Default St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries

To enter the premises of St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, one need only find a large, old-fashioned, red brick department store called Purge and Dowse Ltd. in Muggle London and step through the glass display window featuring a dummy modelling a green dress. Upon stepping through the threshold, the world you can from will have disappeared and you will find yourself in the crowded reception area that doubles as a visitors' entrance and an emergency room waiting area. There you need to speak to the Welcome Witch or wait for a Healer to collect you.

Past the reception desk and through a set of double doors lies the gateway to the rest of the hospital. The ground floor, lit by floating candles in crystal bubbles, is the Artefact Accidents corridor where the Healers deals with cauldron explosions, wands backfiring, broom crashes, etc. At the end of the corridor is another set of double doors, which beyond is a staircase that provides access to the remaining floors -- first floor, Creature-Induced Injuries; second floor, Magical Bugs and Diseases; third floor, Potions and Plant Poisoning; and fourth floor, Spell Damage.

Each floor contains a fair amount of rooms, long-term wards, and portraits. There is also bound to be a wandering patient or two. The fifth floor of the hospital, however, is less chaotic and provides a tearoom for visitors to relax as well as a shop that sells cards, balloons, and other gifts. Also located on this floor is the Midwife/Infant Care wing, a Healer break room (with sleep pods and locker rooms), and the administration offices.

In her new location once more, just inside the alcove between the display one would normally enter St. Mungo’s through and another on it’s side. Nadia had first thought to head directly inside with her apparition to lessen the chances of being seen by anyone who shouldn’t. But then she had been too concerned that the magical barrier could interfer with her apparition or she could get cut by more than just splinching in the process, so before she had finally focused on where she wanted to go, the young woman had changed her mind. And it appeared to have worked in her favor as she wasn’t out in the open.

She was also a bit more solid on her feet this time, and as her dark gaze looked around, it appeared as if there wasn’t immediately around to take notice of her surprise entrance. Cue soft exhale of breath as she awaited the appearance of the examiner. And wondered just what was up next in her planned exam. It seemed Nadia was 2 for 2 on distance.
Beitris appeared in a quiet alley across the street. Her gaze shifted to Nadia once the girl made her appearance. No visible injuries. No splinching. Her eyes flicked to the young woman's feet, noting how she remained balanced, more collected than her previous landing.

Solid arrival, Beitris noted. Not seen by Muggles. Avoided potential complications with magical barrier interferrence.

She adjusted her grip on her clipboard, making another swift note before folding it under her arm. Beitris crossed the street and approached Nadia, speaking with a tone that was brisk but not unkind. "For the final segment of your practical examination, you will demonstrate Side-Along Apparition. Your task is to take us from this location back to the Ministry testing centre, specifically within the hoop where we began."

Her pale blue eyes met Nadia's directly, the steel of her instructions clear. "Remember, this requires you to maintain focus not just on your destination, but also on your passenger. You are responsible for ensuring I arrive intact alongside you."

It went without saying that wavering would lead to failure, as would any sign of splinching. The woman, though, had confidence in the young woman standing in front of her; otherwise they wouldn't have made it this far into the examination.

The faintest lift of her chin was the only signal of readiness she gave, and her arm extended slightly, making it clear she expected Nadia to take it. "Whenever you are ready."

OOC: Feel free to make a post here with your character departing with Beitris via Side-Along Apparition and proceed to the Apparition Test Centre.

Nadia’s gaze flickered back to the alley across the street when she noticed movement, just in time for the examiner to emerge and cross the street towards her. As before, the woman was no-nonsense in her manner and speech but everything seemed alright. Of course when she mention the next and final step of her examination, the yonger girl felt the butterflies return. Side-Along Apparition…the part that always concerned her. It was one thing to have to worry about appariting yourself, but to have to be concerned for another? Basically she didn’t need Ms. Urquhart’s own reminder. “Of course,” she remarked with a slight nod to show her understanding.

This had to be perfect!

At ease, Nadia, she silently warned herself.

She gave her companion a once-over, or perhaps a twice over to add to her visualization of how they needed to be on the other end. Then at the other woman’s slight movements…the lift of the chin…the extension of the arm…Nadia took hold with her own limb and took a deep breath as she gathered herself and focused on their destination. A moment later she guided them into a turn and they disappeared with a pop.
