What up SS! *runs around and raises the roof* My name is Lissy, and I'll be one of the two mods you get to meet during the lovely month of February!
Lissy is short for Melissa, and I am a 20 something college student studying to be a teacher in the great state of Illinois here in the USA. I'm a HUGE history buff and some day want to go to law school as well. I've been a Chicago-an all my life, and I'm OBSESSED with the Chicago White Sox, one of the two local baseball teams.
I'm one of the strangest sorority girls you will ever meet. I basically live on a diet of bagels and Starbucks coffee. I have three tattoos, including a quote from Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. I'm also a bit obsessed with TV--my current favorite shows include Glee, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, awful reality TV, and the BBC show Sherlock and the E4 show Misfits.
Back to the SS stuff--I've been around the site for nearly NINE years now. I KNOW RIGHT?? I'm old when it comes to SS, haha. In the school RP, I was the Gryffindor male prefect for three terms, head boy for another (DON'T LET THOSE CONFUSE YOU I AM ACTUALLY A GIRL!  ) and quidditch captain for another two. Then I was chosen to be on the school staff and played as Divination Professor Nolan Reynolds for another two terms (I like to play boys in the RP if you haven't already guessed). I was also a Ministry Department head on Level 3 wayyyy back in the day. Today, I'm a mod for the Madame Malkins forum, which is where all the awesome graphic makers make lots of pretty things for you all, and the Magical Menagerie, where you can go and talk about all sorts of random HP related stuffs. I'm also the mod for the Neville Longbottom Fan Club because, in case you didn't already guess it from my username, I LOVE Neville Longbottom!

WELP. Basically I went into college thinking I'd make lots of friends with everyone on my floor and basically that didn't happen. I decided to join to meet new people, so I went to an informal event at the Pi Phi house and BOOM, I was hooked! So I didn't go through the BIG formal event where you get to go to every house (we have 10 houses here) I just picked which one I liked best, and I honestly didn't even go to any other houses because I felt so at home in Pi Phi!

The reason I like Neville so much is that I basically AM Neville. All through high school I never had many close friends, I was just kind of THERE. It was good fun at the time but looking back on it it wasn't the best part of my life either. Somehow I related to him because I just KNEW that someday I'd be awesome and prove to everyone that I wasn't just a nobody, just like he did. Sure enough, I got to college and got involved in all sorts of stuff and really took a stand for myself. I ran recruitment this past fall for my sorority and everyone always tells me I'm someone who holds their own and can lead people without being controlling and people have told me they really respect me for that. I just feel there are so many similarities between us, ya know?
Also Matthew Lewis is smokin hot yo. hahaha  I've had a crush on him since the 4th movie

Teehee. It's hard for me to pick a favorite, because I feel like they've all been so different in a way. I think Cale obviously stands out as one of my favs because he really got me into the RP and helped me love it like I do today. I have to say though, Gabi is really creeping up on him, I've never played a Slytherin before and I must say she's quite entertaining
I definitely love the Cale/Anna relationship, but playing with Anna's current charrie Sierra is also a ton of fun. She has such a complicated relationship with her brother, it makes for some of the funniest scenarios
BUT still, the number one RP I think I've ever done as for sure been the detention with Truebridge in the RP with Cale and Anna. I don't think anything can ever top what he made them go through CALE IS STILL SCARRED FROM THE CHICKEN GREASE! Quote:

I really love all the detail in LotR. It amazes me how thought out the world of Middle Earth is...Tolkien is a GENIUS. For real. My favorite characters are definitely the Hobbits! Well, Alex has a twin sister in the RP named Sierra (played by Anna Banana) and they are both younger siblings of her past RP charrie Anna (who is now married to one of my past RP charries, Cale). So they're kind of like a spin-off of our old charries? Anyways, we decided we wanted to play them after leaving staff, and we both kind of just KNEW she'd play the girl and I'd play the boy as we always do I was drawn to Joseph-Gordon Levitt because it was shortly after Inception came out and he just struck me as the perfect Alex.
And as for him being tall...that's just a weird quirk I thought would be fun for me to RP out with him Hehe.
And I DO like pretzels! Especially soft pretzels.

So in the RP, I was picked for all those positions because I was active in the RP, got involved in the classes/did as much homework as my real life schedule would allow, and showed that I was a mature and experienced role player. I RPed in the school for 7 terms before being asked to be on staff.
For the mod positions, it was a lot of the same thing--I proved I was a responsible member who knew the rules, and was asked to mod shortly after being added to the school staff
