It was that time. The end of term feast. And sad as she was to see this year end and head back home, she was excited too. In a few more months she'd be starting 3rd year and would be 14. At least this time she was in her robes. No points lost for her this feast, nope.

And hopefully she wouldn't leave covered in food either. Or feathers.

Just a nice simple feast: that was what she was hoping for. Especially with how delicious the smells coming from the kitchen smelled. By Dumbledore, she was hungry.

Hadley made her way down the length of the table looking for a seat. There weren't many people at the table which gave her an abundance of options. Too many options. Did she want to sit up front? Down at the back? Mid-way? It was a hard decision to make.

Eventually Hadley gave up and sat down where she stood. Midway up between the front and the middle.

Glad that this year was coming to a close and he still had a girlfriend despite a big road bump, Rooney headed into the Great Hall with every intention of stocking his plate up into a mountain and filling his stomach until he burst. His appetite these days was endless and so were his legs. He'd gotten quite gangly recently. All arms and legs. A bit like a bug, actually. He gave a free glance to the Gryffindor table, making sure that his girlfriend and his...well not-his Char and then his Liv were all sitting separate. No thank you to any of that happening. None were present as of yet, but his younger sister was and so he gave Brin a quick wave and turned his attention back to his own table.

Ugh, Haddie.

Could he just ignore her too?

Hey, someone else was here...oh. Hadley's expression soured when she caught sight of who it was. "Rooster." As greetings went, this was mumbled and full of displeasure.

Did he have to sit so close to her? It brought up horrible, dreadful, sickening memories of the horrible love potion fiasco. Without meaning to, Hads slid a bit further from Rooster, then stopped herself. "You know there are spots all the way down there, at the other end of the table, right?" It was a none-too-subtle hint that he should sit waaaay down there, far from her. Since she was here first.

Kitty moved into the Great Hall and followed her fellow ravens to the proper table. A little while later she was going to visit Esme at the Hufflepuff table, but she was checking here first. She sat down right next to Haddie. "Hey Hads," she greeted her friend with a yawn. "How's it going?" She nodded politely to Rooney. "Hey Rooney."

Was he ever going to get away from that nickname? He didn't crow at the crack of dawn like a rooster. He cawed like the devoted Ravenclaw that he was. "And you know I can stay in the first spot I choose to sit?" Which was what he was going to do until after food, and then he'd go give his girl some attention -- the attention that she deserved, and not the drama he seemed to swing her way unintentionally. If Haddie wasn't enough of a thing to deal with, Roo now had another Ravenclaw girl to deal with.

It was no secret that Rooney didn't understand the girls in his house at all and only had soft spots for those that achieved Head Girl status. So very few.. "Hi Kitty.. Excited for summer?"

Azura moved into the great hall and sighed a bit. She couldn't believe what a difference a year had made.. Last year at this time she was worried about her mother and Jace and now..

Everything was amazing..

If only she could get rid of those nagging... Whatever they were for Brady..

Azura scanned the hall but she didn't see him. Which was probably for the best. What was she going to say? Nothing she could think of would come out right, so perhaps she should just avoid it?

Yes! That worked the best.

Azura slid into a seat by her house mates and gave them all a warm smile. "Hello Hads, Kitty, Rooney. How are you all? " She asked as she pushed some hair behind her ear and turned to look around the hall once again. Wes wasn't here.. Huh.. And neither was Chris..

She turned her attention back to her friends and smiled.

Chloe was late, late, late for the feast. She'd been doing some last minute packing and had gotten carried away, ie. she'd gotten into her makeup. And her highlight was popping, thank you. She had to look good for the last feast of the term. A certain professor could look over at any minute and she had to make a good final impression before they were parted for the whole summer.

Not that she ever spoke to Hirsch. In lessons or in life period. But he could have looked and then where would she be? Highlightless? No thank you.

When she arrived, though, she considered why she even bothered coming down. It was a sparce table. A few faces but it was as if the Ravenclaw table was mostly empty.

No doubt all the seventh years, including her favourite Maddie, were off being emotional somewhere with one another.

They all seemed the types.

As Penelope and her pet rocks walked over to the Ravenclaw table for what was quite possibly the last time, she made no attempt to hide the tears. She was graduating and she was going to be emotional. It was her last feast at Hogwarts ever, her last night in the castle, last everything for her time at Hogwarts. Penelope was graduating and she would be leaving everyone, her professors, her friends, her little eaglets, her classmates, behind. No longer would she be able to sit by the window in the common room looking out across the grounds, look up at the stars and the moon in the observatory, browse the library for books that caught her interest, eat here in the great hall, walk her pet rocks by the lake, practice flute and piano in the music room, study in the common room, use the room of requirement for whatever she needed, relax in the prefects lounge and bath, visit professors when she wanted to, or hang out with her friends at Hogwarts. Soon she wouldn't be head girl anymore, and she would only have the title on a trophy in the trophy room and on her resume, but she would always carry her experiences with her. Next year there would be a new head girl and a new Ravenclaw female prefect. Perhaps Janelle would become a prefect as Jasmine had, and maybe one day Azura, Haddie, Katherine or Rachel would hold the title. Well, maybe not Haddie because of her lack of respect for authority and rule breaking. Not the ideal personality for a prefect, but Penelope loved Haddie all the same. It was what made Haddie Haddie. Although Penelope would not be here to see all of her eaglets grow and spread their wings, she was expecting owls from some of them once in a while. She would miss all of them.

After wiping the tears on her face a bit with a handkerchief and blowing her nose, Penelope looked over at her housemates that were at the table. "Roo, Hads, Kitty, Az, I'll miss all of you. I won't be right here with you next year, but you can owl me and I might come visit on a Hogsmeade weekend. I'll be in Edinburgh, so it's not too far away." Penelope paused for a moment to wipe the tears from her face again and pick up one of the rocks from the floor. "This is Lady Helena's pet rock Aquila, and because she's a ghost someone else has to take care of Aquila for her. Now that I'm graduating, someone else will have to do that. If any of you are interested in caring for our house ghost's pet rock, let me know because this rock needs to stay here at Hogwarts." Breathe in, breathe out. Deep breath. Yes, breathing was good. Penelope walked along the table, stopping to lean over and hug everyone. If anyone wanted to get up and come hug her, that would be appreciated.

The understatement of the century was that Ravenclaw house were coming out in their least numbers of past. He could count his housemates sat at this table on his one hand - he'd seen others around and figured they were typically sitting with their friends elsewhere and for some reason...that was upsetting him now. Probably because he had no one to talk to besides a handful of people he couldn't bear to be around for longer than it took to pour a glass of water. And now, as if things couldn't get worse...Char's friend Chloe was here. And sat down. Sometimes he forgot she was a Ravenclaw, too.

Finally someone to distract him from it, though. Rooney had given Azura a nod in response to her question, but got caught up listening to Penelope and her droning continuous talking. "You sure say a lot of words when you don't need to, Miss Penelope." But he smiled, stood up and gave her cheek a kiss. "Don't be sad, 'kay?" Because she should be happy that she was getting away from the teenage drivvle happening around here. He sure would be if he could get away. Rolllllllll on the train home.

He wasn't going to be offering his services for the rock looking after.

Hadley turned to the voices, thankful for anyone other than Rooster to talk to. Her eyes flicked momentarily to the Gryffindor table, where Ace would be, and Mel. She'd have to head over and say hi in a little bit. But for now, her Ravenclaw friends. "Hey Kitty, Hey Azzy." She smiled at them. "I'm good. How are you both? Any plans for summer?"

And then she spotted her. Penny. Tears streaking down the older girl's cheeks, and Hadley felt her own eyes tear up. This was Penny's last feast. Hogwarts wouldn't be the same without her. Nor would the Ravenclaw Common room, or anything. Without meaning too, Hadley thought back to the first time they met almost 2 years ago, at the start of the her first term. Silent tears stained her cheeks. Before Hadley realized it, she was out of her seat and had her arms wrapped around Penny. Sheepishly she pulled away. "Sorry. You'll write to me right?" She was certainly gonna write to Penny.

"Yeah I guess," said Kitty with a shrug in reply to Rooney's question on if she was excited for the summer. "Are you?" Although he was their prefect, Kitty did not know much about him at all. She turned her attention to Azura next, who had just joined them and who was looking very happy. "Hey Azura. I'm fine, how are you? Looking forward to summer?" It was the question Rooney had just asked her, but it seemed like the most appropriate question for end of term feasts. Hadley was also asking her that question. "We haven't planned anything," she said with another shrug. "Mom will be happy when I'm back. I wrote her about the Hag." Kitty shuddered. This time she didn't think the nightmares would ever go away.

It was then that Penelope arrived. Kitty was startled to see tears coming out of her eyes. At first she was not sure why, but then she spoke and Kitty remembered that this was her last year at Hogwarts. It was heartbreaking to imagine coming to Hogwarts and Penny not being there.

Overcome with emotion, Kitty had just been to hug Penelope but Hadley got there first. When she was done Kitty followed her example and hugged her, tears forming in her own eyes. "I'll definitely write you," she promised. "And I won't ever forget you. I won't ever forget how you came to get me from under the table after the food fight, or how you taught us to turn invisible and all the other things about you. You were the best head girl ever." If she went on any longer she knew she would start crying. She let go of Penny and took a step back, blinking to clear tears. "I would be honored to take care of Aquila if you want me too, unless someone else really wants to. Or I could share the responsibility with someone else if that would be better."

Maddie was okay with Dima doing the dragging just this once and she took the opportunity to glance at the Slytherin table on her way by in search of the boyfriend and best friend. They'd be seeing each other later, yes? Because indeed they were the type to do any kind of emotional chatting, hugging, or general celebrating in private and this venue was anything but that.

Spotting Chloe, the brunette gave her a smile and a nod of acknowledgement. She'd received her gift, yes? And Maddie wouldn't be saying goodbye as she planned on keeping in touch. Rooney also received a smile. He was okay as far as younger students went, too.

"I think I'll miss having someone cook for me most." Maddie settled in a seat between the two boys and drummed her fingers on the table, her expression thoughtful. Maybe someday she'd be rich enough to have a personal chef. That'd be the best.

Ok so how had five years managed to go by so quickly? Janelle couldn't quite believe it was five down, two to go. She had seriously considered skipping the feast because she hated the endings, the goodbyes. At the last minute she had changed her mind because she figured she'd need some fifth year closure.

Making her way through the Great Hall, she arrived at the Ravenclaw table. "Hey everyone", Janelle said to those seated in her immediate path. As usual, she was hungry and sat down in the nearest empty seat. Janelle's delayed entrance was less of that and more of hoping to arrive closer to eating time. Besides, the fewer goodbyes she had to say, the better. Janelle did not do goodbyes. So for now, she decided to look around and take inventory of the Ravenclaw table. Who was there and who was not?

Did she really say a lot of unnecessary words? Rooney had a habit of telling people his observations about them. Rooney didn't understand her emotional processes well, but he had a different process and was a boy, and boys were idiots about girls emotions. It was really cute how he tried to comfort her, and honestly she liked the kissing. Awwww, Rooney was absolutely adorable telling her not to be sad and kissing her. Penelope kissed Rooney on the cheek in return. "Rooney, you were an amazing prefect partner this year. Best of luck leading Ravenclaw in the terms to come. Write to me sometimes?" Penelope had always believed in Rooney's leadership abilities, and she couldn't wait to hear about what he was doing as he matured and went through OWLs.

Haddie. Penelope vividly remembered the feast when she had first met Haddie. That had turned out rather unpleasant due to Blaise Bellaire starting a food fight. She had gotten mashed potatoes in her hair and then it started raining. Not how she had imagined her first day as a prefect going, but she had met Haddie and Kitty so it wasn't all bad. Squeezing her arms around Haddie, Penelope tightly hugged the younger girl. Penelope admired Haddie's unique individuality. "It's okay Haddie. You haven't done anything that you should be sorry for." Penelope would miss Haddie a lot. "Of course I'll write to you Haddie." Maybe she would be able to see Haddie over the summer.

Penelope had been shocked to learn of Kitty's encounter with the hag, and it was a relief that Kitty was safe and alive. Poor girl. Probably mentally scarred from the near death experience. Kitty had been hiding under the Gryffindor table the first time that they had properly met. The words of the young Ravenclaw girl really touched Penelope. "Aww, Kitty, thank you." She wouldn't be forgetting any of these young Ravenclaw ladies any time soon. Oooh, a taker for pet rock care responsibility! Aquila would be left in good hands. "Then Aquila is yours to take care of." Penelope handed over Aquila and the blue leash to Kitty. "If there are others who really want to, you can include them in caring for Aquila."

There was another young Ravenclaw lady that Penelope wanted to speak to at the feast. "Janelle. You've grown into an amazing confident woman. Take care of them." Penelope motioned to the younger students. Perhaps Janelle would be a prefect next year as her older sister had been. Regardless, Janelle was a bright girl and a great student.

Abby had just finished her entry into the seventh year memory book and as she took a seat for the last time at the ravenclaw table she burst into tears as she was going to miss all the friends that she had made over the years and hoped that she would stay in touch with them all after she had got better from her spell damage that had affected her last year in some way

Janelle was busy checking out the happenings at the Ravenclaw table when she heard a familiar voice. Awww man. She was feeling good, staying in denial about the end of the year and the goodbyes that went with it. And then Penelope happened. Now she had to face the fact that some people would be leaving Hogwarts for good.........and that was sad.

Turning to the Head Girl, she forced a smile. "Thank you so much Penelope. That's so sweet of you to say. I promise I'll keep an eye out for the ickles." Penelope had been a good student leader and Janelle appreciated her kindness. With a genuine smile, she added, "I hope you enjoy life after Hogwarts. I know that you'll do a good job at whatever you choose to do. Have any great plans for the summer........or beyond?"

Leo walked slowly down from the staff dias towards the Ravenclaw table. He did it with a heavy heart since he had grown quite fond off all his eagles. It was hard to imagine not seeing them all and greeting new faces in September but it was life. Change was good.

As Leo stopped at the head of the table he smiled warmly around at the gathered eagles as he let his gaze shift from face to face to the other as he spoke. "Good evening all! I hope the food is tasty everyone? I'm coming down to personally let you all know that I'm leaving my positions here at Hogwarts for family reasons. I'm very proud of all of you and I hope that you all will continue to follow your dreams and to keep fighting for what you believe in." He paused for a minute or two before he continued. "Keep in contanct with your friends and remember to read lots of books so you can all be as knowledgeable as i know you all can be. And congrats for coming in second place in both of the cups. It's an accomplishment to be proud of. If anyone of you ever need my advice then send me a letter and I'll promise to respond...."

Leo hoped that whomever took over as head after him would give the eagles as much love and time as he had given them.

As Janelle was speaking with Penelope, Mr. Kitridge arrived at the table. Janelle turned her attention to the Ravenclaw leader as he began to speak. And then...........Head of House say whaaaaat? Nooooooo!! Janelle knew she had to deal with her classmates leaving and she was semi-prepared for that, but not this. She had learned to live with constant change, being from a military family and all. This she had not seen coming and that made a big difference.

Walking over to the Librarian, Janelle tried to come to grips with the news. It was for family reasons and she certainly couldn't fault the man for wanting to spend time with his family......but still. "Mr. Kitridge.......I'm so sorry that you are leaving. Ravenclaw won't be the same without you. I promise I'll work really hard to try to get our house back on top. Annnd.......I don't really do goodbyes so.......See you later, ok?" Now Janelle wondered who would be Mr. Kitridge's replacement next term? Whoever it was, she hoped that things would work out well.

Kitty took the blue leash with a shaky hand, honored beyond measure that she would get to do something for Penny and for Ravenclaw. "Thank you. I'll take care of Aquila and I'll love her always. I'll write to you all the time, I promise."

No sooner had she sat down when Kitridge approached and told them that he going too. No. Why were so many people leaving at once? Kitty stood and approached her head of house. "I promise to do all those things. I swear I'll study everything and I won't ever forget you, or any of my friends." She hesitated for a moment, not sure if it would be proper for her to hug him like she had Penelope. But then she went ahead and did it. "When will we see you again?" Because Kitty did not believe in permanent good byes.
