Default Meet Cassirin

Hey, Snitchseekers! My name is Erin, although they call me Ern around here. Don't be confused, though... I'm definitely female, in spite of the rumors to the contrary and the fact that my last two school RPG characters have been male.

I guess I'm 'old' by SS standards, although the longer I'm here, the more adults I discover as absolutely in love with books and HP as I am! Although I went to college to be an Elementary teacher, I only taught for a few years before I decided I wanted to try something else. My job now is super secret government work that I just can't talk about (Okay, not really... it's just kind of complicated and boring to people not in the civil service). I still love kids, though, and I get to work with them through volunteer work in my free time.

I also love books of all sorts, and I'm an avid reader. I try to read at least 50 books a year, and I'm already at book number 10 for 2012! I'm always looking for new books, too, so if you have some suggestions or want to talk your favorite reads, definitely drop me a line. I'm also currently addicted to watching TV shows on Netflix, so let me know if you have a favorite show that you think I might be missing!

During my time on SS (almost nine YEARS!), I've worn a LOOOOT of hats. Outside of the school RPG, I've worked in both FanFiction and Knockturn Alley (our RPG section). I joined Snitchseeker specifically because of FanFiction, in fact, and I've written a few stories and even completed a drabble thread a while back. This past year, I competed in NaNoWriMo with fellow mod/staffer Tegz, and we're currently finishing up a massive Rose/Scorpius FanFiction that we hope to post here on SS.

I think I'm most active and visible in our RPG areas on the site. In the school, I started out as a mere Ravenclaw, and over the years, I acted as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Ravenclaw Head of House, and Headmaster (twice!). My interest in writing and being extremely nosy are put to use in my role as Daily Prophet Features Editor, and in the Ministry of Magic RPG, I once played the Minister of Magic, although I'm much better suited to my IUMO Division Chief character now. Whew!

That's enough from me for now, but I can't wait to get to know you all better!

2a. Did you try to replace the answers with "Touz"? It's funny. Like your profile.
3. What is Rae doing RIGHT NOW?
4. Will you finish the Rae story?
1. Better than those who were offended by it. Poor Steels.
2. I did that a bit after you mentioned it, and for SOME... it actually worked. 21 inches.
3. She has about a MILLION projects and charity things she does. She's embraced that aspect of retirement. And she's being all SIGH SADFACE about Mo going off to school. And she's BUSY. So busy.
4. I want to, but I don't know. I was trying to write it in RP time, and that means lots of stuff passes by so quickly between chapters.

My favorite part is developing a character - like their history and their personality and all the quirks. But the FUN part is throwing that person into a scene with a stranger and learning how they react to things and what makes them crazy and all that.

HAve you heard of Game Of Thrones? It's kinda like Lord Of The Rings, but the books are LESS boring. It's a TV series now on HBO!:boromir2the actor who plays Boromir in LOTR, Sean Bean, is one of the stars!) The 2nd season starts on Sunday but I think Netflix should have it up so you should check it out. Fair Warning: If you do choose to reas the books, they're about 800 pages each and there are 5 books in the series. I'm only on the 2nd book and I started reading the series this past December!

I HAVE heard of Game of Thrones, although I haven't watched the TV show. I'm about to start the fourth book in the series, and I'll probably look for it on Netflix once I'm done with this current book. I've heard great things about the show, so I bet I'll like it.

But best not put down LOTR in front of me... I'm a big fan of those books. There's very little you'll read in the world of fantasy that doesn't borrow heavily from Tolkien.

I actually started reading the books when I was in college (so early 20's). There were only three books out when I started reading, and I've been a rabid fan for each consecutive book.

I'm a purist, so I usually like the book better than the movie. I definitely feel that way about HP.
