If Professor Marchand is with another visitor or otherwise occupied when you come, you're welcome to take a seat and wait for him outside his office. You'll find a couple of black leather sofas and a table scattered with magazines: everything from Witch Weekly to Quidditch International, plus a few muggle magazines too.
While you're waiting, help yourself to the coffee bar situated on a long table opposite the sofas. There are cups, stirrers, sugar, cookie straws, and various flavored creamers and syrups to choose from. Don't like coffee? Professor Marchand also keeps a supply of tea and hot cocoa on hand, just in case.
So take a seat, and Professor Marchand will be with you momentarily. Just remember to KNOCK before entering his office!
OOC: Please post here first and wait to be invited into Professor Marchand's office. I'll answer all replies as soon as I can
Shera wanted to get her and Daehyun's plan into action at once. Which is why she had asked a couple of older students where exactly she could find the charms professor's office. They'd also advised her that the professor was French, which Shera had filed away to see if she could use that to her advantage.
After all she did spend a lot of time in France as well.
That was something she'd need to worry about at a later point in time though. So, as one did she quickly skipped up to the professor's door and knocked as loudly as she could to make sure she did indeed grab their attention. Then she quickly retreated to the sofa and picked up the copy of Quidditch International to read through it while she waited for a response.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Daisy had noticed at the start of term feast that Professor Marchand didn't seem like his usual bright self so she had decided to pay him a visit. She had also made a gift for him which she had carefully wrapped in a small box. Daisy sat down on the sofa and waited to be allowed in Marchand's office.

Seventh year, here she was. It was going to be a year for sure- though Vi hadn't decided whether or not it would be good or bad. That all depended on how NEWTs went and university acceptances and the whole shebang. Luckily sixth year had been a REALLY nice break from the hectic happenings of fifth year.
With her book bag lazily slung over one shoulder, she took a trip down the stairs and across the castle to her Head of House's office. Part of her reason was to see how his summer was and to thank him for her help and advice with non-verbal and wandless magic. In her book bag, she had picked up a special gift for Professor Marchand and his wife from spending her summer in Paris. It was a small little gift but one that she hoped would remind him of Beauxbatons. It was a bottle, containing the special recipe to La Maison Angelina's famous hot cocoa.
After knocking on the door, Vi made herself a cafe mocha and then took a seat in the waiting area.

On the other side of the door, Gaston was lost in thought. Many order forms from shops in Diagon Alley and London cluttered his desk. He picked up a quill and started to fill out a form when- KNOCK! He nearly jumped out of his skin at the unexpectedly loud knock... or maybe it just seemed louder because he, for once, wasn't blasting loud music from his enchanted ipod.
He set down his quill and went to answer the door. He peered outside and smiled upon seeing the little first year in his waiting area. It took him a minute to recall her name, though. "Hello, Shera," he greeted her. "How do you like Hogwarts so far?" Merlin, where were his manners?! "Please come in."
OOC: Go ahead and post in the office when you're ready.

Some time late, Gaston was still absorbed in the many order forms on his desk. He had just finished addressing an envelope when he heard a knock. He exchanged a surprised look with the little black and white cat on the condo behind him. Who could that be?
He opened the door and beamed at the girl sitting in his waiting area. "Hello, Daisy," he said, opening the door a bit wider. "Come in, come in. How was your summer?"

Gaston had just finished filling out the last of the order forms he had and was on his way to the owlery to mail them. Before he could even reach the door, someone was knocking at it. That was unexpected... Merlin, he must be more popular than he thought!
He opened the door to find Olivia Holden sitting in his waiting area with a coffee. "Hello, Olivia," he greeted with a warm, friendly smile. "Do come in." He held the door open wide for her. "Ready for some more spells to practice?" Or at least he guessed that was the reason for her visit anyway.

In all honesty, Skylar probably should have been waiting outside of Professor Vance's door, rather than the door of her Charms Professor. And yet, as she rehearsed over and over again, trying to remind herself that her loss against Gryffindor wasn't really a loss, the Slytherin Captain found herself here. There was something about Gaston Marchand, perhaps, that made him easy to talk to. And yet, as she stood outside his office, hesitating before knocking, the sixth year felt extremely anxious.
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Besides, her questions were super subjective, so chances are, he probably couldn't help her. Could he? Just as she was about to turn around and head toward her common room. Or maybe the pitch to smack a few bludgers around for frustration relief, Skylar instead, found herself knocking. Followed by going to pour herself some tea, because coffee would make her way more anxious and she didn't need that.

Daehyun was excited. The whole time in class he'd wanted to keep the purple mouse he'd practiced spells on, or at least borrow it for a while, so he was more than delighted when his Head of House had suggested they keep them, and keep them charmed and alive if they so desired. But that only made him want to learn how to charm the toy mouse to life himself, so there he was.
Clutching the lifeless toy in his hand, he lifted the free one to knock lightly on the door to professor Marchand's office.

Night had heard the Gryffindor first year talking about wanting to learn the animation charm himself at the end of the lesson, and she figured that was why he was here now. She thought that was certainly ambitious of him; it hadn't looked like a basic charm. At the same time, though, it did seem useful. Maybe she would ask if the other first year would mind if she'd come in and learn the charm too.
"Hey," she said. "I heard you talking about wanting to learn the animation charm yourself after class, is that why you're waiting? I came to see what Professor Marchand could do to animate the dogs on my hat from Muggle Studies. I'd love to learn the charm too, actually, maybe we could learn it together?"
Night paused, unsure if she'd ever bothered to learn his name.
"Umm...I'm Night, by the way, Night Dixon. I know I've seen you around, but I don't think I caught your name."

Daehyun had been waiting idly by the door to professor Marchand's office, when he heard a voice nearby, so he turned with a smile to see a fellow first year. "Hi!" Oh? She wanted to learn the same charm? "Mmmhm!" he hummed and nodded enthusiastically. "I'd like that." Practicing with someone else would actually be better, and both could benefit from it. They could correct each other's wand movements or pronunciations of the incantation, so yep!
"I'm Daniel," he said, preferring people to call him that. Except Shera, she was the exception. She was always the exception, since even he had noticed lately that she had him wrapped around her pinkie finger, but it didn't bother him. And the other exception was Bartholomew, because the gentle squid understood his strong dislike for nicknames or wrong variations of his name. "It's nice to meet you." Well, they weren't quite meeting for the first time, because he'd seen Night - how cool was that name? - in other classes, but now he finally had a name to associate with the face.
"I'm sure professor Marchand wouldn't mind letting us use an empty classroom nearby to practice." Or would he? "I used the same pattern on my beanie, so I might just try out your idea, as well." Even though it turned out as an uneven disaster, it would be beyond adorable if the puppies moved. Then it would be an adorable disaster.
Night nodded enthusiastically at everything Daniel (so that was his name) had said. She loved that they had used the same pattern. "The empty classroom is a really good idea," she agreed. "Come on, let's go on in."

Gaston was enjoying a rare moment of rest in his office. With his classes, Head of House responsibilities, and the approaching holiday season (not to mention, his preparations for a long-anticipated arrival, he was overdue for a nap. His eyes suddenly snapped open at the sound of a knock at the door, and Phantom, who'd been curled up in his lap jumped down and followed him to the door.
He smiled as he saw Skylar in the waiting area. "Hello, Skylar. What can I do for you today?" he said. His eyes fell to her cup of tea. That reminded him... He could really use some coffee right about now! "Please have a seat in the office, and I'll be right with you." He made his way to the coffee bar and poured himself a cup, Phantom following alongside him with a meow.

Gaston sat at his desk, marking grades for his recent lesson until a knock interrupted him. That was probably Daniel. He set his quill down and went to answer the door, and sure enough, he found the young Lion in the seating area. "Hello, Daniel," he greeted, smiling warmly.
His eyes widened slightly when he saw Night there too. He'd been expecting them both, just not both at the same time! "Hello, Night," he said, giving her a friendly smile too. So... were they planning on taking turns or what? "Are you two ready to learn the animation charm?" he asked. "Both of you can go on in and have a seat, if you don't mind working together." He held the door open a bit wider for them.
