A long time ago, a secret corridor on the third floor led from the statue of a humpbacked witch all the way to Honeydukes in Hogsmeade. If one still knew the password that caused the witch to reveal the passageway, one might be able to convince her to move an inch or two...

But even then, the passageway is firmly blocked off and sealed. The only thing this witch is good for is they tiny hiding spot she reveals if a person can get her to budge.

Frankie was in panic mode as he frantically made his way down to the third floor in search for that secret passageway he knew led straight to Honeydukes cellar. His wide array candy that he had stashed away up in his dorm was gone (he was willing to bet his galleons that Stark or Chambers scarfed it all down), and there was no way he was going to be able to start and finish his homework the night before it was due without a major sugar rush. Sure, he could have saved some time by asking the other Gryffindors if they had any candy to spare. But it wouldn't have been the same; it wouldn't have been his candy. So sneaking off to Honeydukes was the only option. Plus he was still in the mood for procrastinating just a liiiiiiittle longer.

Now, where was that secret passageway? It was behind that old witch statue, right? The one with the humped back? The blond turned a corner ... and then another ... and, ahh, there she was! A small smile appeared on his face, his mouth already beginning to water at the thought of devouring cauldron cakes, jelly slugs, pumpkin pasties, whatever his heart desired.

That smile, however, turned into a frown when Frankie realized that he didn't remember the password. He was so close. He could easily imagine the statue sliding over and revealing the tunnel. But only a mere password was holding him back. Out of frustration, the boy kicked the side of the statue with his foot. He thought maybe, just maybe, the statue would've understood his plight and made an exception. Naturally the statue didn't budge an inch, leaving the boy standing in the corridor with a throbbing foot and a few choice words slipping out of his mouth.

Bored, he was bored. And in an effort to alleviate himself of said boredom, Zeke decided to take a casual stroll through the castle, purposefully taking random turns to extend his trip. His goal had been to find Peeves, or someone else he could maybe provoke into mischief, but what he found instead made him chuckle.

"Not trying to sweet-talk the statue into doing your bidding are you?" he asked Frankie, smirking. FYI, he'd seen. Seen the kicking, and he'd heard things too. "That's hardly the way to talk to a witch." Just saying.

Coming to stop beside his roomie, Zeke shoved his hands into his pocket and shrugged. "Sup?" Anything he could help with?

Maybe he should have thought twice about kicking the statue. But what else was he supposed to do? Besides the obvious option of returning to Gryffindor Tower to do homework without any sweets? Now that he thought of it, he supposed he could have gone down to the kitchens... but, no, it just wouldn't have been the same. There wouldn't have been the thrill of sneaking into the candy shop and returning to the castle hyped up on too much sugar.

As the pain surging through his foot gradually lessened, Frankie simply eyed the statue and tried concentrating very hard on that blasted password. Why he couldn't remember this one of all the silly passwords he had stored away in his noggin was a mystery to him. It surely was one worth being in the top five passwords to have fresh in ones mind.

His concentration was broken, not like he was getting anywhere closer to venturing off to Honeydukes, by a voice. The Gryffindor stayed very still just in case it was a professor (maybe they'd not see him if he didn't make any sudden movements), but relaxed when he saw out of the corner of his eye that it was Zeke. Phew!

Oh. Zeke had seen his, err, little tantrum. Yeah, about that... "Just trying to get to Honeydukes to restock. Pretty sure Stark or Chambers found my stash and ate everything." Plus he had homework that needed doing. But priorities, yo!

Brows arched and his lips down-turnd in a look that could only communicate how impressed he was with the theory, Zeke nod his head. "You know your stash was never really a secret though, right?" It didn't take a niffler to sniff out the wrappings, it was ripe for the taking. "You need a new stash spot." And while giving his friend this nugget of advice was all well and good, he was much more interested in his endeavour. Breaking into Honeydukes was on his own list of things to achieve during his time at the school, but even he knew this was a lost cause.

"How fond are you of bubbles?" he questioned cryptically. Because Frankie didn't know, did he? About the tunnel? Was this his first attempt?! Cause that was kinda cute. Zeke was thinking that perhaps he shouldn't have interrupted and just watched from a distance if that was the case. It wasn't even day you caught someone getting egg on their face... not that he'd want that kind of disappointment for his fellow Gryffindor.

His theory about Stark and Chambers being like thieving goblins was certainly impressive. Frankie was quite proud of his detective work, not that it was hard or anything. But the fact that Zeke revealed that his secret candy stash wasn't much of a secret made him raise an eyebrow. "You knew where it was this whole time?" Had he been helping Stark and Chambers swipe some sweets too? Frankie didn't think Zeke would have stooped down to their level, but ... if his roommate did, he wanted dungbombs as an apology!

But all of this still wasn't getting him anywhere closer to breaking into Honeydukes. Time was ticking, which meant his homework would be due even sooner. And it wasn't like he knew any Ravenclaws that would willingly do his homework for him. Or give him the silly password for this unsympathetic statue.

Maybe he should try poking the only eye it had? Hmm...

A confused expression appeared on Frankie's face when Zeke asked if he was fond of bubbles. "What to bubbles have to do with getting into Honeydukes?" The Gryffindor couldn't help but feel like he was unaware of some valuable information. He waited for Zeke to spill the beans and get to the point fast. Candy was calling him from afar.

Zeke was tempted to poke his friend in the eyebrow, there was no need to go raising it at him. He was innocent in all of this. Perfectly innocent and without blame. "And I replaced every bit I took... I'm not the enemy here," he informed, shaking his head to show his disappointment. So could they move on from this now? Yes? Because they had grander plans to hatch.

It appeared that he would be the one leading said plan hatching, seeing as Frankie was clearly clueless to their dilemma. What did bubbles have to do with it?

"Nothing much, but I'm about to burst yours." Just a little heads up, expect awful news. Zeke let the pause fall between them before continuing. "You can't get to Honeydukes from here, the passage has been blocked off, for ages now." Better men and women have tried. It was a lost cause. "We'd need to find another way." Or try to smash through the existing tunnel? Was that even possible?

The suspicious look that Frankie toward Zeke quickly diminished almost as quick as it arose. At least his roommate had the decency to replace what all he took, unlike Stark and Chambers. "Well, as long as you've replaced it, then no biggie." And that was what. No need to trick Zeke into eating some Weasley products, which was something that the Gryffindor had in mind for his other candy-sneaking roommates. That would teach them to keep the school motto in mind before they decided to steal his precious candy again.

The candy talk made Frankie's stomach quietly rumble, and in turn he looked at the statue longingly. Why did it have to be so difficult? Why couldn't it just hop to the side and let him through? All he wanted to do was ~~steal~~ borrow some candy from Honeydukes so he could finish his homework in time.

But what was that about the passage being blocked of?!

"Please tell me you're joking." The blond looked from Zeke to the statue and back to Zeke again. He wasn't joking. The passage was blocked. There was no chance of getting candy. His homework wasn't going to get done. Franklin Maxwell Paton was doomed. But there was still a glimmer of hope. "Well, got any bright ideas then?"

"You can count on me." Indeed it was no biggie, he was a good friend and all, and he knew the importance of having allies. Scratch ones back, and they'll be expected to scratch yours... at a later and more convenient date. By replacing said candy, he was demonstrating how trustworthy he was... not that he NEEDED to steal candy anyway, he had no shortage of funds and his deliveries were fairly regular.

Shrugging, Zeke returned his attention to the statue. It was ugly. He didn't like ugly.

Peering back to Frankie, because bubble popping was happening, he couldn't help but smirk. "Not joking," he managed before chuckling lightly. Frankie was behind the times? Who'd have thought it? Buuuutt, it wasn't the end of the world. Right? Bright ideas?

"Breaking out? Or getting candy?" he questioned, because each outcome had a different plan... unless the outcome was breaking out TO get candy... in which case, technically one plan. But he wasn't about the technicalities right now.

Dante still liked to come to this statue and laugh at it. He knew he was being mean and he should be a bit more mature. But still here he was laughing at this statue just like he did when he was a first year. Maybe he just needed more fun things to do when bored than make fun of things and watch people hoping they get injured.

Yeah he did now that he thinking about it.

Still he as here now and did not want to walk back to the common room.

Maybe a fun idea would come to him

If there was one thing that was unmistakable, it was the boy's stubbornness of will. Did he care he'd gotten only his millionth 'T' in Transfiguration? No more than he cared about all the 'T's he was wracking up in Charms. The boy simply would not be swayed even if it meant he couldn't be on the Yearbook.

It...it wasn't the end of the world....just the start of the end and he was a big boy so he would face it like a man. It wasn't like he couldn't keep writing on his own; a point well proven by the quill and notepad that floated along ahead of him as he made his way down the hall.

Blaise had a plan. If he told himself he didn't care long enough then it wouldn't matter.

He had no idea that he was laughing out. But it must have looked weird to see someone randomly laughing at a statue. But he was bored as whatever, he did not care. Huh, did someone just ask him a question. He turned to where he heard his name.

"Just the statue's humpback....im bored and can't think of anything else to do"

Dante said shrugging.

If Blaise had nay better ideas. Dante was all ears.

"How come you're bored if you have magic? If I could use magic I don't suspect I'd ever be bored." It was true to some extent. If his wand ever decided to work he would be sure to keep himself entertained but it never did and he didn't feel much like trying anymore.

"Bet'cha you could make the statue move like Professor York taught you guys that first lesson. There's no telling what you could get her to do after that." Was he for real? There was absolutely no way he would ever be bored with magic--if he ever learned to use it. The boy could remember all the absolutely fun times he had whenever his father used magic and could only imagine all the more fun if HE ever did so the boy shook his head adamantly; a point his quill was sure to include.

Blaise was about to further explain his plan when the older boy started on about trouble.

Did he just say The Head Boy told him. Oh, Merlin there was somebody in this school that took Zander seriously. This was a problem. That would need to be fixed soon before something bad happened. Like he followed the Head Boy's advice.

Because that was an important question. And there was the talking into and he was actually good at it.

They were meant to be practising their spells outside of class and the handbook didn't say they couldn't make things move.

Well Dante guessed some people have to listen to Zander. Just you should not take what he says to seriously. Since well it was Zander.

"Yeah, it does not mean we have to listen to what he says.....unless a Professor is near by because they care about stuff like that. But you can listen to him if you want "

Especially if he says stuff like you can stir up trouble. But sounds like he left out the fact of not getting caught. Unless he though it was obvious. Dante never really listened. But he was a slytherin so he did not really have to deal with the gryffindor Head Boy that much. So lucky him. But since Blaise was a first year and gryffindor.

"Not that i would not just talk to him, But i just don't respect him as an authority figure. So unless Headmaster or a Professor orders me to listen to him, i don't. But that is just me. I don't really trust Prefects, Head Boy/Girl at all."

But there was exceptions to every rule and Dante would leave it at that. And look at Blaise climbing up that statue. He looked like a little monkey or something.

Well he said he was ready and he looked ready. Dante looked down both ends of the corridor to see if any Professors, Groundskeepers, or people with authority at this Castle. He saw none. "Sorry, only one or i'm leaving." That was that so here we go. He pointed his wand at the statue.

Well the spell was working. So at least we was not a failure at his favorite subject. Now to watch Blaise on a living statue. He had his wand still on the statue to cancel the spell just in case something goes wrong.

Ohhhhhhhhhh!!!!

He had more questions. Naturally he did and his quill was scribbling to catch it all. "How come you don't trust them? I don't know most of them but I know Dot, she's real nice. I'd trust her. She let me use her magic telescope for Astronomy homework when I didn't know the spell." Super nice older Prefect she was. "I don't know much about Zander. Been avoiding him since Professor Airey asked him to tutor me with spells and stuff." The others he wasn't sure he knew at all to be honest.

And just listen to him being a killjoy. One or he was leaving. So lame but he'd take it because one moving statue was better than NO moving statue and the boy had already climbed up.

His grip tightened as the stone figure began to move and he let out a laugh of utter amusement. It worked! It was actually moving!

"Quick! Make it do something!" The caster got to boss it around right? "Something epic!"
