While the evening probably would have been better spent studying for her NEWT exams, the idea of getting to design and show off a creature inspired costume for the party was truly just too good of a deal to pass up. So when notices had gone up, she'd gotten to work and was quite pleased with the end result as she made her way in the Great Hall.

An occamy had been the inspiration for her attire. Or... well she supposed a peacock was as well, considering the similarities in feather colors between the two creatures. She'd started the outfit with a rich purple base, a dress that had a slight slit to just above her knee to allow easier room for movement while the base went to about mid shin. And from there, she'd chosen to use magic this time to make the alterations to fit the theme. She'd been able to charm the attire into changing into blues and greens depending on what angle you were looking at her from in the room. This was perhaps once of the hardest projects she'd taken on, but as she gave a spin into the room she felt like it was absolutely worth it given the colors she could see change as she did so.

Looking up, she grinned at Professor Paton's attire but since the woman looked busy she did not move towards her. Instead she kind of just... hovered along the wall. The preparation had certainly been fun for this event but... now she wasn't quite sure what to do while being here.

Listen, Professor Paton was clearly one of the coolest people in Hogwarts faculty. Alongside Professor Khanna as well of course. So even if she'd been teenage angsting moping in her dorm in and out for the last few weeks, if one of those two were holding an event of course she was going to be in attendance. Though she'd certainly not gone as all out on her attire as the Ravenclaw in front of her, or Professor Paton either for that matter. She'd gone simple, but more out of laziness other than not having a flair for dramatics. A simple green dress was what she'd chosen to show up in, with a necklace that had a snake head on it that she'd managed to thrift over the summer and some green bracelets.

It was only when she realized she didn't at all look like any type of creature that she'd then gone for a little extra and used her make up and a liiiiittle bit of magic to make patches on her arms that looked like snake scales. She'd managed to do it for her eye lids and a spot on her right cheek as well. Was it perfect? No, but it was pretty good if she said so herself. From there it'd just been a changing of the shoes into something that also appeared snakeskin like in appearance. People who knew her probably would figure she'd gone with her favorite - the basilisk - but for anyone else who asked she was just going to claim to be from the Naga tribe, like Nagini.

Entering the Great Hall, the snake girl went straight for her Head of House and the dessert table. "Hi Professor. Need any help?" She looked like she was still straightening things up so... it didn't hurt to ask.

Earlier when Auden had painstakingly charmed some leggings and a long sleeve turtle neck to turn a beautiful shade of pale green, she’d been proud of herself. With her little head band with big leaves adhered onto it and her newly green almost knee high boots, the eleven year old felt she had totally understood the assignment! Everyone could tell she was a bowtruckle … right?

Looking around at the intricate decorations and foods all beautifully crafted to resemble creatures, she wondered if maybe she should’ve picked a more exciting creature and costume. Something that didn’t look quite so drab compared to everything. But really-how many creatures did she actually know about well enough to make a costume of? Just the handful she’d learned about in her first year studies-so all in all nothing outlandish. And it wasn’t like she was this amazing magical prodigy that could just conjure something dramatic out of thin air…so a bowtruckel really was pretty decent costume considering all that?…right?

Nodding along with her logic, she skirted the edge of the dance floor until she came to the tables ladened with food. Now, what to eat first?

Charlie Bergstrand was a huge fan of coordinating with friends, assorted family members and the girlfriend in get-ups. Whether it be a spectacular beard appearance at a Start of Term Feast with the besties or pulling together match Swedish Short Snout dragon outfits with Keighley. Charlie had been in one of his phases of missing home when Paton’s notice for the party had gone up and he immediately thought of attending as that particular dragon from his birth country. Naturally his supportive Keighley had wanted to go along with his choice too.

Wings, tail, the horned head of the dragon… Char’s outfit contained all the details. Magic was a spectacular thing. “Hi, professor,’’ he greeted brightly. Everyone would be able to see his face since the dragon’s face was actually on his head as opposed to it being over his own facial features. “Love your costume!” And he was pretty sure Keigh did as well. Might he add that she looked absolutely stunning beside him in her own costume?

"Mouse!" Charlie waved vigorously. "Hi! Grab a table with us?" If she wanted to, of course. "You make a nice occamy, by the way.

A creatures’ event…with a dance party mixed in?

Yes please for one second year Gryffindor. Nadia had certainly gotten excited when she had read the notice, knowing right away what she was going to come dressed as. And she managed fairly well, despite not having some of the spell work the elder students might have at their disposal. Thankfully certainly house accessories led to her creature of choice, from striped red and gold socks to scarf which when added to the red dress and fiery shaded faux feathers she had added to her hair and clothes made her closely resemble a phoenix as much as she could.

Entering the decorated Great Hall, Nadia took in the presences already there. Vera and Mouse…a firstie Ravenclaw and an elder Hufflepuff. “Hi Professor,” she greeted her aunt more formally given the number of others around though the smile on her face was the usual granted the woman before her. Even in her red panda costume given she was aware of her head of house’s ability of course.

There were many things that Keighley enjoyed. Dances and dressing up being right up there on the list. And these were two things that didn't come up often while at Hogwarts. Especially not getting to dress up as a creature for this dance. Now the real icing on the cake was that she was dressing up to match with Charlie!

The Hufflepuff knew her boyfriend had been feeling a bit homesick lately, so when he suggested they go as Swedish Short Snouts, Keigh readily agreed. She may have gone a little above and beyond with her detailing and matching the dragons coloring exactly but everything was there from the horns to the tail and wings. All in a silvery blue. And yes, thank you magic for helping with the intricate but delicate scale work that she had done on parts of her skin that occasionally shimmered when the light hit them just right. Sorry, Char but she needed to be a smidge girly with the costume.

Walking into the Great Hall, hand in hand with Charlie, Keighley took everything in right away. All the decorations, the music playing and of course the food! She would get to all of that though, there were people to great first. "Hello, Professor. Great costume!" Red pandas were so cute! "Hi everyone!"



It didn't take very long for the door to the Great Hall to open and for the students to start walking through in their costumes. This was what she really wanted to see. What creatures they would come as. Would the food or dance floor attract their attentions first? Perhaps neither and they would choose to mingle with their friends. Whatever the students decided was alright with her as long as the school rules weren't broken they would all have a wonderful time this afternoon.

"Hello, Miss Thanatos! Wonderful costume!" It was safe to safe that she thought she knew the young lady well enough in the creature department to know exactly what she was dressed as. Those that knew her as a professor and person might be surprised she hadn't dressed similarly. "Some help would be great, thank you. I'm just making sure that all of the trays are lined up neatly and nothing is too close to the edge of the tables. Everything has little cards on them that say exactly what they are (or are supposed to be!) She didn't want anyone being put off by anything because it was a strange color or anything.

Hovering along the wall didn't get mean that she hadn't taken notice of the lovely occamy! So hello to you dear. A smile was given in Minerva's (Mouses) direction.

Out of the corner of her eye, Hady saw a flash of green and had to turn to get a better look. Oh, my! How cute! "What a cute Bowtruckle you make, Miss Azarolla!" If the students were making these costumes all on their own, well they had some serious talent!

When a matching pair of dragons entered the room, it took a few seconds for the woman to realize she knew them both. One more so than the other being she was family but they both made her smile. "Hello, Mister Bergstrand, Miss Anders. Why, thank you! You two look amazing as well."

The entrance of another young familiar face, kept the warm smile on hers. "Miss Atreyu-Rehman, what a pretty phoenix you are!" It was so nice to see that they all seemed to have a good time dressing up today.

Hadleigh waited a few more minutes for any more students to arrive before she turned to them all. "Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming. I love all of your costumes, such creativity I've seen here already. Now please go ahead and enjoy the food and drinks that are set out for you all. Dance at your own leisure. Currently I do have the music playing randomly but that can be changed up upon request." In case anyone hadn't noticed there was also a theme with the music as well, creature related bands names or songs.

"I do have instruments set up on the dais if anyone knows how to play or even would like to sing." This was just an open invitation to them all, they didn't have to do so!"In a bit I will also be setting up a photo area for anyone that would like to partake in that." She knew how important it was to capture memories at their age. Well at any age honestly!

Charlie did not at all think that Keighley had gone too above what was necessary for their costumes. He just appreciated how much she had done to make him happy. He continued to swing her hand as he checked out the spread Paton had put out for them. “Thanks, professor,’’ he replied when the woman complimented their creature costumes. He and Keigh had worked so hard on them; it was nice that the costumes received positive recognition.

Now, this Puff was definitely not musically inclined {that honour went to Keigh’s family} but he was definitely up for photos! Who wouldn’t want to preserve these moments? “Photos first?” he asked Keigh hopefully. And maybe they could get a few with their friends too, seeing as this was the year he graduated.

Mouse truly wasn't even surprised her friendly neighborhood Hufflepuff's were the first to notice her and invite her into their presence, which was one she quite enjoyed. She wouldn't have dreamed on intruding upon the pair on her own, figuring couples liked spending the majority of their time together at these type of events without a third wheel, but when Charlie waved her over she was all too happy to make her way past the food tables and towards him and Keighley. She did eye the spread as she did so, and also sent a warm smile towards the other's in attendance and Professor Paton, before reaching the badger couple.

Well... Actually, Swedish Short Snout couple tonight.

"You guys look amazing! Did you make your own costumes?" And if not, they should tell her where they purchased because she very much needed more costume store ideas - even if she usually went DIY. "I love the matching. Though, I must say, Keighley wore it better." She smiled at the girl, before also grinning at Charlie. Hearing him ask his girlfriend about a photos, she gestured towards the tables. "I'll save a good spot for you guys after you're done." It would give her a chance to get some food as well.

Again to the food table she went, stopping next to the first year from her House (Auden) and smiling at the girl. "I don't know about you, but it's hard to decide which foods to start with first when all of it looks so intriguing." Which was exactly why she grabbed a small plate and began to put small helpings of each on it. "I like your bowtruckle costume, by the way! Very creative!"

Ve smiled at the compliment, smoothing the skirt of her dress as she did so. "Thank you, Professor. I like your red panda look." It also looked super comfortable, which was always an understated plus side to anything fashion related. Hearing the instructions on what Hady was trying to do currently, she gave a nod of understanding, "On it!" before moving a little further down the table and straightening things up a little more. There wasn't much to do, everything looked pretty near perfection as it was.

Hearing her Head of House's other greetings, Ve turned to also look at everyone's costumes, giving them smiles and waves as she did so - before turning her attention to Nadia. She was one of the ones she was probably most familiar with, who was not otherwise occupied so far. "Hi Nadia! I like your phoenix costume. It's also very A+ Gryffindor." House pride, for the win. Now that she was done with the tables, she considered the entertainment ideas before pointing up towards the dais. "Want to go look at instruments with me?" Did she play something? Absolutely not. But considering more and more it seemed the people around her had growing interests in music, it might be fun to just take a look. Dancing sounded fun too, but not until there was hopefully more people on the floor.

Was she taking the notice of the dance a bit too seriously? Perhaps, but her mum had sent her some dresses and there weren’t that many events she could wear them to. Sable Ileana had questioned the parcel upon its arrival as is, but the creature dance had provided her with at least one idea. And talking with Bestie had given her the rest, as the blonde had made her way down to the Great Hall. Decked out in a black dress with the addition of some black dragon wings and a horned headband. If anyone asked she was a Hebridean Black. The sparkles on the top of her dress in place of scales. It was simple, but effective, and she felt pretty.

For whom, even she didn’t truly know. She just wanted to feel pretty and she wasn’t going to question it. She just hoped nobody else would question it either. Nobody needed to, and she’d sent Professor Paton a wave as she headed over to join Vera over at the instruments. And Nadia, too. A snake, a phoenix and a dragon. It seemed kind of amusing to her, but not as much as playing an instrument did. She wasn’t musical at all, but she could be an enthusiastic bystander.

Just, a very dark one at the moment.

It was more a fondness for the professor than it really was for the subject, when it came to Giselle. Not that she minded the creatures lessons, and there were certainly some creatures she actually enjoyed learning about. But it was Aunt Hady, and a party. The creature aspect was pushed to the side, her enthusiasm more for a costume party rather than anything else.

Plus, it meant she’d get to see if her brother felt like dressing up. Or Fee. Or any of the others she particularly claimed as her people. The tiny brunette had donned a fairy costume as a matter of theme more than anything else. Gossamer petals attached to her skirt in nearly iridescent tones that matched the wings she’d attached to her back, a flower wreath in her hair. Besides, she’d fashioned little wings for Mysaria as well, so her kitten could be her sidekick. Fairies could have fairy pets too, right?

If only she could actually fly over to the creatures professor.

The young Ravenclaw blushed and smiled at the Professor even as her cheeks bulged out with the tasty morsel of food she’d crammed into her mouth. Auden wasn’t exactly sure what it was but all she knew was that it was a pastry shaped like an owl and it tasted like butter and chocolate. Golden flakes dusting the lower half of her face, she swallowed quickly. ” Thank you, Professor.” Smiling easier now, she pointed towards the professor’s own costume. ”And yours is amazing!”

And it was! Not a lot of people could pull off what essentially looked like a giant onesie, but Professor Paton definitely made it work!


Hearing a voice at her side, the eleven year old gave a start. Holy moly-no wait she really needed to get the hang of acceptable magical experlatives. Sweet Merlin’s self cleaning chamber pot, it was a seventh year Ravenclaw! Auden only knew she went by ‘Mouse’ but wasn’t really sure of her actual name.

Wiping furtively at her face with her sleeve-to try to appear like she’d hadn’t just essentially grabbed the first tasty looking treat she’d seen and gobbled it whole, the young witch nodded. ”Totally,” she agreed trying to look as if she too was studiously contemplating all the options. That seemed like a Ravenclaw-y thing to do, right? Fiddling with her headband, she gave the older girl a shy smile at the compliment. ”Thanks! You too! I mean yours is super creative too. It looks so magical!” She winced a bit as she heard herself. Magical, really? That’s the best she could do? She knew more words than that! Then again she wasn’t entirely sure what creature Mouse was supposed to be so maybe ‘magical’ was the best thing to say. Although the first year didn’t know her magical creatures very well yet, she knew it had to be some sort of peacock. A beautiful magical peacock.

Copying her elder housemate, Auden grabbed a small plate to serve herself a bit of everything too. With a small hand, she gestured down the table. ” The owl tastes good!” she blurted out-Belatedly realizing that maybe that sentence needed more context.

” I meant the owl shaped pastries over there, not owls themselves.” Cue nervous laughter. Before she could stop herself, the eleven year old rambled on in what her brother would call classic Audi word vomit. “I wouldn’t know if owls themselves taste good. I’ve definitely never eaten an owl before. I’m sure there’s cultures out there that do though. I imagine it’d probably taste like a gamier duck…Not that I plan to eat one soon. Or ever! Owls are friends not food!” Her laughter was high pitched even to her. Abort! Abort! No one thought you meant actual owls! ”Oh my, it sure is hot in here- hahahahaaaa”
If she could smack her forehead she would but her hands were occupied with food at the moment. Merlin’s mustache comb, she was really blowing this first impression. Maybe she should stuff another dessert in her face.

Hope had taken some time over her costume. It was a creature from her native North America and she wanted to do it justice here on this far-away continent. But she wound up nearly running out of time and arrived to the party slightly late and out of breath.

She was dressed as a Snallygaster, with a feathered headdress, makeup on her face suggesting a bird's beak, and a long cloak which she'd managed to transfigure to resemble wings (with a little help from an upper classman). Beneath the winged-cape trailed a long, tail-like train representing the reptilian tail. "Hi, Professor Paton, thanks for throwing a party, sorry I"m a little late," she gasped at her professor. Trying to attract further attention till she caught her breath, she headed over to the food table and nearly bumped into one of her House's first years. "Hi, Auden," she called out, and only then realized that the younger girl had her mouth full of food. Oops--Hope hated when people asked her things when she was in the middle of a bite. Wondering what was so good, Hope looked over to inspect the refreshment table.

A tall, shaggy shadow appeared in the doorway as the party got underway, looming menacingly over the other guests. But not to worry--it's only Professor DeVries in a furry hooded cloak and boots, dressed as the famous American Sasquatch. "Hello, Hadleigh!" he greeted his colleague cheerfully. "Great party, from the look of it."

Of COURSE Aurora was going to attend this Creature dance party and she was going full out with her costume. The second year had her blonde hair perfectly braided and had been charmed to be much longer and adorned with pink and purple streaks. Atop her head sat a headband covered in fake flowers and a beautiful pearlescent horn. She wore a pretty white dress, the waistband of which featured a pink ribbon which held her fake tail which resembled her braided hair in colour. On her legs were little leg warmers to resemble hooves in a similar pearlescent colour to her horn. There was no mistaking that Aurora had arrived dressed as a Unicorn!

Her tail swished behind her as she skipped her way along the corridors from her Common Room and towards the Great Hall. Her eyes lit up as she spotted the decorations and the desserts and the Professor dressed up as a Red Panda. “Everyone looks so CUTE!” she squealed delightedly. There were Dragons and Bowtruckles and a slightly scary looking Professor DeVries as a Sasquatch. Plus those desserts looked so yummy! The Ravenclaw unfortunately was not particularly good at singing nor did she have any idea how to play an instrument but she did enjoy singing along even if it wasn’t tuneful.

Mouse knew better than to think she would ever be a third wheel. Hadn’t the two of them been over this topic earlier in the term? “You do as well!’’ Char responded, meaning the words to the fullest. “We did! With the help of magic, of course.” He winked. “I don’t need to ask you that, though. You’re already quite creative.” So there was no way that the Ravenclaw would have asked anyone else to put together her costume. Her compliment for Keighley had Char grinning and bouncing happily on his feet. “Oh, I wouldn’t disagree there. Keigh makes the cutest Swedish Short Snout. Actually, she makes the cutest of anything.” So there were no hard feelings on his part about the girlfriend taking the spotlight. “Don’t go far, okay, Mouse? I really would like a couple of pictures with my friends just for the memories.” Looking around to see who else had arrived, the seventh year spotted Professor DeVries as a rather interesting Sasquatch and there was Aurora shouting about everyone looking cute. “You look pretty awesome yourself, unicorn friend,’’ Charlie complimented in return.

If it but a smile on his face, she would've gone crazy on the styling of their costumes. She had fun with it though, ensuring that she looked as much like a Swedish Short Snout dragon as she possibly could. Did he know who would be freaking out right now if she could see them? Bryony, that's who.

Ooohhhh, they were allowed to go up on stage and play?! Maybe she could get someone to join her a little later on and they could play something together. If not, she could always go up there by herself. Right now though, Char wanted photos?! "You bet!" They needed to have photos to remember today by. How else were they going to capture how cute they looked together as dragons?

Third wheel? Nah! No one ever needed to feel that way when hanging around with Charlie and her. She let Charlie do the talking though but nodded along in agreement as they did work on their costumes together but magic had a hand in it too. While she was creative she wasn't that good at costume making. "I love your costume though! It's beautiful!" Mouse really had an eye for detail. Ooh, hello there little Aurora unicorn! Wiggle fingers to you in greeting!


Charlie and Keighley both received a warm smile from her. You're both welcome. Go on and have a good time." There would be lots of time to chat later on.

Hady nodded at Vera. "Thank you, now a days I prefer comfort over much else." And the red panda was near and dear to her heart, much like snakes were. With the bit of help from the young Gryffindor they had everything straightened up on the tables in only moments and looking perfect! It was all that needed to be done and everything was in order as should be for everyone to enjoy.

Spotting Sable Ileana and one of her nieces Giselle join the party, Hadleigh smiled and gave a wave to both of them. "I love the costumes girls!" Another dragon only this one a black one and a lovely fairy. "Are those tiny wings on Mysaria?" She hadn't missed that! How cute!

Aaww, it was nice to see someone finally enjoying the food! Hady gave a very soft smile at Auden. "You're welcome, did you make the costume yourself?" Don't mind her for being curious. All these talented students made her very happy. "Oh, thank you. I decided to go with something simple." Never mind that it was her animagus form.

As another student came in, Hady couldn't help but notice how she went with a creature some likely wouldn't have chosen. This was why she liked holding parties like this. To let the students creativity flow and let them all have some downtime as well. "Hello, Miss Archard! You're not late at all, we've only just gotten started." So please, she should go on and have some fun with her friends!

Wandering over to get herself a drink as the students enjoyed the snacks and took photos, Hady paused at hearing her name. Her actual name and not "Professor". Turning her head she was met with a Sasquatch standing in the doorway to the great hall. The sight made her laugh softly. "Hello, Tapio! Thank you, things are going well so far. Come on in and join us, there's plenty of snacks to go around if you're hungry."

Hearing some shouts about how cute everyone looked was one way to catch this woman's attention very quickly. "You look very cute yourself, Miss Ackerly! What a fun unicorn costume she had made for herself!

Charlie offered Paton another smile. He definitely was going to take her advice on having a good time. There was so much to do and he couldn’t wait to be a part of everything! The photo booth was a great place to start. He really was feeling himself today, and wanted all the pictures. This was why he was so pleased that Keighley readily agreed with him. On second thought about Mouse though…

The seventh year reached out a claw {not a sharp one so there was no fear about anyone sustaining any injuries}. “Let’s go together right now,’’ he announced, literally bouncing on dragon feet. Mouse didn’t need any more confirmation that both he and Keigh wanted her along, right? “A pair of Short Snouts and a Peacammy? We make quite the good looking group.” Don't go bursting his happy bubble, Ravenclaw friend!

Siadragonbear's entrance of course was not unnoticed by Vera, who smiled at her friend as she joined her and the others that had followed along. She slipped her arm through her friend's, giving her a small squeeze in greeting. "By far the best looking dragon I've seen!" She told her, grinning. She suddenly felt like her outfit for the evening was a whole lot plainer because of how nice Sia really did come looking, but that didn't particularly bother Ve. Maybe a little more self conscious of herself, but mainly just happy to bask in the beauty of best friend. "We should get photos later too when it's less crowded over there. Maybe some with just us, and then anyone else in the reptilean/dragon family." Looking at you, Charlie and Keighley.

Squirrel Girl's excited entrance was of course not unnoticed as well, as Aurora loudly complimented the room upon her arrival. She was precious, wasn't she? Reminded her a lot of Scooter actually. Both her and Anna did. "Hi Aurora!" She gave a wave her direction as well, before attention turned again to the instruments. Maybe it was too bad she'd never tried to learn anything. Releasing Sia, she picked through some of them - avoiding those already magically playing - before pulling up what looked to be a recorder. "Think I could successfully play a tune on this?"

The younger eagle seemed a little bit embarrassed at the timing of Mouse's arrival, so out of politeness she suddenly paid a lot more attention to the side opposite the young girl and the food laid out there - giving her time to wipe at her face as she was currently attempting to do. It was only when she heard the girl's voice again that she turned back - a cookie having been procured as well as she did so. Auden's words didn't seem at all weird to Mouse, 'magical' was still a word she'd have used herself - even if after seven years now she was less shell-shocked by the magic world than she had been when she first received her own letter. "Thank you! I'm not sure I quite captured the essence of occamy but... I certainly feel like a peacock, and I'm pleased with that." They were one of the prettiest birds, perhaps second only to most parrots. "Did you make your bowtruckle costume yourself?"

And then suddenly, there was the smallest of rants going on about owls and the potential taste of them and Mouse was trying so desperately hard to not laugh in case it made the younger girl embarrassed. She certainly wouldn't want her to think she was laughing at her, just the word vomit was cute. "No problem, I figured you weren't planning on eating an actual owl. The History of Magic professor might know if anyone does though... because I hadn't really thought about it before. Professor Gert might know too." Just as a safety precaution, of course.

Hearing someone else call the younger girl, Mouse glanced back to see Hope's arrival and wave. She gave a smile to the other young Eagle as well, and another small wave, before turning her attention to Auden again for a brief moment. "Look's like someone is trying to get your attention." And it seemed like Charlie and Keighley were ready for her as well in the photo booth. Mouse snagged one last snack and placed it on her plate. "We should try to all get a Ravenclaw photo later as well, once others have arrived. I'll try to find you girls later!" Unless they weren't photo people that was, though they'd have to tell her that later as she was already giving another wave and heading to drop her now very full plate at a table.

"Twist my arm, why don't you!" She teased the pair of Hufflepuffs, giving a small giggle and a smile their direction. "A photo sounds lovely. Let's go ahead! I'm pretty fond of the Peaccamy title now too. You should trademark it." For what, who knew, but it was cute.

“Thank you,” Nadia remarked at the compliment her aunt had given at her costume. The woman’s own costume looking just as natural on her as her animangus form. And then Vera had come beside her with her own remark. “Hi…Thank you…” the girl chuckling at the house reference. “Well, it did make things easier.” Though it hadn’t been the only reason for her choice by a long shot. “And you’re quite a classy sssssssnake,” the younger girl returned. The Gryffindor had to admit she hadn’t caught everything that had been set up. “Sure!” She accepted the invitation, moving with her friend. There was music in her family, though she herself hadn’t gotten too into it.

Now she had thought to perhaps go along with her animangus form which was easy enough. It wasn’t like Hamish didn’t shed the occasional feather (even she did at times) or she could have tried her best to transfigure only parts of herself to look have human half creature. However, she opted to do something a bit different inspired by a recent chat with her eldest son who worked with a particular creature.

Her dress was solid hunter green, her robes were in various other shades including the occasional gold, the illusion transfigured into the garments made to look like dragon scales. And finally, there, sticking up from her curls, were the faux representation of distinctive golden appendages that the Romanian Longhorn Dragon its name. Perhaps a photo would be needed to amusing her adult children but for now she was simply joining the students and the duo of professors already there within the Great Hall. Her eyebrow raising slightly at a conversation off to her right.

“What might I know about?” she asked, having heard her name and moved closer to Ms. Durand and Ms. Azarolla to see if she could assist in whatever the knowledge she might have.

The extended 'claw' was accepted by one of her own ever so slightly smaller ones. Alright, we can go right now!" Keighley laughed softly, practically bouncing along (as best as she could on those dragon feet of hers!). Shining blue eyes glanced at Charlie when she realized that he too was bouncing on his feet. Merlin they were a cute pair of dragons!

"What type of photos do we want? Nice ones or silly ones or a mix?" A mix was probably a very good idea so that they had some fun memories. And don't mind her while she hurries them both along towards the photo area. "Once we finish up should we call the rest of our friends over and get photos with them too?" She knew Charlie was going to want all the photos of all his friends since he was graduating this year.


Watching the students mingle among themselves, gather to take photos with their friends and eat all the snacks she had prepared for them was the best part of the party. This was why she had planned all of this for them. A warm smile remained on her face as even as the doors to the great hall opened once again. Dragons were surely a theme today from what it looked like. "Went all out, did you, Celeste?" Hady smiled at her fellow professor. She loved all the work everyone was putting into their costumes!

Oh yes.

Charlie had definitely seen Keigh bouncing too. Later he’d tease her about his habit rubbing off on her. One thing that didn’t need rubbing off though? His level of energy; hers surpassed his tenfold. Before he knew it, Keighley was hurrying them all along. “A mix of both!’’ came the super thrilled and enthusiastic reply. “Let’s do a few with you, me, and Mouse while we’ve got her.” Because he had the sneaking suspicion that there were others who wanted her attention too {which was a bummer since she'd have to leave them}. “You’re up for silly pictures, right, Mouse?” In all fairness, he had figuratively twisted her arm but he also had no regrets. It was good to have friends, after all.

“We can take some of us after, Keigh, then we can see if we can find Den and Will.” It also meant that he was going to let the girlfriend go for a bit so that she’d be able to get pictures with Olivia. Everyone was going to win today. “Here we are.” With those words, Charlie ushered both girls in. Ladies before gents!
