Hiiiiiiiiii, everybody!

I'm Rhianan, Rhi for short, and I'm super excited to be your Meet and Greet Mod for the month of February!

I've been a Harry Potter fan since 1999, but somehow I never got around to signing up for a SS account until about a year ago. And what a year it's been! I played a Gryffindor student named Fiyero Jones in the school RPG for one term before getting a staff offer; I currently play charms professor Gaston Marchand. And to top it all off, I also became a DA shopkeeper only a couple of months ago!

My life outside of SS isn't anywhere near as glamorous. I'm just a girly-girl who loves dolls, Broadway musicals, and all things Disney!

I work as a freelance writer, and I'm the proud pet parent of a cat, guinea pig, rabbit, bird, and dog.

Lastly, I'd just like to offer a few words of encouragement to all the newbies out there. It wasn't long ago that I was in your shoes, so I know it can seem a little overwhelming at first. But if you stay active on the site and follow all the rules, you'll find it's a really fun place.

Hi!

Ooh, that's a good question! I'm just drawn to unique-sounding names and I like giving them to my charries so they'll stand out. Most of the names I pick come from other fandoms (I think it's a fun little in-joke for the people!)

More specifically, Fiyero is the name of the male lead in the musical Wicked. He had a very Gryffindor personality, and the name itself means "ferocious" so I thought it was a good fit for a Gryffindor boy. I wanted a distinctive name for my professor, so I went with Gaston because it's a name I've always liked and the name of one of my favorite authors and the only Disney villian I liked as a child. I had a hard time coming up with a surname for him but saw Marchand in a book and thought it fit with Gaston nicely.

1. I haven't quite figured that out yet. Most of my charries are about the same age, so I don't have a lot of experience playing a wide range of ages yet. That said, I did really enjoy playing Fiyero as a firstie so I'll say my favorite age to play is 11-12.

2. I like most kinds of music from showtunes to oldies to even some country, but my favorite genres are punk/alternative and classic rock.

3. Definitely winter! I have chronic migraines that are triggered by heat, so winter is the only time of year I don't get headaches. I also really love the holiday season!

1. No, SS was my first time! I had no idea what I was doing at first!

2. I live in the USA, Tennessee to be precise.

3. Wow, that's hard! If I had to pick one, I'd say probably The Phantom of the Opera. The sets and costumes are gorgeous, none of the songs annoy me or seem out of place, I like almost all the characters, and it's a story that I think lends itself really well to musical theater.

2) Is Charms your favorite Hogwarts Subject or is there something you prefer more?

Thanks for your questions!

1. I'm also a Gryffindor! Almost every sorting hat quiz (including both versions of the Pottermore one) put me in Gryffindor. I was sort of in denial about it at first - I wanted to be in Slytherin like most of my favorite Harry Potter characters - but now that I think about it, I can see why I keep getting put in Gryffindor.

2. Actually DADA is my favorite Hogwarts subject, but Charms is a very close second!

3. The cat is Remus; I got him when I was 12 and named for my favorite Harry Potter character at the time. The guinea pig is Anna because she's feisty and talkative like the princess in Frozen, and the first thing she did when I brought her home was snuggle up to my Prince Hans doll.

The dog is Clampett; my mom named her after the family in The Beverly Hillbillies. And technically not a fur baby, but the bird's name is Nicholas.

Yay for questions!

1. Does that include the live-action movies or just the animated ones? My favorite is Saving Mr. Banks because it was beautifully acted and tells a sweet (though not 100% historically accurate) story, but if we're only counting the animated movies, it's a tie between Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Both of those movies have gorgeous animation, catchy songs, and a great message about not judging a book by its cover.

4. Ooh, good question! Probably Belle because she ends up with my favorite prince and gets to live in that lovely castle with the library and all those funny enchanted objects, and she has my favorite wardrobe of all the Disney characters. Also, her life before her happily ever after was not terrible like some of the other princesses; she had her books and a dad who cared about her.

5. Ariel! I love her curiosity, determination, and adventurous spirit, but my favorite thing about her is that she doesn't let her physical limitations hold her back from her dreams. In the context of her story, being a mermaid was a condition that kept her away from her dream, but instead of accepting it as a limitation and giving up, she kept a positive attitude and found a way to overcome it. Growing up as a kid with a medical condition, I had a lot of people tell me I couldn't do something, and seeing a character like Ariel was very inspiring.

6. lolololol He says he's way ahead of her there and has already made plans to take her to the Eiffel Tower over the summer holiday.

7. He says yes, but nothing too weird-sounding. He doesn't want his kids to be bullied for their names like he was.

Hi! Thank you for our questions!

1. Wow, that's really hard! I like almost all the songs, but I'm going to go with All I Ask of You (the original and the reprise). The song is beautiful both musically and lyrically, and I love the character development there! That song is what I consider Raoul's defining moment as a character, and it really shows how frightened and conflicted Christine is. Plus, the Phantom's reprise is so heartbreaking!

2. Good question! Probably Rapunzel because we're both smart, creative, naive, and a lot stronger than people think, plus I relate a lot to her desire to get out and see the world. And it''s also funny because I had a friend in high school who called me Rapunzel!

3. YAY for the most part, though there's been a few misses.

4. I'd love to have Baymax (not sure if he couldn't as a sidekick, though). He'd get along well with my ~~hairy baby~~ cat, he could fly me wherever i need to go so I wouldn't have to ask my family for rides, and having a personal healthcare robot would save a lot on medical bills. And he's hilarious to boot!

5. First one I saw live or the first I saw ever? I think the first one I ever saw was Annie, but that was on tv. The first I saw live was a local production of The Secret Garden.

7. 9 My dad's birthday was July 9th, and I became a Harry Potter fan in Sept. (the 9th month of the year) 1999.

8. Definitely Beauty and the Beast! I love how they expanded on the characters, especially Beast and Gaston, and the changes they made from the movie and the older stage productions made sense and didn't take away from the story.
