| | Paul's Pods After three years at Hogwarts, Paul noticed that many of the students were stressed imagine that?. And so, Paul decided to provide a structure near the Greenhouses where students could sleep OR work privately on their own things in a confined, cool place.
The pods are charmed so that each one will only allow ONE person inside teenagers, pls and once someone is IN a pod, no one else could open the door until that person leaves. So no tricks can be played in here, kids.
Inside each pod are some pillows, blankets, and a little wicker bed-desks/trays. So enjoy your time in these, either sleeping, resting, doing homework in a CHILLAXED way, or just hanging out alone. The railing outside the pods does allow for students to hang out as well, in case being alone is just too much for anyone!
No, you are not allowed to spend the night in these! For daytime sleepy times only! Do NOT take advantage of Paul's kindness and use these pods in any ways he would not approve or he will TAKE THEM AWAY. Ahem.
Take note, the pods are heavily graffiti'd from last term. Graffiti is welcome. |

Emerging from one of the pods, Jace adjusted his bag on his shoulder and settled himself outside of the resting area to get a good dose of sunlight. Scotland is too cold for the half-Japanese so late morning sunshine was much appreciated.
Appreciating the silence and greenery that surrounded him, Jace unceremoniously fell on his back and stared at the bright sky above him. His mind wandered back to Japan, wondering how his grandparents are doing. He broke out from his thoughts when he heard his tummy grumble a little. Subconsciously, he reached out a piece of onigiri from his bag, unwrapped it and began to eat.
Ah yes, now this is the life!

Ah yes, now this is the life! Harriet hadn't been able to take advantage of the pods yet. She'd not been at Hogwarts much, having needed to spend a few days at the hospital. But she wanted to take advantage of the pods now. She'd heard they were pretty cool, and she wanted to have a little nap. Sometimes going all the way back to the common room was a lot of effort. Even though the hufflepuff common room wasn't too far away. Hattie also wanted to spend some time out in the grounds.
she had missed the grounds of the school whilst they'd been at home. So she wanted to enjoy them now. It was also really sunny, so that helped a lot. She smiled as she spotted someone else in the resting area by the pods. "The weather's nice isn't it..." She second year murmured with a smile.

Stuffing the rest of his snack in his mouth, Jace reached out for another one when someone caught him resting. Quickly, the thirteen year old half-Japanese sat up from the ground and looked at the new comer. Well, at least she wasn’t a professor. He’d die of embarrassment if an adult caught him lounging about and eating at the same time. Well, it won’t be tolerated in Mahoutokoro, that’s for sure.
Swallowing, Jace nodded as he glanced up at the sky once more as he crossed his legs on the grass. “It is, yes.” He said, grinning shyly at the Hufflepuff. “Hi.” He added feeling more awkward than ever. It was always a struggle to talk to girls and to people outside of Ravenclaw. “Erm...would you...like some?” Jace said, offering an onigiri to her. He didn’t bring any other ‘familiar’ snack with him, but at least he did offer her something...right?

The pods needed some love. Some lovin' scrubbin'. Paul was not in the mood to do this magically, either, no! He wanted to use a SPONGE and some sudsy soap, and since the weather was getting nicer, he didn't mind rolling up his sleeves and doing the washing thing.
Now, he did use his wand for water, because really who had TIME for buckets, and did Hogwarts even have a HOSE?
He splashed the structure with water from his wand, getting it all wet before taking a sponge and beginning to rub it around. He had seen muggles clean cars like this. He wanted to try it! It looked like fun! Maybe he'd even try some WAX HEHE!
This was by NO means a car, but that was okay. This wad fun!

This was by NO means a car, but that was okay. This wad fun! So like... Dora was BORED. Really bored.
But definitely not bored enough to engage in manual labor like Professor Myers sure seemed to be. Instead, the Gryffindor girl simply stopped and started to stare at the man. He was an odd duck, as it were. And really, she was STILL unsure if she even trusted the man.
Hmph.
She had never gone into one of the pods. Mostly because it seemed weird to go into one. Other people had laid up in them, ya know. Teenagers in varying degrees of cleanliness, surely. This girl didn't fancy laying in other people's filth you see!
Folding herself down on the ground she turned her face up and WATCHED the man... it didn't take much to entertain him, did it? " Professor... why are you doing that?" she asked suddenly and without even thinking.

Were those the words? Paul wasn't sure. Either way, he was humming the muggle tune of a show he'd never seen because he knew manual labor was usually accompanied by this song, right? Paul Myers was under the complete impression that muggles sang this song all the time, any time they did manual labor.
Ahem.
The man also thought Zelda was a common muggle name.
Hearing a voice, he looked up and smiled at Miss Umbridge. "I'm CLEANING it! The outside for now!" He washed the sheets and pillows on the inside every so often...for health's sake.

Um... well... DUH.
Dora barely kept the eye roll to herself. BARELY. "Well I know what you're doing. I'm asking why you're doing it. We're in Scotland... it always rains here. " So that kind of negated the washing, right? At least Dora thought so, but she got the sense that this professor of hers didn't always think logically.
It was kind of endearing, really.
Almost.
She was still not trusting or liking him just yet. If there was one thing the Gryffindor was GREAT AT, it was holding grudges.

Paul smiled a bit at her query. "Just because it rains doesn't mean we shouldn't clean things! It we lived our lives always fearing the storm, I'm afraid we'd never get anything done, now would we?" His philosophical take on it all, which, of course, Dora hadn't asked for. Paul didn't care. He was always spewing things like this. Spreading the WIZdom, obviously. "Would you like to help me? I'll give you poooooints," he grinned. "Or cookies. Or perhaps, maybe, both." Some students preferred one over the other.
He squeeeeeezed the sudsy sponge out on the structure, then dabbed his finger into the soap. He would draw a picture! BUBBLES WERE FUN, WERE THEY NOT?

" No one is afraid of the rain... just seems a waste when you could just cast an Impervius charm on it and then they wouldn't get wet or dirty whether it rains or not." Yep. That was her way of looking at things. And otherwise... she would have just used a spell of some sort to clean it all up in a jiff, you see.
Well... that, and the fact that Dora Umbridge loved to be sassy... and prove people wrong.
And now he was trying to bribe her with points? Interesting. The blonde crinkled her nose up at him and shook her head. " No thank you. I don't want to mess my nail polish up and the last time I ate or drank anything you offered I shrunk. Quite against my will, I might add." Yes. She was still salty about that, you know.
And anyway she was a Gryffindor... he would have to offer something other than points to arouse her enthusiasm. Like... a month of no classwork, but still passing marks! Which she was certain he wouldn't offer, so she was a okay sitting there watching him squeeze out bubbles from the sponge. He was an odd little man. He needed to be watched and studied and Dora was more than willing to do so in the present moment.
Mhm.

Mhm. "Well, technically, you could do the same to your nails and help me, right?" he asked quickly, smirking. " It's just not FUN to do everything by magic when you've been raised...to do magic. I don't know. It's an opinion not shared by many!" He was fine if Miss Umbridge thought it odd or didn't want to help.
More soap suds for him!
He turned to her, though, at the mention of the lesson where he has shrunk all the students. "Oh, m'dear..." he sighed gravely and let his hand that was gripping the sponge fall to his side. "I...have made a vow to never do that again...without permission or consent. You don't know how badly I felt afterward...it was a mistake," he said gently. " Mr. Bellaire helped me to see it was wrong...not my finest teaching moment. I have since tried my best to make it up. I assure you, though, I won't be spiking people's food or drinks anymore."
There was still some residual guilt, clearly.

There was still some residual guilt, clearly. " Technically, I suppose I could, but that would mean I would have to help and honestly, I was looking for an excuse not to." She was nothing if not honest, you see. In short: She had no desire to do chores today. " I have to do everything at home without magic, don't I? My father is a firm believer in all of us doing things manually whenever possible." So it was not quite an unusual train of thought. But, she was underage for two more years and could ONLY use magic at school...so she never really understood those that didn't take advantage of the opportunity when it arose.
But this... this was interesting. The blonde cocked her head to one side and watched the man as he CLEARLY fought some guilt or something. She would have felt bad had he not shrunk her. " Your lessons can be... distracting sometimes. I have ADHD, it's not as bad as it was when I was a first or even second year, but it is often hard to concentrate. The... theatrics sometimes take away from the subject matter." And no, she was not being mean, she was opening up to the man. Being honest. " That's why I opt to be tutored when I am home on holidays and such. I love Herbology, but Hogwarts isn't always the best learning environment." At that she turned her gaze to the ground in front of her and began to pluck up a few blades of grass at a time. Her Uncle Sabel had once taught her to stretch the blades between her two thumbs and blow on them to make noise. Maybe she would do that to keep from looking at the old Hufflepuff man right now.

Her Uncle Sabel had once taught her to stretch the blades between her two thumbs and blow on them to make noise. Maybe she would do that to keep from looking at the old Hufflepuff man right now. Paul chuckled. "You don't have to help. I was merely offering." He was quite capable of doing it all on his own. He did quirk at eyebrow at her, though. "Does he now? Interesting. My mother couldn't wait until I could do magic...because the cleaning went a THOUSAND times quicker once I could clean my room with magic. And it also meant I could help with cooking without slowing down her whole...process," not that Paul was any sort of chef, but he did enjoy cooking. Even if he had burnt cookies once and almost set the house ablaze in 2087.
Ahem.
Paul nodded at the criticism. He supposed he certainly could see where she was coming from. " Well, I do apologize. I try to make plants as interesting as possible. I know some people are not...interested. It can be sooooo boring. So I guess that's why my...theatrics, as you put it, are over the top sometimes. I'm glad you're continuing to study the subject matter, though," he smiled slowly. "Because everyone has their own way of learning...I do not pretend to cater to all the types of learning, nor should anyone...we have our ways of relaying information. Some students are more reciprocal to my way than other ways. I'm lucky, though, no one's failed a Herbology course in awhile..." Well. Maybe that was a lie.
He couldn't remember right now, anyways, if that was true...he thought it was true....it was true? He'd have to check >.> "I agree about the learning environment," he said. "But no school has a perfect one." He loved Hogwarts dearly. He would give his life for this school! But crazy things happened all the time! It was a wonder anyone retained any information at all!
