"Hm? Oh, I just need to head to level 8 real quick. You were wondering about what?" he asked her as he leaned back to check the clock on his wall. He still had some time to kill before heading down to meet the French people. Quite frankly he didn't really want to go deal with them, but he had to thanks to this murder issue. |
Rebecca listened to his answer and nodded "Sure, I was wondering if I could use your office, for a meeting, of all my divisions, please?" Rebecca asked. |
"Oh, sure thing. I'll be out for a while so you go ahead and use it. There's plenty of tea in boxes in my desk and there's a fresh pitcher of lemonade if you want refreshments," he said stepping out of thye office to switch places with her. "If you need anything I'll probably be down the hall in the detention center," he said before snapping his fingers. "Right, you'll need this," Syd reached back in the door and grabbed the spare key off of its hook. He handed her the key and looked down the hall again. |

Squeezing itself through the door, a folded paper airplane memo zoomed around Syd's office before coming to a rest on his desk and unfolding itself. It read: Quote:
|
Rebecca turned to see a note unfold itself on Syd's desk, she moved over to it, seeing his name she folded it up and placed a cup on top of it, this was for Syd, no-one else, she walked back towards the door to wait again |
Catlin made her way to Syds office and knocked on the door after reading the message on the notice bored |
Rebecca opened the door quickly "Ah, Catline, please come in, do sit down, drink?" Rebecca asked leaving the door open. |
Catlin smiled as Rebecca welcomed her, "oh yes please tea if you have it" she replied as she took a seat. |
Rebecca flicked her wand and a cup flew towards her, she grasped it and handed it to Catlin "Tea" she smiled "Now, we wait for the others" Rebecca said before leaning on Syd's desk |
Catlin sipped on the tea while waiting for others to turn up, she was anxious to find out what this was all about. |
Rebecca smiled at Catlin "Don't worry" she hoped this would ease the anxiety that was plastered all over Catlin's face |
Kris casually strolled up to the Department Head's office after reading the notice. Hopefully it wasn't anything bad. He adjusted his tie and then knocked on the inside of the frame of the door, seeing as it was open. "Hope this isn't anything bad," he said, putting his hands in his pockets. "What's the meeting for?" |
Rebecca looked up "Hi, come in, sit down" Rebecca indicated the free chairs "Drink?" she asked "Oh, it's nothing bad, I'm just getting bored with going from division to division, since you are going to be working closely with my other divisions I decided to have us all meet here" Rebecca explained with a small smile. |

"Well it seems like this is all we are going to get" Rebecca sighed "I wanted to introduce all my employees to each other, see, I am not only the wizengamot division head, I am the division head for four other divisions" Rebecca told them "And I wanted to have you all meet each other, since you are all going to be working together" Rebecca sighed "Never mind, thanks for coming here though" she smiled at them "I'll speak to you all individually" she nodded "You can go if you want" she smiled warmly |
Catlin could tell how dissapointed her friend was by the lack of employees to turn up so jump up quite joyfully and said to her "How about the people who did turn up go round the other offices and see if we can pick up anyone else?" |
Rebecca shook her head "Nah, don't worry about it, we can introduce each other in a different way" Rebecca winked "Thanks though" she smiled "Go ahead, go home" she smiled |
Catlin simply nodded as she turned to leave for home "See you tomorrow" She said with a smile before dissapearing from the office. |
"Bye" Rebecca waved before closing the door behind Catlin, she turned to the office and sat down on a chair, burying her face in her hands, after ten minutes, she decided to write a note for Syd Quote:

Tonya walked up to the door of Mr. Wordsmith's office and knocked lightly on the door. |
Flying swiftly under the door of the Syd's office, a pink broomstick-shaped memo zoomed around the quaint office twice before unfolding itself on his desk to read: Quote:
|
A snowy white owl suddenly flies into the room, heading for the Department Head's desk and dropping off the following message - http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...eira/PARrr.jpg |
Walking briskly down the corridor towards the Head of the Department of the Law Enforcement, Jake kept getting flashbacks from his time here before he had applied to the Education Department. It was all so long ago, yet it appeared that things here haven't changed much. As the door came into sight, Jake began going over the things he was supposed to ask of this man. Knocking on the door, Jake didn't really wait for a reply before walking in. Sure it was rude and he'd probably regret it later but at the moment there was a crisis going on and he needed to talk to him as soon as possible. Which, incidentally, was now. "Mr. Wordsmith, hi, I'm Jake Rider. I come bearing bad, urgent news so I hope you'll excuse me for barging in," he began, then carried on without stopping to take a breath. "The Ancient Runes professor at Hogwarts is a werewolf. They had a special assembly in which she was supposed to show them the transformation in a safe, educational environment but things didn't really go according to plan. "She transformed into her werewolf form after taking a bad Wolfsbane potion and so was not in her right mind as she began advancing on the students. The Headmaster saw this and immediately threw himself in front of her in order to save the students. Both of them are now at St. Mungo's and we have yet to hear of their current situation. "The Minister wishes for you to launch a full scale investigation, starting with bringing in witnesses for questioning," he finished up, taking in a big gulp of air before adding, "She also wants security to be placed outside Lupa's door at St. Mungo's and not allow anyone in or out apart from the Healers until Lupa has given a statement." Swallowing, he waited for his ex-department head to reply, all the while running through the facts in his head - looking for something he might have left out. This was big and the Minister was relying on him. |
Syd listened to the man from his personal file cabinet. Something about the school... Probably a fund raiser or something. How much would he give this time... Maybe a- Wait, werewolf? "What in Sam hill... Okay, uh... I'll make sure I get some people on it. I'll send Aurors to her hospital room. Have any witnesses brought in and get them seated in the detention center. Dang people tryin' to show off dangerous things like this..." He slammed the cabinet shut and rested an arm of the top of it. There were kids at stake here! How could anyone... Who would... It'd be okay. |
Tonya cleared her throat, "Excuse me. Mr. Wordsmith." she said irritably having been waiting an eternity for a response from the man. 'I"m Tonya Springs, your liason from the ministers office. You've kept me waiting long enough. I need an update on what your department is doing." she added. |
Quote:
"Right, thank you. . . And I have to agree with you there - dangerous things like that should NOT be permitted. Just er, some of the witnesses might be kids so from the Department of Education, try and be as kind to them as possible," he nodded, and remembering that he had to go report back to Reagan, turned towards the door to leave. Just as he opened it, someone else walked in and he had to suppress a chuckle - the Minister's liason was here and from the looks of it, she didn't really know what was going on. Then again, who did? This information was confidential - Minister Taylor had made that pretty clear from her tone - so it should be no surprise that other people in her office didn't know. Walking out, he wondered how Mr. Wordsmith would deal with this... After all, he should be an expert on confidentiality. Back to Reagan and Samantha... To report on what was going on and to hear what the two had been talking about on their own after his stepping outside. Something told him that if they were to tell him, it wouldn't be anything remotely close to the typical female conversations that this ministry was prone to. Which was good, since he'd be worried if Minister Taylor decided that she cared more about the freshest wave of gossip rather than saving people's live and preventing mayhem. |
"Yes, right... Uh, I suppose I'll see you around Jake. And Ms. Springs, please come in. I'm really very sorry to keep you waiting. I didn't mean to, I just... get a little involved in what I'm doing sometimes. Feel free to pelt me with paper balls if you so need to." He offered her a chair and poured himself some lemonade. The pitcher had condensation running down it and the ice clinked against the glass of the big container. "Now... We just got back from a camping trip to build morale and are now on werewolf duty. We also just got some items in to be looked at and are in the process of dealing with checking the magic on them and processing them," he said as he motioned for her to take a glass of juice. |
Tonya laughed as she poured herself a glass of lemonade, "I won't pelt anything at you." she said taking a sip from the glass. "I'm sorry if I was a bit stern." |
"No, no. I like stern! All part of being a lawyer really. If that pesky defense starts mumbling and sweating then there's no fun!" he said before taking a sip of his lemonade. "Ah, and as for those items we're processing... I forgot to mention that they seem to be roaming our hallways. I saw a pair of shoes tromping along earlier. Though I'm confident my employees can handle it." |
A snowy white owl appears and before flying off, delivers the following message - Quote:
|
ooc: Cloning, this happens AFTER the Minister talk to her. Alessia knocked on the door. "Hello?" She asked. Now where was the auror office? The minister had mentioned this name... Wordsmith... maybe he would know... or maybe he could interview her... She knocked again. |
Syd sat scribbling up a memo concerning the new budget the ministry was going to have to present. He was trying to think of what he could write down as a form for his division heads while he looked at the inbox that was awaiting new applications for division heads. There was a knock and a woman's voice piped through the crack where the door was ajar. "Yes? Come in, come in," he said, capping his pen and setting the papers aside. |
Alessia walked in very quietly... "Hello, I am... Alessia Lupa, professor... Alessia Lupa... hopefully, anyway. I'm looking for the head of the Auror department?" |
"Ah, yes," he said, looking at her as he rose from his seat. "Well he's in the Auror and Hit Wizard office, but I can certainly help you. He's busy inter-... talking to your co-workers." Syd motioned her in and pulled out one of the chairs that sat in front of his desk for her. She was clearly not in the best of moods, but then again who would be? Though in this state it wouldn't be easy to get answers out of her. Syd knew Forrester could try, but he hadn't been in court before. This was no job for an officer. "Let's have a bit of a chat here, Professor. Care fer a glass of lemonade?" |
"Is it real sweet?" she said with a smile. "I like your accent, Mr. Wordsmith, American?" she asked sitting down. |
"Not too sweet. Ya gotta make sure it stays a little tart," he said pouring her a glass. "And yes, I'm American. Odd I know, but you get used to it." He smiled a bit and handed her the glass. As she took it he sat on the corner of his desk and looked at her. So far so good right? "Now. You came here to discuss the matter at the school, yes?" |
"Oh...uhmmm yes." She said nodding. "Can you interview me? I feel comfortable with you... it might be the accent, but I feel at ease." |
He nodded and leaned across the desk to pick up his pad and pen. She certainly seemed far more willing than most suspects were. Hopefully she'd give up the information easily. "Alright, Professor. Why don't ya start by telling me a little about yerself. What do you teach? Hobbies?" |
"I teach ancient runes. Hobbies... uhmmm is eating chocolate a hobby?" she said smiling... "I use to write romance novels... muggle and wizard..." she added. She looked around the office as she answered the questions. He really was putting her at ease... she wouldn't have joked otherwise. |
Syd scrawled some notes on his pad and nodded, "Romance novels? Well that sounds mighty nice if I do say so myself. Are you married? Boyfriend?" He was breaking the ice slowly. If he jumped into the questions too fast she'd seize up like everyone in court does. No one appreciated the old southern art of conversation anymore. No one spills the details if they aren't comfortable... |
"Why Mr. Wordsmith... Is that an actual question for this interview... or are you curious for your own purposes?" She smiled. "And no Sir, I have neither husband nor boyfriend..." she said and took a sip of the lemonade. "The men in my life are either friends, family... or colleagues." She said smiling. |
Syd chuckled and nodded to her. She was catching on. Though of course she was a professor so it was only natural she would. No more fooling around then... "Well that's just fine. I guess my silly little chit chat can be put on hold as we get down to business here. Now, Professor, could you please describe the events of the day in question? Please start from the time you woke up until just before the assembly." |
"Oh... well lets see... it was one of the last days of school before finals... I woke up, and I had canceled class that day. The headmaster wanted me to be fully rested. I drew my runes and they told me I should meditate... so I did. I put on the sounds of the rain forest and achieved nirvana within 2 hours... a record for me. It was quite enthralling. Next I took my lunch in the hut... I starve myself when I'm in werewolf mode, so I fill up at lunch and dinner, just so the wolf isn't hungry. After lunch, which consisted of rare cooked rabbit and potatoes, I went for a run around the campus, releasing any energy I had. I came back and took a long bath... Bubble bath... orchid bubble bath." She took another sip of the lemonade. "After which I had dinner, rare Beef and vegetable stew. I changed into oversize robes, and went to the assembly. On the way my godfather pulled me aside and questioned why I wanted to do this. And I truly thought I was doing a good thing." She said looking at her drink. "Anyway, we began the lecture portion of the assembly and it went well. I took my potion and realized it tasted funny... like fruit... strawberries? and I knew something was wrong then, I tried to tell the headmaster, or anyone..." She said her eyes beginning to fill with tears. "But the pain... that's pain I had never felt... that wasn't the right potion... and all I could do was scream." A tear ran down her cheek as she looked back up at him. "Then I blanked out... without the potion, the mind is no longer in my control, it's the wolf's." She told him. |
Syd nodded as the pen scrawled across the paper. She certainly had a clear memory of the situation up to the point of the potion. In fact the day seemed rather normal for her. It wasn't normal for him, but he could understand that a werewolf would have to do some... more elaborate daily rituals. "Very good. Now, this potion. Had you had it with you before the assembly or was it provided for you when you arrived?" |
"It was provided for me..." She said with a nod, blinking away the tears. |
"And does anyone else in the school know of your affliction? That is to say, did anyone else know prior to the incident?" he asked, looking at her. He still had the pen in his hand and it was finishing a sentence. Over the years he had learned how to take notes while talking. It was vital in law school and stuck with him as he listened to questioning in court. "Also, you mention a fruity taste. Possibly strawberry. Based on your knowledge, do you know of any potions that require such ingredients?" |
"Well I never made it a secret, but the Headmaster knew, my godfather, Valon Kazimeriz knew, my best friend Iliana Morgan knew, and the DADA professor knew, Marcus Lawson..." she said hesitating. Could Papa Valon be right? Marcus could have told Ethan and maybe even Bunbury? She really liked Marcus, but she really didn't know him as well as the rest... and really, what kind of a man dates the rabid bunny? "The first three have known a while. I told Mr. Lawson a few weeks before the assembly, and he's good friends with the History of Magic professor Ethan Truebridge and had once had a relationship with the Herbology professor, Anastasia Bunbury. I'm not sure if he may have told them... though I don't think so." Potions with strawberries? "No sir, I know no potion that uses that ingredient..." |
"Jeez..." Syd said, arrows flying all over the sheet he was writing on. "That blasted school's turnin' into a right soap opera. All these complicated relationships and whatnot." He looked at his notes and realized that even he could barely read them. Great. "Well do you at least know who mixed the potion? Your godfather? Potions master?" |
"I don't..." she said hanging her head low. "I don't know at all, and I'm sorry to not be able to help you with this. |
"No, no it's fine. I understand that there are some circumstances that are beyond your control in this case. Perhaps I need to take a look at the responses given by the other teachers..." Syd said, a tad frustrated. "In any event, whose idea was this assembly? Yours? The headmaster's?" |
"Well... it was originally... Professor Lawson's idea sir." She told him quietly. She fidgeted a bit hoping she wasn't sounding accusatory. |
"I see. And were there any plans to discuss the proper way to handle werewolves prior to this assembly or was this the first time?" he asked her, standing up finally. |
"Of course..." She said, "I was to take my potion and as extra precaution, I was to be locked up in a cage. The staff was asked to come." That should have been enough... that was everything that could have been done except for not having the assembly. |
"I understand," he said casually strolling to be behind the woman. "Now, Professor, I'm going to ask you this question and I want you to answer it as truthfully as you can." He looked down at the back of her head as he waited to ask the question. This was the hard part. If she closed up here, he'd be stuck with no usable information. "Is there, or has there ever been, someone who was out to get you? Someone wanting to expose this secret or use the disease against you?" |
She gasped covering her mouth. How could she not have thought of him... tears shining in her eyes. "My ex-fiance... He... he didn't know where he was. He... he... Merlin... he couldn't have... he... couldn't have..." |
"Professor, this ex-fiance you mentioned, who is he and where does he reside?" Syd said, tone going from cheerful to stern. "Even if it's a long shot I need to know. Sometimes the craziest theory is the most correct." He walked around from behind her to pour another glass of the tart juice. A long sip filled the pause between questions as he continued to face the wall that the refreshment table was against. "You wouldn't believe the lengths some people would go to. So, if there is anything you'd know, tell me now." |
"Remí Devereux," Alessia said. "He resides in Paris... Passage des Marais 75010 Paris" She gave him full address. "He was substituting my Wolfsbane potion with a forgetting potion and placing me in werewolf fights. When I confronted him, he threatened my life..." She paused... this certainly was something he could have done... |
Paris. It was close, but not close enough. He clenched his fist and turned around, trying to come up with some way to connect him to anyone at the school. "This Mr. Devereux... Does he have any contacts in this country aside from you? Anyone possibly at the school? Perhaps not contacts, but friends?" |
"Not that I know of... and he is no contact of mine either." She said and reached over to grab his hand. "Please don't let him hurt me again... please." |
He looked down at his caught hand and nodded. He was frustrated, but she was in need. This wasn't going to be easy... Maybe he would check on the others who were being questioned. "Yes, we're going to make sure that doesn't happen again. However, right now the only way to protect you is to prove your innocence. Before I go to check on your colleagues is there anything else you'd like to share?" |
She shook her head. "I have nothing to hide, but I have nothing else I can think of to tell you... may I owl you if I think of anything else?" |
"Yes, please do, Professor," Syd said to her as he thought. "I'll be sure to deal with anything you owl me asap." He opened up the door for her as he waited for her to get up. At least she had been willing to speak. She even provided some rather deep information. Whether or not it was useful was yet to be seen. |
She stood and approached the door. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and said "Thank you Mr. Wordsmith, you have put me at ease during this interrogation. I hope you find the culprit soon." |
Syd smiled to the woman and nodded after she kissed his cheek, "Yes. We most certainly will, Professor." Kiss? It seemed like every time he was willing to help someone they wanted to kiss him. He was used to it now. He shut the door after the professor left and sat behind his desk. Time to think for a bit... |
Catlin knocked on Syd Wordsmiths door, she was still smiling widely like she had been since receiving the owl informing her of her promotion. Unsure if her first knock was heard she tapped again, She wasn't an impatient person she simply couldn't wait to start work. |
Warren walked up to Syd's office with letter in hand and as always a frown on his face. Was this right? Running a hand over his face he sighed. For the better right? That was the plan... He just never expected this to actually happen a part of him believed someone more qualified was going to get it and he could continue to wallow in his own self misery. Well..maybe this is a sign. It's been months, you can't find her, she hasn't owled you...Just give it up. As he neared the door he looked up to find someone else there. Finding the wall a suitable spot he leaned against it, reading and rereading the letter in front of him before shoving it in his pocket unceremoniously. Division Head...well the good side to all this is I'm free from Forrester. But who in their right mind would make HIM a Division Head. That's it...they weren't in their right mind. Leaning his head back he closed his eyes tiredly. A new start...a new job...I guess next fate will be telling me to actually actively go search for people who will constantly be asking me if I'm 'okay'. |
Looking away from the door and smiling as she saw someone else join her Catlin held her hand out "Hi there, Im Catlin Scuto" Still unable to hide her smile and eager to tell the world she added quickly "I just got a division head job" |
Warren, oblivious to what was going on around him, opened his eyes as he heard what he thought was the girl that had been standing there speaking to him. Of course she was speaking to him who else was there unless Syd magically appeared. Looking at the girl and her hand held out he pushed off the wall and shook her hand cordially, That's right..play nice. "I'm Warren Rodemiere, new head of MLES and Wizengamot." Still think THAT'S a mistake. |
"Congrats" Catlin beamed "You here to get the low down from Syd?" She asked with her head to the side. "I still cant beleive i got the promotion, I cant wait" Suddenly realising how annoying she could be when she was hyper she straightened herself up and took a deep breath "I'm sorry, i can get a bit crazy at times" |
Syd opened his door and saw two of his new division heads. Well, they were new to management. They had been in the department before after all so it was more so a promotion. Either way there were here and probably nervous. "Ah, Ms. Scuto and Mr. Rodemiere. Come in, come in. I'm just waitin' on Hufflepuff and our other new friend, Mr. Martimus. We have exciting things to discuss in regards to this World Cup," he said, motioning them in. |
Once again Catlin straightened herself up and smoothed her hair down, just as their department head opened his door, She smiled widely for the hundredth time then entered the room in front of her "Hello Mr Wordsmith,I can not wait to get to work" She stood waiting for the other new division heads. |
Warren looked at the girl curiously as she seemed a little bit..odd. As the door opened though he turned toward it and nodded as Syd spoke. Stepping into his office after Catlin he stood near the back of the room leaning against the wall. Placing his hands in his pockets he looked around idly. "The Quidditch World Cup sir?" he must be behind in his news he didn't know that they were coming here. It brought back unwelcome memories of things that could have been and he brought his hand up unconsciously and ran it down the long scar on his face. |
Forrester made it to Syd's office, knocked on the door and opened it. "You wanted to see me?" Forrester asked as he entered a room that hosted three people besides him. Syd of course, was behind his desk, as a stranger and Warren stood in front of him. Hope it won't be about them becoming Division Heads, Forrester thought to himself as he stood by Warren and smiled. "Sorry I have been late Syd... It's just that I was busy with the questionning and interrogation with the professors." Forrester revealed as he conjured himself a nice comfortable sofa and sat down. "So what is this meeting about?" Forrester asked. |
Blackstone walked up to the door and knocked. He could already hear voices inside... hopefully he wasn't late. He was very eager to start his new job... and still rather shocked that he got the promotion. |
Syd sat back down as Blackstone knocked on the door, "Come in, come in." He took out his notepad and looked over his notes from the meeting. There were the little snitch bullet points he had doodled and the various arrows pointing to parts of the mess that he called an outline. "Alright. Well first off I want to let you all know that we need to come up with a budget for out department. Take into account office supplies, salaries, equipment that needs to be repaired or purchased... anything we might be spending money on," Syd said, looking up at his employees. "Tough, I know, but simply do your best." He flipped the page and looked it over before continuing again, "Also... the Qudditch World Cup is comin' here to England this year and we have a few things to discuss. I need out policing squads to start figuring out ways, and practicing them, of crowd control. Plus brush up on more advanced techniques in case there's any... dark... activity. I would also like you police squads to work with Improper Use to come up with a pamphlet regarding safety issues at the games." He checked his notes again and nodded, "Right. I want any of those Improper Magic specialists to work with the police to practice crowd control so that they can better spot illegal behavior. We good so far?" |
Quote:
Hopefully he hadn't said anything too obvious or foolish... Blackstone was always one who like jumping right into things, but that occasionally meant that there would be some embarrassment coming along with it. |
"I'd say ask your staff when you start writing up your expenses. Though it is a good idea, chances are we may not have such specialists available. You're thinkin' outside the box though, which is good," Syd said, pointing his pen at Blackstone. "Alright now... back to the Cup. Equipment Control specialists... yes, there seems to be a peddler of Omnioculars that isn't on the up and up. We need to get a sample of those, examine 'em for the problem, and book this guy if we have to. Counterfeit Objects is got two jobs to do. We got another unscrupulous seller about who's passing off traveling cloaks with counterfeit protective spells on 'em. Check those out, would ya? And make sure to be on the lookout for fake good luck charms being sold to players.." Syd said as he flipped the page again. "Alright now... There seems to be a car dealer enchanting cars as a means to get to the cup. Muggle Artifacts specialists need to talk to him about this, get his story, and determine the right punishment..." Syd said, smiling. "Got that?" |
Warren stood in 'his' corner as Syd rattled off the assignments mentally making a note of things that were important to his department. His eyes traveling to the man who seemed eager to make an impression and he hid a smirk. Remember when you were like that? Looking around the office a bit he noted the different things around before his eyes went back to Syd. |
"Syd I'd like to know one thing, has the place for the stadium been chosen yet or not?" Forrester asked. "and who will be casting the defensive charms around the place... As our duty is to keep everyone safe should we be talking to the people responsible for those things?" Forrester asked. "We don't want another wizard conference murder again" Forrester commented. |

"I'm assuming the stadium is nearby and whatever charms they need are already being arranged for. As for this car dealer, he's not too far away... I'd say round up whoever is looking to get out of the office before you head out," Syd said, tapping his pen to his pad. |
Catlin nodded and made her way to her feet "If you dont mind i would like to go make a start on the cloaks, unless there is anything else i am needed for right now?" She took another glance at her notepad "I will also get someone to have a hunt around for the luck charms too...once i have a spare member of staff" |
Quote:
He smiled to them and tapped his pen to his desk, "Alright. Now we gotta hope our teams win." |
Warren walked up to Syd's office and knocked on the door. "Sir, there's someone who needs to speak to you about a list of wanted criminals." Hopefully he was here though if he wasn't the lady could always come back later. Leaning against the wall he waited for Syd to acknowledge him. He wasn't much of a chatter really and so was at a loss of things to say. Except..."I don't think I got your name..." |
Quote:
|
Syd looked up and shouted, "It's open!" He was looking at some files that he had been sent as part of the prep for the world cup. Whatever was going on out there had better be good. He was way too busy... |
Quote:
Drawing away som blond strands out of her eyes she continued "I'm Angelica Goldbloom and I come from level 6, the magical transportation department. As you might be aware we will be overseeing the traffic in the portkey and apparition networks during the QWC and my boss Mrs Masterson thought it would be good if we could have a list of criminals to cross reference people against.. We don't want to relive the unregistered portkey incident from a year ago." |
Quote:
Walking in he propped himself up against the wall as normal and watched as Angelica introduced herself and explains what she wanted, "She means wanted criminals. Forrester was...a bit tied up so I couldn't help fully and since you receive all of our memos I figured you were the best bet." That and he didn't particularly want to start another fight with Edward trying to get Forrester's list. |
"Right... right," Syd said, looking around his office. "Well I got some files around here, but it might take me a while to get them together." He stood up and walked over to his filing cabinet to pull out the files. Flipping through them proved that he was in desperate need of a new system. Things were in folders, yes, but the folders were... everywhere. "I think we got most of 'em... Though there's a few who could still be at large," he almost mumbled as he pulled out the chart on the disruptor of the world conference. |
Angelica stood at the side and watched as Syd whisked around his office looking for files and mumbling to himself. It was clear when the filing cabinet was opened and Angelica saw the state things were in that getting updated list of wanted criminals would take some time. When she had the list or rather folder then things would be a lot easier for them when the QWC kicked off. It was her hope, no goal to not let a new criminal disrupt a big wizarding wide event. |
"Right, well, there aren't many left out there that we haven't caught... Most of our guys have been small time lately. And we caught the one who disturbed the world conference so there shouldn't be much of an issue there..." Syd said, handing her a couple files. "We got ourselves a taxi service provider we're dealin' with, a peddler of fake omnioculurs, and a fella tryin' to pass off fake good luck charms as the real thing. Nothin' really worth bein' too worried about. Well. You know what I mean." He chuckled and shut the open drawers. Hopefully with beefed up security on the transportation front, his job would be easier. Then again rowdy teenagers, and adults acting like teenagers, were bound to run amok. |
Angelica took the files from Syd smiling "Thank you for the files!" Placing them inside a big notebook that she extracted from within her ministry robes. "I'm glad that you caught the conference criminal in the end. That man or was it woman, really shellshocked the whole minsitry not to mention my department. For a time I'm ashamed to admit that I thought it was our fault that a criminial could get into the Ministry of Magic." Angelica hadn't heard anything after the initial employee interviews and was very relieved when Syd shared this piece of information with her. One less thing to lay sleepless thinking about and there was a lot on her mind lately. Placing a hand on her belly as one of the little ones moved she listened as Syd continued speaking about criminals they were dealing with at the moment like fake good luck charms and omniculars. Joining in his good natured chukle Angelica smiled saying "Yes.. I really do know what you mean.. Thanks again for the files they will surely help us in our work. I guess i'll let you get back to what you were doing.." Turning to leave she stopped at the door looking from Syd to Warren saying "Bye!" before walking out of the office and out of the whole department. |
Warren listened to Syd rattle off the criminals that were caught and on the run. How interesting..not..he knew all that. His eyes caught on Angelica as she touched her belly and he smiled. Wow...a smile.... Shaking his head he leaned his head against the wall and sighed. A strange world they lived in that was for sure. His mind couldn't help wander off into though as to whether Alexa hadn't left. Would she have been pregnant as well? With his child? Then his thoughts were broken as Angelica was leaving. Pushing off the wall he smiled and nodded, "Good bye, pleasure meeting you." |
A paper airplane flies into the room and comes to a rest on your desk, unfolding and smoothing out to reveal... |

After what seemed like a rather extended lift ride, Chad finally made it to Syd's office. Hoping that the man was there, Chad raised his hand and gently knocked on the door. |
Syd set down the mess of flyers that had come in through his door and looked up. Yet another visitor... He was way used to scheduling appointments with clients even after all this time. "Yeah, it's open. Come on in," he said, clearing away enough space on his desk by dumping a bunch of old papers into a bin. |
