SPOILER!!: <3 .... So that still wasn't enough for her? Maybe he ought to just spell out the answers. Though he was starting to doubt that she would even accept that. This one was an interesting character. He'd give her that much. However, what she said next sounded so entirely ridiculous that he couldn't even suppress an audible laugh. "Boil you?" And then he understood. Sort of. Again, he laughed. "Last I recall, I was a part of the rescue team." So they were taking the 'not trusting' thing back to square one, yeah? Shame. He leaned back in his chair, easily. And besides, "I'm more for boiled vegetables," he nodded slowly. "Children don't do me any good if they can't participate in my lessons." Which would be difficult to do if they were sitting in a child-stew. He gave her a curious look. Her turn. |
SPOILER!!: I couldn't resist XD That laugh. Admittedly, she liked that laugh. It had made her feel somewhat comfortable with the man when they had first met. It was an honest, genuine, sort of laugh. However, today she couldn't let herself be fooled by wants or past perceptions. She had to find out the truth. She steeled her resolve. Especially when the mention of vegetables came into the equation. That was enough to disarm anyone! "Last I recall, the hag disappeared when that rescue team showed up." And yes, her recollection was more than a bit fuzzy. "If I were an ugly thing like her, I'd totally morph into something, someone, less..............suspicious." Totally. Folding her arms, Amur gave the man an unimpressed look that bordered on hurt. "Apparently we were participating in that lesson." It was a lesson, did he know? "We were very active....ingredients." |
SPOILER!!: less.... 'suspicious', eh? Honestly, it felt as though they were playing a game here. One in which James couldn’t win no matter what he chose as his next move. And that’s precisely why he hadn’t given her any direct answers thus far. Did it really matter if he did? She was incredibly Gryffindor. They didn’t take answers that were given to them, had to figure things out on their own. He’d know, he was also one of those. Though in this case, it was incredibly taxing. He was about to jump on her recollection, when she went ahead and said…. that. Though it was more about what she didn’t say. There was a very amusing implication she had just made there. And he acknowledged it with a very smug sort of look. ”Oh?” He watched her carefully, considering what her next move would be. This was one of his favorite games to play with his students. Guessing what they’d do next, whether they were as predictable as James often made them about to be. Amur was a little different in that respect, he’d give her that. Again, she managed to get another laugh out of him. ”Fair enough,” he nodded. ”But I suppose if you really thought I was a threat, you would’ve made a move by now.” He continued to rest back easily in his chair. ”And if I really was a threat, I would’ve made mine by now as well.” He glanced down at his watch before looking back up at her. It’s been an awfully long time keeping unnecessary chit chat going if she did really suspect him as much as she let on. So either she was scared or some part of her didn’t actually believe it. He bet on the latter. |
"Hello Professor!" Kitty smiled shyly at Professor Draper and walked through the entryway into his office. BRR!! It sure was cold in here, but Kitty didn't say anything because she knew from Draper's classes that he didn't like when students complained about the cold. Instead she buried her hands in her long robe pockets and sat down on one of the chairs and waited for Rachel to come in. Should she start with why they were here? Kitty didn't know if Rachel wanted to be the one to bring up her pet, so Kitty started with a more general question. "Rachel and I have pets back at home that we really, really, really want to bring to Hogwarts next term - but they aren't on the list of official Hogwarts pets. I have nine friendly earthworms and Rachel has a husky. Oh no, it wasn't a husky..." She looked at Rachel in embarrassment as a surge of unexpected shyness overcame her as she realized that she had forgotten what kind of dog Rachel had. Where it came from she did not know, but all of a sudden she felt like she was back in Romania, afraid of teachers and of making mistakes. Had she just ruined everything? |
#Late xD Kitty & Drapes! Rachel could help but smile as Professor Draper ushered them into his office. Yes, she knew he was grumpy but she still liked him. "Hello, Professor,'' she greeted, echoing Kitty. "How are you?'' She stepped into the office, noticing the dog on the cushion by the table. "Oh, he's so cute! Can I pat him, Professor?'' She did love doggies so much. But they weren't here to pat doggies. She and Kitty were here on a mission. Rachel nodded as Kitty launched into the reason for their visit. "A Jack Russel terrier,'' she corrected with a smile. "Like Kitty said, Professor, we're wondering if we're allowed to bring them? I'd be happy to keep him in the barnyard or wherever you want him to be. I understand if I can't bring Barkley but can Kitty bring her worms?'' The younger eagle looked up hopefully at the man towering over them. Please say yes. |
SPOILER!!: your two sweethearts<3 James allowed the two girls to make their way inside before letting go of the door and walking in himself. When he did, he walked straight towards his seat. He nodded at Kitty and turned towards Rachel as she spoke, "Not bad," and ah, she found Merlin. "Sure," luckily Merlin was much more willing to give love than James was. And before he knew it the other girl was speaking again. He much preferred it when they visited the office one at a time. It was much easier to follow. But he wouldn't kick them out and make them come in one by one. He wasn't quite that cruel. Kitty had loads to say which wasn't all that surprising considering her house. Anyways, he ought to start paying attention now, yeah? Maybe. Something about a ... husky? James raised his brows slightly, watching the girl carefully. And now she was going quiet. Right when she had gotten his attention. Right. At which point the other child took over. He didn't say anything right away, instead letting them think over it for a bit. "You can bring... worms," he nodded. Why the child had pet worms was absolutely beyond him. Worms? That was the least exciting pet ever imaginable. Typical Ravenclaws. That was aside from the point here, however, as the real matter at hand still remained. "Rachel, why do you want to bring your dog here?" No malice in his voice whatsoever, it was a genuine question. He needed to understand the situation a little better if they were going to come out with a plan here, yeah? |
"Thank you Professor Draper!" Kitty beamed at the professor and at Rachel as she was given permission to bring her precious worms to Hogwarts next term. Now she wouldn't have to worry if they were being well taken care of, and her mom wouldn't be annoyed at having to feed them after getting back home from work. And she could show them to her friends! Trying not to look too excited, Kitty asked her next question. "Do you think I should keep them in the barn, or in the common room? I just want them to be safe, so whichever one works better is fine with me." All that mattered was that they would be at Hogwarts and she would get to see them everyday. Now all they had to do was convince Professor Draper to let Rachel bring her Jack Russel terrier to Hogwarts. Kitty thought it was best to let Rachel answer the question first, and if Draper wouldn't budge then she would come in and try to argue (respectfully) in defense of Rachel's pet. |
Kitty & Drapes! Rachel barely contained an excited squeal within when Professor Draper said that Kitty could bring her worms to school. Instead, it came out more like a squeak. She when pink in the cheeks and cast a glance at the man. He was sure he disapproved of excited squeals or squeaks. Oh! A question for her. Rachel didn't needs to think twice. "I miss him, Professor. I miss his little barks, him bouncing around at my feet, his licks on my cheek,'' she said simply. "I miss hugging him.'' As she said this, she absently hugged Draper's dog gently as she watched up at its owner. "I have his picture but that isn't enough sometimes. He really is a well behaved dog, Professor. I promise he will not cause any trouble.'' She gave draper hopeful looks with those big, brown eyes of hers. |
SPOILER!!: lil' claws Sure, kid. James just nodded. The child had just found out she could bring her worms to school with her and yet she was acting as if the impossible had just happened. Look kid hate to break it to you but they are just worms. Nothing special. If Kitty really wanted to, she could literally walk out side and pick some out of the dirt. They were worms, not fairy unicorns. Worms. Found all over the world in the ground, worms. Super useless and very dirty, worms. Five centimeters long and slimy, worms. More common than than finding a book in the library, worms. Just worms. They didn't even DO anything. She could take it down a notch he was sure. ........."Considering they are incredibly small and harmless," he wanted to add a 'pointless creature to have as a pet' but he felt that was perhaps too much, "you can keep them with you as long as they are kept in a small carrier." They were just worms after all. JUST WORMS. Were all Ravenclaws this ridiculous? Because he has yet to meet one that wasn't. "I'm sure he is Ms. Watson," however, "but unfortunately if I allowed everyone to bring their well-behaved pets to school simply because they are missed, we would run out of room in the barn. Space is limited." And priority stalls went to the school's creatures. Still there wasn't malice in his voice though his tone may have come off as slightly harsh. It was just who he was as a person. What made her puppy so special that it should be given this priority? "It would be unfair to give this permission to one student and not the others. Don't you think?" The worms were different. They were WORMS. Do-nothing-but-sit-and-wiggle WORMS. |
