The terms introversion and extraversion were first introduced to psychology as a way to understand how people engage with the world and recharge their energy. Introverts are known as those who focus their energy inwards, preferring the internal world of reflection. While, in contrast, extraverts are described as those who direct their energy outwards—towards other people—and gain their energy from being in spaces where they can do so. And for you lucky folks who find yourselves sandwiched between the two? You might just be an ambivert!

I'm an introvert disguised as an extrovert. In my professional life I've had a list of jobs that require me to be bubbly, outgoing and a little bit in your face in order to find ways to make personal connections. It is so emotionally taxing for me, and while I appreciate people and what every personality can bring to the table - my default state of being is wanting to curl up at home with my cat and family and literally not have to speak to anyone for days on end

I did call center setting too and now I'm in Real Estate (this was a poor choice omg what was I thinking). The call center was definitely really difficult so I feel you there! It was like even EXTRA effort to be friendly and nice since it has to show in your voice infliction and you can't just smile and call that good.
On the flip side of my personality, my husband is a big time extrovert disguised as an introvert. He has a hard time connecting with people because he has big opinions and he's very vocal but he just wants to be around people so bad

I'm definitely an introvert. I generally can be very shy unless I am around people I feel comfortable with. Then I can be very loud and bubbly. But I end up getting drained by social interaction and always need alone time to recover.
