If you suffer from FOMO or just want to be in the involved with everything, then the middle passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

"You have a little brother that's cool to. I'm an only child." Blake realized he was babbling, he hadn't shared his 'life' story with anyone really. But then again he hadn't really had many friends other than Bernadette and she already knew all of these things. "Aren't siblings usually put in the same house?" Blake wondered how strange it would be to 'compete' against you sibling in a sense with them being in a different house.
Coby leaned back in his seat and listened, again wondering if he should ask. It seemed like he had to this time, otherwise he'd appear rude. "What do you mean, your fault?" he asked, although the meaning was pretty clear from Blake's sentence. Still, it's always better to ask because guessing could lead to embarrassment down the line and Coby definitely had enough embarrassing moments as it was.
"We're five siblings," Coby added with a nod. Only Matty was his biological brother but they were definitely two of five. His family was a little odd, but he didn't really tell people about it unless they went out of their way to ask. It takes a while to get through all the details. "Oh, I don't think so? Most of my family are Ravenclaws but my older sister was in Slytherin. And, Teddy, my dormmate, Teddy James? His twin sister Phoebe is in Gryffindor," Coby's ears reddened slightly at the mention of Phoebe, and the blush slowly spread all over his face.
With a cough, he reached into his bag for his water bottle. It's suddenly warm in here.

Looking down when he heard a small voice Torin saw a young girl, now looking at Kalista. He was a second too late in stopping the firstie when she fed his kneazle a treat.
"No!" He yelled. Doesn't she know that kneazles aren't always suitable for children to be with? Torin pulled the cage back and found Kalista to be happily eating her treat. Strange.
"I'm sorry if I frightened you, but Kalista doesn't take too well to the younger kids. I'm surprised you didn't get scratched. The only reason I've been allowed to bring her with me this year is because she's my family kneazle and I'll be turning 15 before I come home." Torin tried to explain and really was sorry. It wasn't right to be yelling at a firstie like that. Maybe he should buy her a treat to make up for it.
“Huh?” Ingrid couldn’t help but step back, a little shocked at the boys reaction. Frowning, her eyes went to the cage to check that the Kneazle was okay before they went back to the older boy. Her eyes met his for a moment as he began to talk and she listened intently to what he had to say, mostly due to the cat and then simply just nodded at him.
“I know. I’ve looked after a load of kneazles but they’re smart creatures. They can usually sense if someone is up to something” , the frown on her face now morphing into a small smile because it obviously didn’t think she was distrustful or suspicious. “It’s okay. I should have asked first anyway. I’m sorry” . Sometimes, the sight of new creatures just called to her and it was too much not to say no! “Next time I’ll try to remember to ask” although that was wishful thinking.
With a small sigh, Ingrid turned to the nearest compartment to them both and popped her head in ready to ask to her brother but then sighed again as there was no one inside. “There’s no one in here if you’re looking for an empty compartment if that’s what you’re looking for?”. She’d have rather found her brother there but at least she’d been helpful to the boy and his Kneazle.
Taking over the world? Minjae snorted at Noah's words. How was he going to take over? With sunshine, daisies and buttermellow? Noah was probably one of the most harmless people he had ever met. Except for when they went to play lasertag over the summer. Merlin's Beard he had never seen that side of him and he was still annoyed that he had lost. Friends or not, Minjae was competitive and played to win.
Leaning against a closed compartment door to balance himself as the train swayed, Minjae crossed his arms over each other. Accomplice? "I prefer business partner" he said. Speaking of business, he had to tell Noah that he had refused to take over his father's million dollar company but that could wait for later because it seemed that the poor first year was struggling between leaving or staying.
"Oh? You're a Muggleborn? I am as well!" he said while reaching a hand to pet the cat. He was not going to refuse such offer. Personally, Minjae was not really in the mood to tell how his summer was so he simply shrugged his shoulders "It was fine" he said.
Oh no. Wrong question. "Uh well, I went to the beach this summer. And did some, y'know, surfing. In Australia. And it was fun. Well, I should probably gooo, and uh see you later." She could sense the sort-of tension and decided that now was the time to make her exit. She saw the food trolley. Yes. Perfect. "You know what... I''m going to go to the food trolley."
Boy did people talk about almost anything. At Ana alarmingly loud level too no less. Charlie had come from the front cars moving further back shaking her head and her bouncy curls. Sighing she mumbled “first years.... never learn” because seemed like they never did learn. Who talked about bringing a dragon to school? She hoped to Merlin by dragon the silly girl had named her cat dragon. Shaking her head she moved further back the train fiddling with her muggle clothes. She totally detested those ugly uniforms and tried to put off wearing them until she absolutely had to.
Tucking a stray curl her brown eyes followed the windows of the carts she was looking in. There were a ton of you get faces she didn’t know which had to mean they were first years, right? Then she saw a few older boys talking. She glanced at them longer than she should have but ... boys. Man not even a teenager yet and she was in her boys phase, her mom was not going to like that when. She came home.
Finally spotting an empty compartment she slid the door open and bounced in. Ah no more y’all of dragons, younger students being full of questions. She was here in her small piece of paradise. But the more she thought about where the train was headed the more she dreaded wearing the uniform. “I wonder how many points I’d lose for not showing up in my uniform to the feast?” Because to her it felt more unfair to have to hide her fashion knowledge than showing up in that dreaded drab robe.
Boarding the train gave Kennedi a bit of a high in excitement. She already missed her dad and godmom-Eve and Jordana, BUT adventure awaited her. Her mental health was much better than last time and she felt ready to tackle anything. Both metaphorically and in the literal sense. Her dad trained her in more advanced self defense this summer, and Jordana taught her how to scratch someone’s eyes out. So, she was ready for anything, really.
Walking away from whatever commotion was going on in the train, the brunette walked behind a girl who seemed about her age. She admired the bouncy curls and hoped there was a spell that could help her transform hers like that one day. Kennedi enjoys trying out different styles.
Glancing into other compartments she debated which one to join. They all mostly had more than two people, and that was a crowd to Kennedi. Turning on her heels, she approached the compartment the girl with the cute hair entered and carefully slid the door open, catching the question her new compartment mate asked.
“About twenty,” Kennedi guessed. “Unless you hide your outfit under your robes.”
Valentina enthusiastically extended her hand, like her dad had always taught her to. It was polite, he’d said. “I’m Valentina but you may call me Val or Tina but whatever else you prefer.” Her smile faded a little, suddenly feeling sad all over again. The eleven year old nodded slowly, rubbing her hands together just.. for something to do. “Yeah. I miss my parents, that’s all.” Would Sloane think that’s pathetic?
Sloane scooted forward in her seat to shake Valentina's extended hand, "Very nice to meet you, Valentina... er, Val", and returned her smile. Settling back into her seat, Sloane nodded along with Valentina's explanation, "I get it. This is my first time being away from my family for more than a week, and I miss them already too." Sloane sighed. Her parents would have each other. Her siblings would have each other. And Sloane would be alone. Alone in her magical abilities and alone at school. But as she tried to keep reminding herself, she shared her pep talk with Val, "But, we have a special opportunity to learn amazing things, to become amazing, really. That makes us pretty darn lucky, I think. And while it won't be easy to be in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people and away from the security of family, I'm hopeful that it'll all be worth it." Sloane swallowed hard. Always accused of speaking too much (and often out of turn), she chewed her lower lip thinking she should have just kept her mouth shut. Maybe the girl didn't need a pep talk. Maybe she just needed someone to acknowledge her feelings. "Anyway, I'm sorry you're upset." Sloane looked down and picked at a loose stitch on the front flap of her shoulder bag to avoid eye contact.

Charlie glanced up at the sound of someone telling her she’d probably lose 20 house points. She was really contemplating it. Was twenty points actually worth it? “Is twenty points worth it though? But hiding my outfit defeats the purpose of wearing it.” She had to fight back the eye roll and sigh at the suggestion of wearing the robe over her stunning outfit.
Pulling a curl and letting it go she glanced at the girl who came into her compartment. She looked her age, but she didn’t recall ever meeting her at Hogwarts. “You’re Kennedi right?” she really hoped she was right because she hated calling people the wrong name.

Was losing twenty points worth it? Losing any amount of points wasn’t worth it to Kennedi. Call her an overachiever, she wasn’t one to freely lose anything. She took a seat across Charlie and shrugged a shoulder. “Depends if you want to make a statement,” she said. Then added, “But honestly, no. Your housemates will probably not appreciate it.” That depended a lot on what house Charlie belongs to. Kennedi would assume Slytherins wouldn’t be too happy over any point loss. But... Charlie’s outfit WAS cute so that’s a tough one.
Distracted by the curl, Kennedi shifted her eyes back on Charlie’s face when she heard her name. Someone who remembers her name! “Yeah. I’m a third year Slytherin.” She shot her a smile. “You?”

She honestly hasn’t ever lost any points but now she could probably justify losing some points. It was an absolute shame that the school didn’t let them have one day a week where’s they could express themselves. It’s not like the professors forgot that y were in a specific house. They had to know. “Making statements fashionably are the best kind of statements.” Charlie realized that probably sounded shallow but oh well.
Sighing she nodded her head. “I think this early on no one wants to lose points.” Watching the other girls face she noticed that her face light up when she remembered her name. She liked making people feel good. “I’m Charlie, third year Gryffindor.” she was so used to spewing those facts it came as second nature these days.

Kennedi gave a nod in agreement. Just because she didn’t possess the talent to put cute and creative outfits together didn’t mean she couldn’t spot one when she saw one. “It’s an art. Cute outfits make you memorable,” Kennedi said. “Maybe you can show your outfits out on the grounds.” After all, they only had to wear school robes in class and in the Great Hall.
Yep. Too early to lose anything. “Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of chances to display your outfits.” She could even make it a fashion show kind of thing. Kennedi was too shy to share that thought, but it was a way.
Charlie. Cute name. “Nice to meet you, Charlie.” Pause. “I’m a returning student, actually,” the brunette confessed. “I was here most of my first year. Now I’m back.” And she was out of the loop on everything.
Sorry for the late reply >_< but weee the feast is starting!!

"No, no it's okay. She seems to like you." He said as he reached his hand in to scratch behind Kalista's ear. Torin was worried he scared the young girl, but she seems fine enough. "You've looked after lots of kneazles? Do you like creatures then?"
Torin was grateful for small mercies when she pointed out the empty compartment. "Thank you. Would you like to join? I was going to let Kalista out of her cage once I got behind closed doors."
