The Greenhouses (Bored? Loads to do here!)
 

Professor Phoenix stood in the greenhouses with a frown on her face. The tip of her right index was pressed against her mouth, and she appeared to be in deep thought. After a while, she shifted her position a little, the frown increasing as her large Devil's Snare in the corner made a hissing noise. Then she dropped her hand and sighed.

The summer holidays had not done the plants well. Although they had been looked after, many of them were simply dangerous and had to be handled with immense care. Professor Phoenix passed up and down the rows, testing how damp the soil in each pot was and adding water nearly everywhere.

However, some students had asked her if they could do some extra work in the greenhouses last term, and she was only to glad to give them the opportunity. If they wanted, she had many things that needed to be done while she busied herself cutting back the Devil's Snare, and maybe even going into the caves to check on the Fireseed Plants, although they usually didn't need much attention.

After a while, Professor Phoenix stepped out of the conservatory for the most dangerous plants, securely locking the door behind herself. She was about to enter the first greenhouse when she transfigured a leaf on the ground into a sheet of parchment, pulled out a pencil from her apron and scribbled a note on it.





She signed it and stuck it to the door with a charm before disappearing inside to continue her rounds.

Annabel walks in and asks "Excuse me, but is this where I come for extra credit?"

*Chris Walks down to the Greenhouse and sees the Professor there...* Hey Professor! I read your sign up at your office, and was wondering if I could help with anything? *Chris waits patiently as he stands there...*

*Jennifer walks toward the greenhouse, and spots Professor Pheonix* Hello, Professor. I would love to help you out for some extra credit!

Jenna walked up to the professor pheniox.
" Professor Is extra credit still available?" Jenna asked " if so could I help with anything?

Reign walks in eager to help out and get some extra credit if its still available.

Annabel walks over to the Honking Daffodils, and starts to water them. When she is finished, she helps a little with trimming back the Roses.

"Hello, professor," Nadia greets as she approched the daffolids. "Head you needed help."

Waving her wand once, she produces some water from the tip of it, letting it fall on various plants -- she had to be quick because it was extra difficult to pour only the exact amount with her wand producting all it wanted. Watering only so that the soil beneath got tainted in a darker shade, she started with another. It was quite relaxing, and a good distraction from her thoughts. The air felt clean and the view was beautiful. She hoped she could do this often.

While finishing with the third plant and starting with the fourth, she asked. "Professor, the ever changing roses, they are beautiful by the way, but I was wondering how you 'clip back'. I've never done it before I'm afraid I mess up."

"On the other hand, I'm good at debugging and extracting damaging plants from the soil. If you need some of that, do tell."

***Hamsteries walks into the greenhouse*** Professor? Is there any thing that I can do to help?

Mercurio appears, does a ballet-dance step, turns and bows, and then starts clipping back the ever-changing roses.

Peony stared curiously at the dancing Puck. She had never taken ballet, so even the most elementary of moves seemed graceful to her. "Hello," she greeted, fingering a rose. "What house are you?"

Reign doesnt wait for the Professor's reply. She picks up a broom and enthusiastically starts sweeping. "I can sweep! I'm good at sweeping, both the muggle way and the wizarding way. I'm good at other stuff too, I use to help Mum out in the garden, but I can just sweep for now, if you want."
Reign doesnt bother to notice the other students in the greenhouse looking at her weird.

Lol, I think the heat is doing some weird things to people in here ^___^

*starts to sing 'I feel pretty, oh so pretty~' while watering another honking daffodils -- which starts moving to the music! Ah, wait, it's only honking.... :P

"Oh yeah it is!" Annabel exclaimed..::wink::

Annabel feels that Mercurio is taking delight in trimming the Ever-Changing Roses. She steps back and watches for a moment, chuckles, then starts to help sweep up the opposite side of the room.

OOC: Annabel_Lee, is your name from that Edgar Allan Poe poem?

Peony sighed, tweaked the everchanging roses, and lurked around.

OOC: I know the poem, but no, a song was in my head when I thought of it..:)

Annabel finishes sweeping, and decides to go help water some more of the plants, humming to herself with a slight smile on her face.

OOC: Oh. Oh, and I like your siggy, by the way.

Peony picked up a broom, looking at it indecisively. Tentatively she swept it across the floor, and stared at the tiny mountain of dirt she gathered.

OOC: Thanks! I can't tell what the circles are, but I like the rest, and I adore your penguin, he's the cutest! :)

Annabel glances over at Peony, then goes to get the dust pan, and holds it for Peony. Then she asks "Should we mop too, surprise her with shiny floors?"

Eric entered, glancing around curiously.

OOC: LOL. I like the penguin too. *pokes*

Peony grinned. "Why not? My name's Peony, by the way. Who're you, a fellow Ravenclaw?"

Annabel smirked, held out her right hand for Peony to shake. "I'm sorry, I'm Annabel Lee, but you can call me Annabel, or just Ann is fine even. Yeah, I'm a Ravenclaw, I like it here alot too..excuse me a moment.." Annabel rushes over to fill up a bucket of water and grabs two mops. Careful not to spill the water, Annabel makes her way back to where she was just standing, hands over a mop to Peony, and begins to mop.

"So what year are you in?"

Annabel realizes that angelwings came in.."Hi, I'm Annabel. Want something to do? I was just about to leave, I've been in here working for ages. Here, you can help Peony finish mopping."

"Bye for now! I'm sure I'll see you guys soon!" Annabel turns, and exits the room feeling good about how much she was able to help.

"Thank you very much Annabel. Anybody who wants can help," Professor Phoenix said with a smile. "I'll notify you about the house points," she added. "You are doing good jobs, thank you very much.

"Hmm," she then said, standing in front of a heap of leaves. "This here is a Dransul, and a cheeky one at that. I'm sure it could find its own food, but if someone wants to, you can feed him: Usually, he'll have a small mouse."

Reign looks around and sees that since she started sweeping everyone else started sweeping, so she decides to let them do it while she goes to find a small mouse for the Dransul. Excitedly she runs out of the greenhouse to find some.

Reign returns shortly later with a small cage full of mice that she got from the gameskeeper, and starts to feed the Dransul, being careful to make sure they dont mistake her hand for a mouse. She watches as the Dransul gobble up the mice. She is unsure if she should be fanscinated by this or sickened.

"Ew, GROSS!" Shannon yells as she walks up behind Reign. She has just come in to see if there is anything she can do, and this is the first thing she sees?? She hopes she gets a less disgusting task to do as she asks, "Professor...is there any...anything I can do to help?"

Nadia did already too much watering and thuoght about helping Reign - but! Looking at the Dransul edgy... "I feel bad for the mouse. Could we use already dead mice or does it has to be fresh? I'd prefer not to see give the poor creature suffer, you see."

*blinks* "What about I ask Mr Shrine? He lives near the forest and has to take care of them daily, having to take care of the cabbages and pumpkins in his garden. He probably has some dead mice! The same used to feed Buckbeak when Hagrid was the GameKeeper."

*brushes herself and starts away*

"I'll go ask, professor, excuse me. Be back in a minute!"

Reign looks at Nadia. "If its okay with the Professor, then I'm all for it, but I just think that if this Dransul was in its natural habitat it would be eating live food anyway, its the circle of life as cruel and grim as it may be."

Reign looks lovingly at the Dransul. "Its quite remarkable actually." :)

"Oh! No problem professor! Anything to help, I don't mind at all..:)" Annabel said with a twinkle in her eye. She really liked being in here with all the beautiful and strange plants.
"By the way Professor, is there anything else I can do?" She asks looking around.

'Afternoon Professor Phoenix.'

-Laura entered the greenhouse and looked around at all the busy people. She hurried and to give her assistance to Professor Phoenix and the rest of her classmates-

Is there anything new that needs to be done? Everything so far looks like its been well taken care of.

-Laura said as she admired the work of the others. She hoped there was something left for her to do here.-

Hi Professor, is there anything I can do to help out?

while all of the other students are busy feeding the Dransul, Jennifer keeps mopping the floors, hopping no one will make her watch the poor little mice lose their lives

Professor Phoenix stepped down to the greenhouses in the early afternoon. She scribbled a list of tasks to do on the blackboard before going to work herself with a smile.

Francis walks in and with a smile, she starts to feeding the dransuls. She grabs some of the mice in the top shelf, and starts giving them to the dransuls. After she does so for 20 minutes, she starts scrubbing some of the desks. After about 30 minutes of doing so, she asks the Professor. "Excuse me.. How do we prune the rainbow roses?"

Catherine walks in and looks at the jobs written on the blackboard. She then notices Kay scrubbing a filthy, dirty desk and walks over to help her. "Hi"

::genie sees jennifer mopping the floor and grabs a mop to help her out::

hey jennifer, thought you could use some help with this

Catherine grabs some cleaning supplies and chooses a desk. *scrub,scrub* "Time for some elbow greese !" she says and starts to laugh.

kagome walks in and sees some desk not being cleaned so she starts cleaning them

Reign walks in and sees people feeding the Dransul and washing desks so she decides to start watering the Buttercup Bushes.

Catherine just finished washing the desk.Squeeky clean!! She moved on to another desk,now there were only 4 more desks left to do!

::genie dipped her mop back into the water and accidentally got dirty water all over the bottom of her robes::

oh yuck...oh well, back to work.

kagome finsed watering the buttercup bush and started feeding the Dransuls.

Lina enters the Greenhouse and sees that students are busy working. The only thing left seemed to be the pruning of the Rainbow roses. After reporting in to Professor Phoenix, she put on her dragonhide gloves and went to work. The roses smelled wonderful and she started humming a song as she was cutting away the dead flowers and leaves.

After class with professor Airlia feeding Dransul with mice really gave her the creeps. Instead she resolved she would do the other things. As always, she started which what she less liked to the most entertaining activities. First she scrubbed the desk, starting opposite to Kay. Taking a mopped piece of clothing, she started, thinking she would do the Buttercup Bushes next and then the Rainbow Roses. She did the scrubbing as soon as she could to end the fastest ...and she might use Scourgfy for the most difficult spots!

-grabs a mop and starts helping Genie mop-

Lina continues the pruning of the roses and is really enjoying herself. After finishing one batch of roses, she picks up all the material from the ground and starts looking around for a garbage bin.

-finishes mopping the floor and begins watering the Buttercup Bushes-

-after done watering the Buttercup Bushes, she begins pruning the Rainbow Roses-

Catherine looked at the clock and suddenly remembers she has to meet up with someone for help. "Im sorry but I have to go now." She puts the cleaning materials where she found them and hurried out of the greenhouse.

-Afton finishes purning the rainbow roses, and then begins to help clean the desks. . . . . .-

kagome finished feeding all the Dransuls and started puring the roses

-begins feeding the dransuls thier food. . . . .-

Alex starts to scrub a few desks clean. After that she went over to start watering the buttercup bushes.

Hamsteries walks in and begins to prune the roses.... she prunes for about 45 minutes. Then she grabs a broom and sweeps up the mess she made into a trash can.

Jess walks in,she has no idea what she should do."Um excuse me but what should i do?" Jess asked a girl

After finishing sweeping, Hamsteries realizes that the rest of the floor is dirty and begins to sweep it up so that it looks presentable.

-finishes feeding the dransuls, and goes to the other side of the unnopped floor. She begins mopping it.-

Hamsteries replies to Jess:

Want to help sweep up the mess on the floor? Grab a broom : )

she finishes washing the desks and sees she made mass pruning the roses so she cleaned it up

Finished with the watering Alex goes back to the scrubbing of desks.

after that she started washing more desks

"sure" Jess replies and grabs a broom

kagome finsed cleaning up her mess and started washing desks again

::genie finishes mopping up the floor and begins to put her materials away::

becky clears all her stuff away

Seeing they were almost done with the desk scrubbing, Nadia leaves the spot to start with the watering. She takes a pot and approaches the Buttercup bushes, wondering about the name... but this was not class, so she preferred leaving it for later. Luckily this pots wheren't too heavy and most of them were charmed not to run out of water, if you knew how to use it. In other cases, muggle material would be needed to make it simpler. She poured water in a couple of Buttercups, relaxing at last. This became much more pleasurable than the last activity, needless to say.

-begins sweeping the rest of the floor...then mops it-

" hey afton house i havent seen you for ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" says becky and gives afton a big hug

Lina finishes the pruning of the roses and after cleaning up the mess she takes a bucket of water and a rag and starts scrubbing one of the few desks that was still dirty. This was not as nice as working with the roses, but it was something that needed to be done. She starts humming a song while dipping the rag in the water bucket and starting to scrub on a new spot.

-looks up from her mopping and sweeping-

"Hi Becky! how are you?"

-she asks while going over to scrub the desks-

Jan slips into the Greenhouse and gives the Professor a smile before getting to work. She notices some rainbow roses that were left, picks up a clean pair of shears and gets to work.

Nadia stops the watering and starts the pruning^^

She took her garden cissors and cut out those branches which were already dead or not looking too good. Those with blossoms, he didn't touch. Those areas where the insects have made dissaster, she tried mending or taking it out. She never had done something like this before, so she tried as a kind experiment, only have seen the professor or professionals do it. It was fun but dangerous, she thought, fearing doing something wrong. She also considered doing something else but, Dransul feeding? Please no. After Potion Class, she had gotten rather attatched to those little beasts...

She sighed. "Professor, I think I need help."

kagome walked in the room and looked what she should do she read her list she made earlyer Today

"well i better prune some roses"she said and then went to work

Francis finishes the scrubbing and the things she had being doing previously. Smiling that there were so many people helping out as well.

Riiya walked into the greenhouse and looked around. she saw the professor and bowed politely to her. "hi. i thought i'd..come here and help ^^ if you dont mind of course."

Hi Professor, I thought I'd come by and see what you needed help with today.

::Priya enters the green house and looks all around her and sees students busy helping the professor::
"Hey professor, do you need any more help?"

After wiping off many desks Alex starts to put stuff away in the cabinets and orgainizing the shelves. Wiping a little sweat off her brow she sighs as she continues working busily.

::genie sees a couple of desks in the corner that still have not been cleaned yet. she takes out some cleaning supplies and begins scrubbing away at the desks.::

Lyra begins scrubbing desks.

Seeing the professor was busy, she sighed. Should she attempt feeding the dransul. No way, that was out of question. So... Yes! I can do that! She thought to herself exciedly and brought a whistle out from her robes - chained ot her neck. She blow of it. It was only minutes later that Sparky, the Phoenix, came. She quickly wrote some things down in a piece of parchment and tied to her leg.

"I would ask for Some of the others to do this," she told the bird. "But they wuold eat the mice rather than bring it here. Be good to Mr Shrine from my part, Sparky."

Sparky did a little chirp-noise and flew off. While she waited, Nadia finished with some more pruning of the Rainbow Roses.

proffessor? can i still help? i want to help...

-sees the other half of the desks that have been missed. she quickly goes over and cleans them off...-

::helps anyways seeing the others are still doing so. she starts by getting some cleaning supplies in the closet and scrubs five filthy desks. next she grabs the mice on top of the shelf and starts feeding the Dransuls. then after feeding most of the dransuls have been fed, she starts putting o her dragon hide gloves and started cutting away the dead roses and dead leaves of the rainbow roses (which smelled lovely!). After that she remembers to put away all the other things she had taken out like the dragon hide gloves, the cleaning supplies, the mice jar. then after that she takes out the watering can and goes over to the buttercup bushes and waters them. after a while seeing that they're already well watered she returns the watering can and puts away the other things the other people forgot to return.

*sees that Gryffin got to the Rainbow Roses before she could... so HPfan9 walks over to some Rainbow Roses that are hardly seeable, with so many weeds and dead leaves. Hpfan9 starts to clip the dead leaves and pull the weeds.*
"What a ton of work!" she comments.
