Danielle walked into the Level 9 Break Room. She needed a break. From what exactly she wasn't sure. For one thing she needed to meet new people. She had been tucked away from the public life for quite a while. Now was her chance to be like a regular person. Going to work, working, going home. None of the 'hide away from the press' type of stuff. It was a different, a completely different life style she had to get used to. Dan knew that she could handle the transition. If she could take ten different blows from Blundgers in one game of Quidditch, she could handle almost anything. Dan found her a seat in a corner and sat down, she pulled out her old and battered copy of Quidditch Through the Ages. Dan always found that reading the book always made her calm down, forget what's happening and just to relax. She had re-read the book so many times she could almost recite it front and backwards, but it was always something she had with her no matter where she went. She sat there reading her book, hoping somebody would be friendly with her. Dan was most certainly not the type of girl who would go out of her way to make friends. Her Slytherin pride was there, but still kept her away. |

Joshua was surprised as he was hurried towards the wedding. "Uh...Mr. Wright? I have to get my cousin...I'll be back." he said, disappearing to his cousin. |
Opening her brown eyes, she realized in panic that she had fallen asleep. "Frick." she yelped as she stood up quickly. How could she fall asleep when she supposed to be working. She remember not feeling well but the wasn't an excuse for anything. "Frick on stick." she mumbled again as she as she tired to pull herself together. Feeling much better she grabbed her stuff and quickly looked around for some form of coffee. Grabbing a quick cup, she took several large sips before throwing the cup in the garbage can. Taken several deep breaths, she walked out of the break room and back to her job. |
Isaac entered the Level 9 Break Room and was surprised to find it completely empty. Funny, because he'd always thought people were generally lazy and would do anything to avoid actual work. Either way, he pulled out a stack of identical memos and posted three of them accross the room where no one could miss them. Dan picked up one of the flyers. That would be an intresting work week. But how in the world were they supposed to... show them around the department..... |
Crystal entered the break room and whipped out her wand. At last, she would be able to do a bit of magic and not refrain from using what her momma gave her! She skimmed over the notice that had been posted, but it didn't really interest her. One latte coming up! She took her newly brewed coffee and took one of the more comfortable arm chairs. "This is the true life," she said, remembering the days where she didn't have to work at all. She missed her ex-husband. |
As she sashayed into the break room, a flyer caught Layla's eye. Ooh! A conferance was going to be held there. Exciting! She smirked to herself and went up and got a coffee, perhaps a little too strong for most people, and she possibly would be annoying Winter later on that day. "Hey, Crystal." She joined her co-worker, "What d'you think of this?" She asked, waving the flyer in the woman's general direction. |
"Oh hey Layla," Crystal greeted, pleased the woman decided to follow her and have a coffee. "This place is rather dirty. Needs to be spruced up a bit, don't you think." At that point she removed her perfume from her handbag again and sprayed the lavender fragrance around the rather foosty room. "If I were honest Layla," she began to giggle, "I really couldn't give two hippogriff's rear about a conference. We file documents for a living... I suppose this is supposed to be... exciting?" She rolled her eyes. Business stuff was so boring. |
Layla couldn't help but to giggle along with Crystal. Her laugh was sort of infectious. "Can you just imagine it though. We'll all be forced to," She adapted a poor attempt at the Minister's accent, "Work harder and strive higher!" She accedently snorted quietly, then giggled again as she took a quick sip of coffee. |
Crystal rolled her eyes. She very well knew that Brennan Cooper was a prat. She had spent her entire Hogwarts years with him as they were in the same year and house... in fact, they had once went out, but whether or not he was just using Crystal for some other means was never discovered. However, she hated Coop with a passion now and it hurt her even more that her best friend back in the day, Clara Belle, had gone and married him! "Brennan needs a good quick where it hurts in my opinion," she whispered to her colleague whilst sipping her latte elegantly. |
Naoke entered the break room a bit behind the other two girls. She spotted them instantly and walked over to them. She hadn't been in the break room yet, and she stared around at everything, trying to figure out what was what. Her attention was caught by an official looking document on the bulletin board, which she read through quickly. "Hmm," she hummed to herself, wondering if Japan's Minister for Magic would be attending at all. She spotted the tea shortly after and quickly prepared herself a cup. "Did you two see that?" she inquired of the girls she'd followed in, motioning toward the sign. |
Uwa soon made her entrance and Crystal smiled, "Ah, Uwa sweetie! So glad you decided to join us. Being stuck with all those papers every minute of the day is so unhealthy for the skin," she stated whilst prodding her well operated on, wrinkle free, forty seven year old skin. Healers were amazing. "Yes, we were just speaking about that," as conversation was drawn back to the boring conference thing of whatever it was, "Whats your take on the whole thing?" |
Naoke shrugged. "I was just wondering if the Japanese Minister would be here." She sipped at her tea, mulling it over. "It sounds interesting though. I suppose a lot of different Wizarding nations will be here, which is kind of exciting. "I wonder how many there will be." |
"Japanese? Hmm," Crystal tried to look interested, "No matter, I'm not particularly fussed with this whole sharade." "Anyway lovlies," she finished off her latte," I need to go see our dear Head of Department, Elijiah. Must discuss something important. See you back in the chamber!" She blew kisses before exiting the break room. |
Okay, so she almost waved, but didn't. Just in time. Layla happily finished off her coffee and went for another cup. It really was nice coffee. She returned to the table and smiled sweetly at Uwa. "Soo.." She began. Oopsie. The coffee was setting in. Or more... The caffine. |
An owl soared into the room and landed on the table in front of the employees. Naoke, I need to see you immediately in my office. Please stop by as soon as possible. Thank you, Elijah Wright |
Naoke waved good-bye to Crystal, turning her head as Layla spoke. She smiled and sipped her tea. "So--" She was cut off by the arrival of an owl dropping a letter in her hands which she read quickly. Her heart began beating rapidly. Why would the head of their department want to see her? Was she being relocated? Did they want to send her back to Japan? Was she being... fired? She forced a smile and glanced back up at Layla. "Sorry, but it looks like I'm needed in the Department Heads office." She glanced back at the letter feeling increasinly nervous. Setting her tea down, Naoke exited the room, a soft good-bye to her co-worker barely heard as she headed to what could very well be her doom. |
Layla's brow creased as the Japanese girl looked a bit concerned by the owl that had made it's entrance just recently... It'd be a shame if it was anything bad. Still in deep thought, she finished her coffee and made her way back to her place of work. |
Elizebth took her lunch break at 2:30, the time she always does, and she read a little bit from Transfiguration Weekly. Elizabeth considered the brain issue that has been happening for the past 2 days, and what to do about it. She decided that she should wait until tomorrow to worry. |
Irene entered, reading from a binder as she walked, briskly, to where the coffee was, and got some of the strongest-- she had been awake for nearly twenty hours now, and knew that she had to get back to work ASAP. Sitting, she lay out the folder in front of her, reading from something that was in very tiny print. She glanced at her pocket watch... "four minutes....", she whispered. |
Stepping into her new breakroom. Liz looks around "Wow," she exclaims. Compared to her other breakroom, this was beautiful. Not that her other one was bad, this one was much more open. She opens her bag, and takes out her laptop, so she can check some email from her family, and update them on her transfer. After rummaging a little bit, she pulls out her lunch from her small refrigerator inside her bag, and a bottle of pumpkin juice and some water. After setting her lunch in front of her, she opens her salad and takes a bite, and glances at her laptop screen. After finishing her lunch she cleans up her spot, and leaves to go back to work. |
Walking quickly back into the breakroom again, Liz heads straight for the refrigerator. Remembering that she had left some sandwich supplies in there incase she had forgotten her lunch. She sets about making a tray with a few sandwiches on it, a bottle of water and some pumpkin juice. After making the quick lunch she hurries out with the tray. |
Kate walked in to the room and looked around...saying hello to everyone in the room. She grabbed a drink and sat down to relax before she had o start work again. |
Mei Lin walked into the level nine break room, after having not been able to find the person she was looking for. However she decided that due to her diligence she deserved a quick coffee break. Besides she reasoned, she needed to get to know some of the people working in the Department of Mysteries. She quickly grabbed her espresso and sank down into a comfortable arm chair, nodding to the others in the room as she did so. |
