How strange. Jaemin wasn't at all used to feeling any kind of tall... but even he had to duck in this room. The small boy waddled around a bit until he found the board with the instructions; he re-read them a few times, blinking rapidly.

Sticky... shoes...? Flying boxes? Can't fall to your death? There were so many things that called for concern in these directions, but Jaemin wasn't about to just... give up. The small boy pointed his wand at one of the trap doors.

"Ahh." Wand movement. He had to make sure he did the wand movement. Jaemin focused himself, biting his lip. He had to get it right on the first time this time. "Alohomora..."

His parents were really very lucky that he'd outgrown his need to burst in on them in the bathroom.

The next room was small. Not in length but in height and Yoongi,who had long legs cursed under his breath. Did he really need to crawl?!

He read the instructions quickly as he wanted to get out of this room but at the same time feared the next part. If it said they had to CLIMB the wall then that meant he had tomdeal with HEIGHTS again and sorry but not sorry, he was not going to help out others in this part. He had to keep himself under control and focused.

He took a deep breath and looked up to see the trap door. He pointed his wand and with a non-verbal 'alohomora' he opened it and climbed through.

Kaycee said her numbers and moved on to the next room. ... which... did this even qualify as a room? She crouched down and looked around for the instructions. What were they doing here?

She moved toward the opposite end of the room. Slowly. It was cramped in here.

When she finally made it to the opposite end of the room, she read over the instructions. ... climbing walls? They were climbing walls today? That was... interesting. Possibly fun.

But first, to get through the trapdoor. She awkwardly pointed her wand up. She said a quick "alohomora" and hoisted herself out of the low room.

And then stood up to full height. Muuuch better for the back.

Woah. This place was low. While Cornelius was probably one of the tallest in his year, he was not THAT tall. Yet, feeling like his hair would rub up on the ceiling, Cornelius ducked down, knees bent and started waddling like duck. He felt like quite a sneaky duck. Onward to another mission in his imagination.

Goal: .......???

He didn't know...

Turning every which way like a lost child in a store looking for his mum, Cornelius searched for directions. There were more, yeah? He NEEDED directions in order to know what his mission would be about. Not too soon he found them not too far away from him. The directions themselves weren't that complicated, it just sounded like a lot of little tasks, and honestly, he was feeling a bit lazy. Why so much? Oh right. He almost forgot this was a TEST. Crud.

Goal #1: cast Alohomora to open the door.

He was going to end up a pro at unlocking things by the time this lesson was over. Stopping at a trapdoor, the Slytherin boy directed his wand at it, tracing the charm's movement before casting. A little bit of practice didn't hurt.

"Alohomora!" His heart leaped at the sound of a click. HE DID IT! Later losers, Cornelius Orion Baltazar is on the move.

Small movements now, keep your eyes closed, slooooooooowly...

Katherine ignored the pain in her eyes and the rest of her body. All she wanted was landing safely on the ground, open the stupid box and get out of here. The adrenaline of fear was rushing through her veins and she was extra sensitive to every stimulant. She just wanted to go back to her bed, but she bet there was going to be yet another test. What did the professor want to see? Their magic abilities? These were easy spells even for a first year, anyone who had read a word about them would be able to cast them. She didn't like this test at all, and she RARELY ever disapproved of something a teacher had done, so this spoke volumes. She could have just not climbed the wall, sure, but then she bet she would just get detention. She would need a year's rest after this class, though... if only she could reach the ground...

After an ETERNITY, her feet touched the ground. She sloooooooowly opened her eyes (which were dull at this point, and it took her a few moments to get used to the light after closing them tightly for so long) and upon seeing that it really was ground, her tired body could hold no more. She barely had time to sit down at least instead of half fainting, and put the box aside to take a moment. She buried her face in her hands, breathed quickly and shallowly for a moment, then felt her cheeks that were burning. Her whole body felt shaky, but she couldn't let all the effort to go to waste. She had to hurry, there were a few students in the classroom now. So she got out her wand again and drew a backwards S quickly while saying "Alohomora."

The box ought to open now and she wanted to get out of here.

Like it said on the directions there was a pair of gloves and shoes waiting for him. Cornelius wasted no time in rolling his sleeves up to his elbows and kicking his shoes off. This was exciting. It beat sitting down at a desk any day. When he was done suiting up, the boy stuck his hands together then pulled them apart, laughing at the sticky sound it made. Together...apart...STICK...together...apart...STICK...together...apart...STICK.

That was fun.

Oh! What would happen if--he glanced upward at his fringe. Cornelius could make out the few curls over his eyebrows. What would happen if he petted his hair with STICKY gloves? Hehehe. Since he didn't want to deny his curiosity the answer, Cornelius slapped his hand to his head. The glove couldn't possibly be THAT sticky. Naaaah. He pulled his hand away...only...he...couldn't.

TUG TUG TUG.

He couldn't lift his hand from his head. The glove was STUCK to his hair. HIS HAIR. Oh Merlin. He was going to have a premature heart attack. Oh Merlin. His hair. HIS BEAUTIFUL CURLS. The money makers! Cornelius tried tugging on the glove again, save this time his hand slipped out, leaving the glove on his head.

It was like a plaster. He had to rip it off. Fast. "On three," he whispered to himself. "Three...two...one." YAAAANK! His head stung as a few hairs were yanked out by the stickiness of the glove. A yelp escaped before he could stop himself. "Ouuuuuuuuuuuuch!" His hand clamped over his mouth, eyes stinging.

That. Hurt.

He wasn't crying. He was just...thankful the sticky glove hadn't pulled out more hair than he'd felt. This was so embarrassing and painful. His first lesson of the term and he almost left himself bald. The glove looked silly with a few curly hairs sticking from it. Wiping at his eyes, the boy grew somber. This is what happens when he goes and makes stupid decisions. He knew it. Stupid were decisions were fun though.

With a last sniffle he lifted his limbs and started his trek up the wall.

She shook her head viciously when he offered her trying it on her own. She really, really wasn't keen on the idea and was much happier on the sidelines for this one. She would open the boxes, he needn't worry about that. Her word was something she could guarantee...but...uh...no climbing.

When he looked down at her and tried to give her some comfort all she gave him was a thumb's up.

She was fine right here. On the ground. Climb, monkey, climb.

Jace watched as letters glowed inside his box. The Ravenclaw looked up and nodded at Azura and Rachel who went on ahead.

Jace looked around him briefly, checking that he's got everything that he needs before moving on to the next room. Feeling the wand in his chest holster, Jace cleared his throat and recited the letters inside his box. "S-A-T-T."

Not far from where he was standing, a door opened for him. Quickly, he ran toward the threshold and showed himself inside the next room.

Somehow, Esme resisted the temptation to let herself plummet to the ground. That would take the challenge out of the activity, and she wanted to do this by herself because she knew that she COULD.

Carefully cradling the small box in the crook of her arm, she started the slow descent down the wall. She could have gone faster but she didn't want to risk dropping her prize. Inside was the key to the next room, so she knew that it wasn't fragile...but that was besides the point. Esme was going to show the Professor that she had what it took to excel in Charms - especially because she had a feeling she might be boycotting her favourite class.

It was rather tragic.

After what seemed like forever, she reached the bottom of the wall. Excellent. Smiling, she placed the box on the ground by her feet before removing the gloves and shoes. Her own shoes were placed back on her feet, and it was time for her to move on to the next room! Eagerly she picked the box up.

"Alohomora."

Once again there was a satisfying click.

Thornton would have shrugged had he not been attached to the wall at four points. Was his role to encourage her? He'd have thought about it some more, but hanging from the wall was starting to get a little achey.

"Alright, then..." he said, turning back to face the ceiling and continue his assent. Finally reaching a height where he thought he could easily get at the boxes, he whistled once. Grabbing the box from the air as it came to him, he tucked it under an arm. He whistled a second time, to get a box for Chloe. Once he had his hand around it, he looked at the two, trying to figure out the best way to get them down.

"Chloe," he called down, looking over his shoulder."I'm going to drop them both down, ok?" Hopefully they wouldn't break. Or, you know, hit her in the head.

Without waiting for a reply from Mel she continued through the space seeing something waiting for them. Sticky gloves and shoes.... Um what!? She suddenly remember the rest of the directions, her mouth formed an O and she looked around she had to climb a wall and retrieve one of those silly boxes that were floating throughout the air. Sighing she put on the left shoe first before struggling to put on the right shoe. Slipping on the gloves she grimaced these things felt funny.

Arista put one hand onto the wall and then lifted one foot before repeating the step with her other hand and foot and began to climb up the wall. She had never been good at climbing so it wasn't a surprise when she had to stop before she neared any of the boxes. She sighed how in the world was anyone doing this.

Robin was right behind Jaemin going into the room, well, crouching into the room. Is this what it felt like to be tall? Huh, overrated. She glared at the boy who had just wrinkled his nose at her. His nose! What did she smell? She sulked

She had never felt the need to prove herself to anyone but herself before yet here this snake boy was..was insulting her! Quickly reading the instructions she gave Jaemin a stern look, but with a hint of a smug smile. If he wanted to push her consider her pushed.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of heights?" she looked him over as she mentally went over the opening charm in her head. She had done it, what, twice now? Easy.

"Alohomora"

She hoisted herself through, only struggling a little. Putting on her gloves and shoes she gave the boy a more sympathetic glance.
"Even if you can't get hurt it's ok to be careful" she paused remembering his attitude towards her the last time she was nice. She looked ahead glumly "I heard Slytherin students were mean but I didn't believe them because,unlike you, I don't judge a person by their house"
Not looking back, she began to climb

One hand on the wall for stability, Ailsa made a couple of passes at a box as it floated past before her fingers finally entrapped it. She shoved the box into one of the variously-sized pockets she'd sewn into the inside of her robe to make it more useful, hung there for a moment or two, then began her climb down.

Reaching the floor she noticed another Ravenclaw girl, Katherine, she thought she'd heard at the Ravenclaw commune the other night, had just climbed down as well, and was looking a little shaky. "Great job!" she offered in encouragement. "It's not so bad as it looks now you look back at it, is it?"

His Quidditch training came in handy during this hunt-the-flying-box activity. Now he half understood why his dad had made him practice all Quidditch positions. Like a spider monkey, he left his trust to the charmed gloves and shoes and swung from three limbs as his hand reached out for a box. It was a lot of fun. He was on the ceiling causing his hair to swing.

SWING SWING SWING.

Hehehehe. Fun.

The box was easy to catch. All it took was a small whistle for it to come to him. Looking down at the floor, the boy smirked. He could already hear his mother's voice at what he was thinking. Don't even think about it, Cornelius Orion Baltazar. Thing was he already thought about it so it was too late and he was already acting on it. Un-sticking the gloves and shoes from the ceiling, Cornelius dropped, twisting mid-air and landing on his feet like a kneazle.

TAH-DAH!

Just like Quidditch practice. 'S how you avoided head injuries. Merlin, he was a genius. GENIUS I TELL YAH.

Oh, the whistle! Of course! Dot patted her robes carefully, although it was awkward while trying to keep hold of the wall with at least one hand. Finally, she pulled the whistle free and blew a loooong tweeeeeeeet on it. Handy, that. What else could it call?

One of the boxes flew lower, and Dot snagged it with her sticky glove. GOTCHA. Like this was hard.

Except... how was she supposed to get back down with only one hand? She lowered one foot and the other, but she couldn't bring herself to let go with that one hand. So now she lived here. This wall was her new home. Unless... she did something really stupid. Like let go.

Dot pulled her sticky glove loose from the wall and waited for gravity to take over.

When Olly finally had the box in his hand and got it open, it was remarkably the same as the one from the previous room had been. There was a glowing coming from the inside. The only difference was that this time there were letters instead of numbers. QWEC. Okay, but where did he have to put them to get to the next room? He climbed back down from the trap door and into the original part of the room. He crawled again, in the opposite direction of the door through which he had come in.

There was another door, and he headed that way. When he reached it, he searched for a keypad on which he could type the letters. But there was no such device. It made sense, because there would be a lot of keys if there were letters. But what was he supposed to do? Olly paused for a moment, before shrugging and deciding to try and just speak them aloud. "Q, W, E, C." Sure enough, the door swung open, and Olly went through.

Cornelius had not thought about what would happen if he landed on his feet. Sticky feet considering he still has the shoes on. Well. This was a pickle. He wobbled, flapping his arms to keep his balance and to avoid kissing the floor. His poor little self has been through a lot on his first day of Charms. First, he'd dreadfully thought he had failed a mission. Then he got the sticky glove stuck to his HAIR. He was probably missing a few ten hairs, which was sad. And now he was stuck to the ground. It wasn't like he couldn't move but it wasn't the same as walking in normal shoes.

O M M.

He was so stupid. Not really, just an expression. He was a clever lad. Cornelius shook his head at himself and smiled. He could simply take his shoes off. DUUUUUH Baltazar. Doing just that he wiggled his toes. Free. He changed into his shoes, feeling more like himself.

"I'm not afraid of heights. I just prefer to be closer to the floor. That's one of the reasons I'm so small." He was very sure his body had just decided to stay this way because it liked not being way up in the sky.

If the ceiling were higher, Jaemin might have had a problem getting through the trap door. But as it was... he managed to monkey himself on up, pulling himself through and sitting on the edge of it to look around the new room.

Flying boxes in the air, sticky shoes and gloves, students scaling the walls and whistling for the boxes like they were cruppies. This sure was a strange class... the boy stood and moved to where the shoes and things were set up, swapping his own shoes for the sticky ones. He pulled the gloves on after and pressed his palm against the wall.

When Robin said the thing about judging people by houses, the boy wrinkled his nose again. "Lots of people in the red house were throwing food at the feast. And then it rained. I had to go under the table and I didn't get to eat."

Ouuuh... sticky. He moved his hands up the wall and when they were high enough, put his feet on it as well. Spidermaaaaaaaaan.

This time around Cornelius didn't hype himself up on the contents of the box. The instructions had mentioned something about letters. He imagined a tiny parchment rolled up like in films. All fancy-like and secret-looking.

Why did he think the box would be unlocked and simple to open? Just why? The Slytherin rolled his eyes at himself. Seriously, Cornelius. You've been through this what...three times in the last hour?

Slipping his wand from his its holster he set the box on his lap. "Alohomora!" The box shook softly, then a CLICK. He'd done it!

'Course he would. BROWS.

There they were. The box was open and the letters suddenly began to glow. C-H-A-R. Char? Well ok then. If that 's what Janelle needed to say to get into the next room, so be it. Over to the door she went, ready for whatever came next.

"C-H-A-R", Janelle said and waited to gain entrance to the third room. When the door opened, she immediately went through it. On to the next adventure.

Watching as Davie drew nearer to the instructions, Callum nodded seriously. "Yeah. Should not be anything I cannot handle." There was adventure to be had in climbing up through the trapdoor, scaling the walls, catching a flying box, and returning to open it and go through to the next room. He looked forward to the challenge, and he was certain that he would feel better doing this on his own without Davie watching carefully. This way, he could do things the way he wanted without judgment or anyone watching him. He could conquer the task on his own.

It was pretty simple, really, and the lack of really using much magic made it all the less stressful. It still was not his ideal class and he was not forgiving the professor for this, but the athletic part of it was fun enough to at least put a pleasant expression on the Kettleburn's face.

"Thanks," he responded brightly to the Ravenclaw's encouragement, then gave a jump and hoisted himself up through the trapdoor above he had already opened. He probably looked a bit like a monkey clambering through the hole, but he succeeded easily, raising himself up into the upper room and taking a good look around. There were the boxes up there, yes, and Callum could not help but wonder why he could not just whistle from the floor. If they would come when the students were all the way up there, would they not come to a whistle down near the ground as well?

He was tempted to try, because he had a feeling it would work, but he wanted the opportunity to climb the wall, so he moved over to put on the sticky gloves and shoes waiting for him instead of raising a fuss. As he did so, he eyed the boxes flying up above, still half-tempted to give a whistle and see if they would fly down to him.

The curiosity was brutal.

She stuck out her tongue and wet her lips in hopes that it would help. It wasn’t like not whistling was an option, otherwise other options would have been provided. Or else not being able to whistle was the muggle-like equivalent of not being able to cast a particular spell. Either way, Olivia wasn’t about to give up and admit failure on this step. And the ones that followed since she couldn’t move on without a code from a box.

Here goes.

There was a reaction. Olivia whistled again, and this time a box actually made its way towards her. The Ravenclaw pulled a sticky hand from the wall and caught it. Securing it in her robe pocket opposite the one with the other box, she returned her hand to the wall to start heading back down.

Arista was trying her best to do the whole climb the wall thing and get a box but goodness why was it so difficult. A frown had appeared on the girl's' face the moment she started her ascent up. She moved another hand up desperately trying to get to where the boxes were because she just wanted to get down from here already even if it meant dropping down to her "death".

She moved her foot some more edging herself even higher, once she was near one of the boxes she reached a hand outwards trying to grab onto one of the boxes that was rather close to her but of course she missed it by a finger. Instead she had let go of the wall with her other hand and was no dangling by her feet, the only things that managed to stay connected to the wall, unsure if she was happy about that or not.

Sighing she made a move like she was making a sit up trying to get her hands back onto the wall. She successfully got her left hand above her toes and then getting the right took minimal effort, once back to where she was, she looked around how were the others doing it?? She moved her red hair out of her face, how did it get out of its ponytail?

They were whistling?! Suddenly a look of realization and remembrance appeared on the Gryffindor's face. That was right the Professor had wrote that if they whistled the boxes would respond.
