2022: Meet Lissy Longbottom!

[Lissy Longbottom]

Hello hello hello Snitchseeker! My name is Lissy (short for Melissa) and I am your Meet the Mod for the month of February! Happy loveeeee month everyone!

A little bit about me - I'm basically a dinosaur in terms of SS. I've been around for going 19 years. YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT I first discovered this site because my friend found it and was super excited that you could take a REAL sorting hat quiz! And I ended up just getting hooked! I've been involved in many aspects of the community over the years and played many roles including mod, department head in the Ministry of Magic, Professor, Prefect, and Quidditch Captain back when those were playable roles! Currently I'm a moderator for the Potterdom, St. Mungos (RPG) and Book Club areas on site, and I play the Potions Professor in the Hogwarts RPG!

Off site, I'm a veterinary technician (so think a nurse, but for dogs and cats) and I am currently in my last semester of school to get my certification in the field which will open up more doors for me and allow me to get a license in my state! I have a lovely boyfriend and we own a house together and have two fur children - my dog Shenzi (a brindle beagle/hound mix) and our cat Winston. I LOVE Disney and regularly go to WDW, and I have 9 tattoos including a giant Disney themed piece on my leg I also love Star Wars, Marvel, reading, crafting, playing video games, crocheting, and making graphics!

Feel free to ask me questions and get to know me a little better!

1. Who's your fave Marvel character?
2. Which language would you be most interested in learning and why?
3. Do you plan on taking in any more pets in the near future?

[QueenPhoenix]

sooo Lissy .... You were a mod before and then retired, but now you're back .... so my question(s) for you is:

1. what's one of the most favorite roles you've held thus far??
2. what keeps you coming back here after all this time? is it safe to assume your friend no longer visits here?

[Sunflower]

Hi, Lissy!

You said that you were excited about SS because you could take a real sorting hat quiz!
Which house were you sorted into at first, and which house do you identify with the most?

[Charely Potter]

Hi there Lissy! It's so neat seeing another 03-er, just have a few questions for you here

What are some of your favorite books to read outside Harry Potter?
What sort of video games do you enjoy playing? Do you enjoy playing on console, PC, mobile, or all the above?

[thv]

Hi Lissy,

Do you have a favorite Disney character? And if you wouldn't mind why that character?

Thank you!

1. Bucky Barnes followed by Wanda and Vision!
2. Probably Spanish, I kind of regret not taking it in high school because it would be very useful now
3. Absolutely! But not at the moment, Shenzi isn't the biggest fan of Winston so it'll be a while until then!

I really loved playing DH for Accidents and Catastrophes way back in the day. Now I'd have to say that Potions professor is super fun! It all has to do with the character really

The people I've met! My friend doesn't come on here anymore, no, but she knows I still come here and help mod

Hufflepuff, and it is 1000% accurate!

OMG we are so old

I love anything historical fiction or fantasy. Occasionally a non-fiction book depending on the subject matter. And as for video games, anything on the Switch by Nintendo really, as well as stealth/puzzle games like AC and Tomb Raider. I mostly prefer my PS4 but I also play some stuff on PC as well!

Hello! Thank you so much for your question!

So it's definitely the Cheshire Cat. I even have a huge tattoo of him on my leg! To be honest, I think it's because of a few reasons - Alice in Wonderland was a big movie for me growing up, and I love animals. Plus, I'm a little odd as well, so I guess I just kind of stuck to him!!

Wow 19 years!! Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to find a site like this but your living proof that it must be an amazing place for HP fans to all come together.

Do you have family/friends that are hugely into HP also?

Yes, my sister is pretty in to HP as well! I actually read the books out loud to her growing up and we've seen all the movies together and actually met Tom Felton once!
