Donovan smiled warmly as he was welcomed into Elijah's office and took the proffered seat. He raised his eyebrows slightly to hear Elijah speak of him with such commendable words. Of course he knew he was a hard-worker in the States, but it was certainly nice to hear, especially from his new supervisor.

"Well, thank you," he said offering Elijah a sincere smile. "I'm excited to be here as well. I'm eager to get started on a new project with my team." Before Donovan could say anything further or begin to discuss his concern over a previously occurring issue, an overly-excited owl flew into the office, narrowly missing his head.

Ducking to avoid a collision, Donovan curiously watched the bird deliver a package. That's strange, he thought. I was under the impression that owls were no longer a form of internal communication in the Ministry. He felt a bit awkward as he watched Elijah open the box, almost as if he were being nosy. "Christmas present?" he asked tentatively, trying not to appear overly interested.

Elijah grinned, pulling the watch carefully out of its case. Just who would send him a present as nice as this? He played with it a little to find that there is another face underneath the regular one. He dug to find the instructions, then made a mental note to figure out his gorgeous gift once Donovan was set to work.

Elijah nodded, slipping the watch onto his lap. "Secret Santa," he shrugged, trying to hide his curiosity on the sender of the present. He didn't like not knowing who did what and when. The Department of Mysteries had him in the face of every issue, and he came out solving most of them fairly quickly. Look at Jasper. But who had done this? They hadn't left many clues...

Looking up, startled, Elijah cleared his throat. "All right, as you know, you'll be working in the Time Room. A few of your employees might have scattered to the Break Room in the absence of the previous Division Head. You might want to hunt them down. Do you know how to get to the room, or would you like me to show you?"

Donovan watched Elijah curiously as he seemed to be a little distracted. Perhaps it was best to table his concerns over the previous incident and get right to work. If anything out of the ordinary happened again, he'd be sure to address it but for now he didn't want to appear incompetent on his first day. "No, that won't be necessary," he said, getting to his feet. "I was actually just checking in there quickly on my way here. I'm sure I can find my way back, no problem." He made to shake Elijah's hand again, pausing to see if he had anything else to say.

Elijah set the present aside and stood up to shake the man's hand. "Welcome to the Department of Mysteries. I think you'll do excellent with your division. It was very nice to meet you - I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again soon."

He nodded and waved open the door, eager to have time to inspect his new gift thoroughly.

The lifts opened and the voice murmured "Level 9: The Department of Mysteries", Daniel exited and walked towards the Department Head's office. He was in this floor a couple of times but he was never familiar with the place. He was very excited upon receiving the letter from the Department Head himself but was not able to comply due to the holidays. He knocks at the door three times and then shifted back and waited for Mr. Wright his new boss to answer.

"Thank you for the opportunity," Donovan said graciously to Elijah as he offered him a genuine smile. He truly felt that he made the right decision in transferring to this Ministry, security issues aside. He knew he could excel here. "It was a pleasure to meet you as well," he added, before he made his way toward the door. "Good day."

Eager to get back to his employees, almost worried that they'd cause some sort of trouble unsupervised, Donovan left the office and noticed a young man waiting just outside the door. "Hello," he told him politely, as he walked past, always mindful of his manners.

"Good luck," Elijah nodded as the man left to work. He was glad to see someone so eager to start something, especially with the plans they had underway in his Division.

Just as Elijah was sitting back to thoroughly examine his gift, another knock sounded at the door. Knowing to expect another guest - but not quite sure when he'd arrive - Elijah was glad he'd at least made haste.

"Come in," he called to the man, placing the present in his lap once more.

"I'm sorry to bother you. I am Daniel Henry Smith. But you can call me DH. I receved an owl from you that I will be the Division Head for the Planet Room, so I flew in all the way from South Africa to meet you, sir. By the way, here is a gift from my trip. DH handed a box to the table, in it was a golden couple dancing in a lovely waltz.

"Th-Thank you," Elijah said, taken aback. He stood up and shook the man's hand, surprised slightly by his accent. "South Africa, huh? Well welcome to the Department of Mysteries. I'm glad that you found us all right, and that you had a safe trip. I trust you're ready to work?"

He grinned slightly, pleased by the upturn the Department had taken in employees. They'd been suffering a shortage, probably due to the rumors about the DoM, but everything was slowly starting to get back together. He was definitely pleased.

The following memo should be distributed to your employees:

"Thank you very much. I am thrilled to be here working for the DoM. I am a fond of mysteries myself." taking the stretched hands of the Head and shaking them "Quite a good grip you got." commented DH with a curious smile on his face.

"I wanted to start as soon as you want me to. But first I wanted to meet the people behind the planet room, if that is alright with you." said DH giving a grin of satisfaction to his boss.

He was thinking of many things lately, of how his luck was changing. You can call it a Cinderella story that from a simple base worker he is now a Division Head. "So... Sir, where can I contact my helpers?"

Elijah looked at the memos and made a mental note to pass them out as soon as his newest Division Head was on his way to work.

"You can meet them all within your Division," he answered. "Hopefully, not too many of them have wandered of to the Break Room. If you'd like, go ahead and head over there, introduce yourself. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get to work. Oh, and take a couple of these memos and post them up in your Division, make sure everyone gets a chance to read them. Thank you again for coming with such haste, and good luck with your new Division!"

"Yes, thank you very much, I will do just that. So if you would excuse me for a moment I will look around the Planet Room and the Breakroom after for my Employees. Have a great day, Mr. Wright!" DH stand from the chair stretched his hand to shake his Department Head's hands and smiled. He then walks towards the door and headed his way toward the Planet Room.

Standing in front of the Door Nico checks his suit and Tie and knocks. I hope Mr Wright is in his Office he thought a little bit nervous.

DH walked from the cafeteria towards the office of Mr. Wright. He had been here a little while ago but he was compelled to go here again to ask something. On his way he saw a young man straightening himself up. "Hey there. Is Mr. Wright busy at the moment?" He asked the young man you looked puzzled and bewildered at the moment.

Nico heard somebody and turned around. "I don't know I knocked a few times but nobody answered. I got a job here as an employee for the death chamber and I don't know what to do now", Nico laughs, "Perhaps I need to camp here. Oh sorry for my manners. My name is Nicolaij Drakow but I like to be called Nico."

Elijah had his head on his desk, halfway into a dream when he heard knocking at his door. Groggily he stood up an tried to flatten his hair, wishing he'd been able to get more sleep the night before.

"Come in," he called, leaning against the bookshelf.

Nico enters the office, "Hello. My name is Nicolaij Drakow and I'm here to start my new job at the death chamber."

"We'll now, welcome to Level 9. I am DH the Division head for the Planet Room. Nice to meet you Nico." He welcomed the newcomer as he heard Mr. Wright's voice. He entered with the new employee.

DH smiled and let the new employee talk first. After the new employee had said his piece he gently speaks, "Mr. Wright, I'm afraid my employees have been inactive. I've only met 2 regular employee and 1 new one. But I think we can start the work at that phase." He had reported the results of their meeting and then waited for the Head's response.

A piece of paper flew into the Mysteries Depatment Head and landed on his desk.

"Nice to meet you," Elijah nodded, shaking his hand. "You'll enjoy it here, I'm thinking. The Death Chamber is one of our most unique divisions with plenty to offer. Make sure you introduce yourself to your Division Head when you go in, too."

"That's great to hear. I'll try to make sure to send some more qualified employees your way. Keep things running as smoothly as you can and I'll see what I can do. Would you mind showing our newest employee to his division?"

"I will sure enjoy my job here", said Nico, "and I'll indroduce myself to my Divison Head of course, when find him." He laughs, "Everything is really new for me here and it is like a Labyrinth, but I'll try my best", answered Nico.

Then he waited until DH had finished with Mr. Wright to show him his new place to work.

"Thank you very much, sir. I will be anticipating it."said DH and then to Nico and smiled. "I will be grateful to help."


DH said good bye to Mr. Wright and he looked and Nico and said "Off we go then."They both exited the Office and showed the new employee his way towards the Death chamber.

Squeezing itself through the door, a folded paper airplane memo zoomed around Elijah's office before coming to a rest on his desk and unfolding itself. It read:

Elijah picked up the note, curiously unfolding it. He read it, smiled a little to himself, then made note to stop by as soon as he was done with the heaping load of paperwork on his desk.
