| | | Flying Lesson 1: Creaothceann Banner credit: Suziella Out on the grounds, down by the pitch is where the first flying lesson of term 46 is held. In the middle of the pitch is a row of school brooms neatly placed on the grass for the firsties and for the students in need of borrowing one. There is also a large trunk containing what looks like hula hoops and next to it are black cauldrons placed on top of each other in a tall tower. It looks slightly unstable, swaying slightly in the wind but never toppling over.
You'll find the professor impatiently waiting for the students as he slowly hovers around the pitch on his broom. Mounted correctly? No. Lying on his back, legs crossed and eyes to the sky as he's balancing on the broom? Absolutely.
The large gate to the pitch is wide open, allowing the students to arrive. The September afternoon weather brings a gentle breeze and the sun is still in the sky, warming the grass.
Perfect day for flying. Is it not?

Diagon Alley Proprietor:
Stella Marie Reed Daily Prophet News Reporter | a bit of madness is key | miss chanandler bong | those cunning folks use any means Haraldur watched the students try their best at catching the balls shooting through the air.
Until his stomach growled and he glanced at the time. He brought the horn to his lips and it gave off a loud sound, calling class was over. "That's all we have time for today, everyone!" He waved with one hand, gesturing for the kids to come back down to solid ground. "Very good everyone, very good..." He mused as they touched back down. "Take off your cauldrons, there you go..." If his eyes hadn't deceived him (which they did most of the time...) the house that had caught the most of the correct color was Gryffindor. "You all did splendid!" He was actually pleasantly surprised. Not that he didn't think Hogwartians could fly... But they had cancelled quidditch after all. The kiddos had definitely showed him they were all capable flyers. "Since you all contributed so nicely with suggestions on how to improve the game and that you were all so open-minded to play what is known as the most dangerous game in flying history," Heh, oops. "I'll award 10 points to each house." Let's start getting dem points positive.
The instructor walked around, glancing down into the cauldrons, doing a quick estimate. "The House that has gotten the most points is Gryffindor! Well done, lions! I think that's worth 10 extra points to the Gryffindor house, don't you?" He smiled and took his stand (yes stand he actually wasn't levitating) in front of the small group. "If my stomach isn't mistaken, dinner should be served soon in the Great Hall." He hoped there were potatoes. "Everyone that borrowed a broom, please leave it here. Class dismissed everyone!"
Haraldur clasped his hands over his chest again, beaming with pride. Only to remember he had to clean up the hula hoops. The rubber balls. The cauldrons. Put the brooms back in the broomshed.
He really hoped the students didn't eat all the potatoes before he got to the great hall. OOC: Class is over! Thank you so much for attending and bearing with me on my first lesson, I really appreciate it! We hope you had fun, we certainly did! *snugs*
I will keep this thread open for approximately 24 hours if you want to catch up or post your character leaving. Haraldur and I will be here until the last student has waddled back to the castle. Again, thank you to all of you! Hope to see you all in the next lesson. <3

Hogwarts RPG Name: Armand Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Damien Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year | Slytherin by heart Kyle landed and dismounted the broom. "Thank you for working with me," he said to the broom and went to put it away. Hopefully the next broom he had would work with him as well. He didn't get that far off the ground this time around, but maybe he would venture higher next time and join in whatever game might be next. Once the broom was settled in, he made his way back to the castle for dinner.
