| | | Room of Requirement Found on the seventh floor is a secret room known as the Room of Requirement or the Come and Go Room. This particular room is famous for transforming itself into whatever the witch or wizard that finds it needs at that moment in time. While many may have heard of this room, properly finding it is no easy task. Most come across it without even knowing during moments of great need and are unable to find it again.
However, those that are attentive to detail will remember that the hidden entrance to this enchanted room can be found opposite of the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy. Simply locate this depiction of a man attempting to teach trolls in pink tutus how to do the ballet and walk past it three times, clearly thinking about what you need. After a few moments, a door will appear and allow you entrance inside whatever room you desire at that moment in time. Just keep in mind that the room has its limitations -- you, unfortunately, won't be finding any food in here.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Wilber O. Winterbottom Hufflepuff Graduated | Ordinarily, the wall across from the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy would be empty, blank as a new piece of parchment. Today, however - on the quiet weekend leading into the winter holidays - there was a door on which a sign read, “Paintball Match Entrance”.
Once you step inside, you’ll hear the crunch of leaves and twigs under your feet – this is not an ordinary room, but instead, a vibrant green forest on a bright and sunny day. Trees of all kinds, tall and thin and wide, stand all around and extend out in a seemingly endless terrain. Other trees have fallen to the ground, moss blanketing their sides. A variety of bushes sprout up from the forest floor. The ground is flat in some areas, and in others it is uneven, ditches and small hills breaking up any chance of a smooth walking path.
There is also a large sign right in your path, where you will find the rules and guidelines for this friendly competition between houses. Rules for Paintball:- The primary spell to be used here is the “Pingo” spell.
- The incantation is: Pingo + [colour]
- For this event, it is recommended to use the colours of your house: red, yellow, blue, or green.
- This is the only spell to be used when aiming at other students or professors.
- Other spells may be used to help make use of the terrain.
- Camouflage is allowed – however, Disillusionment Charms and similar spells/items are not.
- If you need a break from the match for any reason, you are free to step out at any time and return whenever you are ready.
- Do not cast at a person who does not want to be shot at.
- From the moment you step inside, the game is on. Stay sharp and maintain constant vigilance.
- Have fun!
OOC: Minor injuries are possible and may occur, but please refrain from anything extreme.
We invite you to play as many of your Hogwarts characters at this event as you are comfortable with!

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Idris, quite naturally, was bouncing as he and Paul stepped into the Room of Requirement. Which was not exactly a Room but a replica of the outdoors. He had his wand in hand, since he knew that anyone could take aim at him. Oh, and his hair was well protected with a bonnet. He wasn’t keen on having it splattered in any colour, thank you very much! “This is spectacular!” he said to the boyfriend, absolutely smitten with how everything was set up. “I guess you really are sure about not wanting to participate, huh?” Id had hoped that Paul would join in the fun but the wish was very much respected on his end. Levi could hardly wait to represent his House! He was generally excellent with aims so there was a certain level of confidence that quite a bit of his fellow students would be covered in yellow compliments of him. No, he wasn’t boasting. Now, Levi threw a sidelong glance at Diallo. “I know it goes without saying, but a reminder that it wouldn’t be a good time to display your pyro abilities.” He vaguely wondered how long before the bestie got tired of being reminded to keep his talent in check and telling him off. Harvey was… unsure about this. For one thing, he had never mastered the Pingo spell. So what was he doing here? It was a question he had asked himself and had always come up with the same answer: to have some good old fun! After he somehow got the hang of the spell, obviously. He figured the best course of action would be to ask an older student. That was far more difficult than it sounded, you see, since Harv possessed a slight ego. What a bruise it would endure having to admit he was not good at something. Which was why he decided to ask Diego; he was sure the Gryffindor wouldn’t judge him or make him feel silly. “Hey, Diego,’’ the first year said casually, approaching him. “Um. Would you be up for helping me with the Pingo spell? I’m not very good at it?” Harv scrunched up his face, hating that he had to admit the fact. |

Diallo was decked out in green camoflauge attire, probably the best thing with being a Slytherin was knowing your house colors could be designed as camoflague as he smiled on entry. "Right, maybe I won't need to use them after all." He smirked at Levi's reminder. He understood how important it was because, hello, he can't get into any more trouble. But who wouldn't be tempted to light up the party.
Diego was pretty excited to getting to play. He was here for fun, since he had so many friends in different houses. "Oh, sure!" Harvey asked him for some help. JT likely would appreciate him helping his little brother. He would love it if someone did the same for Dario or even Declan in the future. He could see his cousin already ready from the distance.
"It's kinda like the Levitation spell, it's all in the wrist!" He smiled. Seeing Idris and Paul nearby, "Paul's not going to play? But you are, Idris?" Not that he was planning to persuade Paul, he had his own reasons, he supposed. "Do you want to work together, Idris? Lion power." Plus, cool points for Zen who still had him on trial. |

| will add in my other characters in next post :3 Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia Of course Nathaniel was decked out in camouflage clothing. When he played a game like this, he played to win.
'Course, he didn't know what he would win. Assuming there even was a prize.
But either way, he was gonna play as if there were. And that didn't include standing around near the entrance waiting to be attacked.
Without a word, the Slytherin quickly drew further into the forest, searching for a good hiding place out of view of the door. That fallen log wasn't too bad, or maybe that wide tree over there... Or there was a dense group of trees over on this other side.
Yeah, that would do for now.
He moved in that direction, brushed aside a part of the thicket, and crouched down, letting the branches and leaves (mostly) conceal him.
Now just to wait for someone to pass by... "Let's go, Gryffindors!" Avalon practically bounced into the now-forest not-room, her ponytail swinging with each movement. She wore comfy, neutral-colored clothes, though she had opted to wrap a red bandanna around her head. Her red hair would probably stand out anyway, so she figured she might as well show her house pride that way. "We've totally got this, right, Idris? Diego?" She grinned. Plus all the other Gryffindors that would be joining. The others got smiles too, even if her main focus was her housemates.
And the forest. She scanned her surroundings quickly, wondering which would be the best way to head.
Well, one way to find out. Let the games begin.
She aimed in the direction of Diallo and Levi. "Pingo red!" It wasn't well aimed, so it was possible that it might've missed both of them entirely, but Avalon wasn't looking to find out. She took off at a run in a random direction.

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Professor Cox arrived just ahead of the first proper rush of students, the crunch of leaves and twigs meeting his ears as he stepped through. His hazel gaze swept instinctively upward first — habit — taking in the canopy and the scattering of enchanted light.
He positioned himself near the edge of the clearing, leaning back against the broad trunk of a tree with his arms folded loosely across his chest, expression neutral, eyes tracking movement through the brush with practiced ease.
A sharp voice cut through the air and his attention flicked immediately toward the source just in time to catch sight of Miss Dane taking off at a run, paint projectile flying in the general direction of Mr. Dreamer and Mr. Singh-Phora with more enthusiasm than precision. A faint huff of breath left him, something that might have been amusement if one were generous.
He supposed, eventually, he would ready his wand from his wrist holster...but for now he was content against his tree trunk. ■□□■ Hesitate was not a word in Calliope's vocabulary.
She barely spared the rules sign a glance and the moment the crunch of leaves replaced stone beneath her boots, her wand was up, posture sharp, and eyes scanning like she'd been dropped straight into enemy territory instead of a friendly inter-house activity. Her wrist flick without breaking a stride at the first sign of any sort of movement.
"PINGO GREEN!"
The spell snapped forward, splashing bright emerald paint across a fallen log just off the main path. Well, that one had obviously not aimed at anyone but rather was a range check. Calliope moved immediately after, her boots navigating uneven ground with practiced ease as she slipped off the obvious route and into the cover of thicker trees.
Another sharp flick of her wrist.
"PINGO GREEN! PINGO GREEN!"
Paint burst against a tree trunk while her second casting whipped by brush and further into the shadows where she heard a soft splat. A feral sort of grin ghosted across her face as she readied her wand again and shifted positions again, deeper into the forest, deliberately noisy enough to bait attention. Hide-and-seek had never been a favorite pastime of hers, could you tell?
Surely other housemates were around here somewhere—and once opposing houses revealed their positions by casting at her, she’d be more than happy to retaliate in full force. ■□□■ Iris hesitated only a moment before stepping through, her gaze flicked briefly to the rules posted ahead, then beyond them. Specifically, toward movement, voices, and the unmistakable gathering of Gryffindors already plotting something loud and coordinated. Try not to duel the furniture.
Adrian's words echoed, unwelcome and persistent, in her thoughts. Iris exhaled softly through her nose and trudged forward. Defense Against the Dark Arts had always been one of her favorite subjects, theoretically, that is, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. Knowledge was the most dangerous weapon anyone could carry, far more reliable than brute strength or flashy spellwork.
And stealth, she decided as she slipped quietly away from the forming cluster of lions, would be hers.
Keeping to the shadows cast by the thicker trees, Iris moved with care, placing each step deliberately as she searched for higher ground or dense cover... somewhere she could observe before being observed.
Perhaps she would even attempt to climb a tree to gain a higher vantage point...No. No she shouldn't do that because then she would be vulnerable without much footing.
So she walked tiptoed on in search of an advantageous hiding spot.

| Marina firsttttt *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! The crunch under her boots was enough to make one Marina García Massey excited! After skimming through the rules out of courtesy, Marina entered the forest like a bad idea that had already committed and a particular gleam of someone who intended to make this everyone else’s problem.
Before she could be super cool about it, a flash of movement caught her attention near a fallen log (Nathaniel) and then there was nothing. Marina slowed, then sped up again, caught between wanting to hide and cast the paint with reckless abandon. When another shot of paint flew past her, she aimed at random, somewhere where she had thought she had seen someone running past and sent a paint shot arcing high --- hopefully it caught someone? NATHANIEL
Also --
Was that Professor Cox? Settled with such infuriating calm against a tree trunk, arms folded, eyes already following trajectories and spell angles like this was a practical exam instead of sanctioned chaos. Marina straightened immediately, posture snapping into something approximating composure, as if the professor’s presence alone could enforce it. And then --
Wasn't he a Slytherin in his time? “PINGO RED,” she cracked the spell his way without a second thought, because wasn't that the Gryffindor way?

Collin O'Shea Owl Post | Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ Cat had no idea, truly, what she was getting herself into. She'd never once had a paintball fight. She barely even knew about the pingo spell. Still, she couldn't pass up this opportunity. She was certain it would be a learning experience, if nothing else.
She side-stepped into the forest room, keeping her back turned in whatever way felt most like wall cover. Her eyes flickered toward any movement, watching a few paintballs shoot across her field of vision. Quite a few Gryffindors, by the looks of it. And... was that Professor Cox? Cat took a second too long to verify that it was indeed their potions master, and was startled with the voice of her best friend came from nearby. She jumped slightly, but quickly realized the spell wasn't aimed toward her.
... It was house against house, though, wasn't it? So technically... "Pingo blue!" Her voice felt funny, so loud after not speaking for a time. It worked, though. Blue paint shot toward Marina.
And at just that moment, another flash of red caught her attention. Without a second thought, Cat shouted "Pingo blue," wand aimed in the direction of an older girl with a red bandana on her head (Avalon) hopefully that meant she was a Gryffindor, whoops.
Cat giggled to herself. This was fun.

| Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia After dutifully reading the sign of rules, Apollo had ventured into the forest, treading lightly. His eyes darted this way and that way, glancing at the ground to avoid breaking twigs or crunching leaves or sliding stones as much as possible. He wasn't perfect at it by any means, but he was trying.
Paintball was not something he had ever tried, but in thinking about it before the time arrived, he thought it might be useful as a new way to hone his dueling abilities. The spell, less so, but engaging with the environment? The spatial awareness? The quick reflexes?
Yes, those were useful skills to improve.
He paused when he heard a nearby casting of "Pingo green!"
That was over...there, yes! He did catch some movement beyond those trees over there (Calliope).
Apollo aimed his wand and cast, "Pingo yellow!" in that direction. --- Nathaniel was quiet, and he was watchful. There was NO way anyone was gonna wander around here without him noticing, and then he'd cast the paint spell at them, and then- SPLAT! "Merlin's SOCKS!"
Paint - seemingly having fallen from the sky??? - splattered onto the back of his head. He raised a hand up to touch it and saw the red there. Red paint.
Nathaniel scanned around and finally spotted a girl somewhat nearby. Had that come from her? Or someone else? He quickly looked over his shoulder, but didn’t spot any movement over there. Or maybe if there was, they’d already run off like a coward.
Hmph. Anyway, this was as good an opportunity as any since his cover was clearly blown. "Pingo green!" He aimed that one in Marina's direction. And then, just for good measure, in case anyone else was hanging around, he shot another "Pingo green!" in a random direction.
Then he tried to scramble out of his hiding place. --- Avalon's intention had been to run away as quickly as she could, but she underestimated just how many branches would block her way. And so there was a splat! as her back was hit by Cat's paint.
A squeak startled out of her, but then she giggled. The game really had begun, huh? Let's go!
She turned around and spotted Cat back in the direction she had come from. She didn't know for certain if the Ravenclaw had been the one to hit her - though a quick glance over her shoulder gave her a hint of blue - but either way, Avalon aimed a "Pingo red!" at the second year. Then she turned in an attempt to push further into the forest. --- Zephyr was SOOO game for this. He'd set off into the forest, wand at the ready, not really sure what his plan was, only that he wanted to get further in. That seemed like the best place to get in on the action.
His trek wasn't particularly quiet. Not that he was trying to be loud, but it seemed like every step he took snapped a twig or kicked a rock that rattled across the ground. How anyone could sneak up on anyone else in here, he didn't have a clue-
Suddenly, Iris was in sight ahead of him. Where had she come from? It felt like he hadn't seen anyone in ages somehow. But, at least it was a fellow Ravenclaw. "Iris!" He smiled, walking toward her. "Wanna partner up?" Maybe it would be better to work with a housemate. They could watch each other's backs and splatter paint on even more people that way!

| weeeeeeeeeee! astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Cox had just begun to consider whether the time had come to unholster his wand when the activity answered that question for him.
Miss García-Massey's incantation rang out with all the subtlety of a exploding cauldron. His hazel gaze swiveled toward the young Gryffindor even before the spell left her wand. Marina was many things—energetic, bold, committed—but stealthy was not presently among them.
One smooth sidestep to the right and red paint streaked past where he had been, striking the broad trunk behind him with a wet splatter. Cox glanced at the crimson smear now decorating the bark and chuckled. It had been a bold valiant effort, truly.
His wand slipped from the wrist holster in one fluid motion and two sharp precise flicks followed
"Pingo purple."
What? Professors were allow to show a little pride for themselves as well, were they not?
The first shot arced cleanly toward Miss García-Massey. The second followed a heartbeat later toward Miss Webb, who had just sent a bright streak of blue across the clearing with visible delight and announced her location. It seemed appropriate to lump the duo together.
He did not wait to see whether either connected as splat of green interrupted the moment. His eyes dropped down and there, bright against the tawny brown of his boots, was a smear of green paint across the side of his shoe.
Slowly, his gaze lifted toward Mr. Hensley, who appeared to be scrambling from behind cover with far less composure than he believed himself to possess. The game, it seemed, had indeed properly begun.
Without raising his voice, without hurrying, he adjusted his stance and began walking—not running—further into the clearing. ■□□■ The sharp crack of 'Pingo yellow!' split through the trees and Calliope didn’t think before moving.
The streak of yellow paint came slicing through the brush toward where she'd been a heartbeat earlier, but she was already twisting sideways in an exaggerated somersault. The spell burst against bark instead, splattering bright yellow across green from her earlier range check.
"Oh yessss," she hissed under her breath. "Finally."
She planted one foot against the fallen log she'd tagged earlier and vaulted, using the momentum to swing herself up and over in one fluid motion rather than ducking back into cover. Leaves scattered beneath her trainers as she landed in a low crouch, hand brushing earth just long enough to steady—
—and then she saw him.
A grin flashed across her face and, instead of retreating, Calliope charged forward straight through the uneven terrain using speed as both shield and weapon. She zig-zagged just enough to make herself an irritating target while closing the distance far more aggressively than necessary for a 'friendly match'.
"PINGO GREEN!"
The spell snapped from her wand mid-stride, aimed squarely at Apollo as she continued to advance after casting. Hide-and-seek was for people who enjoyed waiting―aka NOT her. ■□□■ Iris had just identified a cluster of low-hanging branches dense enough to provide partial cover when a sequence of unmistakable auditory disasters announced themselves behind her: the snap of a twig, the crunch of leaves, and the scatter of pebbles.
She closed her eyes briefly, almost bracing for the incoming Pingo that would surely hit her square between the shoulders soon. To her relief, it didn't. Instead she heard her name and turned turned smoothly, expression composed despite the fact that she had just nearly jumped out of her skin.
"Zephyr," she replied, with a nervous smile he approached. She studied him for half a second — wand ready, enthusiasm undampened, noise level catastrophic. "That would be... strategically sound," she conceded. "Provided we operate with some degree of coordination." Her gaze flicked past him, scanning the treeline automatically before returning. "Do you have a plan," she asked, her voice lowering instinctively as she stepped closer and leaned into his space, "or a specific target in mind?"

| *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! Oh, she saw him. “Oh we see you, Nathaniel,” Marina announced far too loudly, already moving as he aimed. She dodged the spell with more luck than skill, laughter bubbling out of her in a completely undignified fit as paint splattered harmlessly against bark behind her. She spun, triumphant, only for salvation to appear in the form of Cat across the clearing. “CAT,” she beamed, already angling toward her best friend, grin wide and hopeful. Refuge. Safety. Friendship.
Alas.
Mid-step, instinct screamed. Marina skidded sideways just as a streak of blue paint cut through the space she had been occupying a second earlier.
Oh my. “SUCH BETRAYAL!” she yelped, whirling on her heel and firing wildly, spell half-aimed and fully fueled by indignation as she tried to tag both Nathaniel and Cat in one chaotic motion. Strategy had left the premises. Vibes only.
And then devastation. The worst kind. “Wait no no NO—”
Purple paint clipped the ends of her hair as Professor Cox of all people took aim. SURE she had aimed first, but STILL. Marina shrieked and bolted, barely diving behind a tree before splatter hit bark, heart racing as she pressed her back to the trunk and clutched her wand like it had personally betrayed her. “I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIENDS!”
