[COLOR=#00c9b3]Once inside the office, the Department Head cleared a space for the book to be placed onto the desk. Slowly, gathering books and papers into bundles and turning this way and that as if to find suitable space on which to relieve his hands of them. "You may call me Jasper, if you like. It is my name." He said with a smile. Yes, they all knew that. And the Department Head flopped a book on Ancient Mayan Astrology, two folders and leaflets upon leaflets of parchment sheets onto the top of a nearby filing cabinet. Once the desk was clear, he took a seat. "What I know...Well, it's the sort of thing a dark wizard would create. There are, of course, other instances through time of books...being magicked to do the bidding of some dark wizard or another. Usually, it fell under the jurisdiction of communication. But they could be used for anything, really. I prefer to hold my judgements, but one thing is obvious: In the wrong hands, the book is highly dangerous. We will have to employee our best security with such an object."
"Mr. Kitridge, if you'd like to relieve your burden?" He said, inviting the younger of the two to place the book upon his desk. "Let's have a look at it shall we?" Jasper was imagining a heinous or even wicked looking typeface to be present. Something part way between wicked and playful to be lumped into the same category as mischievous without outright being so. Something that would interest children of Hogwarts age, the temptation of a perfect union of forbidden and harmless.
"And you say this thing...this book...possessed people? Including yourselves?" Or did he misunderstand Mr. Kitridge's owl?
"Jasper, you may call me Leobald." Leo said in return. If they were going to lay the formal pleasantries aside then the ministry department head might as well call him by his first name too. He watched silently, still hugging the bag to his chest, as Jasper cleared his desk of files and books. With a glance over at Abraham he walked over to put the bag on the desk. With very light and cautions hands and fingers Leo pulled out the sleeping book and placed it on top of the bag.
Taking a step back Leo exhaled audibly before he met Jasper’s gaze. "I'm not comfortable taking off the belt or lifting any of the spells I've put on the book and we're not removing Abraham's runic ward either. The book is too dangerous. Your experts can lift everything in the sanctity of their secure testing area." Let’s not take unnecessary risks.
Nodding he affirmed sadly. "Yes, this book possessed members of Hogwarts staff and numerous Hogwarts students. I however was not possessed but Abraham here was." Leo trailed off to look at his friend and colleague. "You were possessed to act and talk like a character out of a children's fairytale right Abraham?" The ball was in Botros court if he felt comfortable sharing the little he remembered from the possession.

Jasper, however stood smiling sincerely having very little knowledge on Emily Browne and sort of assessing her personality from the necessities for her line of work and the less concrete Astrology-related ideals. He was doing it wrong.
"I'm afraid I can't give an exact figure at the moment." The seer took a seat behind his desk and pulled out a drawer which had within it the stash of tea he kept for meetings and the like. If the sight of it wasn't immediately visible from across the surface of his desk, the scent of it surely was as a waft of bergamot from the Earl Grey fused with the citrus of the Lemon Zinger that hovered just above the Rose Hip. "This line of work is sure to attract a certain type of individual with specific interests in specific areas. Just how many of said types that would apply isn't precisely known. I think we could safely say, however, that I wish to accept no more than 8 individuals into the program." Jasper lit the small cauldron which sat nearby on a long narrow table. Boiling enough water for two or so people. "All of age, of course. All recent graduates." The chinking of chinaware could be heard as he pulled up the teacups. "Would you care for a cuppa, Miss Browne?" He prepared himself for refusal, maybe. She seemed down to brass tacks and business oriented.
Perhaps a moon in Capricorn?
Correction noted, good. But uhh, yoga? Emily nodded and smiled along with this revelation, "Wonderful," - not to mention it was strange to imagine. And why people bothered with yoga was beyond her. The best way to relax in her opinion, was to take it to a punching bag.
But back down to business. It seemed as though he misinterpreted her question, or perhaps she came across as being too direct. "Approximate figures are fine," she assured. All she needed to know was if the sum was going to be closer to five or closer fifty. She sat patiently as he went about opening drawers and releasing odours. Strong odours, but they weren't unfamiliar. Assortments of tea, herbs...
The longer she observed Mr. Mitterbill in his own environment, the more it seemed he was one of those earthy, nonsensical, tree hugging types. She only hoped he wasn't going to harp on about her pulsating black aura or whatever Harmony had once said. Specific interests, specific areas... simple enough to comprehend, and nothing she didn't already know. "I understand," she noted as he continued. No more than eight, did he say? Well then special concessions were hardly required.
Cuppa? "No, thank you." She'd sworn of tea in her early YATI days. Nevertheless, he was welcome to go on as he pleased.
"Honestly, Mr. Mitterbill, I think the standard protocol for individuals visiting the Ministry are suitable enough a security measure for the duration of their time here, identification badges would be the only recommended addition. Otherwise signing in and wand weighing are the only necessary actions required." All at Atrium level, nothing new in that sense. "Unless, did you have something more specific in mind? We can of course facilitate background checks" Is that what this was about?

SPOILER!!: Jasper
A smile, perhaps a very relived one at that was clear and present. This Culloden was quite good at saying all of the right things to calm his nerves. "That's a good quality. Not that I mind Kettleburn's less involved approach, mind you. He's done a very good job here, of course. I can't say I'd mind a more connected way of doing things." Admittedly, he was often very curious about other Departments and how they ran. "In fact, you seem to have many favourable qualities for the position for which you are running. I can see why you chose to run when the opportunity presented itself."
"Although, it's very likely true that all of the departments at the Ministry require security, I feel that this is especially true of Mysteries." That's what he was going to say before he bottoms upped the little lavender phial. "On the same note, speaking of sensitive information, I feel that certain information also needs to be freely accessible to the Unspeakables who work here so that they can continue to work on researching the everyday seemingly unsolvable things and use practical application with regard to their findings."
The smallest of chuckles escaped as Jasper gave more thought to Victoria having volunteered herself to take a Love Potion. It took a brave soul, but that much was obvious as she was running against quite a few others for the Minister title. "A love potion? How much was Evelyn paying you back then?" Joshing. Of course.
"Yes, I agree. Minister Kettleburn has been a very good minister. The person that does replace him will have very big shoes to fill, I am just hoping I get the opportunity to try to fill even half those shoes." She really hoped for the chance and she was going to work hard to do everything she can to get there. She couldn't help the bigger smile cross her face, out of all the department heads she had seen, it was nice to finally feel like all her hard work was showing. "Well thank you, I do feel this was the best time for me." The opportunity was there and she decided to take it.
She started writing down notes on what he was saying, "Do you get much security in this area or is it mostly protection charms?" To be honest she wasn't sure and to be even more honest she didn't think there was security on level seven at all. Information to the unspeakables, this was things that were very out of her league of knowledge, but something she wanted to learn to make sure she did her very best job. "Is there a communication issue at the moment with them?" She felt a little odd asking, but it was the only way to know.
She just chuckled at his comment. "It was a way I thought could help get involved with the ministry and I was single at the time, just had moved here with my son. So I figured why not. It all turned out alright though." She ended up with Charely and a new friend with Gavin because of it. So it was a win in her book.
