Peggy raised one of her two eyebrows as Theodore joined her one one of the treadmills. She felt bad when the man checked his watch and indicated he was on his break. But...he had moved over to the treadmill, after seeing her hop on one. So probably that meant he didn't think she was imposing.
Right?!
Regardless, she definitely didn't think he was slacking off. She was here, too, you know. Exercise meant for happy and healthy employees. Which was obviously what she wanted. "'Things'?" She shot him an uncertain look. What a vague question. Still, he was on his break, she was on her break, which meant no work talk! "Things are good," she said. "My son will be graduating from university soon," she added proudly. She paused, then added. "Do you have children?" |

Theodore was always uncomfortable when talking with new people, sometimes even with people he had known all his life. This discomfort heightened his awareness of others' emotions and facial expressions, so he DID notice the looks she was giving him in response to his questions and actions. He obviously chose to see them as much more negative looks than they probably were.
Was it the run he was doing or was it the tension in here that was causing this SWEAT??
"Ah, that's great news." Theodore smiled. It must be a great feeling to have offspring smart enough for university. He wondered if his parents were disappointed that he and Casper didn't make the cut. Although Casper certainly couldn't brag about being a professional Quidditch player so he wasn't the main disappointment of the family. "What has your son been studying?" He asked.
Noooooo... not the children question. He didn't find it rude, as such... okay, yes he did... but Theodore wouldn't dare make that opinion clear. Instead, he'd be kind and calm. "No, no... no kids for me." He smiled a little, suddenly in a thought bubble. It kinda upset him that he was getting to an age where kids were looking more impossible. He realized in recent years, way after splitting with Cassia, that he did want them one day.
Hey ho, some things were not meant to be.
"Perhaps one day, if I meet the right person." Why not slide a little bit of optimism in there? Even though it was all fake.

"Perhaps one day, if I meet the right person." Why not slide a little bit of optimism in there? Even though it was all fake. Peggy's face rarely told the whole story of what was going through her head. Years of chess tournaments had led to developing what she called her chess face, where she couldn't betray what she was thinking. Years later, she tried to have more facial expressions because her friends had all said it was disconcerting to have a conversation without her changing her expression, someone had used the word robot once, which was some Muggle thing. So she practiced with the eyebrows and the tiny smiles. And the concerned face, which she had perfected while coaching a U11 Quidditch team.
Anything eight- and nine-year-olds did on a broom made her worry.
She smiled too, as she really was proud of her two children. She didn't see it as a reflection on her, but she was glad they appreciated the power of knowledge like she did. "Last I checked, he was studying sports management," she said, trying to convey the proud mother hen feeling that she...occasionally felt about her son. It worried her, more than anything, to have her son trying to follow in her footsteps. But with the university education, maybe he'd change his mind and not try to play Quidditch.
A woman could hope.
She felt the awkwardness in the room at the children question, and wondered if she'd crossed a line. It seemed natural to ask, though, since she'd just shared about her own two children. She smiled and nodded in understanding at the 'no' answer. Kids were not for everyone. And his comment on the 'right person'... Merlin, if he hadn't hit the nail on the head there. There'd been days when her two were teenagers that she was relieved that Hogwarts was a boarding school. "There's certainly pros and cons to having children, or not," she said with an awkward chuckle before changing the subject. "Do you have hobbies?" Or pets, people usually liked to talk about their pets, but she didn't particularly to care to hear about pets. The fur and the feathers that usually accompanied pets were just so messy. |
