| | | Professor Phoenix opened the door to the greenhouse with a big rusty key. She entered and started bustling about immediately, levitating pots covered with black veils into the classroom and depositing them on the tables.
"Owwww…" she mumbled, quickly putting down the last pot on her desk and jumping on one foot, having collided with the solid wooden table.
Standing on her left foot as if she wanted to start a game of hopscotch, Professor Phoenix squinted, counting the plants rapidly, "Twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five… should be enough."
She put her right foot down again carefully, wincing a little at the pain before muttering a quick charm so it would be better. Then she glanced at her watch and went over to the door, peeking out to see most students waiting outside, unsure.
"I forgot to tell you," she called, "today we will be working in greenhouse three. I hope you have your dragon hide gloves, by the way. We will be needing them. Please be cautious in here, the plants here are a lot more dangerous than in greenhouse one, where we have been working until now," she explained. |

Professor, if it is such a strong poison, isn't it dangerous even to use as a sleeping draught?

*Raises hand* Professor, where did the word "dremuni" come from? I can't find it in any of my reference books. Is it just coincidence that it sounds sort of like "dreamy"?

| "There is more than one sleeping draught, Nadia," Professor Phoenix exclaimed. "I am not putting Professor Airlia's Potions class into question here. Depending on the amount put into the sleeping draught, it can be poisonous or not, that's why it is entrusted only to experts. anhaire - good observation. The name of the Dremuni plant does come from 'dreams'. Usually, when you inhale it accidentally, you will feel light-headed for a while, which explains the name.
"I guess most of you have already figured what we will be doing today," Professor Phoenix said with a half-hidden grin (due to the darkness). "We will be collecting the extremely dangerous, toxic, poisonous, lethal, deadly dust.
"No need to worry though," she said, taking off her gloves to pull her long blond hair into a ponytail. "Girls – make sure your hair is tied back properly. Also, all students, pay attention to your robes, don't get too much dust on them. Your dragon hide gloves are an absolute must."
"Now please come forth and collect several of these vials," Professor Phoenix said, levitating a large crate with many small glass vials onto her desk. "You will need about five each, I think. We will use a simple charm to collect the dust."

Walks up to Professor Phoenix, smiles nervously, and then reaches into the large crate. Still wearing his dragon-hide gloves he clumsily grabs five of the glass vilals. He walks slowly back to his spot to wait for the go ahead from Professor Phenix.

After tying back her waist-length, curly red hair, she goes up to get her vials, and sits down, eager to begin.

"Neither was I" *Nadia says blinking.
Nadia takes her wand, still with her dragonhide gloves, and taps the very top of her head, and chants Felintas spell on her; next her extremely-long hair turns to boys lenght.
There.
Then she uses Accio to reach for three vials and waits for further instructions.

| Aiden neatly tucks his robe sleeves into his gloves while walking to the front of the class to get his 5 vials. Then returns to where he was standing ready for further instructions to follow.

| Professor Phoenix took a few vials out for herself. Her Dremuni plant was a lot bigger than the ones of the students and seemed to have been outside in a snowstorm, it was covered so thickly in dust.
"Please watch," she said.
She took the cork off one of the empty vials and held it in her left hand, her wand in her right hand. The Lumos charm was still lit and made the dragon hide gloves reflect the light a little.
"You can use the charm at the same time as Lumos," she explained. "Accio!"
Without actually touching the plant, Professor Phoenix made small movements with her wand along one single branch. It seemed as if she was gently brushing the dust off the twigs; the white powder hovered above the twig uncertainly until she pointed her wand at the opening of the vial, and they flew in. Professor Phoenix put the cork back onto the vial and placed it into the crate.
"You see, it is no big deal. In case you are worrying about not having learnt the Summoning Charm, I can assure you it doesn't matter. At this small distance, you will all manage it. Make sure your vial is close to the branch you are working on; the powder on one branch should fill about one vial. Use small brush-like movements; the dust will then hover in the air until you direct your wand at the opening. Be very careful, you know how dangerous it could be to touch or inhale it. You may start."

| Aiden takes the first vial in his right hand and, after opening the top, holds it up to the highest branch. Looking at Nadia next to him, he says
I figure if we start from the top down there will be less chance of dust cascading down on us as we work. With my luck I would have started at teh bottom and accidentally poked the trunk and spilled dust from the top all over myself.
Accio! He say's slightly hestitantly, as he begins sweeping the dust up, then points it over to his vial, which overfills slightly and spills some dust onto the table below
Aigu, make sure you do not rest your arm in that, Nadia. Sorry. I've got an idea though... Aiden picks up his next vial then uses the summoning charm on the dust that spilled to put it in the next vial
See, not so bad.

Cherry picks up one of her glass vials, her hands shaking slightly. She looks around at the other students, who seemed to have no trouble doing what the professor had asked. She uncorked her vial and held it near the plant.
"Accio," she mutters.
The dust hovered softly off the plant. She directs it onto the vial and puts the cork in. Cherry sighed with relief but suddenly noticed the other four vials and frowned.

*picks up one of the five glass vials*
"Accio," she says.
Th dust off of the plant came of of the Dremuni plant. She has it go into the vial and puts the cork on it.
"One down, four to go," she says to herself.

"I didn't thought about that, yes, it's a good idea, but then again I fear I might touch another branch with my sleeve  ... *LOL* I might do that as well, you know me, at Potions... " Quote: Aigu, make sure you do not rest your arm in that, Nadia. Sorry. I've got an idea though... *LOL* "Thanks for the warning, I'll try to " Nadia says, feeling a little awkward now with her hair being so short, needing reminding that she has it that way now. "You better be careful with that, better don't disturb the powder so much so we don't inhale it." Nadia took the cork off the first three vials, looking quite uncomfortable herself. Why, why so dangerous plants... *sighs* I don't know what am I complaining about - honestly! The Whomping Willow... what was I thinking? Quote: Aiden picks up his next vial then uses the summoning charm on the dust that spilled to put it in the next vial
See, not so bad.
-K- Nods. "Good idea." Big sigh. "Well, let's try it! Luckily it's the Summoning Cham and I've masterizise it fairly enough already. In my first year, I mean, I'm a second year... Well now," Takes big breath. " Accio!"
Nadia tried both ways; from the end down the first branch until finding the trunk and viceversa, not feeling quite sure either way, but managing sucessfully the first two attempts. Both times making small brush-like movements and finally directing her wand at the opening of the vials, the dust hovered to finally find its way .
*sighs* "Well, that wasn't so bad..." She Accio-es 2 more vials from the professor's desk and starts with the tord one rightaway. "Accio!" she chanted, wand upwards. This time the movement wasn't so neat and she filled the vial a little too much (each time more full, the vials), spilling some of the dust in the desk as well. "How idiotic of me, once I have managed - figures!"

Thinking about Trea's advice, she nervously holds a vial up next to the top branch on the left. "Accio," she whispers, and the dust comes off and hovers a bit in the air. She wiggles her wand toward the vial, and the powder goes in. "There, that wasn't so bad," she thought, corking her first vial, and picked up her second.

*follows Aiden's example and Accio-es the dust on the desk into a new vial - realizes to take the cork off of a the vial just in time while the dust hovered in mid air*
Huff, that wasn't pretty...
*starts with a new branch deciding on how to approach*
Mmh, I'm liking your way more, Aiden - Salud! * :sorcerer: uses Accio in the dust of a new branch and inside the same vial.*

"Oh, no problem," Professor Phoenix said, coming over. "You're so close to the object you want to summon, you don't need any wandmovement. Try and think of the way the dust should hover in the air though, and say Accio. It's more complicated when you can't see the objects, but you'll manage fine here, even if you haven't done it before."

Professor, where do you want these when we've finished with all five? Then turning to Nadia We should ask about other Dark bred plants in DADA, as a follow up to our discussion on Dark creatures, don't you think?

Gets one more vial to finish cleaning her last branch. After filling it carefully, she corks it, and looks at her clean plant with a pleased expression.

Sure, professor, I'll work on another. Nadia can help too, once she's finished her last vial. Aidean takes the extra Dremuni and another 6 vials, using teh first to make sure the last of the Dremuni Dust is collected from his first plant before setting it back on the shelf.
Well, this in only a quarter full, so I guess I'll stopper it while I prepare my new plant, Herbert. <grin> Aiden stoppers the quarter full vial and slowly lifts the veil from his new plant. carefully folding it before setting it aside to begin more collecting. He re-opens the partially full vial and selects a small twig to full it up with
Professor, do you know much of the history of who, why and when the Dremuni was bred by Dark wizards and how has it flourished since it's creation?

-K- "Well that's just the thing," Professor Phoenix said, corking up a bottle and taking a new one for herself, "nobody knows any of its history. One single plant was found by a wizard named Jeff Minceton in the fifties; it was near his garden. It is assumed that somebody wanted to kill his family after the downfall of Grindelwald. However, the plant was discovered and since then, it has been bred."

Alex takes her 5 vials and carefully holds one accio
The dust hovers for a few moments and she waves her wand directing the dust into her vial. The dust goes in and she puts the cork on her vial and starts on another.
