Hello Newbies!... and others This month I will be one of the two SS staff members you can meet. First and foremost, welcome to SS! I hope you all have a funfilled and memorable time here.
Right so... introductions. I will be brief, so that way you can ask me questions and 'discover' me. My name is Emily, I live in Western Australia. I'm a High School teacher, my area of expertise is in social studies, history and english.
I have numerous hobbies (asside from SS), which include reading, writing (yes I was a Ravenclaw)... singing and dancing (though I'm not very good at either), I used to love horse riding and ice skating, I love listening to classical piano, I drink at least three cups of tea a day..... and I think I'm getting carried away.
In terms of SS, I became a member in September of 03, played two terms before I became inactive (too much travelling and family drama), then I returned in December of last year and rekindled my relationship with SS. Now I'm well and trully addicted (again) and will be here for quite a while. I played as a student last term and was looking forward to the next term when *drumroll*.......... I was asked to become a staff member, and so here I am in the flesh/text-flesh. This will be my first term as a staff member, so it will be a learning curve for me. But I am super excited to share the experience with you all.
Also as of Wednesday I will be travelling around the UK, so feel free to ask me about my experiences
So without further ado... please come, read, ask me questions, get to know me and hopefully I will get to know you also.
Just dont forget the SS Site Rules |

well ....................
1. I think my fave HP creauture would ahve to be the Phoenix.... they're so magestic and incredibly useful. Though I am quite partial to the Augrey, dragons in general and Kelpies. But yes the Phoenix would be my favourite.
and......................
2. Fave non HP animal would have to be the horse. I LOVE horses!! They're so beautiful and gentle and humerous creatures. I remember a horse I rode for a few years at riding school- his name was Jack, such a sweet soul, but he was incredibly playful. He always did this thing where he would stand on my foot (was painful at times) then he'd shove me over with his nose and tickle me. I'm sure he found it amusing... he did it a fair bit. Gosh I miss him!!!
Haha but aside from the horse I'd say foxes and wolves come in at a close second/third.

If I was a student... favourite subjects would probably be Flying... DADA followed by a tie for third with potions and herbology... (...) Now I just have to ask; have you read Quidditch Trough the Ages? And if you have, which team is your personal favourite? (If you have a favourite of course) |

(If you have a favourite of course) hehe I have indeed. I own it... at home, though I wish I had it with me right now. I think... I'd have to go with the Holyhead Harpies, but I do like the sound of Montrose Magpies (I like magpies).
But because I am Australian I would say that my Aussie team would be the Thundellara Thunderers.
Hehe... I was walking through the streets of London today, and I saw a little boy carrying a plastic model of the nimbus 2000... it was so cute!!! I wish I knew where he got it from Quote:

........................ that is a seriously tough question.
And... it would highly depend on the circumstances.
I think I'd have to say ... Sirius Black... or Severus Snape... and they would have to be close to my age... and be willing to marry me
Or alternatively a Harry would be nice
In case anyone hasn't noticed yet... I;m not very good at picking one thing/person... I like options

Sirius Black is definately up there, probably number 1, but I'm also a huge fan of Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy and James Potter. Quote:

*pets you* ... hehe um its my SS username- and its recent, I used to be known as Emily_Potter up until a few months ago. I felt like a change.
Names Emily btw *points to the intro at the start of thread*
Although having said that I wish my name was Hera... that would be cool.

X) Hahaha... well it sort of depends... are you a generally very coordinated person? do you have good balancing skills?... see I'm not very coordinated, but I have superb balance... so I didn't find it that difficult. Got the hang of it after about 10 minutes. It is sooooooooo much fun. I highly recommend it. GO GO Skate and be merry!
Favourite tea?.......
...........
Definately Lady Grey... I'm not sure you know what that is... but its clearly the best tea in the world. But I'm also very fond of peppermint, english breakfast, prince of wales, and chai tea
Mmm... tea...
*sips Lady Grey*

Omgosh it is amazing. I loved it so much. The nightlife is amazing, the food is great- especially the fish and chips, site-seeing is a lot of fun, and there are so many places you can go and so many things you can try.
I highly recommend Jaffa cakes... they're really yummy.
If you like winter weather then its a gret place to go. Its technically spring, but it felt more like the winter I'm used to at home- which isn't too bad. Then again I love the cold and rain....
The culture is fun, just note that they take their football seriously... don't ever make the mistake of calling it soccer... you'll end up stuck in a half hour long conversation about it (I learned the hard way).
Also if you do go... be prepared to carry around a lot of coinage... I have a pile of 1p, 2p and 5p pieces... (p= pence) Sort of annoying, but sort of cool at the same time.

I did... very much. And if it was up to me I'd still be doing it today. But unfortunately my parents had decided to discontinue supporting my obsessions- they stopped paying for lessons and taking me there... they preferred to spend the money on holidays- which I'm not complaining about.
But yeah.. so I got a job with the idea that I'll be able to pay for it myself but that didn't work out... I just didn't earn enough at the time and so I sort of... drifted out of it.
Then I had year 11 and 12 znd so exams and study became more important, and then I had uni- same situation. Just didn't really have time.
I went back to were I used to go riding a couple of years ago... but it doesn't exist anymore. They're developing the land, its all residential developments now. So sad
Hahah thanks I like what I teach too... History is absolutely one of the best subjects ever!... theres so much of it. It was one of my favourites when I was at school.
Well... seeing as its now June... meaning May is over (in case you didn't know ) I should wrap this up.
Thank you to everyone who wanted to meet me and get to know me. I appreciate the gesture and look forward to seeing you around the site and RPing with you. Thank you for all your questions, they have kept me thoroughly entertained.
See you around
