| The Eagle's Nest - Common Room Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - ❄ Lunar Library Lurker ❄ - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror Have you answered the riddle correctly?
Perhaps waited outside for the kindness of a fellow housemate to help you inside?
Welcome to the Ravenclaw Common Room!
Once inside, you are greeted with a light, airy circular room, the atmosphere surrounded by large, arched windows reminding you of the open sky the house mascot calls home. Shades of blues and bronzes litter the fabrics of the curtains, rugs and furniture within. A large statue dominates one section of wall, the door beyond leading to another staircase that leads to your dorms. The second floor of the common room also has access to a rooftop terrace charmed to keep students from falling from one of the tallest towers of Hogwarts while exploring the wonderful view of the grounds. Make yourself at home as your house becomes your family.

| Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - ❄ Lunar Library Lurker ❄ - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror RAVENCLAW HOUSE CONVOCATION When they had first begun talking about setting up house meetings, one of the first things that had come to Marcus’ mind was wanting to make it a happy balance between pleasure and business. It wasn’t like it was for anything bad or required for grades, but it probably shouldn’t be a free for all. Not that the herbology professor had any doubt that his eagles would be entirely successful in whatever they developed. With his plans came rustling up some extra seating with a few flicks of his wand to make sure they was plenty of room. It wasn’t like it was everyday that everyone from Ravenclaw was hanging out in the common room at one time.
Shifted in place so they were mostly facing each other in discussion groups, the redecorating of the left room against one set of windows for a long table. The blue cloth-covered wood set with snacks and drinks that the house elves had assisted him with while a few additional swathes of gauzy fabric in blue and bronze hung from the .lofty ceiling and framing the perpetual night sky that resided there. Professor Cole stands casually beside Rowena’s statue awaiting you as the house gathers from outside the common room or further within.

A house meeting, what was going to be discussed? He had no idea. But none the less, it was exciting, and he hoped it would be very educational. He had just come from the library, having finished some reading…though he fully intended to continue once he returned to his dorm after the meeting. Reading and schoolwork were his passion....for the most part. Surprisingly, he did have other interests, even if most people didn’t seem to think so.
River stepped into the common room and paused to look around. It was decorated beautifully in the house colors of blue and bronze, the warm light catching on the rich fabrics and polished surfaces. His gaze shifted until he spotted Professor Cole standing near the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw. “Hello, Professor,” River said with a small smile, his voice calm and steady despite the thick Scottish accent that wrapped around his words. “How are you doing today?”
He took a seat, folding his hands neatly in his lap. He was so excited for this, far more than he probably should have been and he was doing his very best to hide it.

Aaand it seemed like the meeting hadn't started yet, so that was lucky!
He noted the additional seating arrangements around the room, but then his eyes zeroed in on the snack and drinks table. As if on cue, he felt his stomach rumble quietly. Yup, definitely gonna check those out.
But greetings first! "Hi, Professor! Hey, River!" Zephyr greeted both of them with a grin as he passed by.
And then he reached the snack table, where he paused. Hmm, what to get?

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Anything, literally anything, was preferable to thinking about Slytherin boys.
The Ravenclaw common room was a balm in comparison to the revision session she had just attempted on the fourth floor balcony. Cool blue light filtering through the high windows, the perpetual night sky overhead stretching in glittering constellations, the long table dressed in bronze and sapphire cloth gleaming invitingly, snacks arranged with glorious symmetry that suggested both house-elves and Professor Cole had been methodical. There was something truly wonderous in structure and being away from being psychologically dissected by handsome eyes who treated emotional stakes like a recreational sport.
"Hello, Professor," she greeted in her usual crisp and entirely unflustered tone. She had, of course, come prepared. When the Headmaster had mentioned innovation at the Start-of-Term Feast, she'd suspected house-level initiatives might follow. So she had brought a notebook where several pages were already filled with speculative diagrams and half-formed ideas that had occurred to her while she was not thinking about anything else. Certainly not about destabilizing forces.
Though one page did include a remarkably detailed sketch involving trajectory angles and moving targets — technically inspired by defensive theory.
She tightened her grip on the notebook and made her way toward the refreshment table, selecting something small and nothing requiring excessive chewing. Across the room, River had just taken a seat, hands folded with a sort of restrained enthusiasm that made her mouth twitch faintly. It was almost aggressively wholesome. She moved to sit beside him without much ceremony, smoothing her skirt as she settled. She spotted their Seeker as well, already reaching for snacks with the singular focus he usually reserved for the pitch. Typical.
Ravenclaws, she reflected, were at least predictable in their eccentricities.
Which was comforting.
Very comforting. ―*§*― Positioned near the door, where shadow met heavy curtain, his dark robes rendered him nearly indistinguishable from the drapery at first glance. It was not an attempt at concealment but rather an efficient use of space. In case students and colleagues had not sorted it out for themselves yet, he preferred perimeters. They offered a full view of a room and fewer opportunities for unnecessary interruption.
While this sort of merriment was far from his cup of tea and it had been a struggle to keep up with Marcus' enthusiasm during previous conversations in preparation for today, Headmaster Winterbottom had made it transparent that his participation was required and that alone was sufficient. Cox had come to respect the man in a way that was not easily given, reminiscent in some quiet fashion of his Alchemy Master. When asked to attend, he attended. When asked to assist, he would assist.
Just didn't mean he had to be smiling about it.
A leather-bound ledger rested open in his hands, already dated, margins ruled with faint guiding lines. He approached this as he did his laboratory: with structure, documentation, and the understanding that details mattered long after memory softened them. When the first students entered, their attention naturally turned inward and towards their Head of House. They did not greet him and he did not expect them to. His gaze lifted only briefly from the page, sharp hazel assessing without staring. He simply remained where he was, quietly blending with curtain and shadow, ready to step forward the moment his presence was formally required.

Collin O'Shea Owl Post | Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ Cat wasn’t late. Not technically. Still, she’d prefer to keep it that way, so she was in quite a rush as she sped toward the Ravenclaw Common Room from the library. One of her pigtail braids had come almost entirely undone in her hurry (the other staying remarkably intact), and her shirt was mostly untucked from her skirt. She’d address that later.
She gave their head of house a wave and a quick “Hello, Professor!” as she entered the room, then made an immediate turn toward the wall. She was a watcher, of course, and since this was a new situation she was prepared to watch.
There was a small problem, though. If ‘small’ meant grown-man-professor-sized. Luckily, some part of Cat’s brain recognized that there was a person in front of her, not just curtains, before she actually ran into Professor Cox. It was a just barely sort of thing, though. Unfortunately. “Professor!” Cat squeaked (there was no other way to describe the sound she made) and took a hurried step back. “I didn’t even see you there! Did you know you blend in with the curtains??” Was he coordinating? It was dangerous. Clearly.
Wait. She looked up at him, eyes big and round and curious. “Did you do that on purpose??”

Catching Zephyr’s eye, Riv offered a small, slightly awkward wave, a crooked smile tugging at his lips. Awkwardness, after all, was practically his calling card. “Hey, Zephyr,” the Scottish teen greeted warmly, his accent curling softly around the words.

One of the latter, by the sound of it, had been blending in with the drapery. Between the two men, it wasn’t difficult to figure out who that was. “Hi, Professors.” The first year’s eyes darted between the two.
Only then did he move to the snack table, helping himself to some cheese sandwiches. “Can’t make up your mind?” he asked Zephyr. “Can never go wrong with sandwiches.” And from the looks of it, there were a variety of them. Now… what would he have to drink? That was all that was left to decide before he could go say hi to the other Claws on his way to finding a nice place to sit. |

He had seen her approaching the whole time, after all, and another step or two and he would have cleared his throat at least. "I may have some inking,” he replied evenly. "And while the ability to enter a room without being immediately noticed is seldom a disadvantage, I assure you, Miss Webb, that I did not coordinate with the curtains."
His attention shifted beyond her then, posture straightening subtly as gave Marcus a light nod. "On that note, if you will find yourself somewhere to sit," he instructed of the second year, gesturing towards the rest of the convocation. It was then that he stepped away from his unintentional camouflage to more closer towards the table so himself and Marcus framed the space.
"Unfortunately, Ravenclaws, Professor Cole has been called away on a matter requiring his immediate attention," he announced to the room. "He expressed every intention that this gathering proceed as planned." Cox's gaze swept the room, taking in the banners, the careful arrangement of space, the details that had each been carefully selected and put in place by the man. "It would be remiss not to acknowledge," Cox continued, his tone deepening slightly, "that this was arranged under Professor Cole's direction. His admiration for Ravenclaw — its scholarship, its reverence for the written word, its devotion to inquiry and art — has always been evident." He offered a faint inclination of his head. "As both librarian and professor, he has long maintained that ideas deserve not only to be studied… but to be created."
The ledger in his hand closed with a soft snap before he tucked it neatly under his arm. With both hands now free, he brought them together in a single firm slap. Small wooden boards appeared at once, stacking themselves in neat stacks on the nearby tables. A controlled twirl of the wrist followed, fingers curling into his palms, and parchment sheets fluttered into existence and settled in orderly layers beside the wooden boards. Charcoal sticks, quills, bottles of ink in varying shades of blue and bronze, and a modest assortment of paints that gathered themselves in the center of the common room floor.
"In that spirit," Cox continued, stepping aside to allow clear access, "you will begin there." His gaze passed over the students before dipping toward the assembled supplies in a firm nod. "A single word. A quick sketch. Whatever form suits you. What does Ravenclaw represent to you?" He folded his hands behind his back. "Don't overthink it. We'll reconvene in five minutes."

Yes, late, and it was all because her brother had dragged her along to the dungeons to study for the next potions exam. Hair all ruffled up, her robes in disorder and out of breath the second year skidded into the Ravenclaw Common Room with big curious eyes. Out of breath she croaked out a greeting "Hi Professors!" before quickly heading over in Cat's direction. Trying to smooth down her hair, and ordering her robes in the process she murmured to her friend "Hi Cat, are the snacks free to take?" Mira asked with a gesture to the drinks and snacks table.
Minutes later Professor Cox got the house convocation started with an exercise on house pride. Grabbing a piece of parchment, and some ink Mira quickly wrote down the first word that came to mind which she also showed to Cat. "I wrote knowledge. Knowledge to know how to be a good friend, and a good Ravenclaw student. What did you wrote?"

Adjusting her glasses just a little so they at more comfortably on the bridge of her nose, Iris debated whether or not to go rescue the man and bring Cat over where she sat, but then that news was shared and it ripped through the common room with the same ferociousness as a well struck bludger.
The fifth year barely had the time to process what had just been shared about Professor Cole when they were tasked with a word, and an art project. She did not appreciate being told not to overthink something―she practically made it her entire personality. Not to mention that five minutes was hardly enough time to define a house founded on a millennium of intellectual tradition. But fine.
Iris rose smoothly, selecting a wooden board and a single sheet of parchment and bit of charcoal for its more amendable quality. Back in her seat, Iris leaned her head back and admired the design of the the vaulted ceiling that arched like the inside of a cathedral built for thought rather than prayer, midnight blue stretching overhead in disciplined sparkling constellations. Tall, mullioned windows that filtered cool light across curved bookcases and brass instruments, every surface arranged with an almost mathematical regard for balance. Even the spiral staircase, winding upward in patient geometry, seemed less a passage and more a thesis statement. Ravenclaw, Iris decided, was not merely intelligence. It was not simply knowledge. It was the structure that allowed knowledge to stand. The invisible scaffolding beneath discovery. It was the quiet bones that allowed brilliance to stand without collapsing under its own weight.
She put the charcoal to her parchment.
Hmm. Interesting. Five minutes was sufficient after all.

| Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia "Pretty much. Everything looks so good," Zephyr admitted Harvey with a grin. It really was difficult to decide. "I think I'll follow your lead though." The sandwiches seemed as good a place to begin as any. He'd probably try a little bit of everything over the course of this meeting, depending on how long it took.
After placing a couple of sandwiches on his plate and grabbing a drink, he left the table and took a seat beside River. "How're you? Gonna try the food?"
Just as he took a bite of his sandwich, though, it seemed the meeting was beginning, though it was Professor Cox who had stepped up to speak. And...Professor Cole had been called away? Now? Zephyr blinked in confusion, though there was curiosity and concern too in the furrow of his brow.
But before that information could fully settle in, there were quills and parchment and other things being set before them. And they were tasked with something to represent Ravenclaw. Just a word or a sketch.
Zephyr wasn't much of an artist, so a sketch was probably out of the question. Though, considering they only had five minutes to come up with something, maybe a sketch would be appropriate since it would be about on the same level as something he did in five hours. But what he would draw, he didn't know, so a word seemed better.
So, which word? There were the obvious ones that were always brought up. And, again with the time limit and the statement to not overthink it, maybe that was what he should write. Was all of this already overthinking it?
But...there was something that had popped into his mind.
He dipped a quill in blue ink and wrote it down quickly. Flight.
There was a literal sense to it, because of their eagle mascot, but it was also metaphorical. Ravenclaw was about learning. The freedom to follow your curiosity wherever it led you, to achieve greater understanding, and to know that such an endeavor was never-ending. There was always something new to learn. You only needed to be as willing to take that next step as a bird was willing to take flight to discover those new horizons.
With that thought, he doodled a small silhouette of a bird in the sky in the corner of his parchment. A word and a tiny sketch too, just for fun.

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ “You’ve got that right, my friend,’’ Harv responded to Zephyr in his usual nonchalant manner. “Sandwiches first, maybe other types of snacks later.” At least this would be his modus operandi for this event.
Harvey shot a concerned look at his Head of House. He hoped whatever the situation was, it would work out. But aside from that, he thought no more on the issue. Not when it was clear professor Cox was carrying on the meeting now, which was fine by him. Besides, the show of making things appear momentarily distracted him but not enough to impress him. Harv could have yawned in boredom had it not been for the cold chicken sandwich which he was devouring at a measured pace.
Starting off with a small activity? This was interesting. This first year did not possess what one would call artistic talent. Still, after he selected the necessary materials, he proceeded to draw a light bulb in blue ink. Inside the bulb, he attempted to draw a brain in bronze ink. It was the brain that did a number on him. See, for one thing, the lines he drew looked more like worms doing a very complicated dance together. For another, the left hemisphere looked bigger than the other. Eh… it would have to do. He finished up by using charcoal to add a touch of highlights to the image. This was not his best work, but it certainly wasn’t the worst. He vaguely wondered if he showed it to Nebula, what her reaction would be.
And now he was rather curious about what his Housemates came up with. Nomming another sandwich, Harv watched those who hadn’t finished their project as yet, at work. |

He wanted to see how everyone was reacting to the meeting or more specifically, their body language. His gaze drifted across the common room as he subtly studied his fellow Ravenclaws. And in a sense, he truly was studying them. River simply liked to observe.
He brought his attention back to Zephyr, offering a soft smile. "I'm doing great. How are you doing?" His Scottish accent was gentle, though there was an unmistakable note of excitement beneath it. The meeting had clearly energized him. Food? Oh, right...FOOD. "I might grab some in a little bit. I'm not really hungry right now." Not really hungry? That was just a small white lie. He was hungry, but the excitement of the house meeting had easily suppressed it. Riv shifted his attention to Professor Cox as the meeting officially began. He listened closely to the question posed. Wait...one? One word? Could someone really describe Ravenclaw in just one word?
River thought carefully, turning possibilities over in his mind. When one finally settled firmly in place, he raised his hand. "One word that comes to my mind is individuality." The Scottish boy smiled, confident in his answer. He didn’t believe he was wrong after all, there were a million words one could use to describe this house. They all shared the same goal, yes, but to River, Ravenclaw was the most diverse house in all of Hogwarts.

He made a small circular motion with his index finger in the air, as though winding an invisible mechanism. "If you would turn your boards outward and let your housemates see what you've come up with and leave them facing outward for a bit."
He pivoted smoothly on his heel and extended one hand toward the opposite wall. With a measured sweep of hand towards opposite side of the room, a large board appeared on the wall beside the announcement board. "This," he said evenly, lowering his hand, "will serve as our working mood board for Ravenclaw. You are free to add your word or drawing you came up with just now to it, or anything else that feels representative of Ravenclaw for the remainder of the term."
He clasped his hands behind his back, posture straightening as he began to walk slowly between them, hazel eyes giving each student's board proper consideration. "Now, he continued, gaze sharpening slightly as he came to a gradual stop. "Consider your parchment and the parchments of your housemates. As I am sure you all recall, at the start of term Headmaster Winterbottom informed you that the end-of-term feast would not simply conclude the year with a traditional meal, but rather it would become an interactive celebration." His brow lifted faintly, a part of him already dreading the whole loud ceremony of it all. "With that in mind, how do we translate what you have just shared into something experiential?"
He resumed pacing, this time taking a slow outer route behind the students rather than in front of them, hands still folded neatly at his back. "If Ravenclaw values wit and intellect, for example, do we bring something like the bronze knocker to the Great Hall? A challenge booth, perhaps. Solve the riddle correctly and it transforms into a prize." He recalled those silling fishing games he had once partaken as a very young boy at carnivals and almost smiled as the memory filled him, his fingers tapped lightly against his opposite wrist."If we value the pursuit of knowledge, does that become a scavenger hunt? Rowena's 'not-so-lost' diadem hidden somewhere within the hall?" He pivoted cleanly where he stood, robes shifting with the motion. "Or something more physical and emphasizes precision and observation. An Eagle-Eye Spell Toss, for example."
He stopped pacing, hovering somewhere near the newly revealed mood board. "No idea is off the table. As Mr. Kaysen noted, Ravenclaw is a house of individuality and that means breadth." He brought his hands together once before extending them outward, palms open in invitation with a slight tilt of his head.
"The floor is yours." OOC:

Collin O'Shea Owl Post | Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ Cat was skeptical. It seemed unlikely now that Professor Cox just happened to have clothing that matched the Ravenclaw common room drapes so well, but she would let it go for now. She was watching, though. Always watching.
She had other things to worry about for now, though. Including their first assignment. What did Ravenclaw mean to her? Her mind went first to what she felt like were the basics - knowledge, intelligence. And it wasn’t that those were bad answers, but they didn’t really represent the house for Cat. After a moment, she wrote Curiosity on her board. The strong desire to know or learn something. That was what Ravenclaw was for Cat; more important than the actual knowledge or intelligence was the desire and motivation to have them. At Mira’s question, Cat tipped her board to the side so her friend could see the word. Then turned it around at Professor Cox’s instructions to show her housemates.
She read through the other words and drawings from those in the room. Then she considered Professor Cox’s examples of Ravenclaw-esque activities. Then there was the mood board.
Cat raised her hand. “Maybe something like the challenges Harry Potter did to get the Stone. Not that big, obviously, but, like, where you have to know spells or other things to beat puzzles to get to the prize, but you don’t even know what the prize is so part of the Ravenclaw of it all is just wanting to know for knowledge’s sake.” As she spoke, her words came faster in her excitement to get her idea out. She paused, took a breath, then finished. “Curiosity.” To tie it back to her original word, see.

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Levi had reverted to focusing on his sandwich by the time Cox announced that they could turn their boards outwards. Cramming the rest of his snack into his mouth and chewing furiously, he did exactly that. Naturally he also took a sweeping look at what his Housemates had come up with. For sure, there was much, much better artwork than this. This did nothing to dampen his spirits, however. Then there was the new board suddenly appearing. A moodboard! Nice! For now, the first year would sit with his little sketch while he contemplated the professor’s words.
Uh huh. Winterbottom’s words hinting at something special were easy to remember, and Levi liked this idea the staff members had come up with. So er… what did he suggest? Don’t mind him munching again while his brain was wracked. And while he was at it, he kept glancing at what the others had come up with for inspiration. There was curiosity, which was mentioned by Cat. Then he looked down at his own and an idea sprang into mind. Levi raised a hand, sandwich in it since he was holding his sketch in the other. “We can make a game out of drawing and sketching,’’ he said. “Each participant is given a prompt and they can translate that into their own artwork that represents Ravenclaw.” |

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Iris had been quiet for most of the discussion, chin tipped slightly downward as she listened. Not inattentive—never inattentive—but merely processing the information as Un―Professor Cox delivered it. The mood board was noted but thoughts and focus on it ended there as her attention shifted to looking at the other words and designs her housemates had come up with to represent Ravenclaw, hoping something in them would strike inspiration like a match to dry kindling. It did not, not entirely, but she did know that her nose wrinkled at the corny suggestion of some sort of Eagle Eye challenge with spellcasting and accuracy.
Mulling over things for a bit longer, the fifth year raised her hand and offered her own two knuts. "I rather like the spirit of both ideas," she began thoughtfully, glancing first toward Cat and then towards Levi and the suggestion about drawing. "Curiosity and interpretation are very Ravenclaw qualities." Her gaze drifted briefly upward, as if arranging the thought properly before continuing. "If the activity is simply trivia or riddles with prizes, it becomes a competition of memorisation. But Ravenclaw values insight just as much as knowledge." Iris sat up a little straighter, warming to the idea now that it had begun to take shape.
“For example...something like a chain puzzle could work rather well during the feast. A small table or stand near the Ravenclaw section of the Great Hall with a riddle posted. Solving it doesn’t award a prize immediately, but rather directs the participant to the next clue somewhere else in the hall...or perhaps different objects on the table and the aim is to end on one specific item." Her fingers traced an absent pattern on the back of her hand as she elaborated. "The final answer could reveal…nothing particularly valuable at all. Just a note explaining that the reward was solving the puzzle in the first place." She glanced around the room again, a little sheepish at the philosophical turn that had taken. "That seems rather Ravenclaw to me."
After a moment she added another thought. "Alternatively, or in addition, we could do something involving observation. Intelligence isn't only about recalling facts but also about noticing things other people overlook." She counted lightly on her fingers, lips pursed as the thought continued to take shape. "How many enchanted candles were floating above the staff table. Which professor changed seats. Whether the second Ravenclaw banner in the Great Hall was to the left or to the right of the Hufflepuff one. Participants are permitted to look at a particular still life set up for 30 seconds and then asked to sketch it from memory." Her shoulders lifted in a slight shrug. "It would reward attentiveness rather than rote knowledge."
This was decidedly more productive than thinking about Slytherin boys and their deeply unhelpful combination of nice hair and handsome eyes.

| Baguette | there is no D in my name | TRAITORclaw | Queenie of Narnia Zephyr agreed with Harvey's plan, and he gave him a thumbs up and a grin to show it. Sandwiches and then the rest of the snacks was a good choice! "I'm good too," he told River. Oh, he wasn't hungry? "That's okay. There's loads up there so I'm sure there'll be plenty if you want some later." The professors and elves were very generous, so they wouldn't be running out of food for awhile, he was sure.
Zephyr took a few thoughtful bites of his sandwich after he had finished writing and sketching his word, curious about what others had written. But he didn't have to wait long to find out, because now time was up and Professor Cox was telling them to share what they had written. So he did just that, lifting his up and looking over everyone else's.
Interesting! His housemates had come up with some good ones, he thought.
The moodboard was interesting too, though he didn't dwell on it for long. If it was up for the rest of the term, then he could check it out later. There was something else for him to focus on - an event at the end of term instead of the regular feast. Cool! That sounded like a fun idea, having all the houses work on some kind of activity. Zephyr was a fan.
So...what could their part of the event be?
He was puzzled, feeling like he simultaneously had no idea and too many. It was like tiny little ping-pong balls being thrown his way, too small to really grab any particular one, when what he wanted was a real golden snitch idea, something exciting and fun.
So he listened to what others like Cat and Levi and Iris were suggesting, and that finally sparked a few possibilities for him. "Jumping off Cat's suggestion," he said, raising his hand, "with the Stone challenges, we could do the winged keys one. Maybe instead of a door there could be a few different treasure chests, with each one in a different style and each one has different prizes, and you have to match the right key to the right treasure chest, so it tests your observation skills. And you can use any method to try to catch one, whether it's a broom or a spell or just running after one and grabbing it, whatever someone's comfortable with." The original challenge had required a broom, but there were people who didn't use them, whether because they were scared of heights or just didn't like it or any other reason, and it didn't seem fair to him to require it and thus exclude them from enjoying or participating. Individuality was important after all! "And you don't know what prize is in each chest, so you have to make your best guess and find the key to the one you want." So there was still that curiosity element, plus insight and observation. "I also like the chain puzzle idea," he continued, glancing at Iris. "And- well, I guess this defeats the purpose of just solving it being the reward, but what if there was a puzzle piece that goes with each riddle, and then once you solve all of the riddles, you can put the pieces together, and they form a picture of something Ravenclaw-related. Maybe even draw from pictures that are added to the moodboard or something." Just an idea though.

| sincerest apologies, life has been LIFING astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Cox nearly smiled. Nearly.
He listened as ideas unfold naturally, hands clasped behind his back as he listened to each suggestion in turn. His attention shifted from student to student with the same quiet precision he used when observing a brewing potion ― noting structure, watching for patterns, identifying where one thought naturally built upon another. Now and then he gave a small nod, once even tapping a finger lightly against his sleeve as if committing a detail to memory. When the discussion finally began to settle into the comfortable lull that follows a good exchange of ideas, he stepped forward again.
"Very good." His voice carried easily across the room, though it was not raised. "I have taken note of each of your suggestions." One hand lifted briefly toward the ledger now tucked beneath his arm. "They will be brought to the Headmaster for consideration. The Great Hall, as you might imagine, has certain spatial… limitations, and the scope of some of your ideas may require refinement before we know what can reasonably be accommodated and I would very much like to see to it that each suggestion be woven into the final event somehow." A faint pause. "But what interests me more," he continued, gaze moving slowly across the room, "is the trend emerging among them."
He shifted his weight slightly, one hand now resting lightly against the edge of a nearby table.
"Curiosity." His eyes flicked briefly toward Miss Webb. "Observation." Toward his niece Miss Harden. "Interpretation. Creativity." From Miss Harden to Mr. Singh-Phora. "The pursuit of answers not merely for reward, but for the satisfaction of discovery itself." His attention settled on Mr. Amstern and another small pause followed.
"Riddles that lead to further riddles. Challenges that reward perception. Games that encourage creativity rather than simple memorization." His brow lifted faintly. "Even the possibility that the true reward might simply be understanding."
He glanced briefly toward the mood board on the wall.
"I suspect Rowena herself would approve."
Straightening fully, Cox smoothed one sleeve and allowed the moment to settle.
"Add to the board as inspiration strikes you in the coming days. If a new idea emerges, you are welcome to share it with me."
Then, with quiet finality, he brought his hands together in a single, measured clap. "That will be all for this evening." His gaze swept the room one last time. "The meeting is adjourned. You are, of course, welcome to remain — mingle, discuss further, and avail yourselves of the remaining snacks."
His attention drifting pointedly toward the scattered charcoal sticks and ink.
"Do try not to leave charcoal fingerprints on the upholstery." OOC: Thank you all so much for coming to the meeting and sharing your ideas! I also want to apologize for the delay in getting this wrap-up post out — everyone brought such thoughtful and creative concepts to the table!
Because there were so many great elements across multiple suggestions, I will be working with the Hogwarts faculty team to consolidate and merge ideas into one cohesive Ravenclaw activity for the End-of-Term Feast. The goal is to create something that captures as many of the themes and strengths you all highlighted as possible while still keeping it easy and fun to roleplay during the event.
Thank you again for the creativity and enthusiasm you all brought to the discussion — it was wonderful to see Ravenclaw thinking in action!
