So her name is Constanza.... Rico thought to himself. Interesting. I like it... And then it was back to business. "So....a meeting, with the division heads and the Magical Creatures Head..." he nodded. "Wait - what's this about a liason?" He couldn't help raising an eyebrow, especially when the expression on Evaline's face caused her to look like a constipated hippogriff! |
And before Constanza could said anything, Evaline answer to her unspoken question. She had been wondering why it was their job to deal with this invisible monsters, when that was the job of the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Evaline's answer made sense of course, they were dealing with International laws, and that was definitely something that involve the department. She nodded in agreement when Bass suggested having a meeting with the head of the Department of regualtion and control of magical creatures, it was their job as well. However, she had to admit that she had no idea what Evaline was talking about when she said something about a liason. "What do you mean with the 'department Liason', Evaline?" She inquired, with hidden curiosity. |
Evaline nodded. "Yes thats right. A Meeting. Shall we saw I don't know Saturday at 10?" she inquired. This sounded like the perfect time, so hopefully it was for everyone. She heard both there questions about the Liason. "Oh right. If you didn't meet him already, his name is Chad. He works on the first floor and he reports everything to the Minister so he knows and such." she replied with a hidden disgust for Chad. 'His job is basically a communication thing." she added. |

He thought she might be hiding something about the liason, so he had to ask. "Is he the minister's....spy in our department, then?" Rico said slowly, blinking. |
Evaline nodded again. "If you want to put it that way, then yes. Basically he is here to snoop and make sure we are pleasing the minister first before anyone else." she replied with a smile and wondered if that was it so she could get to work after she would talk to Constanza alone. |
Saturday seemed to be the perfect day, for the meeting in Constanza's opinion, and appearently it seemed to be the same for the man beside her. "Saturday works for me, as well" She said quietly, to both of them. This Chad person, definitely sounded as a spy, or as some would call it 'rat'. She was definitely going to have to meet him sometime soon. Murdoch eyed her clock. They had been there for some time now, and she yet had to to tell Evaline about the portkeys issue. |
A spy, hmm, Rico narrowed his eyes and stood up, thinking he still had work to do and didn't want the minister's spy to catch him slacking off. "Okay, well, I'll see you later then, Miss Bass, and Miss...er..." he trailed off with a glance at her, still uncertain of the woman's name. |
"Evaline please Rico." she replied to him as Rico was about to exit the door and then she turned to Costanza. "I'm glad this works for you, but your staff have another job too do." she replied to her as she picked up the piece of paper. She read it again and leaned back in her chair looking up at Costanza. 'This should tell you basically everything." she said holding the piece of paper up. "Its really important so make it your staff's first priority." she added and handed the slip to her. "Any questions?" she asked after giving her some time to read the job. |
"Murdoch" Constanza said promptly to the man, that was getting ready to leave. "But you may call me Constanza, if you wish" She gave him a smile, before turning her attention back to Evaline. Constanza listened to Evaline intently. The division had something more important to do? Even more important than Invisible monsters? "Of course" She answered with nod, before grabbing the paper, and reading it. Murdoch tried hard not to roll her eyes at the paper. "We need to deliver the invitations for the Minister's wedding?" She asked, cocking an eyebrow and keeping her tone of voice as usual; Quiet and calm yet, serious and a bit demanding. Her disbelief and skepticism at the task that she and her staff were supposed to do, remained hidden. Surely, there were more importants things to do, than dealing with Minister's wedding invitations. |
Evaline nodded and sighed as she noticed Costanza's coched eyebrow. "Yes I know. Other things should be more important but of course they are not." she replied and leaned back again. "Yes would you please just get your staff on it." she commented again. Obviously she must have these done soon or Chad would surely get on her nerves again. "Can I see the proto type by, Tuesday?" she asked. That should be plenty of time and Chad couldn't complain. If he did Lance would have something to say about it. Hmph. Eight can play at that game. |
This was utterly ridiculous. Why do they had to deal with the Minister's personals affairs, such as a wedding? She had no idea. Regardless, it was her job to do, and it didn't matter wether she was agree with what she had to do or not. Well, not entirely at least. "Yes, of course" She replied at once. "Is there any particular model the Minister wants for the invitations, or something like that?" Murdoch asked trying to keep a straight face, as if she was talking about something extremely important Time to visit a Muggle wedding planner. Perfect |
Evaline shook her head. "Actually the Liason didn't say and neither does that slip I presume." she said with a hint of joy in her eyes. Haha. The liason had screwed up. 0 for Chad 15 billion for Evaline. She tilted her head and guessed. "Well definitely the names, the venue of where it will be, and what time. Thats all I can think of. Anything else i forgot thats important just add I guess." she replied hoping this was sufficient. |
The reason why Evaline seemed to dislike the liason man so much, was entirelu unknown to Murdoch. But she seemed to hold a grudge against that man, for some reason. "Right, I think I'm going to visit one of thos Muggle wedding planners" She mumbled, more to herself than to Evaline "To see some Muggle invitations, and then add some improvements to them... and stuff like that" Better shut up before I start to babble. This was the least thing she was expecting to do here. "Alright, I should go now" Constanza said quietly, as she stood up and headed to the door. "I'll have the prototypes by thursday, first thing in morning" And with that, she walked out of the office, oblivious that she had forgotten to talk with Evaline about the whole Portkeys issue. |
Evaline called after the girl. "Tuesday dear! Tuesday!" She hoped she had heard that. Chad never said when she should have the proto type ready but she figured he was going to pop up anytime next week, so better be prepared and have it early next week. She pulled out a pen and paper and began to write two notes to one Division head of hers and then another to the Department Head of level 4. After that she was clear for everything. Then remembering, she wrote one last one to the Liason and sent it on its way. |
Lance walks toward Evaline's office. He didn't remember when was the last he he walks there since most of the time they were meeting in the cafeteria or they were bumping on each other in the lift. He was still curious about the fact that she had asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Of course he could help her with the painful guy that was serving as liaison for her office but he wasn't sure if all this was necessary. He sure thought that she needed to gave him more explanation about this. Knocking once at the doork, he waited for her to responded or the answer the door. |
Coming from the conference room, Evaline was in a very tired mood. The meeting she just had had worn her out for the most part and it was only 11:30. She decided that she would make sureself some nice warm tea when she got into her office. As she walked toward the door she saw a figure standing outside it, obviously waiting for her. She hoped it wasn't another problem. Hopefully it was one that was fixed and she could rejoice. As she got closer she noticed the body shape and realized it was Lance. Her tiredness seem to have gone away now. She tried silently to go up behind him and she wanted to cover his eyes, but he was too tall for her to reach. Note to self: Get a ladder. So instead of covering his eyes, she poked him on the side as she tried to get past him and open her door to her office. "Hello Lance. This is a nice surprise." she said with a evil grin she wasn't sure he could see. She opened her door and beckoned him in as she went around to her desk. "Close the door and have a seat. I was just about to make a pot of tea." she added. |
Lance was rather focus and also sure she was in her office, not that she always were there. He was hoping not to have come here in a bad time. She's seems to be rather busy lately which wouldn't be too good if that was the case. He was pleased at himself to have went change himself before coming here. After an hour of training that wouldn't be too good otherwise. Feeling as thought someone was coming from behind, he didn't move. He was ready to reacted to any kind of approach and after a harsh day off work anything could be possible. The person who was been him seems to be little, compared to him and not too long after making that observation, he felt a poke coming from her. At that moment he knew that only one would do that. Letting her pass as she was entering her office, he chuckles. "As long as you like that surprise then I'm fine with that." Closing the door right after he entered her office, he was very pleased that she was about to make some tea. This was something he could surely need. "What an awesome idea." As he sat on the chair in front of her desk, he eyes her. "So...... what's new ?" |
Evaline sat in her chair and swirled around to face him as she took a seat across from her. She knew she was glad her and Lance were friends. He always came at the right time. Smiling at him as she waved her wand and two cups and a pot of tea floated from a cupboard behind Lance and onto her desk. Filling the pot with water and then warming it with another spell, she added the tea leaves and stirred. "I hope you like it strong," she commented to him as she poured some of the tea into the two cups. When the cups were full she put the pot down for later and handed him a cup. Leaning back as she took a sip, she half smiled. This would definitely give her away. Lance was too good of a friend not to know. "Oh just this, that, and the other. Mostly the other though." she replied and took another sip. "Pastry?" she asked him as she flicked her wand and some pastries levitated over from the side book shelf. |
He had a feeling that he had decided to come to her office in a right moment. He had no clue why he was thinking such a thing but this was the vibration that he was getting from her. Of course he could ask her straight away but he prefered going smoothly just not to alarm her or anything. Smiling as he took his cup, he winked at her. "Even thought I love sweet I like when my drink are strong. The only time I add sugar or things like that is if I know my blood sugar is low." Waiting just a little bit to drink it since it was very hot, he glanced at her in order to try to read her. Grinning when she mentioned what was new, he was sure he had a perfect understanding of what was going on. It seems that not much had change. This was going to be interesting plus would give him the opportunity of asking her few things. "That terrible. You know i'm there if you need anything......... Realisticly speaking of course." Nodding at her as she proposed him some pastry, he couldn't refuse it. This was his weakness. "After eating that I need to train for at least an hour. I will become fat in no time otherwise." Looking at her with a somewhat evil smile, he knew that with all the training he was making himself do, this wouldn't happens. His health was too important for him. |
Evaline smiled as he winked. He was always in a playful mood. "Ah I see. Well if you need any just ask it's over in the cupboard behind you." she commented as she sipped some more of her tea. "Ahhh," she sighed in relief. This was a very good relaxer. Evalime chuckled. "You do know me too well Lance-chan." she said and put her cup down. "Fine I will tell you." she added and then saw him pick up a pastry. "Good no?" she said with a smile and took one herself. She eyed him about the gaining weight and commented back, "I highly doubt that. Me on the other hand..." and took a bite of the pastry and set it down. "Now, I told you I was going to tell you so here it goes." she started, but actually she really didn't have much to say. "I just finished up my meeting about the invisible monsters we read about in the Quibbler and I need to get that mission arranged." |
Lance took a sip of the hot liquid. This was exactly the perfect drink to take when you needed to relax for a bit. Shaking his head as she told him that he could add things in his cup, he knew that wouldn't be necessary. If this would have been coffee it might have been a different story thought. "It's perfectly fine the way it is now." Laughing as he heard her chuckles, he knew that he hit right. Sometimes it was easy for him to read her while other time it wasn't. Taking another sip of his tea, he put it back on the desk. The pastry did look very good and he stretch out his arm in order to get one. Liking his fingers and positionning himself in a comfortable position, he was ready to listen to what she had to say to him. "Well I'm all ears...." Chuckling as she replied to his fat comment, he knew she was right but he also knew that the day he would stop trainning this could happens. "Well if you are afraid of that, you should come trained with me." This could be very interesting. Carefully listenning to all she had to say, he could remember earing about the invisible monster somewhere but something in that story was making him hard to believe. The fact that for one, he never believed anything that was coming out of the Quibbler wasn't helping either. "Yeah! I remember that story but I thought it was rubbish. I hope you wont waste your time on this. But on the other hand, if it's true it would be a first for them." |
Evaline smiled as he was happy with his tea. She at least new had to make a good pot of tea and coffee. Everyone seemed to need to know how at the Ministry to survive. "Ok. Well just in case you know where to find it." she assured him as she picked up her cup again to take a sip. Evaline giggled at then raised her eyebrows. "I would love to, but I'd be afraid to put you too shame." she replied and then added "like with Quidditch." This made her think of her talk with Clarissa. "Oh and Clarissa wants to watch our little Quidditch match." she added with a wink. That would be fun with all three. Evaline frowned when he said the story was rubbish. Usually her and Lance never disagreed on things, but this time they did. "Well we are "wasting our time"" she stated. "Some of the employees are heading to the Quibbler in a few days time." she added. She kne he was going to ask why next. |
Lance gently bowed his head. He surely knew that she wanted be polite but this wasn't necessary since he had all he wanted right here. For the sugar part, the pastry was more than enough to satisfy him. "Thanks. I'll keep it in mind if decided otherwise." Taking back is cup and drinking the rest of his cup and put it back on the desk. He couldn't believe that she was doubting herself. He was sure that she could keep up with him for the most part, perhaps not for the entire session but at least a good part of it. "I think you can surprise yourself. But then again if you don't think so....... that's your choice." He had fun arguing with her. This was kind of a game for him. As she mentioned Quidditch, he was happy that she remembered that but he was wondering who was that Clarissa. He couldn't match a face on that name and this was bugging him. "I don't see an objection to that. She can join us in the game if she wants. The more we are the funnier it can be." Lance didn't like the fact that she had frown. He didn't say that in a bad way just that when it was down with the Quibbler, he had an hard time believing in their story. "You know I didn't mean it like that. I would hate that you guys spend time there and find out that it's nothing more than a fake story." He was sure that she was probably expecting him to ask more question but he didn't want to bugger her with it. |
Evaline smiled "Ok," she said and tehn saw him put his cup down. "Finished already?" she asked and then added, "Care for some more?" just to make sure he was still satisfied. She still had to be polite even if she knew Lance long enough. She went to take another sip of her's when she found ti empty as well. "Drat," she mumbled and took the pot of tea and pour some more into her cup. As she did that, she answered back, "Oh I think she would love that. I'm pretty sure she use to play quidditch back in school and would be flattered to join. She'll probably refuse at first for imposing." she admitted as her tea cooled off a bit. Picking it up, she took a sip and then replied back. "Sorry," she said and put her frown right side up, "I know you mean well, but you never know until you find out if it's fake or not." she admitted hoping she redeemed herself. |
Lance shook his head. He like tea that wasn't it but he knew that if he drinked it too much it would make him lazy and he would have some trouble just walking out of here. "Thanks for you generous offer but I'll just finish that pastry and I will be good." Cutting his pastry in half, he took a bite. He didn't knew why but he was very curious about that Clarissa girl. She was someone he knew nothing about and this was bugging him, not that he knew everyone working for the ministry but most of them. He didn't want to appear as the guy who was asking too much question so he decided to ask no question. "That would be fun. If she gave the excuse that she don't have any brooms, I have few extras back at home. They are in perfect condition." Not wanted to seems that he was pushing for the girl to be there, he add: "Of course that's if she wants to." He knew that from some he had a ladies man reputation to him but this was totally not the case. Lance could understand why she wanted to investigated this. As the Head of the department it was her duty to make sure that the story was true or not. "Like I said, I really hope you guys can clarify all this. At least we will know once and for all what is really going on." |
