| | Entrance Hall The huge doors leading into the Great Hall remain closed for most of the feast so that the caretaker or house-elves can take your luggage to your dormitory without being a distraction, but you can always slip into the hall for a breath of fresh air ... or to go use the loo. Don't be gone too long, though, because the meal is about to begin. |

To be honest she just sort of wanted to head up to her dorm and attempt to sleep, or maybe head out to the lake and stare up at the stars for awhile, so she could calm down and get her head in the game..
The train ride had taken so much out of her. Her heart felt heavy and her mind was spinning.. So she stood in the hall and took some deep breaths of fresh air, trying to clear her head.
Everything would be okay,yeah?
Yeah.
She just had to keep telling herself that. |

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight As a rule, Daxton did not frequent the school feasts, and had not done so since his first year, barring the start of his second year when he had stopped by the doors to the Great Hall momentarily to spy on what was happening within. Precisely the same, in fact, as what he was doing right now.
Feasts were crowded, noisy, and full of the smells and sight of so many different foods that it made Daxton nauseous. He had absolutely no desire to stay for long, but his curiosity brought him to the doorway of the Great Hall, to push open the door a small way and peek inside; curiosity regarding exactly who would be occupying a certain seat at the staff table.
Not that he even cared at all, really.
A simple glance was enough to tell Daxton that the insufferable ghost that haunted the unspoken section of the castle had taken the seat in question, but the fact that it was a feast and therefore much more confusing and really just a sensory nightmare meant that it took him a moment to really process the fact. A frown crept onto his features as he fully realised the implications of this, and Daxton had to take a steadying breath in that moment, one that he told himself was purely to soothe his own rage regarding the very specific circumstances, and definitely not any other negative emotion.
So focused on that was he, however, that it took much longer than was really necessary for Daxton to realise that something else was... wrong. Very... very wrong.
Daxton did not recognise the majority of the faces at the staff table. His frown deepened, confusion mounted, and he blinked a few times as though to clear his vision, convinced that he was imagining things again, forgetting faces. Because, in this case, even if subconsciously, that would have been the more favourable outcome.
But no, there were others that Daxton did recognise, but most - more than half of the staff table occupants - were utterly unrecognisable, or else not present at all. Daxton's stomach gave an unpleasant jolt, unsettled as he was in the face of so much change and unfamiliarity. Primeaux had finally taken the hint and gone, however, so that was not so bad. But it looked like Daxton would have to get used to a new Head of House, and...
... and...
He stared for a moment, an unpleasant dropping sensation making itself known in the pit of his stomach, not unlike one he had felt before, and not too long ago.
Ichihara was not at the staff table.
She was gone. He knew it. Was convinced of it. She had gone, she had left, she had not even had the nerve to let him know, like Air-... like others had done. The audacity, the absolute nerve.
Daxton felt the rage rise within him, along with another emotion he was less willing to display so openly. Another look at the other unfamiliar faces at the staff table was enough to fully evoke his anger, and he suddenly launched a kick at the door to the Great Hall with as much might as he could muster, the fury practically exploding out of him even as the door flew inwards. With few other outlets, there was nothing else to be done, and so Daxton turned on his heel and stormed away from the Great Hall, the students and staff inside, and their precious feast. He had been almost relieved to return to the castle, after the summer he had had, but this had turned everything on its head.
As he stalked away from the celebrations, Daxton reflected bitterly on how nothing and nobody could be trusted to stay the same, or to stay at all. Not that he had ever truly believed that anyone he grew attached to was likely to stick around; but then, even with his excessive amounts of distrust, here he was, suffering from the after-effects of what he always expected would happen.
Again.

Red faced and muttering loudly to himself the caretaker; Flynn stopped in the entrance hall after delivering all the student luggage to the 4 common rooms except for the unsorted first years that he still had to wait on. Why the students needed so much luggage and pets was beyond his understanding.
Couldn't they all just have a rat and a trunk and be done with it?

Couldn't they all just have a rat and a trunk and be done with it? The newly minted Teenage Lion moved out and past the Feast. He had not intended to stay long anyways. Taking glances up at the Staff dias and not seeing Uncle Julien was a good sight to see. The man was scum. Yet, the fact that even that made him think of his Uncle wrenched his stomach. So he had to just get up and go. He could have gone over to Benton's Badger table and well...badger him, but his Cousin was too busy constantly Oogling his GIRLFRIEND. Gross, yuck, they were too young for that stuff still and it just peeved him to no end that his cousin would betray him like that.
So here he was, in the Entrance Hall. He moved over to where the Luggage was kept and looked at the very tall goofy looking guy beside them. "Did you take up Luggage to Gryffindor?" Torrance asked him. He wanted to find his Owl. He wanted to just start writing to his Father right away. |

Flynn was standing by the luggage area making a list of what he needed to do before the feast was over when he was joined by a dark skinned and scrawny looking youth. A quick sideways glance told him that the boy was one of Sir Nicholas crop which also was confirmed by the boy's question if his red robes hadn't given him away already. Scratching his chin Flynn affirmed "Yes, I did. I just got down from bringing all the luggage up to the lion's den."
Gesturing behind him towards the feast, making his belt of keys jingle Flynn asked the boy. "Shouldn't you be in there attending the feast?"
