A set of paths, some stone, most dirt, link the wooden bridge to almost every other area of the Hogwarts grounds. You will more than likely use these pathways at some point to reach your grounds-based classes, to visit other outdoor locations, or simply to take a walk and clear your head. This is a quiet area of the grounds with the soft sound of leaves rustling in the wind or lightly crunching below your feet. Doesn't the air just seem fresher around here somehow?
Walk with a friend, sit and relax on one of the many benches placed in intervals along the numerous pathway routes, climb a nearby tree, take a moment to appreciate the great outdoors in this breathtaking part of the country. Just be careful not to trip on loose stones or roots as you go. The groundskeeper does what he can to keep the pathways maintained, but he can only do so much.

For Ali/Ary!

For mid January the weather surprising wasn't all that cold. It wasn't raining either which was always a plus. So obviously Bryony was taking full advantage of this AND the fact that it was a Saturday. Time spent outside without focusing on anything more than a relaxing day was exactly what was needed. Studying for NEWTs was exhausting. One day doing nothing wouldn't hurt anything.
Along one of the lesser used paths, laying across a bench is where this seventh year could be found. Her arms were folded behind her head as she stared up through the leafless treetops at the clouds slowly drifting by. Though her attention might be on clouds that were shaped like rabbits and flowers, Bry was very highly aware of all that was going on around her. Which, at the moment really wasn't anything at all.

Ary in all honesty did not know what Bry was talking about. January was one of the coldest months in his opinion. Thank goodness there was magic to combat the awful chill in the form of Warming Charms for one’s clothing. Thank goodness he had mastered said Charms so that there was no need for him to be a bother to anyone by asking them to apply the Charms. The seventh year was drawing his gloves over his hands more comfortably as he hurried to keep up with his girlfriend. Why did she have to choose the outdoors today, he wasn’t sure; not when the Room of Requirement could have been a viable option. Still, he wasn’t complaining.
The Slytherin eventually caught up to find Bry lounging across a bench. Er… should he disturb her or not? She looked quite peaceful and at ease. Okay, that cemented his decision: Aryan opted to take a seat on another bench, the one closest to Bry’s.
Ah yes.
This was such a relaxing moment.
He had better soak it up because once Bry became aware of his presence, there would be a whirlwind of her words and bouncy energy.

Oh, sweet sweet Ary. Didn't he already know that a little cold never bothered her anyway? The boyfriend was so bundled up, Bry wasn't even sure how he was keeping up with her. Joking, joking. Ary had definitely gotten much faster over the years and often didn't have to difficult a time in matching her pace. As for the Room of Requirement, sure she could've chosen that as their place of enjoyment for the day but why do so when they could take in actual fresh air?
Now, now... Did he expect her NOT to notice his presence? It didn't take long at all before one blue eyes cracked up and fixed itself upon the boyfriend. "Whatcha doing all the way over there?" Cue the immediate pouting and fake looks of sadness. Did he not know just how far away he had sat from her? He was ALWAYS welcome to disturb her. Always.

Oh, Ary did know this about Bry. How could he not when he knew practically about her? No trait, likes or dislikes of hers were a secret to him. Him keeping up wasn’t too bad, perhaps due to his new-ish ‘hobby’ of morning jogs and some of that ninja training with Bry was finally paying off in the manner that he was not out of breath or left behind in this trek to the Pathways.
It made sense that Bry noticed him a short time later. Her ‘Ary senses' must have been going off so wildly. “Just giving you a moment. You looked very content and relaxed.” Such a pretty sight it had been. Since Aryan didn’t need further convincing to join Bry on that bench, he got up from his to do exactly this. “Better?” he asked, sitting close to her.

This.. was a fact. Ary did know everything about her and the same could be said for her knowing everything there was to know about him. This could be thanked to their parents whom wholeheartedly fostered their lifelong friendship. Once again, he was so very welcome that she had claimed him as hers since day one! He was welcome for that as well. Ary deserved all the praise for the great progress he had made with his jogging and training with her. It had taken her AGES to get him to ACTUALLY agree to join her for ninja warrior training and not just being there to cheer her on. And Merlin knew how happy she is with her accomplishment.

Indeed their fates had been intertwined even before their respective parents had even known the two existed. Bry’s claim on him had always been strong and continued to be so. Ary was used to it, of course, even if he sometimes wondered what it was like not to have someone so obsessed with him. Still, he would do just about anything for her. Which included making her happy with the small gesture of sitting beside her now.
He shrugged, a small grin tugging his lips. “I try,” he said modestly. Ary intertwined his fingers comfortably with Bry’s. He felt quite at peace, one of the rare times when he wasn’t dreading NEWTs. Speaking of… Bry seemed to have read his mind. “Not bad at all. With Jan and Rors helping, things are going smoother than I would have expected. Then there’s studies with you. You’re a big help too.” And he was grateful for her. “What about your Animagus training?”

That is where the two of them differed. Bry had never once in her life have any thought to not being attached to Ary. Honestly she couldn't imagine life without him. Should he ever need his space... All he had to do was tell her so. And well, perhaps she'd listen. Joking, she'd do whatever she needed to do to ensure his happiness.
"You try, hm? I doubt you even need to." Perfection was what he was and no one could tell her any different. Now that his hand was comfortably in hers, she traced random patterns on the back of his hand with her thumb. Bry smiled up at him. "That's great. I know you're going to do fantastic on the exams." The boyfriend was not only smart but he picked up on things quicker than she did a lot of the time. Ah, yes, her training. There's wasn't too much to say. "As good as it can be at the moment. There's really nothing more I can do but continue to wait for an electrical storm..." Which of course. Was taking ages upon ages to occur because she needed it to! With any luck one would happen sooner rather than later.

That much was also true: Bry was indeed willing to make adjustments for whatever made him happy. Ary was grateful for this, naturally, and he never tried to take advantage of her willingness. So, now he chuckled. “Bry, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I really think that you’re biased when it comes to me.” It wasn’t an accusatory tone in which he said those words; he was simply reminding her that he would be okay if she wanted to give anyone else the same special treatment she gave him.
“Thanks for the encouragement, Bry. You know how much I’m dreading Transfiguration but quite positive I’ll score an O in CoMC." Ary patted Bry’s hand which he was holding with his free one. “I admire your patience and dedication to the entire process. It’s quite a lengthy one. I doubt I’d have been able to be that steadfast…” He also admired Idris and Paul for already committing themselves to it. “Have you got any idea when’s the next storm?”

Oh, sweet Ary. Even if he had ever taken advantage of her willingness to give him everything he wanted, she probably wouldn't have even noticed. Plus, he spoiled her just as much, didn't he know that? Exhibits one and two being Moon Child and Falkor. "Blah, blah, blah.." she grinned at him, holding up her free hand to imitate a talking motion. "So what if I am?" Lots of others were given her attention... Just... He didn't have to do anything at all to get all her attention and time should he want it. Not to worry boyfriend, as much as she was attached him, she also gave herself plenty of time to be with friends, family and do all the things she liked.
"I do buuuuuuut I know you'll get that you'll do spectacular." Bry would happily work with him on Transfiguration. Over the years she had become quite good at it, thank you Animagus training. The pat upon her hand had her smiling up at him. The blonde laughed softly, shaking her head. "Nah-uh, I know if it were something you were truly interested in you'd be able to pull it off too but seriously thank you. It's been... A lot." And he had been there for her all this time. Goodness knows she hasn't been easy to deal with, especially when she had messed up keeping that mandrake leaf in her mouth... Not once but twice! Pulling out a breath and crinkling up her nose, a shoulder was also shrugged. "Not a clue and that's the hardest part of it. It can be tonight of six months from now..." Please don't let it be six months from now!
