| | The Astronomy Classroom You ascend into a completely circular room at the top of the highest tower. The walls are completely made of floor to ceiling windows, except a metre wide section for a fire, giving an almost 360 degree view of the surrounds. Accessible through an almost invisible break is the glass is a wide stone balcony that completely encircles the room. There is a charm around the doorway that stops the stinging wind from entering.
The room is vast, having been expanded by magic. In it stands a very large and magnificent telescope that can reach even the most distant stars, its lenses pointing out through the glass wall, which actually revolves so that it can be turned any direction. On the balcony stand many smaller telescopes on tripods, and inside are about 30 small wooden desks shaped like stars and moons with very comfortable high backed chairs. They are arranged around a large Mahogany desk shaped like a crescent moon, with a similar chair… Professor Dainsie’s desk.
Hello and welcome to Astronomy! Please make yourself comfortable whilst you await classes! |

| *tries to level down her quoting* Quote:
Sometimes when he got angry, he chained her to the mountain of Olympus by fastening anvils to her feet. But most of the times, Zeus resorted to either hid his illegitimate children, or he changed them into animals.
Anelreas laughed. "Zeus was a bit kinky, wasn't he?" She winked, her words completely humor. "I don't see why he did not just get rid of Hera and take up a new Queen. It's a mystery to me." Quote:
"It is said that each year Hera's virginity returns by bathing in the well Canathus. According to some sources, her children Hephaestus, Hebe and Ares were conceived without the help of a man, either by slapping her hand on the ground or by eating lettuce: thus they were born, not out of love but out of lust and hatred. It isn't exactly a love story is it?"
Anelreas blinked. "Wow. I have never heard that before." She brought her other elbow up to the table and rested both of them. "That is, I dare say, very interesting." Quote:
"What I never understood," she continued, "was why Zeus got a wife to start with if he was so uninterested in having a faithful relationship!" she laughed. "He could as well remain single and unsinful, right?"
Anelreas clapped her hands together. "Precisely! I think the only reason he married was because, no matter what age it is, having a wife is like having a possession. It adds to their masculinity." She waved her hands up and about.
[ooc: Oo! I had thought she was talking to herself, but I was not sure. Next time I shall know!] Quote:
"Italy?" she repeated. "Fabolous! I would love to visit it some time. Especially because of their famous pasta!" *^^* "I'm a fan of gnocci myself.
Anelreas laughed. "It seems nowadays, that is all Italy is none for." She said, a frown coming to her lips. "There's a lot more to it than pasta. Honest! The monuments and just the history is more fascinating than pasta!" The frown faded from her face. Quote:
I see a tendence here You are either too into beauty or too into romance, or both, aren't you?" she laughed. "Or maybe it's only the time of the year. Here -"
Anelreas laughed, a hint of color coming to her face. "It would have to be the second. I am usually not very big on romance; to be truthful, I am sometimes against it, but with mythology, I just love the stories!" Anelreas peered over the book and read what was on the page. [ooc: Holy cow .. so much on one web page. *gawks*] After reading all of the information on the page, Anelreas sat back with a sound that sounded much like 'Huh.' "I have never read that version before. Mind you, the one I read was quite short, more of the summary than the actual story, but that has enlightened me to new things!"

Nadia laughed openly and actually humored like she hadn't been in some time. Kink indeed. She tried to straight her face but the giggling wouldn't stop that easily and she finally sucumbed to laugh for quite some minutes until settling herself again. For a second she wondered why Aixla had been so silent all this time, but Nadia didn't want to preassure her to talk if she didn't want to.
Nadia nodded at Anelreas' words. Interesting it was, she couldn't believe she hadn't remembered before of it. Then went back to laughing since it seemed both had the same intrigue on Zeus' marriage. "Yeah, he could as well just do with a harem!" Nadia snorted and was laughing so hard she was now holding her side and was somehow teary. She couldn't comment any further over laughter though she did think Anelreas had some valid points. Quote:

Nadia was just whipping a tear from her eye when she felt like giggling again. "Ah, you have discovered me! You have found out about my interest for food before all other!" she sighed over-dramatically and striking a pose. Quote:
Anelreas laughed, a hint of color coming to her face. "It would have to be the second. I am usually not very big on romance; to be truthful, I am sometimes against it, but with mythology, I just love the stories!"
[ooc: I think I have found my clon, or lost twin... Sister! *hugs Anelreas*]
"Ah," Nadia said, an eyebrow raised wondering if that was completely true, which was unlikely if considering the first day meal at the Slytherin Table... ( )
"Well, that makes us alike, kind of. Well, umh," she stopped all of the sudden, "maybe I've grown more romantical over the summer though. I don't know what's wrong with me." She laughed rather nervously. "I usually, like you, only like the whole idea of love in literature. And tasteful love!" She laughed again. "I don't know if there's something called untasteful lovestories in our vocabulary but I can assure you there ARE some things deserved to be labelled like that." Quote:
After reading all of the information on the page, Anelreas sat back with a sound that sounded much like 'Huh.' "I have never read that version before. Mind you, the one I read was quite short, more of the summary than the actual story, but that has enlightened me to new things!"
"It does, doesn't it?^^" she put the book away. "To tell you the truth I haven't read all of this book. It is endless! The stories are facinating but I swear there're much more Greek Mythical stories than there are historical textbooks of the time." She smiled and turned to the book again. "I can borrow it to you if you want, I'm not using it particularly today. I just brought it in case we would talk about constellations at Astronomy and, well, they are named because of this or that legend, aren't them? Thought it might be useful."

Anelreas began laughing, Nadia's laughter becoming contagious. At first she was just laughing at Nadia's laughter, but then actually thought back on her words and laughed harder. When Nadia posed, Anelreas laughed even harder, her hands going to her stomach, her sides aching. "Wherever is a camera when I need one??"
[ooc: *hugs Nadia back* Welcome to the family!]
At Nadia's short comment about romance, Anelreas began to slow her laughter. She eyed Nadia for a moment and pondered over what she was thinking. With that one word, there were a lot of thoughts going to Anelreas' mind. She could only remember one event where romance [if even called that] was involved. If she were right in her thoughts ... She felt color rush to her face. She hoped that since she had been laughing so far, that it wouldn't be noticeable. [ ]
"I agree and disagree with you about romance. I like the idea of love in literature, but what is written is not always true. I, for one, do not believe that there is always a knight in shining armor waiting for every girl. I do believe we all have our loves in the world, but my views are more farther than closer to the idea told in stories." She hoped it all made sense. She shook her head and sighed. "I have read many stories that deserved to be labeled untasteful. They all follow the same plot: girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, boy falls in love with girl, girl is captured by higher power, boy rescues her, they live happily ever after." She wrinkled her nose. "That doesn't have in reality and I think there should be more stories that are more lifelike!"
"If every Greek story were to be written down there would be no more trees left on this earth!" She exclaimed. "I would deeply appreciate it if you would borrow it to me! I would love to read the lengthy versions of the myths that I have only read the summary about. You never know," she leaned forward, then back, "I may become a romantic after reading the chosen lengthy love stories."
"Constellations .. now there's another discussion waiting to happen." She laughed. "I think most, if not all constellations are named after a god or hero of some sort." She rocked her body lightly. "Ancient Greeks had a lot of time on their hands."

"Mmh, no, you misunderstood me. I would never think of knights on shinning armous. I'm more fond of tights anyway -" *laughs* "Now, really. Yeah, what I meant to tell is that overly-corny stuff is rather, umh, a joke. It becomes boring after a while, does it now?" *smirk* "Actually, my favorites are the passionate loves. Those which are so stong that conducts the behaviour of men so easily and makes the best tragedies. Quote:

She wrinkled her nose. "That doesn't have in reality and I think there should be more stories that are more lifelike!"
"Exactly!" she spat all too enthusiastically. "That's exactly what I meant with untasteful loves. Made up stories without any sense of reality, or where there's one know-it-all that knows how other people's feels all the time!" She flopped back in her chair comically. It then stuck her that it was funny words for a person that was so commonly called a know-it-all. The conversation whowly drifted to Greek History again.
"Yeah," she added. "It is like they already covered SO much in literature there's nothing new to add!" she mock-pouted. Nadia handed in the book and laughed again. Who knows why, maybe the laughing itself, but both of them were quite reddish right now. Quote:

Nadia lowered her head, as if trying to hide the giggling, but without managing to stop her shoulders from shaking. She took a deep breath before responding. "Well, on that subject, I think my favorite constellation is the Serpend-Handler, Orphideus. He is registered as the only man to achieve a formula for defying death in myth."

"Oh!" Anelreas said, her facial expression saying 'I knew that ... sort of.' "I agree that after a while the 'overly-corny', as you put it, does become boring. There needs to be twists and surprises! Though .. nothing too frantic." She pondered for a moment. "I am not sure if your passionate stories are the same as mine, but from what I have read, if it's truly a passionate story, there is always a good surprise or twist. But that may just apply to myself." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Oh," she leaned over to Nadia and said in a hushed tone. "You're not the only one who's fond of men in tights." She winked playfully.
"A writer should ask a real, normal person, like you or I, about their love life. Or they should base stories off of their own life! I am tired of reading about nonsense where the main characters meet on a Monday and by Wednesday they claim they are in love!" She huffed. "From my knowledge, that does not happen! And if it does, it is not love, but lust!"
"The Greeks covered just about everything known already, but I am sure there are a few more things to add to their large library that is not there yet. In today's world, isn't betrayal beginning to grow more fonder in relationships? I dare say someone would ever betray one of the gods, especially if they were one of their lovers!"
"Orphideus, Orphideus." She repeated the name. "It sounds strangely familiar but I cannot seem to remember him entirely." She closed her eyes, trying to search through the depths of her mind. Sadly nothing came to her. "He defied death??" Her jaw almost dropped. "The formula must have taken him years to perfect!"
"I am not sure if I have a favorite constellation. Truthfully, I do not know that much about them. Only recently have I begun studying them. I'm afraid the only ones I know are the ones known by the rest of humanity." She admitted.

"Tights rule!" Nadia laughed. She contented herself with listening to Anelreas as they chatted about the different subjects. They shared many ideas so for real there was not much to be added: the same taste for reality in stories, the same sense of passion in a way, lust... "Humans are some weird creatures, aren't they?" she commented aloud. Quote:
I dare say someone would ever betray one of the gods, especially if they were one of their lovers!"
"I wouldn't be so sure, betrayal is one of the most common subjects. After all, unfaithfulness is the same as betrayal and we know Zeus to be quite a traitor." She moved to the side to pick a lolli-pop as she said this, stuffing her mouth with it.
"Id's a legen'," Nadia said offhandly and next taking the lolli from her mouth took the mythology book again. "Oh, wait, let me get the name better - I probably mispelled.... Ah, yes, here it is. Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer [ooc: mix-up with Spanish name]. The name of the man in the myth was actually Asclepius, and after killing him, Zeus made him into a god, placing him among the stars and transforming Asclepius into the constellation. The story is rather short: He has the son of Apollo and Coronis, the unfaithful wife who was burned out over her betrayal. Apollo took pity of their son and saved him from the flames, later handed it in to Chiron, a wise centaur who taught him the art of medicine.
"On the Immortality issue, I know Athena gave Asclepius a magic potion made from the blood of the Gorgon. Legend tells that the blood of the Gorgon has a different effect depending from which side the blood was taken: If taken from the right side of the Gorgon, it has a miraculous effect and is said to be able to bring the dead back to life, but taken from the left side it is a deadly poison. In the eyes of Zeus, Asclepius' action upset the natural order of the universe - a mere mortal helping man evade death, imagine! With one swift action, Zeus sent down a thunderbolt killing him."
Nadia finished yet another story, grinning. "You might be wondering why he was named the serpent-bearer or handler? Well, he became the Greek god of medicine and healing. The snake symbol was because it was used in the healing ritual; non-poisonous snakes were left in the dormitory where the sick slept overnight on the bare ground. That's also why the main attribute of Asclepius is a physician's staff with an Asclepian snake wrapped around it; this is how he was distinguished in the art of healing even nowadays." Quote:
"I am not sure if I have a favorite constellation. Truthfully, I do not know that much about them. Only recently have I begun studying them. I'm afraid the only ones I know are the ones known by the rest of humanity." She admitted.
"Well, that's nothnig to be ashamed off. I just have too much free time. And I don't know that many, only the main 12... hydra, draco, pegasus... and so on." (ooc: Saint Seiya anyone?)

| Anelreas nodded her head. "Aye, we are." She chuckled. "Well, yes, Zeus was unfaithful, very unfaithful, but I was talking more about his many lovers. I doubt they would betray him." She corrected her own words. "It would be very stupid to **** off a God, especially the King of them all." "Ah." Anelreas commented, though the story was one she had not known before. "It seems no matter what the story is, Zeus seems to be the bad guy, one way or another, and Apollo is the savior that helps others in remembrance." From all the stories she had read, that was true, but there was still much to be read. On the further talk of Immortality, Anelreas immediately thought back to her previous comment about Zeus. "I never knew the blood of a Gorgon had uses, yet alone know that one side brought death while the other was life-giving." Nadia's gift of informing others never ceased to amaze Anelreas. "Well, you cannot necessarily blame Zeus for killing Asclepius. Gods were the only ones meant to be immortal, not mortals. Mortals were supposed to be just that, mortal. If mortals were to become immortal, the population of Ancient Greece [as well as all ancient cities] would be terrifying! Mortals are meant to die for a reason." Again, Nadia's gift amazed Anelreas. "How interesting. Snakes, poisonous or not, in my mind, would scare the sick, or me if I had been one of them. Though, that is an interesting ritual. I have never heard of it before. Alas, I do not think I will be trying it out any time soon." She laughed. "Snakes are definitely not my favored animal, despite my being a Slytherin." She chuckled. "You must have a lot of free time." She winked. "Ah, I know of draco and pegasus!" She exclaimed. "Though .. I only know them by their names." [ooc: *feels bad because she has not heard of Saint Seiya* *goes to look up information about it*] |

"Apollo? Set fire on her wife and forced another. I wouldn't say a hero, no," Nadia said chuckling. Quote:
"Well, you cannot necessarily blame Zeus for killing Asclepius. Gods were the only ones meant to be immortal, not mortals. Mortals were supposed to be just that, mortal.
"Of course," Nadia said smirking, "but it was beyond jealousy or natural order. Of course, Zeus feared to loose something. He feared a wound in his pride. If a simple human could have what made Gods the most special, it would make Gods less special, right? Making Zeus more human." She leaned back with a hint of something behind her eyes. "Like human, Zeus and the Gods cared deeply and protected jealously this power - these secrets kept away because of their egocentrism to lend them in, to share. We humans like to feel superior from the others by showing them we know more, are better, have something they don't have, don't we?"
During her speech, Nadia's eyes had turned into a particular spot ahead yet not looking at anything or showing no feelings. Her expression and thoughts went along to get lost between these lines. When she awoken from these thought there was nothing there but a small smile, a little embarrassed since she had spoken too much. Quote:
"Snakes are definitely not my favored animal, despite my being a Slytherin."
Nadia had this curious look in her eyes. "It's curious, you remind me of someone... but I cannot quite place who... Ah, nevermind."

Nadia turns from her conversation to the professor rather puzzled. "Unhappy, with you? Us? No, not at all - I guess what Mithos means to tell is that, umh, it is great not all professors followed the same fate as - as Riddle, Rae, Airlia and Lainey," she finished quite shyly. She turned to look at the front by now, expecting the professor to soon start the class now she was here. But she was also attentive to see if Anelreas had anything else to add to their conversation before, like one or two last words.

Anelreas blinked at the new information about the Sun God. "I-I didn't know about that." She spoke, her eyes wide. She gave her a head a shake then continued. "Zeus is still worse!" She exclaimed, pointing a finger up into the air. Quote:
"We humans like to feel superior from the others by showing them we know more, are better, have something they don't have, don't we?"
Anelreas scoffed. "Men and their pride." She then sighed and nodded her head reluctantly. "Aye, we do. There will always be a social class in the world and there will always be competition to get to the top." She wouldn't lie and say humans didn't have the need for superiority; it was obvious they did. She, herself, sometimes felt like, in class, had to prove her being to the rest of the students by speaking up. Though, speaking up can sometimes be a bad thing, certainly when you say the wrong thing. Quote:
Nadia had this curious look in her eyes. "It's curious, you remind me of someone... but I cannot quite place who... Ah, nevermind."
Anelreas tilted her head to the side. "I remind you of someone? You know another who is as mad as me about Mythology?" She jested, a thin smile on her face. "I'd like to meet this person, if you ever figure out who it is." [ooc: I'm not -so- normal. *loves LOVES anime* Though, I'm new to the fabulous world.] Anelreas' eyes held a saddened look as both Mithos and Nadia mentioned the replacement of four of the professors. She wanted to march right down to the Headmaster's office (or even Leiden's) and give him a piece of her mind. Of course, she decided against it. |

She laughed. "Of course he is! Apollo had his reason for burning his bride alive - the woman had cheated on him. But yeah, if you believe in that kind of punishment..." She mock shivered, still laughing. "Mmh, more like they are all psychos^^"
Nadia remained silent about the thing about pride. There some something that kept her from commenting further, as if she had run out of knowledge or something. She shook her head and kept listening trying not to miss anything for her being distracted. Once asked the last question, it got Nadia mmh-ing and soundly pensive trying to remember. However, nearly a minute passed with her making sounds and she had to give up. "No, sorry, I don't remember. It just slipped my mind."
(ooc: yeah! We are more! We shall conquer the world! *dances*)

Anelreas' jaw almost dropped. "His bride cheated on him? What in Merlin's beard caused her to do such a thing?!" She asked, though it was rhetorical. "I never thought I would ever hear a tale of someone cheating on a god." She emphasized the world greatly. She laughed. "Psychos? I agree indubitably with you."
"Oh," Anelreas said, sounding a bit disappointed that Nadia did not remember the name. "It's okay. I'm sure if the matter was important you'd remember." She winked, the disappointment gone from her voice. "Your mind is much too filled with knowledge of the wizarding world. A simple name is lost in the knowledge." She smiled, with a small laugh.

Nadia laughed again. "Yeah, it must be a lapsus. Though it is weird, I never have lapsus." She noticed what she had said and laughed again. "I guess it is way weirder that I would say I have never had a lapsus, eh?"

"But it was more like a 'feeling', not an actual person. Nevermind on that though. So, what were we talking about?" She asked puzzled, suddenly asking, "Hey, Anelreas, I wanted to ask you, have you had an oppotunity to chat with this, umh, Ministry people?"

"Talking about the Ministry does not bother me. Not one bit." Her voice sounded very monotone. "I've had," her eyes narrowed slightly, then resumed their normal position. "the pleasure of talking to one of them, if only for a short while."
