Carnival Stalls & Vendors Scattered on both sides of the main stage are the carnival's biggest money makers. The stalls and vendors. The lights, bells and whistles from each stall seem to mesh together, drowning out the sounds of the petting zoo nearby, but maybe not the smell? There's hoopla, coconut shy, weight guessing, pinball racing, and of course the infamous test your strength stalls, just to name a few, all with a magical twist. For those who'd prefer a moving picture as a keepsake to the mini stuffed animal they won as a consolation prize, there's faceless standees: humorous cardboard cutouts that come in pairs or groups of three in various sizes. The photographer stands ready to snap your silly photos and greedily accept your money.OOC: Feel free to interact with the Carnival Stalls & Vendors wandering Carnie, Slick Gibbins (Anna Banana), chat, play and win a prize! ;) Remember that Snitchseeker site rules and the Diagon Alley Rules apply at all times. If you have any questions, you can ask them in the Diagon Alley Questions thread. |
Raven and her parents, Michael and Victoria Sloan, had just finished a nice dinner of fish and chips and mandrake root tea at the Carnival food stall and heard a bit of music from a one man band. They were having a great day. Her parents were finally warming up to the idea that she was a witch and was going to Hogwarts all by herself. They rode on the carousel together and they were staying at the leaky couldron. They still hadn't gotten all of her school supplies and they were staying in Diagon Alley until the train came. They were from America and her parents were both professors at a public university in Virginia. They were taking a leave of absence to study some cave paintings in France but were taking off a month to see Raven off for her first year of Hogwarts. They began to wander around the market stalls of the carnival and were looking for some school supplies. Raven said... "At least if we got it here we wouldn't have to look for it later." She didn't know where to look though. So they just started wandering around. |
For anyone :xd: Shopping on Diagon Alley was rapidly becoming one of Ari's favourite times of the year. This time, her attention was grabbed by the newest addition to the old street: a carnival! She had been to a Muggle one years ago, but the girl had the feeling that this would be way more interesting. On the other hand, Ariadne was a little overwhelmed by the noise, the large number of attractions and the huge crowds. If only she had her mother around to help her find her way around! But unfortunately, the woman was withdrawing some money from Gringotts at the time. Eventually, after a long while struggling to decide where to start, Ari went to look at some jewelry stands in front of her, wondering if the objects were veritable. Her mother did promise her a great birthday gift of her choice, but she'd better choose wisely. But the prospect of receiving a gift wasn't the only thing which prompted Ari's uncharacteristic enthusiasm; she was even more excited about the possibility of seeing some of her friends on Diagon Alley or even make new ones. |
Mind if I? :) Quote:
She still had a lot of birthday money left over and being her she first went over to the stalls. She ran forward and accidently bumped into another girl. "Oh, sorry!" she said turning to face the girl. Why did she always do that? |
Ariadne and Rose! This place was noisy! Mordred winced at the lights, the people, the chaos and all the stuff that was going on around him. A balloon man, a mime, a contortionist..."What is this place?" he asked Rose who was still dragging him around as he looked around him. Mordred and his family toured almost every country there is, but never got the chance to attend an event such as a carnival. His curiosity got the best of him, and wanted to try this new custom. He looked at Rose who seem to be very familiar with the place. "Do you always go to carnivals? When you are with your family?" he asked. Quote:
"Rose, this is Ariadne. I'm sure you've met since the two of you are from the same house." he said as he looked at both girls. "How was your summer Ari?" he asked. |
Quote:
'Oh, hey Ari! Yeah, we've met before, mutual friends of Gwen!' Rose laughed. |
Quote:
"Maybe you should shop for birthday gifts here." he suggested as he scanned the area. Candies, Stuffed Toys, Jewelries, Hats...everything was in this place. Too bad he doesn't have anyone to buy stuff for. He already bought Aurora a birthday present from Egypt. His cousins brought home loads of souvenirs, as well as his parents. As he turned around, a very tall man passed over them. Seeing that he was on stilts, he whispered to Rose; "That man's been drinking Skele-Gro 24/7." with a straight face. |
Quote:
'No, just try not to look up. Learnt THAT the hard way!' Rose giggled. 'Yeah, the twins'll get annoyed if I don't get 'em anything...' Rose sighed. |
Quote:
'You go to Hogwarts, right? You do seem familiar, are you by any chance in Gryffindor?' Ariadne asked, associating the face with places where she had seen it before. Quote:
Nodding for confirmation, Ari smiled at Rose, whom she had indeed met at school. 'My summer was lovely, I went to Wales with my mum, and then I had a few friends over at our place.' she replied. 'How was yours? Did you just get here, on Diagon Alley?' Ari wanted to know. 'What do you think of this carnival?' the girl asked, unsure about her own opinion. Quote:
|
Quote:
"I'm fine. I really am sorry though. I'm always bumping into things." It was true. She was so clumbsy. "These stalls look amazing." she agreed noticing the girls tone. "I like the look of the hoopla..." "Yeah I am!" she said, smiling that someone actually sort of recognized her. "I'm Emily. Your in Gryffindor too right?" she asked holding out her hand to shake. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
'Yes, proud Gryffindor as well. Pleased to meet you, Emily. I'm Ariadne Marchbanks, or Ari, for short.' the girl introduced herself, shaking her housemate's hand. 'What year are you in?' Ariadne wondered, unable to venture a guess. Quote:
|
Quote:
"Yeah very interesting." she said trying to get back into her usual cheerful self. "Cool glowworm sticks!" she picked on up. She was not very mature for her age. "I really want to buy some more sweets, but my parents waarned me not to. They're sick of having to take me to the dentist!" Sweets were just so damn tasty! Especially carnival food! "Nice to meet you too!" she smiled at Ariadne. "I'm going into my third year." Though she didn't look 13. She hated being so short. "What about you?" |
Quote:
Sweets! Ari could totally relate to having a sweet tooth. 'I adore sweets too! I eat lots of chocolate, but my mum uses a charm on my teeth to keep them healthy. I've never been to the dentist.' the girl admitted, thinking Emily might be Muggleborn but unwilling to ask her if that was right. 'One year younger than you, then. I'm going into my second year, happy that I'm done being amongst the youngest students.' she replied, thinking how lost and clueless she had felt on her first days at Hogwarts. 'Do you think they've changed the weird Ministry Professors this year? I don't think I can take anymore of Shaw.' the girl sighed, hoping he was, indeed, replaced. |
Quote:
"So did you have a good first year?" she asked. She could remember hers like it was yesterday. The excitment, the nervousness, meeting new people. She smiled. "Oh I don't think they're back this year. I hope not anyway. Shaw with his chainsaw was just plain scary!" She'd dreaded his classes all year. And the ministry had hired him? |
Ellie had been eyeing the different stalls and things for a while, but she finally decided to go over and take a look at all the little trinkets. Walking down the row of stalls, she found a table that she liked. It was covered in a bunch of different kinds of jewelry and pretty things. Whether they were actually real, Ellie had no idea, but they probably cost far too much. But, that's how these people made their money. Cheap stuff at an extremely high price. |
Ah. The stalls! Kana was a pro at these, even from a young age. Of course, if you thought MUGGLES fixed the games, imagine what could be done with magic! But they surely must know better than to go overboard. Anyone walking by who knew what they were doing could counter those spells...right? Being summer, Kana could not wear her usual black hoodie. That plus the heat meant Kit was not with her this time, as she had been during her first year shopping. Kannalynne wore a black tee-shirt that left her pale arms exposed, much to her discomfort, and dark skinny jeans. She would wear a tee-shirt, but she would NOT wear shorts or a skirt, or even capris. NO. On her feet were the usual black tennis shoes. The only thing about the girl that wasn't monochrome was her air, which had been dyed a bright neon red. She mozied along slowly. The trick was to look uninterested, and they, desperate for customers and money, would come to YOU. That's just how it worked. So she folded her arms and walked forward aimlessly, giving only a passing glance to the most eye-catching stalls. For a 12-year-old, she knew how the world worked. In the back of her mind, she was remembering the stalls she genuinely wanted to try. |
Quote:
Approaching the girl saw another one standing there and a wide smile crept on her face as she recognized her."Elllieeee",the blonde waved as she was within hearing distance,"heeeeyy youu."They hadnt met up in ages, they totally should hang out waaay more often.Seriously. |
Ari and Rose! Sorry for the late reply. Quote:
Awkward. He suddenly felt he's too tall for his age. Quote:

Mordred looked around him some more, "This place is a bit...weird. Chaotic, even. But I'd like to explore it more. I believe this to be a muggle tradition?" he asked. He didn't expect to immerse himself in such customs, but he's slowly realizing that he must have missed out on a lot of fun, mainly because he's trapped inside an old (and boring) wizarding world. And if he wanted to become an Auror one day, he believes he needs such immersion to understand fully his future duty. Quote:
Quote:
Mordred frowned at Rose. "Hey. It's not 'Hug a Slytherin Day' today. And if they plan on doing that in school again-- I'll make sure to lock myself in the Room of Requirements." he said as he does not want to have multiple mini heart-attacks in one day. Oh, the paranoia. |
Willaim is hopingWitsy geets here quickly. |
Roro and robbie. Delilah Moretti was not USUALLY one to spend an afternoon off of work at a carnival, but well, there she was. It was actually rather large and impressive, so she supposed it was alright. Casting her dark eyes in the direction of the man who was walking with her, Delilah raised an eyebrow, "Are you going to win me a prize?" Wasn't that kind of his JOB, being her boyfriend and all? She was expectant. |
Quote:
He cast his eyes about for a stall with a great big stuffed monkey for a prize... or at least one that had a game he could surely win. "Will you buy me a cotton candy if I win you something?" PUHLEEEEZ? |
Debs <3! Nikolas was excited by this carnival here in Diagon Alley! It was simply AWESOME! nothing interesting had happened this morning until he find out this. He walked beside the stalls, looking at everything, he should win a prize... for who? for HIM! Oh yes. This was the best part of being half-and-half, he knew a lot of things more than all this young wizards and witches about muggles which they would find out amazing, even more than this carnival and also he had the wizarding world which was even MORE amazing. He definitely was lucky. Now let's see what to do here. |
Quote:
She tugged on his hand to bring him closer so that she could whisper into his ear, "Better watch out for these carnies, I hear they're not very trust worthy folk." And, Delilah was suspicious. |
Quote:
Yes, Robbie did just call himself a studmuffin. He almost giggled at her whispering and gave her hand a squeeze. "Don't worry, dear, I'll protect you from those pick pockets." That was another part of a boyfriend's job. |
Quote:
Delilah didn't need protecting, she could kick butt. But it was sweet and she was going to let Robbie think that she did. "Where first?" |
Quote:
'Yes, I did, overall...I started exploring the castle with a friend, it was fascinating, but we still haven't seen half of it! And I was very curious to see what subjects I'll be good at. The whole pirate thing got me confused, though. In fact, I'm still not sure I understand what was going on.' Ariadne confessed, blushing a bit. 'Oh, that's good! I think I would actually like Transfiguration and DADA if taught by competent professors.' the second year Gryffie mused. 'What did you think of the subjects in your first year?' Ari asked Emily. Quote:
Quote:
'Oh, I like to shop, but the carnival is distracting me.' the girl chuckled. 'I suppose it is a muggle tradition, yes. When I was younger, my mum was adamant to teach me as much as possible about the muggle world, and she also took me to a carnival, but all I can remember was a gypsy fortune-teller. She was a fraud, of course. I don't suppose they have one here.' Quote:
|
Quote:
There was actually a carnival over there! And it was amazing! Nora just loved cheerful and colorful things like this, even though she'd never been to a carnival before. Wasn't this a muggle thing? But muggle or not, she was more than happy to see one. The first place she went to explore were the stalls and the vendors, of course. And she wasn't alone either. Elijah was admiring everything as he was in her small bag, and to her surprise, he wasn't even trying to escape. Well... what would the others think if they'd see a tiny lizard move around Diagon Alley on its own will? Since she was distracted by everything that was surrounding her, she didn't quite pay attention to what she was stepping on. ... until she felt something awkward... feet. Why did she keep stepping on people's feet?! The girl gasped and stepped away quickly, and then turned around to see on whose feet she stepped this time. At least she didn't scream, which was an improvement. But... she had to look uuuuup, of course, since she was so short. "I - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to -" give you a bad feet..ache?! Nice. That was juuust nice. |

"I know how you feel! I've been there two years and still carn't find my way around! I swear that castle is growing!" It sure felt like it. "And the library! It's huge! My ambition is to try to read all of it before I leave." She laughed a bit as she checked her pocket for any money. She douted she'd do it, but she just loved to read so much! "I love charms. And I'm surprisingly good at it! If you need any help with practicing, I'm your girl." Damn, that had come out a bit boastful. She hadn't meant it to at all. "Um... yeah, Transfiguration is good. So is Care of Magical Creatures. I love learning about magical animals!" She passed some money over and pocketed the glowworm stick. "What about you?" |
Quote:
'Hmm... If I'm not gonna get you on hug a Slytherin day... I shall do now!' Rose smiled evily. Then. She hugged Mordred. See what he thinks of THAT! Quote:
'Too late!' Rose laughed in acknoledgement of her telling Rose not to scare him. 'I probably scared him when I first met him!' Rose laughed |
Quote:
Then, Rose hugged him. What is it with girls and hugging anyway? That he needs to find out. He was about to ask the girls, but Rose's confession was too hard to miss. "You went out with him? You were his girlfriend?" Mordred said almost laughing as he broke away from Rose's hug--totally forgetting about it. "How terrible was he? What did he do this time?" he asked. He never witnessed his cousins woo a girl, so he doesn't have any idea what it takes to be a terrible boyfriend. He then approached one of the stalls selling an over-sized wizard's hat. He never wore their pointed school hat, but the one he spotted was way too cool to not at least try on. He got it off the table and wore it, but the hat was too big that it literally engulfed his head. Pulling it off his face, "So, Rose --if you went out with William, then it means that somehow--you were attracted to him. Right?" he asked totally being ignorant about those things. To him, it was all logic. |
Oooh what was there to buy? Shopping was fun as long as there was something that he liked or loved. Hmmm. Anything good? Naaw that right now at the least. Hmm. *thinks* |

Quote:
"Fine. How miserable were you that Rose got fed up?" he said as he faced the boy squarely. "You really must be terrible." he said as he looked at him from head to foot, crossed his arms and smirked. Rose seemed hurt when she mentioned him. And if there is someone to tell him the truth, it must be Mordred. |
Quote:
Then Mordred said something about atttraction? 'Somehow, I guess. Don't ask me what to, I'll never know.' Rose grinned. 'I usually prefer boys with dark hair, not blondies.' Rose laughed. 'Why?' Rose asked. Quote:

Ariadne listened intently to the boy describing his experiences in Egypt, and her wish to visit the place herself increased. 'Were you able to decipher the hyeroglyphs? Are they something like Runes?' Ari wondered, remembering she was rubbish at Ancient Runes at school. 'Yeah, a fortune-teller. She asked me my day and time of birth and based on that, she told me I would inherit a huge sum of money. Riiiight.' Ari waved a hand in disbelief. 'I can't imagine how muggles actually believe things like that.' But Divination was different. 'I quite like the subject. It's not that much about seeing the future as it is about interpreting signs. To me, it is similar to Arithmancy, which uses numbers as signs with deeper meanings.' the Gryffie argued. 'No, he didn't use his lines on me. I reckon he doesn't like me, but I'm perfectly fine with that. We haven't spoken much, and truth be told, he was pretty civil, but that doesn't mean that I approve of his behaviour.' Ari replied, hoping Mordred wouldn't consider her a snob for hating someone she hardly knew. Quote:
'Fancy that! Gryffindors in general aren't known as avid readers, I thought I was one of the very few to enjoy reading, but I'm glad you do too. What kind of books are your favourite?' Ariadne asked with curiosity. 'I'm not spectacular at Charms, but I manage. With your help, I might improve.' Ari said sincerely. 'Maybe there's something I could do for you in return.' she offered. 'I need Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures, as my dream career is to become a wandmaker.' the young Gryffie confessed, hoping Emily wouldn't react surprised, as it wasn't a very common profession even in the wizarding world. 'What would you like to do?' Quote:

He smirked at a mime and walked over to a dude who looked kinda excited at the sight of the silent actor. Then yer man walked away and James practically had to almost run to catch up. He was kinda in need of someone to talk to. Then the shoe lace of his converse got in his way and he tripped but quickly caught himself before falling on top of the dude - only pushing the guy slightly. "Sorry man. Tripped on my shoelace... Hey did you see anything sorta cheap 'round here?" |
Quote:
Before Jasper could anywhere he was falling on the hard ground. DUDE!! What was that. That was just plain random!! Then he heard a voice and he began to listen. At least the guy said sorry most people would just get up and walk away and that was like a hit and run in the muggle world but no one died or got hurt here. Just his hair was a mess. Jasper fixed his pretty boy hair and looked at the kid. He had to be a couple years younger that he was. |
Quote:
'I met him on the Hogwarts Express, on the way there,' Rose grinned at Ari 'but didn't get to see him after that. Then I saw him in Florean Fortescues!' Rose smiled over at Mordred. |
Quote:
"Oh you enjoy reading too?!" This got her excited. Everyone else she seemed to know hated to read. "I'm an absolute fanatic when it comes to books! I'll read anything and everything, though I do enjoy Hogwarts: A Histoy. That's always a good read." In fact she had it in bag right now. She'd lost count of how many times she'd read it. "What about you?" "Oh it's fine." Emily said blushing slightly "I just like to help people out if they're stuck. It's nice to be nice after all!" That was becoming something of a motto for her at the moment. "You want to be a wandmaker? That's so cool!" She was being serious. She'd read a few books on wandlore and it sounded very exciting. "I'm not sure. This may be surprising but I've always found dragons interesting! Mabye I'd go work with them or something..." She hadn't really given much thought into a future career, but that was something that had always stayed in her mind since she'd first read about them. |

He glared at William, "Nobody talks to me that way. If you wish to confront me about something, then you should at least have the decency to introduce yourself first." he addressed to William, and with a smirk, he turned his back to him and shut him out of the conversation. "I don' mind you being muggleborn, as long as you're not rude." he said glancing at the blond boy behind him. Quote:
"The hieroglyphs were extraordinary. Yes, it's pretty much like Arithmancy but deciphering the drawings is tricky business. It could mean a lot; it could have thousands of interpretations! And we're talking about magic here. If you read it wrong, or interpreted it wrong-- the dead mummy will be doomed. You don't want that to happen." he said as he shook his head. "Although, I found this manuscript from their local market. They don't know the author, they don't even know the language used!" he said as he scratched his nose. Quote:

Quote:
'I should think not.' Rose said plainly. 'No-one should be rude to anyone, it's just plain...' Rose tried to think of another word than 'rude' but settled with it, 'rude!' Rose laughed. 'Well, thank you, Sir Mordred, your acceptance means a lot!' Rose giggled, courtseying. 'Well, I'm not rude, unless someone gets on my wrong side.' Rose said darkly, glancing at William. 'HEY! You'll know! What's a Veela?' Rose asked Mordred. 'I remember his mum telling me they were all Veelas, what does that mean?' Rose asked, cocking her head to one side. |
Quote:
"How have you been?" Ellie asked. They hadn't hung out in ages. It was really a shame because Fee was just so adorable. |
For Icha :) Emmaleigh had heard that there was a carnival in town, and when she heard sounds unusual to Diagon Alley, she followed the noise until she arrived in the middle of the carnival. This was a new one for her. The only carnival she had even gone to was the small local one near her town, and it definitely wasn't a magical carnival. Not knowing where to go first, she decided to look bat some of the stalls set up in the street. |
Quote:

Nessie excitedly wandered around the Carnival. She was glad she had something to do, because all she could think about was Tyler and Rose. She deffinitely needed a break. She headed over to the Carnival stalls. They all looked very interesting. She looked at them all trying to decide which stall would be the most fun. Then it came back to her, she remembered everything. About a year ago, she was a cute little innocent first year that was friendly and a true Hufflepuff. Now she felt like the worst friend ever. She didn't know why she did, what she did to Rose, but for some reason she felt she needed to. She carried on walking trying not to think about anything, except for the Carnival stalls. |

The place was cheerful, every wizard and witch was enjoying and who wouldn't? The weather was perfect and he felt like nothing could go wrong. Nikolas stopped by this huge stall and he was about to admire everything in it but...someone stepped on his feet. OUCH. He looked around to see who had done it, his feet was hurting but wasn't to show any sign of pain. Nikolas finally found the cause of this...it was a girl, younger than him. He wasn't going to yell at her "Better watch out next time" he replied "But it's okay, it wasn't that bad" he hoped. |
Quote:
Nora nodded quickly, but still felt terrible. "I'm sorry," she mumbled again, promising to herself that she'll never look up again when she was walking. It would be just the ground and her feet. Nothing else to stare at. "What is this place?" The girl asked before she could stop herself, trying to keep her voice down. "I mean... has it always been here?" She was talking about the carnival, of course. Let's just hope that he'll think about it as well, or else they'll have a really stupid conversation. |
Elaina was getting back into the Wizarding World and there was no better place than to go to Diagon Alley. With a pocketful of gold, she went out in search of a few things here and there, but she never expected to come across a carnival. "Oh, how wonderful!" she said to herself. She couldn't help, but find herself drawn the vendors. She was always looking for the next little trinket to go around her neck or accessory to show off. Candy? She had no taste for it. Firecrackers? No, way too dangerous. Stuffed animals? Those must be for the kiddies. And then she stopped in front of some jewelry. They weren't your typical styles sold in muggle stores. "Is there anyone around to help me with a necklace?" She looked to her right and left and hoped someone nearby could help her as she clutched her small purse in her hand. |

I'm different... mess with a lion, you'll get bitten first time round...' Rose said darkly. 'Mordred? Why do most of the Slytherins hate the Gryffindors and most Gryffindors hate Slytherins albeit relationships? You guys don't seem so bad!' Rose grinned nudging him |

A gust of wind swept over them and Rose trembled a little. "Why did you not bring one?" he asked. Suddenly remembering his etiquette, he removed his Slytherin cloak and offered it to Rose. "Go on." he said with a grin. "Be a Slytherdor for a day." He then tried to think of a clever answer to her question. "Well, some people were born and made to be evil. Something about balance and all that." he said as he looked at the sky. "This place will be boring if everyone's good and perfect. Right?" Why do Slytherins hate Gryffindors? "Well, there are some in your house that can get really arrogant. Just because Harry Potter was in your house." he said bluntly. "Just like what I said, not everyone's perfect. We have a fair share of arrogant students in our house as well. And I'm sure the Huffs and the Ravenclaws have them as well." he shrugged. "But Gryffindor and Slytherin students are the two of the most competitive houses in Hogwarts. Hate between the houses is expected." "I'm hungry." he said as he placed his hand on top of his stomach. "You said you know your way around here, right? How about we get something to eat? My treat." he offered. |
Lauren ambled slowly down the aisle of stalls and vendors, trying her hardest to absorb everything: all the colours and sounds and delicious smells! She really wished her father had joined her shopping today, this was the type of thing that he absolutely lived for. Perhaps she should buy him a souvenir! Meanwhile, she scanned the crowd for anyone her age, keen to meet any peers before she had to live with them! |

'So you've known him almost as long as I have. We met at Scribbulus'. I couldn't reach the top shelves.' the girl remembered with a grin. 'Hey, who's that girl William is dating? Is she in our House?' Ariadne wondered out loud. Quote:
'I guess it's because of my mother; she's a bookshop owner, I practically grew up amongst books.' Ari explained her passion for reading. She nodded when Emily mentioned Hogwarts: A History, as it was one of her favourites as well. 'I enjoy historical books the best.' Speaking of which, she really needed to get a new book to read on the way to Hogwarts. 'It's nice to be nice indeed.' Ari laughed. It was something rather obvious, but she'd never thought of it before. Emily seemed like a really cool person. 'Wow, dragons? Sounds dangerous, no wonder you're a Gryffindor if that's what you want to do in life!' Ari said, amazed. Quote:
'You're right, of course. I haven't thought about that.' she commented while studying the manuscript her Slytherin friend was holding. 'Hmm. Very interesting. Maybe if you talk to Madam Donovan she might help.' Ariadne suggested, as she was pretty fond of her Head of House. 'He had no right to talk to you like that. It was outrageous!' Ari said, annoyed. 'If he hadn't treated me like an invisible person, I would've given him a piece of my mind. You acted right.' she added, noting that it was really tacky of William to be parading in front of Rose accompanied by his new girlfriend. |
Quote:
Then Mordred passed her his cloak. 'Proper gentleman aren't you!' Rose blushed. 'Are you sure? Won't you be cold?' Rose asked worriedly. 'W-Well, um, OK... thank you!' Rose beamed gratefully as she put the cloak around her shoulders. Warmth spread through her in a flash. 'OMGosh! Thank you!' Rose smiled. 'When you want it back, feel free to ask!' Rose grinned. 'I'm an official Slytherdor!' Rose lauughed. 'Right, I'm gonna hug you now, OK?' Rose laughed as she hugged Mordred. Letting go of him she listened to him say about perfectness and stuff. 'I agree!' Rose nodded fervently. 'I'm not perfect, no matter what people say! I've always got friends complimenting me, you know 'Rose, everyone would like you, you're pretty and funny etcetera' and I'm just going, 'no, I'm not...'' Rose said. 'Whos Harry Potter? Is he that dude that defeated Voldemort? Well, you know, I don't hate you, right?' Rose told him, worried he might think she was prejudiced against Slytherins. Rose beamed, realising how hungry she was. 'Sure! So, around the carnival, right?' Rose clarified. Quote:
'That's Witsy. That's the one he dumped for me.' Rose said bluntly. 'I'm surprised she took him back, he left her for me, then tried to go out with someone else, then went out with a different person, then told another girl he liked her, then, when all options were out, he went back to her.' Rose laughed. |

Emily squealed and almost jumped up in glee. "No way! You mam owns a bookshop?!" She was so excited she had met a fellow book lover like Ari. "If I knew someone who owned a book shop I don't think I'd ever leave!" she laughed. She wasn't kidding though. "Read many muggle books? I did before, of course, I got my letter." That really may her sound like a muggle born, but she didn't care. Wuthering Heights was one of her favourite books - She was even named after it! She continued to roll the glow stick beween her hands as she smirked at Ari's reaction. "Thanks. I haven't really given it much thought to be honest, I just know they're my favourite magical creature... hey, if you ever need the heartstring for you wands..." She laughed again at the thought. How did they do that anyway? |

"Of course, your head of house! I plan on visiting the library as soon as Hogwarts is open." Mordred then kept the manuscript. "I made a promise to Julian that I will return it to him if I fail on finding information about it." he said. "Oh, Julian is my cousin from Durmstrang. I'm not sure if I mentioned him to you already." Mordred smirked and turned to see where the blond boy went. "Well, he was a coward. He thought I wasn't going to tell it to his face." Mordred grinned. "I was expecting more from him, since he was the one who confronted me." he said shaking his head. "What a prat." he thought. "By the way, Rose and I will get something to eat. You have to come along with us." Mordred smiled. "I don't know anything about muggle junk food." he said as he eyed the food stalls. Well, he's up for the challenge. He's one growing boy after all. "I don't know what's happening to me. I'm always hungry!" he confessed. Quote:
"Compliments are good. But don' let it get in to your head." he said as he tapped the side of his temple with his finger. "Some people can be unbearable just because they think they are perfect." he said frowning. Mordred then stared at her. "You don't know who Harry Potter is?" he asked with surprise. "He was the one who defeated Voldemort, yes." he nodded. "They said in the books that he was supposed to be housed in Slytherin, but the sorting hat changed its mind and placed him in Gryffindor instead." he added. Mordred tilted his head. "If you hate me, then you wouldn't be talking to me right now." he said with a grin. "I'd like to try the food this place has to offer. I suppose they sell muggle junkfood?" he asked. "Well, as long as it's edible, I'm game." he said as he looked at the food stalls. Quote:

'Oh, I know...' Rose said darkly thinking about William. HE thought he was perfect... Vain, is what Rose called it. 'Muggleborn, remember?' Rose asked with a 'duh!' expression on her face. 'Aw, your face then! Priceless! Well, there you go, Slytherins and Gryffindors are pretty much the sort of same thingy then, aren't they?' Rose smiled. 'I don't know, we were talking to William...' Rose grinned back at him. 'Yup, 'muggle' junkfood galore!' Rose said putting emphasize on muggle. 'Well, I'm going to have to insist on linking arms then! I'll feel like going on the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz, which I've always wanted to do!...' Hey! She could be Dorothy! Rose giggled. 'You coming Ari?' Rose grinned offering an arm out to her. Yes. Rose was a weirdo and proud! Then Rose laughed as Mordred got confused about them talking. 'Basically, he's a player...' Rose laughed |

Witsy gave a curtsy as William complimented her. "My mum, made it for me. It's my favorite dress." Inside the box was filled with a clear liquid. Turn it upside down, shake it, or trying to scoop it out by hand the water won't escape or disappear. The person holing it will see changes in the water (like color or even sometimes shapes or figures) only that person holding it can see. It's meant as a guide to whatever's on your mind. If you chose to have other people see what's in it with you they merely put their hands with you. Some of the water can evaporate depending on anger, the water lost doesn't get replaced but that once the box is completely empty, the entirety of it shifts to something different. "It's a little trinket, my mum used to carry, said it was helpful in good times." |

With a soft hoot that was possible drowned out by all the carnival sounds, he gracefully descended, circling the girl overhead twice, and dropping the letter when she noticed his presence. He circled once more, and then gave his large wings a great flight, pulling himself back into the sky. Quote:

The last time the blonde came to carnival was a long time ago when she's a little girl so Freya didn't remember much about it but she was pretty sure this carnival was a lot better than the last carnival she was into. She decided to check the stalls and vendors first maybe she could find some good stuffs. When she was looking around the stalls for something good, her eyes caught someone familiar. "Emma!!" she shouted and made her ways toward her Hufflepuff friend. "Where have you been? I missed you." she said before encasing Emma in a hug. |
This area looked rather interesting and also appeared to be quite popular with the people attending the carnival. It was bright, loud and perfect for getting lost in the crowd. Damien probably wouldn't play too many of the games, but it fun was to watch others try and win those big prizes. He wondered if Isobel would appreciate someone winning her a prize. Probably more so from her boyfriend -- The thought left a bad taste in his mouth just thinking about it. Clearly he needed something to take his mind of the whole situation. And this place seemed perfect. |
Amy LOVED the fair. Any fair. They were cool, and you could scream and laugh and no one stared at you lke you were an idiot. Which was a relief, because most people did think she was an idiot...well, she was an idiot, but still. She desperatley wanted to go on the coaster, but Sammy was a wimp, her mum was pregnant and her dad was downright refusing to go on it. Moping, she headed to the stalls. She needed a willing... And there he was DAAAMIIIIEEEENNNNAmy squealed, spotting the familiar person who was constantly reminding her about not falling out of trees. Though as she had said, it was only once and she'd meant to do it.. |

" Ok, shake it, turn it upside down or try to scoop the eater out and the water will not escape , but the person that has it will see changes of colors or shapes or figures, right?" Wiliam asked Witsy. William shook it and he saw a light blue color. " I am calm now "William smiled. Here try it with me, ok?" William asked Witsy. " O promise to keep this trinket almost compltetly filled" Willaim beamed at Witsy. He hugged her tight. |

Just as she was about to introduce herself, the other girl had managed to first. Raven..hmm pretty name she thought. She noticed the girl did look a little short. She was probably around eleven. Nessie herself was twelve, but she was a little tall for her age. She smiled as her guess of Raven's age was confirmed, Raben had said she was going to be a first year. "Nice to meet you Raven." Nessie answered back. "Im Renesmee Talya Dixon, but you can call me Ness or Nessie for short." she then continued. "Im in fir..second year." she cahnged midway almost forgetting she wouldn't be a first year anymore. Quote:
"So you're both first years right?" she asked. She was trying to help her sister make friends for next year. Her and her sister were both quite friendly, but it always nice to have a little head start. So all Nessie would have to do is introduce Juliet to Anna and Raven, instead of Juliet having to go and find friends. She looke at the two, deciding to continue. "Well, I have a sister thats going to be in first year this up coming term". |

She nodded her head answering Anna's question. This was working out great. They had already asked when they could meet her. "Um.. I'm not sure yet, but I'll make sure we organise something." She couldn't wait to tell her sister. She would be over the moon, when she heard about it. "No, we don't really look much alike, I look more like my dad and she looks more like mom." Most people could barely tell the two were sisters. They looked more like cousins. |

Still, it made him laugh. No one had ever been that excited to see him except for Isobel -- No. Wait. No. He was here to try and get his mind of her. "Heya, Amy," he said, Irish accent flowing through. "Take it you're erm ... rather excited about the carnival coming around town, huh?" That was an understatement. |
Quote:
Are you mad, I'm insanely excited she said, grinning and bouncing on the spot, she took him in again. But you don't look quite so excited...she trailed off, utterly confused. How could you not be excited about rides and candyfloss? |

Ari's head started spinning after she had asked about Witsy. She noticed Mordred's confused look and chuckled, realizing she was almost as confused as him. Which meant she really needed to spend more time amongst girls. 'So...let me see if I get this. He dated Witsy, broke up with her and dated you afterwards. After you two broke up, he dated three more girls before returning to the same Witsy?' she asked for clarification. Ariadne wondered when William had the time to go to classes and do homework with so much dating. Quote:
'It's not big or anything, it's just a regular village bookshop, except for the fact that it only sells magical books. I didn't really have the chance to read Muggle books.' Ariadne admitted. 'Last year in Muggle Studies when we were discussing Muggle fairytales I felt lost.' Which was a bitter feeling for someone like Ariadne, who wanted to be good at everything. Ari laughed heartily at Emily's joke. 'Then I'll know who to come to.' she finished the sentence. 'Do you know what kind of training it takes to work with dragons?' the girl wondered, pretty sure that a mere Hogwarts graduate was not ready for that without supplementary training. Quote:
Back to talking about Madam Donovan, a safe and neutral topic of conversation. 'She was acting weird at the end of the year, but I trust she's back to normal now. I'm sure she'll be able to help. Then you can pride yourself in solving the mystery before your cousin. You've mentioned your cousins before, but not by name, I think. How are they?'Aaand, how's Chloe?' Ariadne asked, remembering what Mordred needed from the stationery shop the day they've met. 'A Gryffindor coward.' Ari replied bitterly. 'Why does he have to be in our House?' she complained. But if she considered all circumstances, the boy had earned a lot of points for Gryffindor, which was possibly why Ari disliked him even more, as he had more points than herself. But Gryffindor didn't get the Cup, so what did it matter, anyway? Right? Ari appreciated the invitation, but asked cautiously: 'Are you sure you want me to tag along? I don't want to be a bother.' Mordred and Rose have set that plan before seeing her at the carnival, so it was polite to ask first. |
Quote:
Rose shrugged. 'D'you wanna come? If so, you're not a bother! If you can stick my lifellong dream of linking arms and pretending we're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz! It's a Muggle movie...' Rose laughed |
Quote:
Ooof Well that was unexpected. The only other person he's ever hugged was Isobel. So when Amy literally jumped on him, he was slightly taken aback, but smiled nonetheless. And of course she was excited. Damien percieved Amy to be an over-the-top girl, yet in a good way. Happy and excited. Which made her a good person. Damien shrugged his shoulders before rubbing the back of his neck. "Don't get me wrong, it is rather exciting. There's so much to see and a lot to experience. Opportunities to meet up with old friends and possibly make new ones --" It was true, though. He wasn't, as Amy put it, 'quite excited' about the carnival. "I guess I've got a few things on my mind. My hopes were that the carnival would be able to get rid of those things." |
Pepe stepped into the carnival area with Less on his arm. It was almost like being a teenager again and he found himself nearly laughing out loud with the hilarity of it. "Well, here we are. Now where's the food?" he said, this time actually laughing as his stomach growled. |

"Yes, muggle junkfood FEST." he emphasized as he tapped his pocket full of coins. "Wizard of who? Or is it a 'what'?" he asked in a confused tone. "Link arms? Yellow brick road?" he thought as he looked at the pavement of the carnival. He was sure there was no yellow road. "Er...I think I'll skip that part." he said. "Yeah, she could be Dorothy...whoever she is." he continued as he looked at Ari. He was pretty sure she knows Oz and Dorothy. Quote:
"Miss Donovan will be of great help, I'm sure. I'm just psyched to find out what it means. It must be a code. Or even instructions in brewing a potion." he said shrugging. "My cousins? They are here in London, preparing for their next term." he said as his face fell. He wanted to attend the same school as his cousins, but it's impossible now since he will be starting his second year in Hogwarts in a few days. Then she mentioned Chloe. He looked at his shoes as he tried his best to tell Ari how Chloe is doing. Sad thing is, he doesn't know. "I...well, sent her letters overseas, but I never got a reply." he said in a soft tone. "I kept thinking that Xchylar gets intercepted everytime..." he said as he trailed off, remembering his owl. "Weird thing is, Xchylar did not seem tired, or hungry after a long flight. It could mean that Chloe gets my owl, feeds him, then let him fly back to me." he continued. "Sadly, there's no letter attached to his leg upon his return...up until now." he said as he looked away, blushing once more. "I guess...I'm already forgotten." he said and looked at Ari with a sad smile. He sighed, and said "I don' want him in our house either." he smirked. Mordred was just thankful the boy wasn't sorted in Slytherin. He really can't stand such rude people. "We're hungry, and I'm sure you are too." he said as he brushed away the thought of his ex-best friend. "Besides, I don't know much about muggle junkfood. I'm sure you'll be of a great help in introducing those to me." he said as he smiled. "Oh and..." he said as he leaned closer to Ari. "Who is Oz? Er..and Dorothy? Yellow brick road? I don't know what Rose is talking about anymore." he said in a whisper. |
Quote:
'Muggle movie, and too bad!' Rose laughed as she linked his arm and spun walked in a circle, him forceably following due to the fact she wasn't letting go. As they were walking in circles Rose carried on. 'No! I'm Dorothy!' Rose moaned. 'That means I get a dog called TOTO!' Rose grinned, starting to get dizzy. |
Quote:
Awww, but see thats why you should go to the carnival, because it's good fun, Amy nodded, and look, she pointed to the stalls, you can get candy floss and glow sticks, all in the same place, she nodded before looking back to him with her mega watt grin. And we've always got the coaster? She suggested, looking at him closely. She WANTED to go on that ride. Really wanted to. |
Isabelle was amazed by this carnival. It was huge and amazing. Though it did not compare at all to the carnival Madame Felsher, her neighbor, organized every year in Ffrance. Isabelle and her friends went every year. Eveb this year before Isabelle came back to England. Isabelle peered at all of the different vendors and all of their interesting stuff. She stopped to look at some fun sunglasses. They would be perfect for the time she spent at the carnival. |
Quote:
She grinned again. "Yeah she is, she'd be happy to make friends." Nessie continued. She looked at her watch, it was startig to get a little late and her parents were probably expecting her soon. "Well I gotta get going, it was nice meeting you two." she said before she turned around and started walking back to where her parents were. She was happy for Juliet would now have some friends. |
Copernicus Kettleburn had to carefully consider how to get his family to Diagon Alley. Cela didn't like apparating, especially not now, and neither of them were particularly up for flying. So it was to be Floo travel, although he found it unpleasantly dirty and didn't want to tire Cela out before they even arrived. Leaving the house was such a chore sometimes. Sigh. "What do you think, Shiny? Do you want to try a ride, or should we go straight to the food?" She had always been a good eater. |
Quote:
Cela, by contrast, didn't mind the floo, especially as it gave the opportunity to pat down and fuss over Cope afterwards, with the excuse of dusting off the floo powder smudges. Not that she needed an excuse, but she liked to have one. She brushed at his cheek and smiled. "Do you think they have potato?" Because the strange food cravings had well and truly started, and Cela's cravings had turned out to be for the plainest, most simple things. |
"I bet they have everything. Dipped in batter and fried to a crisp too." Cope caught up her hand and turned it over to show her a bit of soot she was smearing around. Hard to clean when you were already dirty. "Potato, is it? Maybe I should try one of those games and win you a prize." |
