“Did you know there’s a language for snakes?” Vashti asked her friend Trixie as they walked up to the Hogwarts owlery.
“Parseltongue?” Trixie answered. “Yeah. Why?”
“I was reading a book about it,” Vashti explained as they reached the top of the stairs, “and I was wondering…”
“Yes?”
“Is there a language to talk to eagles?”
Trixie stared at her, looking as if she was trying not to laugh. “I don’t think so, Spatulaclaw.”
Vashti was silent for a moment before turning to an eagle owl perched beside her. “Caw! Cawcaw! Caw!”
The owl just stared at her.

"How would you get to Mars? You don't have a Rocket ship do you?.." Vashti smirked a little and raised an eyebrow.
"Well maybe I do.." Trixie retaliated. It was a lie but you know...Vashti WAS planning world Domination and all....
"Where is it then?" the Ravenclaw questioned challengingly.

“Trixie…what is that?” Vashti asked as she and her friend approached the carriages that would take them up to Hogwarts.
“What’s what?” the Slytherin asked.
“Those horse-creature things,” said Vashti, pointing to where she saw them. “They’re pulling the carriages.”
Trixie stared at the spot her fourth year friend was pointing at but said, “I don’t see anything.”
“How can you not…” She trailed off as something dawned on her and her face paled. “Oh.”
“What?”
“Nothing,” Vashti said quickly, looking away and giving the thestral a wide berth as she headed for the carriage it pulled. “It- It’s nothing.”
