Hello!

My name is Josefin but people around here call me… Lots of names . I’m honored to be your Meet the Mod for the month of September! *high fives up top*

I first joined SnitchSeeker in 2010 and was hooked immediately! I was a writer for the Daily Prophet, active in the Fan Clubs (president of Tom Felton and Draco Malfoy ones tyvm I might have had a tiny teen crush) and an excited Slytherin Quidditch team member in the school RPG when that was a thing. I took a hiatus because real life kicked in after high school but now *kicks down door* I AM BACK! I am on my second term as the Groundskeeper and Flying Instructor in the school RPG and loving every second of it!

Off site, I live together with my best friend and my days are spent at university, doing my masters in advanced biotechnology. I am a vegetarian trying to live as a vegan (yay plants *waves flag*), I am a very passionate person (people, books, music, movies = FEELS), I need coffee to live (I wish this was an exaggeration), my family I own two dogs, I’m a proud Slytherin child (will defend until the end of my days), there's a guitar, a ukulele and a keyboard currently gathering dust in my closet (Dodie Clark is responsible for this).

Omg hi sciencey homie, wanna... Wanna share my microscope?

I could literally go on and on about this forever (I won't though, I promise). I guess the short answer to this is; Neither.

I think AI could help us in a LOT of areas, especially in science and medicine fields, both developing new techniques and evolving current ones. I just... Yes. I'm excited for this!

I also think it might pose some problems, as with anything we're developing. People are too eager and want to get the AI out and working before it's properly tested, before we know all the limitations etc etc. SO, I definitely predict some struggles for a few years but overall I'm excited.

I don't think the world will turn into Matrix (or are we already in Matrix dun dun dunnnnn) so doom: Nah. Glory: Nah.

1. I don't know???? Like Picasso is nothing compared to H&E staining So, I'll venture out in the industry and hopefully I can make a difference in something liiiiiiiike hospital equipment in different countries. What sort of equipment do we have in Sweden? What sort of equipment do other countries have? Is it equal? Could we develop that equipment and reduce the cost so all countries have an equal level of health care? Etc etc, there's SO much to do! Time will tell where I'll end up after these two years

2. IDK, I don't control him, he's just there ;_______; He'll be 14 soon. But YES, we should play! Hit me up anywhere

3. Can I only pick one? I love interacting with the students as a professor, I think that's very special. Personally, I think bonds shared between students and professors are important, so to have Haraldur involved in the students is one of my favorite parts.

THERE YOU ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE. Partner in crime ;___; 7 yrs later here we are please you're going to make me cry, I just peeked in on SS and you noticed me after 2 secs ;__;

1. It IS wonderful lol it all depends on which state I'm in. If I'm craving coffee, I have it black. And then depending on how much I've taken in during the day, I can have more soymilk in it. In a fancy coffee place I'll have a soy latte with a splash of vanilla though. That's fancy.

2. I have a couple! These two will never go out of style:

3. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK, I was afraid something like this might come up Apart from Harry Potter which obviously played a huge role in my life, there are 3 series that are worth mentioning:

- Across the Nightingale Floor #1 in the Tales of the Otori triology by Lian Hearn (dskjhfduds I can't even talk about this one, it makes me cry)

- the Northern Lights/Golden compass #1 in His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. (I read this when I was a kid and I remember the book brought me to another world, probably one of the first books that ever pulled me in and made me realize how amazing good writing really is).

- Tomorrow when the War Began #1 in The Tomorrow series by John Marsden (these 7 books changed me. They chaaanged me! I don't have one single bad thing to say about this series and I read them almost every summer.)

Please read one of or all of these and BE AMAZED! Then come back to me and we'll discuss them for days on end.

1. Oh my. Simple questions you say... WELL, let me rant a little about Slytherin.

Slytherin's main trait is ambition and we're also competitive and yes, success isn't the worst thing. I think I missed the memo when ambition and success was decided to be a bad thing. Like... What? WHY? Ambition is how you become a leader and how some people change the world.

Another trait common among fellow snakes is loyalty. Yes, Hufflepuffs (ily guys) are known for being loyal. But so are Slytherins. Although, in Slytherin's case, loyalty is often described as "taking care of our own". Yeah. That's LOYALTY. I don't know why this is being described as a negative trait. I'm EXTREMELY loyal to my family and friends and very dedicated to them. We take care of our own. That's a GOOD thing.

I've talked and defended Slytherin so many times. When I got sorted in Slytherin on Pottermore I got the sympathy looks with the "Aw... I'm sorry.", I on the other hand was delirious (although not surprised).

To all my sensitive, strong, ambitious snakes out there who have to defend our house; I got you boo. I will defend Slytherin house until my green and silver merch is buried with me. RIP.

2. You mean, what is it that I like about it? I was actually on my way to become a doctor when I changed my mind, did a 180 and started my masters in biotechnology. I just feel like it's more up my alley, I want the research part of it all but I also want some business management and work more in the industry. I don't know. Biotechnology is just cool. It's such an important field.

3. I DON'T KNOW I really don't have the time right now but I am determined to make time so as of right now, they're mocking me in the closet. I glare back at them once in awhile for good measure

First of all, HI Welcome to SS, hope you're settling in nicely

1. Favorite HP film would have to be Prisoner of Azkaban. I really love the Marauders and it's the film where Harry feels close to his father and also of course, meets Sirius for the first time. I think they did a great job with the time turner. I was pleeeeased

2. WOW. W O W. This is really difficult. This is where I choose Dumbledore because papa magic and all the knowledge. But then I also wouldn't mind having a nice chat with Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. I'm at a loss here. I'm sorry

3. UMMMMMMMM waffles I think? I don't know if it's because I like them better or because I never eat them so it's a luxury when I do

1. Favorite food? The first thing that pops into my head is sweet potatoe fries? Does that count? I don't think it's my favorite though, it's just something I want for lunch right now Probably tacos though. I eat a lot of tacos.

2. Favorite genre of books.. It's changed a little. When I was like 15-20 it used to be fantasy (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, A song of Ice and Fire, the Hunger Games etc etc) but now... I don't know. I'm really into biographies right now. Which sounds boring I know, but it's not?? People's life choices and destinies man, they intrigue me Still, wouldn't turn down a good fantasy book though.

3. Oooh, I also love spring! But... I like autumn and spring equally I think. Spring because it gets warmer (I live in Sweden so after a few months of icy temperatures, it's nice to see the sun) and autumn because it means new beginnings! New projects, new people, new things to look forward to!

But you know. December is my favorite month of the whole year (literally listened to my Christmas playlist in June this year)... But apart from December then I like spring and autumn equally

1. Umm wow ok so

1. I remember lyrics and movie lines so easily I can play an entire movie in my head with the correct lines.
2. I'm looking into buying a Polaroid camera so that I can put photos up in a big frame on the wall instead of having them all in my phone.
3. I don't have any freckles. Wish I had some.
4. My dad and I have a check list with countries we've travelled to. I'm just missing a few in Europe.
5. I'm a compulsive list maker. I make lists about anything and everything. Without them, I wouldn't get anything done.

2. So I was actually dead set on pursuing a career as an author. But then I realized I loved studying and learning new things and I knew absolutely NOTHING about medicine. So that's that. After studying medicine for a few years I noticed I want to do research but I also want to be in the industry in companies and incorporating business management with my degree so that's why I chose biotechnology

3. With a lack of a better word: Exciting. I'm very glad to be back for a second term

What kind of coffee do I like? Any kind. Like, literally. In any shape or form lol. At the moment, doing SS and Uni things with a fever -- I'm enjoying my third cup with just a taaad of almond milk.

Two spanish water dogs! Which I googled right now and they look nothing like my dogs We keep them shorter trimmed than some of those Google pics and longer hair than some of the others (I need just the right amount of fluffy fur tyvm). One is 11 almost 12 years old (light brown/beige) and the other is 6 years old (white with dark brown ears and spots yass). (I love them so much omg ;__; )

1. That is a compliment I'm so not worthy of lol. My favorite dust collector instrument is probably the piano? Sweet, sweet music to my ears. But the one I know the best is probably the uke
2. Oooh, I'm not sure I'd want any other colors tbh. I love Slytherin's colors, as long as they're kept dark green and silver and not light green and grey (I'm with you on that one)! I actually think we have the best colors but hey maybe I'm biased
3. Whoa. Um. So. Idk. No, I guess is my answer. Like yes, I'd want to use magic to help people and come up with great antidotes etc etc but further science? Nah. Science is based on its own evolution and development. I wouldn't want to mess with that

1. YAS. I have this list with my dad where we cross off countries we've travelled to. He's currently leading. But he also has a 30-something year head start lol. So far I've been to aaalmost every country in Europe (Spain, France and Italy multiple times) and a few countries in Asia and Africa

2. I don't know?? I don't think I get inspiration anywhere really. All I know is I need characters that make me laugh. Haraldur isn't really that funny to other people, but I always laugh when I write out his RP's and that's a must for me. I don't think I could actually stick with a character that doesn't make me laugh. It's my only criteria. Kudos to people who can actually play a 'normal' brain child. Mine are never normal.

3. The oldest is called Tova (I think this is a pretty Swedish name actually? idk) and the younger one is called Elsa. Yes. She was born before Frozen came out. And yes she always wants to a build a snowman.
