Post 1 - Cleaning Ellery eagerly dug her hands into the trash because this was her natural habitat, let's be real. She was the QUEEN of trash. The trash queen. She started pushing the discarded remains of junk around her into a pile, then found a pretty large bucket and overturned it onto her head. "KKKKKSSSSSHHHHHH…..PPPPPPPPPFFFUUUUUU. KKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH….PPPPPPFFFUUUUU." She was Darth Vader, obviously. "….Luuuuuuuke." She tried to use the force to move some trash around, but alas, she couldn't see. |
SPOILER!!: MYERS! And speaking of deliveries, here was Paul with everything they could need. Moxley grinned as she approached the man and clapped him on the shoulder. "Professor Myers, so nice to see you!" It was. They were buds now. Geddit? BUDS. Plants. HERBO PROFESSOR. ehehehe. Anywhoo, she was glad he was here and from the looks of it, the kids were as well. "It is quite a cute little thing, isn't it? You should name it." People did that, name plants. She was pretty sure, anyway. "Feel free to hang around and help out, if you want." Any and all help was appreciated. SPOILER!!: Raven! While the kiddos came over to start claiming plants, Moxley busied herself with a broom and helped to sweep up some of the mess around her. She was whistling to herself as she worked, finding that she was quite content in the moment. She only looked up after hearing her name called, noting she was needed. "No need to throw it away if you can find a better use for it, Raven. Be creative!" |
Post 3/Cleaning and claiming some daffodils Text Cut: Goblinfrog and kayquilz Ariadne tied the bag of leaves she'd just picked up and placed the trash bag next to the first one she'd done. She'd gathered two full bags of debris by herself. She was getting REALLY tired (and tired of cleaning), but there was so much more to be done! To change things up a little, Ariadne decided to gather some of the fallen branches and limbs into a small pile, too. "Yeah, homeschooling was fun. When I was a really little kid, I loved being around my mom and dad all the time. Now that I'm eleven, though, I'm really excited to be with kids my own age all the time instead," she replied. "My mom taught Potions and was the Slytherin Head of House." She nodded when Kitty suggested leaving the trash bags off to the side. "That's what I thought, too." With her hands now free, Ariadne began roaming around the room looking for all the fallen branches and limbs. As she gathered them, she put them in a small pile off to the side. She left some of the bigger ones where they were. The older kids would have to get those. All the little limbs and branches though? She had that! She had a pretty good pile going when the door to the classroom opened, and Professor Myers came in. HONKING DAFFODILS! Now this clean-up process was KICKIN'! "KITTY!" she exclaimed. "Let's plant some of those Honking Daffodils!" Ariadne was so excited that she bounced in place. "Thanks, Professor Myers!" Ariadne bee-lined for the plants, her eyes wide and her heart racing. This was SO COOL! She looked them over as if she was selected the best of the very best for her project. She claimed the three loudest ones and gathered them in her hands. She'd never planted Honking Daffodils before! |
Post 4-Coming for the daffodils. Professor Myers Janelle looked around, trying to come up with ideas. She wanted to make her little area look beautiful. As she turned to the side, her eyes landed on the graffiti adorned wall. Too bad they didn't have any spray paint in those supplies. If the bad graffiti could be covered up, Janelle knew that she could create something much prettier on the wall with a few cans of spray paint. If only. So what else could she do? When Professor Myers came in with flowers, Janelle knew that was just what she needed. Walking over to the group of pots, the Ravenclaw was inspired. Honking daffodils. Only at Hogwarts. When Janelle got close enough to really see the plants, she had to smile. They were kind of cute. "Hello Professor Myers", she said. "I'd like to take a few of these daffodils to plant." She knew just where to put them too. Things were starting to come together. Janelle took a moment to take it all in. Everyone was busy working and the room was looking so much nicer. |
Post 3 - Cleaning Olivia opted to leave her mostly full bag of garbage where the others were hung out in favor of working on other items to clean up. There had been branches and other more natural items where she had been working, so she returned there to begin picking the wooden sticks up. The first year gathering them up in a bundle in her arm as she debated what to do with them. It wasn't like everything collected had to be trashed or recycled but maybe rather reused. For now, she settled on placing them in a nice neat pile off to one side out of the way once the collection was too big for her arms. The Ravenclaw then went back to her clearing work, picking up another albeit smaller load and adding it to her previous pile. Satisfied with her collection, the first year retrieved a rake to clear away the leaves that had been mixed in among the branches and trash. The area she had been work was certainly looking nice. |
Post 3 Building / Beautification Oh theres another professor dropping by? The curly top paused for a moment and looked up, seeing pots and pots of the noisiest daffodils hes ever had the chance to meet. There they go honk honk a-honkin, the sound had to make him laugh. Immediately the atmosphere around this dire place is a lot more festive already. Tenacius returned to his work, carrying on on securing the brace for the fence poles, hammering them down and testing the swing's framework from time to time. This was that which will bear the weight, he wanted to make sure it wont just flop backwards in utter failure yeah? When the framework was secure, he then turned to that tire of his, the one with the metal chain. "Now for you buddy" he muttered as he flipped the tire upright then hoisted the chain onto the former fence's metal framework. Hoist hoist hoist, then secure the chain on top of the horizontal pole with more nails, more tweaking and hammering and more elbow grease. Just keep going... Just keep going |
Post 1 - Cleaning Sooooooo cleaning. Esme wasn't totally opposed to that since she WAS required to clean at home. It just didn't involve as much dirt and garbage everywhere. She could work with it though; it was for a good cause if she ignored the fact that this was actually the classroom; not as if Professor Moxley was going to take them on a field trip to do this. Those were reserved for cool things like an observatory or space museum - basically anything that related to what Professor Flamsteed taught. "Hello, Professor Myers!" How lovely for him to show up like that with a delivery of honking daffodils. Flowers made everything better in her opinion. She would definitely be taking some of those. "Are you going to help us clean up?" Grabbing a garbage bag, she started working to clear away some of the garbage. Olivia was working on sorting out the leaves and branches. That was a good idea. Maybe she would join her soon. First, however, she needed to deal with this mess. Making a face she placed an empty drink container in the bag. Littering was never cool. |
That tire crew tho ^__^ (plus a hi for Myers) SPOILER!!: Ava, Olly, Sal Jr., & Moxley "Yeah, no magic in Muggle Studies," Davie replied to Ava, sounding a bit sad about it and all. He DID remember the spell from Transfiguration; was she referencing that dragon lesson? THAT HAD BEEN SOOOOO COOL. But yeah, they had a tire to work on, and now Olly was involved. AND Olly had a rope! "Nice," Davie approved of the rope, a big grin working his way onto his face. "That should definitely work, Olly. Let's measure it with the tire. Blaise," he turned to shout excitedly over his shoulder, "we got a rope!" And obviously Blaise would want to be a part of this project, instead of picking up junk. Obviously. Then the Gryffindor kid he'd been trying to find, the one who had started his OWN tire swing, piped up, AND he went and got tools from the Headmistress. "Awesomeeeee," Davie breathed a little to himself, pushing his glasses up his nose. For once it looked like one of his projects was literally going to get off the ground!!! This was almost as good as that time he and Char made Frankenmutantworms!!!!!!1!! "WE'LL BE THERE IN A SEC," he shouted across the room at the curly-haired boy, then hurried back to where his and Blaise's tire was. Okay, don't get ahead of yourself, Truebridge. They still had to move the tire over to the Gryffindor with all the tools. "Can you guys help me lift this?" Davie called up to Ava and Olly and Blaise, knowing that his fellow secondies would come through. "If we get it up on one side, we can probably roll it over to him." Him being that Gryff with the tire swing zone. He was... he was making something over there, maybe a structure to hang the tires from? Yeah? Well they'd get their tire over there in no time, surely. Quote:
"HAI PROFESSOR!" Davie stood up from helping lift the tire swing to wave enthusiastically at Professor Myers. Honking daffodils were JUST WHAT THEY NEEDED. But also, did Myers see his tire swing |
*rearranges so Moxley is first* Quote:
Maybe he would name it. He held the plant up and squinted. "I'll name him...Gilbert." Gilbert the Honking Daffodil. Wonderful. "And sure...I'd love to stick around! It would be my UTMOST pleasure!" Hehe. Plus, some of the students had begun to talk to him and greet him so he could just walk out now. Quote:
Still honking, though. Quote:
Hope she didn't mind a little honking! Quote:
Gilbert was honking away in his arms, by the way. Pal found it adorably endearing. Quote:
Quote:
Maybe HE would plant some himself...hmm. Quote:

post2-still cleaning Cal got bored of the broom wielding thing really, really fast. Plus, his hair kept dropping into his face and mouth, and was getting sticky from the effort. Hard stuff keeping a gorgeous metal hairdo like this. It was quite obvious now that hard work should be left for those who don't know better. He let the broom drop and reached for another thing. A rake, right? He was to use to collect shoes right? The fourteen year-old purposely grassing over some people's shoes, stopping only to see what the Herbology professor was bringing in. That man was too enthusiastic for safety, but herbology was pretty cool. Cal tapped a honking daffodil with the end of the rake softly to hear it honk. |
Post 5- Painting/ Washing + Myers! ^_^ SPOILER!!: Spencer! <3 Rachel smiled at Spencer. "Yes, I am. I love it! The best part of it is my dorm mates. They make me feel so much at home. What about you? How do you like Gryffindor? You're not one of those that go around starting food fights, are you?'' She was coming straight to the question that bugged her. As the duo worked, Rachel occasionally glanced over at Spencer. "You're doing a good job.'' Indeed he was. She finished paining her first bucket with a flourish and then reached for another to begin scrubbing. "That's a good question,'' she remarked, dipping her sponge into the water to begin scrubbing vigorously. "I was actually thinking that they would be great for planting something. It would be nice to recycle them.'' The words were hardly out of her mouth when she heard a honking sound. It was a rather familiar one as she spent a lot of time in Greenhouses where her parents kept them and even here at Hogwarts. "Look, Spencer! Professor Myers has honking daffodils! We can pant some of those! I'll go ask him for a few.'' Excitedly, Rachel skipped over to him. "Hello, Professor! Can I have a few of those for Spencer and I to plant?'' Pretty please with extra pink on top? |
Post 4 Building / Beautification + Tire Crew SPOILER!!: ickle Truebunz Ok so looks like the tire crew was headed this way, with more supplies too. Huzzah! Tenacius stood back a looked at his swing now hanging on the formerly scraggy, broken fence. Very not bad eh? He pushed his tire swing and gingerly put his weight on it. Very not bad, given that these were all worthless junk earlier. The miracle a bit of elbow grease (and a bucket load of sweat) can do eh? He watched the others get their tires into gear. And speaking of making old tires useful, the Gryffindor boy also started rolling more tires nearer to his work area. Yup he's got another project a-brewin' under that curly noggin of his. Keep on rollin... Keep on rollin.... |
Carl, who stayed silent all throughout the lesson, sat up at the mention of an activity. To be honest, he was not really interested in the subject, seeing as he already knew a lot about Muggles. The Headmistress/Professor was nice though, so he was at least listening to what she said. It felt different to hear witches' and wizards' views on the Muggle World, which was another advantage of this class. Cleaning up the trash? That wouldn't be too difficult, if everybody cooperated. Gloves, bin bags, rakes and all the Muggle supplies probably meant that they could not use magic. Carl had no problem with that. The paint and paint brushes reminded him of the Puffer Paint Party. Speaking of which, there was Professor Myers! Daffodils were a brilliant idea. He wanted some, but first he had to get his cleaning done. After grabbing a pair of gloves and a bag, the Hufflepuff headed to an area with many scattered buckets. He pulled on his gloves and began picking them up and dropping them into his bin bag. |

Following the professor’s instruction, Jace got two more bin bags from the supply box, painted one with the letter ‘T’ for trash, and ‘R’ for Recyclables. Jace was about to hang it, when he heard another boy, and older one, asked about the plastic bottles. It seems that he and the older kid has the same wavelength right now. Jace scuttled to where the boy was, stopped in front of him and bowed his head in greeting. “Hi.” He said smiling brightly at him, “You mentioned about recycling earlier, right?” he asked, still clutching the painted bin bags and oversized broom in his hands. “Is...um...is it okay if you hang these bags for me? Just, right on the fence over there. I...I’m too small to reach the top.” He said sheepishly. It sucks to be an eleven year old. "I can help you sort!" Jace didn't need to be commanded by his peers. Jace picked a number of plastic bottles around him, and placed it inside the proper bin bag. |
Post 1 There had been a good reason Brooklyn hadn’t said anything when the question of volunteering had been asked, just as there was a good reason she hadn’t said anything since then. She didn’t offer her time for anyone when it didn’t get her anything as well. She hadn’t seen any reason to, and as people had started cleaning around her, she’d stayed perched on the edge of the tire a few moments longer. If she waited long enough, all the cleaning would be done. She wouldn’t have to get dirty. This had to be one of the stranger activities they’d ever been expected to do for Muggle Studies. Especially since she knew they’d be expected to do it all by hand, without magic. She’d nudged a few scraps of paper, along with a plastic bottle, into a pile with her foot, though. If she had to, she’d clean. After another second, she gathered a bag and some gloves and shifted her little collection inside. Now there was one cleaner spot on the floor. She was left wondering if there would end up being paint splatters all over by the end of the activity, however. She didn’t particularly feel like getting paint on herself. |
Raven, and professor Myers : ) Quote:
It means that she needs something to protect her hand, right? Jessie remembered that she still had a pair of gloves she from professor myers. She might visit him to greenhouse or his office to give back the gloves after the class over. Time to cleaning! And working by herself might be good idea. Seemed like nobody want her to be their pairing. Even she wants to be paired with someone she knew. But she wasn't sure to ask him. Jessie almost picking her first trash when a voice came to her. Raising her face, Jessie could see that the slytherin boy was standing in front of her with his bin bags. Jessie smiling widely at his offers "Hey, of course! She imitate his action and stole a glance to Raven almost in every five minutes. Finally she's being noticed by him hahaha... When suddenly Raven pick up a bottle and spoke his idea to the headmistress Jessie only nodded in agreement. Sound like an creative idea! And she almost spill out her agreement, her eyes found out another familiar presence with the flower, her face lit up in excitement. " Hi, professor. Nice to see you here. I'm sorry, your gloves is still with me." she raised her hands "I will give it back to you after this class is over, sir." |
Post 2 - Cleaning Jace continued to sort through the trash, picking out those that can be recycled. Mostly are plastic bottles in different sizes. He got his first bin bag on the floor, and dumped all the recyclables inside it, and when it was full enough, tossed everything into the bin bag that was labelled ‘R’. If he were in Japan, he’d be asked to peel off the plastic label stuck around it, and sort it into ‘plastics’. After getting that one out, it was also required to separate the plastic bottle cap from the rest of the container. Bottle caps should go into another separate bin. People can tell that sorting out trash in Japan is a very big deal. How big of a deal is it? Well, to start off with the basics, they’ve got 34 categories for it. And that’s just for one small town. After dumping all the plastics in the right bin, Jace picked up his oversized broom, and started sweeping off leaves from the ground, and would occasionally stop to pick candy wrappers out of his pile. Those wrappers will have to go directly into the T bin bag. |
post 2 Okay, approval from the Professor “ thank you Professor Moxley” he smile and start to find tools he would be needing to made his creativity, he is going to make a flower pot and also something that he read on his muggle books, whats its called.. think hard to the name he was not used to hear often… uhhmm what was it? Hydrooo… uuhmmm hyroponik? No… AH!! HYDROPONICS!! That was it, he gonna make it and put it in this class.. okay now, back to the honking Daffodils, plant it in used tires would be great and make a small pond from the tires with daffodils around it, yes that’s it.. he smile so wide after find some ideas to make some creativity from trash Quote:
“sure!! Hey, im Raven, what’s your name? why did you bowed before asking some help? you didn't have to do that, just ask me..'" he smile to the boy before he continue asking "and what does this R and T means?” he look confused at some bin bags with letter painted on them Quote:
Now, to the daffodils! He would need it he raised his hand and waved to Professor Myers “yes.. Professor Myers, I would like to have some of those Daffodils, may i? I wanna plant it in used tires please” another smile came up to him He felt happy, to cleans up and make things by his own hand! Never thought he would done this kinda accomplishment, he felt proud |
Post 3 - Cleaning (for professor Myers too!) Quote:
"Arigatou," Jace smiled as he said his thanks, and bowed his head again. He watched the older boy hang the painted bags and smiled at him when he returned. "It's nice to meet you, Raven-san. My name is Jace." he said, tipping his head. "Oh the bowing? It's my way of greeting you. That's how we do it in Japan." Surely, he's heard of that country? The Ravenclaw didn't mind that he looked weird doing it, but it made him unique. He liked being slightly different from the rest. "Oh, that. I asked Professor Moxley if it's okay to sort through the trash. 'T' is for trash, and 'R' is for recyclable. If you find recyclables like plastic bottles, it goes right through that 'R' bin bag." Jace said gesturing to his handy-dandy work. "If you need my help, Raven-san, just let me know. I'll be just here, sweeping some more trash." he said, picking up his oversized-broom and continued to sweep the floor. Sweep, sweep, sweep. Oh? An old shoe? Merlin, this place is just...a mess literally, wasn't it? Jace picked it up with his gloved hand, and placed it on a safe corner of the room. He'd plant in it in a while. The Ravenclaw got his own bin bag, opened it wide enough, and started to sweep leaves inside it. Once he was done, he tugged the filled bag behind him, and a made a beeline for the Herbology professor. ... Jace looked up at the man, and gave him a cheerful wave. "Professor Myers, we meet again!" he said smiling up at the man he met back in Ollivander's, and bowed his head in greeting. "Would you like this bag of leaves? It'll make for a great compost!" he said, tugging the bag behind him, and showed it to the man. "It should make the soil richer, right? Oh...and can I get one of those?" he asked pointing his finger at one of the Honking Daffodils. While waiting for the man to respond, Jace picked up the lost shoe he found amongst the pile of trash, and started to clean it with a wet sponge and water. |
Post 7: Zeke & Professor Myers What was happening? Hady could hear bits and pieces of many of the conversations going on around herself and Zeke from where they were painting a fence. It was a bit distracting at times but she had already learned to mute most of it out and focus on the painting and her friend. However a call about deliveries or something got her attention. Turning to look over her shoulder at the arrival of Professor Myers the girl grinned at seeing what he was carrying. Many flowers. Honking ones. Looking back at her friend she suddenly got an idea. Just a little something to spice up the area they were working in. "Be right back I'm going to get a flower to plant over here by the fence," Hady informed him setting her paint brush into the can and getting to her feet. She had been so into what she was doing she hadn't even noticed the paint on her clothing yet. Not that she would even mind. "Hello Professor Myers!," she greeted making her way over towards the man. "If there's anymore left would I be able to get one to plant over there?," she then gestured from the potted flowers to the fence where she had been painting with the Lion. "I think it'll look really nice over there." Hopefully he had enough flowers to go around. |
Post 2 - Cleaning honestly Esme couldn't blame Professor Myers for wanting to abstain from touching garbage. It wasn't very nice at all. "No magic," she agreed knowing that Professor Moxley wouldn't approve of it in a Muggle Studies lesson. "Maybe we could be creative with the flowers and arrange the pots so that they form an image or design," she suggested as a fun idea. The peace sign was her first choice. For the moment though, she was continuing to pick up garbage, sorting between recyclable and non-recyclable goods. There was no need to toss out empty bottles and other plastic/glass goods when they could be reused. It would be wasteful and not very good for the environment; there was already too much garbage being dumped into landfills. Instead, she collected them in a separate pile so that they could be tossed into the recycling bin when she was finished. As she worked, she began to hum a little tune to herself in order to keep herself going. Music really could do wonders for productivity. |
Post 3 Quote:
"I'm going to take a picture of them!" Kitty declared, and she took her small magic camera (a gift from her mom) and snapped a picture. "I've never seen that kind of flower before. Do they really honk?" "It looks like most of the leaves and twigs are already picked up"Kitty observed, looking around at the room. Next they could plant the flowers and paint the fence like Ariadne wanted to. The hard part was over, now the fun began! |
Post 4 - Beautification / Planting The Ravenclaw sat on the floor with his legs crossed, and continued with his task. Jace meticulously cleaned the boot, making sure that he got all the dirt out of it with his sponge, and brush. As he continued to prepare the old boot, he began to imagine the design he’d put on it, so it wouldn’t look depressing. Instead of using a vase...or simply planting the flowers on the ground, he thought it would be brilliant to use something unique, like the boot he found a while ago, to hold the flowers. That way, he’s not only making the place beautiful, but he was able to recycle as well. Jace smiled at the thought and continued to scrub the boot, and then dried it with one of the rags in the supply box. After he was done, he got up to get himself two pints of paint, and two paint brushes. Time to decorate! |
Post 2- Cleaning After Colt got his supplies for cleaning the windows, he was going to tackle all the grime. He got out his window cleaner and began to clean the glass first. He squeezed the nozzle and cleaned off the glass. He looked at his window and looked at it in disgust. Errrgghhh. That was nasty. Even his paper towel or rag whatever it was, it was covered in dirt. He threw it away and got a new one. He began to clean till the window was spotless. It was a lot of elbow grease to say the least. He finished one window and realized he had more to go. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. He went to the other window and began the same process. He cleaned and cleaned till he actually saw his reflection in the mirror. "Well would you look at this. I can see myself." He began to make funny faces in the mirror and laughed. He got his supplies to tackle the grime on the windows and once that was done, he began to look around. He wondered what else needed cleaning since everyone else was doing it. He saw a trash can overflowing with recyclables. He shrugged and went to go get them but first he needed gloves. |
Post 5 - Beautification / Painting / Planting Minding the almost cleaned floor, Jace used an old newspaper to protect it from paint splats. He’s that considerate people, or maybe he’s just naturally OC about these things. After setting the paint buckets and boot on top of the newspaper, Jace got the first paint brush, and dipped it into the bucket containing a rich hue of green paint. Carefully, he pulled the brush back up, and slowly applied it to the boot. He filled the bottom half with green paint, and then added yellow patches on top with another brush dipped in yellow paint. He’s no Picasso, that’s definite, but the half-Japanese Ravenclaw was quite pleased with how his little project was coming along. He’d have to put his name too when he’s done! |
