Once you've made your entrance, you can choose which table to sit at from the wide central walk space running up to the staff dais. The floor has been polished over the summer to a sheen so shiny that you can see your own appearance in it. Awesome!

Text Cut: Damien

Who CARED if he wasn't good at charms?! Evie didn't care! There were a hundred other students working on the charm together, one poor spellman wasn't going to make a difference. But if Damien went out to battle, she knew he'd come back in worse shape than he'd go out and she couldn't let that happen.

Evie noticed that Damien didn't really seem to take pleasure in taking orders from a prefect (and it was actually kinda cute the way he got all broody, heheh), but she was filled with relief when Damien finally agreed to stay in side and help with the charm. Instantly, Evie threw her arms back around Damien, ignoring the pain in her left arm from the scratch, and hugged him tight. "Thank you," she murmured. After a moment, she released him, but held onto his hand instead.

Should he call Murdoch over? Honestly, it was probably a good idea. "I dunno," she replied, absently rubbing at her arm. She did feel like crud, but there was too much going on and it was chaos and she didn't want to be a pest. She could wait until they defeated the spiders, then she and Damien could both go see the healer.

Typical of the Slytherin to stay inside where it was safe. She wasn't blaming him, obviously, because she was hiding up in here.

Aaaand there came Cutty. Evie refrained from rolling her eyes when the other Slytherin approached Caleb and made rather... interesting, image-provoking suggestions. And she tried not to think about it.

Puck stood there for a moment glancing at the different groups that she could join into. She wasn’t being rash and jumping straight into action but that was what was needed. Action. Her friends were missing. The school was depending on her, straightening her shoulder Puck moved closer to where Cutty and Caleb were standing.

Her playful smirk was more for the benefit of the little kids in the group. “Aw c'mon Cutty you know not everyone can be cunning and brave...that just wouldn't be fair” she turned a grin over to Caleb and sent him a shaky grin. “Charm the pants off of them…well the legs off of them” she winked and turned giving Marsha a grin. “Stay awesome Sha, and if you need to blast those spiders legs off kiddo. You can do it.” She grinned and began heading toward the search and rescue team.

“FOR HOGWARTS…eh?” she was acting brave for Gryffindor. Even if a part of her was shivering cowering in fear inside of a dark stronghold in her mind. She needed to face this. These creatures were going to get it. “Shelob is so going down,” she grinned and began heading toward the forest.

There was so much to take in here.. What should she do? "I'm going with Quigley!" she said to no one in particular, making up her mind without belaboring the decision. But she did make her way towards the man and was just behind him when he opened the doors. In her head she repeated the spell over and over again. Sentio Somnium. Sentio Somnium. Sentio Somnium. Sentio Somnium... She rolled her shoulders, making sure they were limber for the wand movement. There was never a more important time to make sure that her magic was potent. Focus, focus, focus...

Everyone was going off and doing their things around her, and Brooklyn stayed in her chosen position. The table gave her height, so she could almost see over the sea of heads, and it provided her a bit of a comfortable distance between herself and anyone else. Especially invisible spiders, if they were still lurking around looking to infect innocent Slytherins. Which, as she saw Cutty suddenly appearing, she continued being a bit paranoid about even s she felt better knowing at least one of the two boys who’d been there months ago was accounted for. Not that she’d ever admit worrying about them if anyone had asked. No, she was going to stay only worried about herself and her own well-being. Explaining why she had refused to move even as everyone started actively splitting off into groups, those who were staying in the Great hall supposed to go over to Professor Flamsteed.

She’d heard him call for them to. She was just ignoring the directive. As far as she was concerned, they could come to her. The table ought to hold them all. It held all the food during feasts after all. She just continued sitting right where she was, wand ready, watching as Maggie slapped Dot, as Cutty made his suggestions to Caleb, as most of the other professors chose to join Professor Dakest for the rescue team…she would have stayed there had she not suddenly found her bubble being broken into by a Hufflepuff, of all people. Having the audacity to think he could herd her like she was a sheep. Toby got a glare for that, but she finally uncurled herself from the seated position and headed over to join Dot and the others clustered around the Astronomy professor. It just was filed away in her head as another reason to dislike Hufflepuffs, along with her distrust of certain prefects who kept thinking she’d hug them. Brooklyn Andrews didn’t do hugs, and she definitely didn’t allow herself to be herded.

Looking over at Abby he nodded. "All right, just be careful and follow the directions of the adults in charge of your group!" In a normal circumstance Leo would have advised Abby to stay behind in the hall and be safe but they needed all the help they could get to fight off the spiders.

SPOILER!!: Angel

"I forgive you Angel, but you have to learn think both with your head and your heart. It's very good to be brave but not to be reckless." Leo lectured quietly. "It's admirable that you care for other people but it shouldn't mean that you have to put yourself in danger to show it." Where was Airey when you needed him? Angel needed to hear this from her own head of house. Leo watched Angel head over towards Sabel and turned to the other students.

SPOILER!!: Henric

"You're welcome Henric." Leo smiled at the badger youth. It seemed that the brace and bandages had given the boy the ability to move and flex his fingers as he needed to again. He hadn't done a poor job with administrating it then. At least something was working as it should.

"All right and your welcome Adi. If you start feeling worse then seek out Healer Tillstorm." Leo advised. He knew that he could count on the two badgers to keep an eye on each other as good friends were supposed to do.

SPOILER!!: Janelle

Leo was about to head over to where Sabel was standing when Janelle caught him, to inform him that she wanted to work on the charm. Smiling at the young eagle he said "Good Janelle, head over to Professor Quigley to get more instructions."

With Cassie currently occupied with distributing basilisk scent vials Leo made his way over to the 'search and rescue' group. Adjusting his grip on his wand Leo flashed a weak smile to his good friend Cossy. "So, you're going out to help search for and hopefully rescue our headmistress and the missing students from the forbidden forest just like I am?"

If the ministry people and hogsmeade shopkeepers could just distribute themselves in the different groups they could get moving, right?

Abby nodded and said "I will listen to everything that the adults in my group instructions and i will try to keep myself safe as i can" Abby knew that they were needing as much help as they can to drive off the spiders from the castle

Cassie had her vials and said where she was if anyone else would need some on their transfigured snake skin. She'd also give the vials to anyone going to attack if they wished to use them.

For now she turned and looked for her group. Seeing Leo, Cossy, and Sabel she made her way towards them with a big encouraging smile. "What's the plan gentlemen?" Oh there were creature people and shopkeepers as well. "Hello Cassie Morgan." Introductions were always a good thing. Seeing that some students had joined them she turned to them. "I think we need to come up with a plan before heading out. Professor Dakest you are more than experienced at these types of situations in your line of work. You probably know some tricks to get us out of here without being followed. I can help by trying to sense things coming before they do." Though she was second guessing her own gift lately, the spiders were just too grouped together to get any good information. She was still feeling very guilty for not knowing the kidnappings would happen.

She glanced around the room watching everyone going in their different directions. This was so overwhelming with emotions. She was nervous and upset, but wanted to be brave for the students.

Maddox eyed the doorway he'd just cast at suspiciously. It wasn't that he doubted it would work but rather that the man always preferred seeing the fruits of his labour to be sure they were air tight. This HAD to work. No second chances, those things were coming back.

He was glad Tanner had chosen to join them before he cast otherwise she'd be stuck walking around with the image of a large snake giving her death glares.

The Charms Professor looked to his group again, the one that was steadily getting bigger with even a member of the Ministry joining them. "Let's get the Entrance Hall taken care of. They all left the castle, I suspect this will be the way they'll re-enter; easy access, quick route, no need for hiding anymore. Listen carefully because we don't want them knowing something's up. Even though this will require imagination don't get too imaginative. Focus on making the daydream exactly like the reality of the castle, only thing we're adding is a large basilisk. Think large yellow eyes--like mine." You know...when he was a cat. Not NOW. Not the blues he sported this second.

"Don't leave any doorways or windows uncast at. No matter where they slip in, they need to be under the charm. Understand that when we run back inside we'll be caught in the daydream too. For the more faint at heart please keep in mind it's a dream, nothing more. Let's move out." And with that he proceeded further into the Entrance Hall, still cautiously glancing around and trying to catch the faintest noises with his ears.

Looky! There was his other hapy Professor! And... Mr K was hugging her... Something suddenly clicked. He remembered the man leaving her a rose once at the Feast but he hadn't thought much of it until now... Were Mr K and Cassie DATING?

The Hufflepuff tilted his head now at Bellaire. Honestly, he loved the woman, but THAT was very uncalled for. Didn't she realised persons were panicked enough already and that some of the younger ones were scared. "She doesn't mean that, Marsha.'' Nope, not going to let the Gryffindor get scared again when she was clearly relaxing now. But he knew that Bellaire could be right.

Looking at Yoongi's shocked expression, he could tell that the other guy had been unaware of the other missing students. "It's scary how those spiders could get to us, isn't it?'' Ugh! What had set them off? Something HAD to have happened unless they had all suddenly gone crazy and decided to attack for no reason.

Oh? Get the spiders lost? Adi WANTED that to happen. It would be payback for taking those persons and giving the rest of them a scare. He shifted his weight again to adjust himself more comfortably. No, he wasn't tired of holding Marsha. Aha! The Daydream Charm? Yeaaah, Adi had heard of that. And they needed volunteers! "I VOLUNTEER FOR THE SEARCH AND RESCUE!'' ]He refused to go spreading the Charm when he had just battled all those spiders and was feeling like a waste he hadn't done better to save Ilia. He hadn't been around wen Lux had been taken but Ilia... some friend he was. The sixth year looked at AJ. He wasn't going to ask what she was going to do but he did have to tell her what he thought. "I know it's up to you but I'd prefer it if you help with the Charms and stay with Marsha.'' He knew she had a thing for spiders but these were giant, evil ones and he didn't want her getting hurt even though there was also a chance that the charms group could be attacked... but not as much as the search and rescue group.

Adi craned his neck to look around at the new voice. Wasn't that one of the shopkeepers from Hogsmeade? And that was Maisie from Honeydukes. He smiled a bit in her direction. The last time they met, she had nearly chased him out of the shop because he had cracked a joke. But hey! That would explain Tanner's patronus! She had summoned help! Good! They could use all that they could get.

Catching the boy's glances in her direction, Maisie gave a small wave and wiggled her fingers in his direction. Would he like a chocolate wand?

Until a legitimate plan was made, the blond was just going to sit in the safety of the hall and think about how long it would take his father to pull him out of the school and send him off to Durmstrang.

It was a pretty significant thing for the acromantulas to have been roaming around in Hogsmeade, but it was a bigger problem that they had left the forest to ATTACK the entire school and take human hostages. Tancred had been one of the first to volunteer to provide his assistance once his boss alerted the Creatures department what was going on at the school. His three kids and the kids of his close friends were trapped there in the muck of it all, and there was no way he was going to allow them to become dinner. All he found himself doing since he heard the news was praying that neither Chloe nor the twins had been snatched by the angry arachnids.

With his team alongside him, he made his way through the grounds up to the castle, casting spells and dodging pincers and hairy legs left and right. Normally he would have taken a moment to appreciate their enormity, maybe even try having a conversation with one. But they had put the safety of his children in jeopardy, so there was no time for pleasantries. Papa bear was mad, and his cubs needed his protection.

Tancred's entry into the Great Hall was followed by a flash of blue as he repelled an incoming acromantula. He didn't even stop to watch as the eight-legged creature blasted backward. Immediately he scanned the crowd of students for his own children. His eyes first found Caleb, his twin boys, then Hayley and Chloe, Vannie's kids, and the scared faces of children that belonged to his other friends. With his wand still at the ready, the dragon commissioner followed Daphne toward one of the professors to ~~yell at them for letting this happen~~ form a plan of action.

Maisie continued to hand out her chocolate wands and let out an attention seeking sort of girlish gasp when she walked by one of the new arrivals from the Ministry.

Had he noticed her? She gave a small teasing look over her shoulder before continuing handing out chocolate.

As if he wouldn't. As if any of them wouldn't. It was obvious, but at the same time, it seemed like the only right thing to say. Needless, the man got serious props for his ability, and the fact he looked like he could cast another firestorm without breaking a sweat.

Merlin, his age was catching up to him.

Rider's voice drew his attention next, and Sabel couldn't help the smile that touched the corners of his lips. It wasn't as grim as it had been before. While his initial thought was that students shouldn't be so eager to stand on the front lines, it was impossible to deny the honesty, or the courage, of the statement.

It was impossible, not to think back to a time when he had done the same.

Reaching over, he clapped the kid on the shoulder. "Of course we are. We wouldn't be much of wizards or witches if we didn't at least try, now would we?"

What was magic for, if not for at least making the best attempt to save a life that one could. Wasn't that the very definition of magic? Something spectacular and wonderful to behold? Wasn't that the definition of life?

His gaze roamed over those gathered in the Great Hall, students and Professor's alike. His attention hinged briefly on Yoongi, offering the young man a strong nod, and moved across the group he was standing with. All students he had taught, all supporting one another and offering themselves to support Quigley's plan.

His gaze drifted over to Toby, and Flamsteed standing by as the most solid support he'd ever seen the man. A true beacon of strength, even with the rocks tucked under his arms.

Checking the doors to make sure that no legs were crawling through the cracks, Sabel made his way over to the small group of students that had offered to join in the search and rescue. Adi and Yoongi, Henric and Rider. Couldn't well say they were going to look for, and save people, if he wasn't willing to stick his own foot on that road.

A heavy hand fell on Yoongi's shoulder. "I'll cast my ballot in with the search and rescue." Along with Cassie and Leo, both of whom got a solemn nod from him.

More words might have been spoken, if a sudden rush of activity at the doors didn't snatch his attention first. Turning around, Sabel blinked in surprise. There was something about Ministry employees that made them stick out like sore thumbs, be it in the way they held themselves, spoke or demanded things. Though, mixed with the shopkeepers from Hogsmeade, they made for an interesting sight.

Some distant hope of seeing his former fellow MLEr's played at the back of his mind, but was quickly dismissed. Though one woman, the one who stopped to speak to Kate, caught a flicker of memory. He thought he recognized her, but couldn't be very sure.

Still, there was no denying, the combination were a welcome sore thumb, and earned a half-smile from him, though it was incredibly short-lived. "You lot sure know how to hustle. Sure are glad to see you, though." Sabel half-nodded, half-pointed towards the staff dias at the end of the Great Hall. "Professor Maddox Quigley is organizing direction, along with Professor Abraham Botros and a few of the others up at the front."

He wanted them out of here. But obviously that wasn't happening. Hogwarts really needed to think about emergency exit strategies for the kids when crap like this happened.

She would just hand out chocolate wands this way then.

Doing so slowly so she could listen in to what the two men were discussing, it became quite clear where she would place herself in this whole ordeal. Fluffing her curly red locks she approached the two to innocently ask, "Chocolat wand?" Complete with casual eyelash batting.

"I am also quite skilled in zee, 'ow do you say...zee concealment and defensive magic. I would like to 'elp with zee rescue, s'il vous plaît."

"You can 'ave more if you wish," she smiled at the boy, practically offering him the bag to take off her hands. She would hardly be bringing THAT out to the Forbidden Forest. It had nearly been the death of her bringing it in. "'elp pass zem out to your friends."

She almost changed her mind. Almost. But she decided to stay where she stood beside the Hogwarts professor and the Ministry official.

Blowing kisses to the group as they departed, Maisie found her stomach beginning to tie in knots as the severity of the situation hit her. Her time as a student here had been many years ago, but it did not make the sadness she suddenly felt any less intense. These poor children...seeing these horrors.

She reached into her bag and removed a chocolate wand for herself. For a bit of comfort food, you see.

From her position near the back of the hall Emerald had stood and taken in all the cacophony of voices and the plan of action. As everyone started to divide into groups the brunette, considered her options. With a last glance at her bag of pranks she made her way over to the blond professor in charge of protecting the Great Hall. "Professor Flamsteed was it? I'm here to offer you my assistance in the protection of the Great Hall and the students that are staying behind. I've got a host of pranks and even some fireworks we could use against the spiders."

To keep busy Emerald moved over to examine the cover cloth and the basilisk scent vials, never had she thought she'd need to play the part of a snake to win over spiders.

It was reasons like this that he didn't consider the candy store a natural competitor. He supported them by buying up whole batches and any sale items and they supported him by merely existing to remind everyone of the fact that sweets were out there just waiting for mouths. Also, occasionally rewarding his frequent buyer side with kick downs.

His mouth hung open in a smile for a moment before he spoke. "Merci beaucoup, Mlle Windell. That's mighty generous of yer. I'll see that they land in all the right hands." He said taking the offered chocolate wands off of her hands. He began immediately to charm a pocket in order to fit all of the wands. It was good sellable product.

Cutty heard Puck's voice and immediately turned in her direction the sarcasm of her comment lost on him. She left out a few things about his awesomeness, though. Circe, Puck. If you're going to compliment do it right. He glanced over at Evie and Damien and decided that things were where they needed to be...finally.

"Who the hell is Shelob? Hang on...Hey Efty!" He called out to Toby. "Throw me one of those fangs." He held his hand up and out in preparation of catching a basilisk took. "Trade yer a chocolate wand." Toby was the right hands.

The Charms Professor looked to his group again, the one that was steadily getting bigger with even a member of the Ministry joining them. "Let's get the Entrance Hall taken care of. They all left the castle, I suspect this will be the way they'll re-enter; easy access, quick route, no need for hiding anymore. Listen carefully because we don't want them knowing something's up. Even though this will require imagination don't get too imaginative. Focus on making the daydream exactly like the reality of the castle, only thing we're adding is a large basilisk. Think large yellow eyes--like mine." You know...when he was a cat. Not NOW. Not the blues he sported this second.

"Don't leave any doorways or windows uncast at. No matter where they slip in, they need to be under the charm. Understand that when we run back inside we'll be caught in the daydream too. For the more faint at heart please keep in mind it's a dream, nothing more. Let's move out." And with that he proceeded further into the Entrance Hall, still cautiously glancing around and trying to catch the faintest noises with his ears.

This man had seemed to be the one in charge from the beginning while everyone else was in clear panic. January was able to keep her mind clear and alert, ready for instruction. They were creating an illusion of a basilisk to scare off the acromantulas. Following the man's lead, January kept her wand at the ready and followed the lot into the entrance hall.

Cece did not like hearing that all the Slytherin students had not been accounted for. Especially those Mordaunt boys. Merlin only knew what they could be getting up to out there on their own. "Since everyone here seems to be okay here, I'll check with some of the other staff to see if they've seen Cutty and Ethan." Caleb could handle things here for a bit right?

Prefect say WHAT!?

"The Headmistress was taken? And another student?" Well that explained why Cece didn't find their leader anywhere in the hall. She was however a little relieved to hear that it was a Hufflepuff student that got taken away and not another Slytherin. Of course she wouldn't voice that out loud to anyone. "Please look after the younger students while I go talk to some of the other professors. I'll be back shortly."

Of course she didn't make it very far when she heard Echo. "You will not be going anywhere Echo, and neither will you Hady," the Slytherin Head o House told the young girls. "You will both stay here in the Great Hall, out of harms way." Honestly, what was Hady thinking offering to help out? The girl had already been attacked once, she didn't need to be attacked a second time.

And then there was Flamsteed shouting. Cece looked back to Echo and Hady. "You two head over there with Professor Flamsteed. Follow his directions for now." She would join them in a bit.

Or she would head over there right now.

"Dot, why are you rubbing your cheek like that?" She hadn't been attacked by a spider had she? Healer Murdoch placed her hand over the girl's to slowly move it from her face. She needed to see what was going on. She didn't even bother listening to what Professor Maddox was going on about. She was not going to let one of her snake babies suffer.

She couldn't very well ignore that irritating sound of Professor Morgan's voice though. Cece rolled her eyes in the direction of that nutty divination professor. Did she really think those stupid necklaces were going to do anything to help? What dream land was she living in? And there was no way the crazy was pouring anything on Cecelia Murdoch. She did not need tricks to fight off those monsters.

Seeing one of her younger students (Maggie) head over towards Professor Dakest, Cece went after her. "You'll be staying here in the Great Hall. I will not allow you to head out into that forest where you will be unprotected. You will turn around and head over to the group that Professor Flamsteed is gathering. Now!" Did she make herself clear or was she going to have to escort the child over there?

And then there was Zhenya who also wanted to head out into the great unknown. "I would prefer you stay here and help with the younger students Zhenya. Leave the rescuing to the professors and the professionals from the ministry." Yes of course she was old enough to volunteer, but that still did not mean Cece wanted her to go. Again, she did not want any of her snakes heading out to their DEATH!

Back over with Flamsteed, Cece was glad to see another young Slytherin (Brooklyn) join them. Honestly though, Healer Murdoch did not see what the problem was with some of the younger students staying near their prefect. Caleb had things well under control over at their table. She gave a quick glare towards Toby. The pufferkid better be careful or he just might find himself on the wrong end of an angry snake.

Hearing Cutty call out for one of those stupid fang necklaces, Cece gave him a you've got to be kidding me look. He did not seriously think that thing was going to be of any real use to him did he? And he better not even be considering heading outside. She was not going to allow it. And where the heck was Ethan? She wanted all her snakes accounted for.

Now the others were moving out, Toby could get a decent view of exactly who was remaining behind in the hall, and it turned out to be a lot more people than he'd expected. He liked to believe that was good... less people in danger, more people safe, but then just HOW MANY people would be going out there?

He watched the groups start to move out, keeping an eye on a particular few people and not looking away until they were completely out of his sight. No matter what, though, he still terribly ill about the entire matter... especially when he caught another glimpse of those dead acromantulas just through the Hall doors. Oh, Merlin. He couldn't even think straight; he just wanted everyone to get back and be okay.

But when he turned his head back to face the others assembled, Toby got one look at the glare he was receiving from Healer Murdoch, he took on a whole new line of thinking. Mainly one of confusion, because that was the second glare he was receiving in as many minutes. The first had been from the third year, Brooklyn, of course, and now the Healer? Why? What... had he... had he done something wrong?

Toby started to chew at his lip, confused as well as totally emotionally drained and walking a thin like between 'holding it together' and 'full-scale psychological meltdown'. Instead of saying anything, though, he just shrank back a little, stepping back and away from the glare. He would have apologised too, but... y'know... didn't want to risk bursting into tears ~~again~~.

But he WAS perfectly capable of helping Cutty out and, after separating one of the basilisk fang necklaces from the rest, he tossed it across to the sixth year Slytherin with a small, but lowkey forced, smile. Toby wasn't greatly concerned about receiving any sort of sweets in return, of course. Because he was HELPING. Right? Though maybe not according to the Healer, what with that look he'd got from here.

Toby... took a little step back and out of the way. He'd just be... over here. Yeah. *wibble*

No sooner had he declared to the ministry members that the younger, smaller students would be good asset in securing the castle, than his words were challenged and his resolve to instill them put to the test. AJ, Valentine, Maggie and even Henric. Sabel considered the children, all of them, from the third years up to the seventh years and let out a breath.

Cece was quick to dash the hopes of both Maggie and Zhenya, and Sabel wasn't about to start anything with her. Her snakes, her responsibility. He would leave that choice up to the Healer. Still, he leaned over to whisper to both Maggie and Zhenya. "I believe you'll both have bigger problems than the spiders if you don't listen. Best interest in mind, on all accounts, you'd best stay here. And stay safe." Goodness knew none of them wanted her to have student injuries on her hands, let alone young students. Which left the other four.

Henric he had already promised. There was little he could do there. That, and the kid had seen his classmate get dragged away, and neither himself nor Javy had been able to stop it. "Henric, you jump when we say jump. Run when we say run. Scratch that. All of you will. Each and every one. This isn't a game. This isn't heroics. No one here is a hero, will be a hero. Do you understand?"

Because for some reason, children had this wild idea that they could be heroes. It was fast understood by adults that there were no such things. Just people being people. Trying their best. Which brought him to the younger students of the bunch.

"AJ, I think Marsha would greatly appreciate having someone she trusts with her. She is your responsibility. Do you understand? You will do the most good, staying here and keeping her safe." Given that Adi had already declined staying behind, and was the older of the two. Not to mention, Sabel thought he recalled something about the pair being a couple. A fact that could have dire consequences in the field. He fixed her with a hopeful, yet meaningful look. "Please. We need somewhere safe to come back to. And I'm trusting you...the both of you," his gaze flicked to Marsha, "to make sure we have it."

As for Valentine, Sabel couldn't deny the enthusiasm was there, but in that there was that misconception he was worried about. Squatting down so that he could be eye level with the girl, Sabel shook his head slowly. "I've got volunteers enough, Valentine. Though you are very brave to offer. I think, perhaps, you would make a good snake though. You certainly have the willpower, and the imagination. Keep Hogwarts safe for us, so we can get back."

And without waiting for further argument, Sabel pushed himself to his feet, looking around at the group. Morduant got a serious side eye, especially at the tail end of the words he had thrown out, but nothing more than that. "Sophie, Adi, Benzi, Yoongi, Cutty, Henric. You're with me." A group which was presently joined by Cassie, Culloden, Leo and one of the shopkeepers, Maisie. Her offer of a chocolate wand, got a raised eyebrow.

"I'll pass on the chocolate, thanks. But we could certainly use another real wand."

The Professor's got a solemn nod of greeting, and Cosgrach a moment of extra-long consideration. His mood became even more stressed when Cassie suggested that he lead the group. Some of the waning fatigue from casting the firestorm came back, and he hoped he didn't look paler for it. Should he mention he couldn't even find Scotty or the hippogriff? How were they supposed to find the students on top of an acromantula attack?

It sounded downright impossible. It probably was downright impossible. But the students couldn't know that. He couldn't show it. Instead, he managed a small smile. "I appreciate, the vote of confidence."

And then, the idea struck him like a two-by-four upside the head, Benzi's question rattling around with glaring clarity. "Admittedly, I don't know a great deal about acromantulas, when it comes to tracking them or where they build their homes or take their...." food "prizes." He turned to Cole, all traces of the smile disappearing. "I believe that would be your area of expertise."

If it wasn't, they were in serious trouble.

"If you, and some of your team, could guide us to where the acromantulas are likely to be gathering, where they have likely brought the others, that would be greatly appreciated." Understatement of the year, but there it was.

He turned to Cassie, Leo and Culloden, thoughts tumbling through his mind in overwhelming succession. "Cassie, that would be excellent. Cosgrach, Leo, Maise...I'll need your aim," and apparently the potion master's foul mood, "to help keep the acromantulas that do decide to show up, off our backs."

As for the students, he turned again to them again. "As for the rest of you, I think a buddy system would be the safest." A quick glance about and the pairings were made. "Benzi and Cutty, pair up. Sophie and Henric. Adi and Yoongi." His gaze went back to the Professors. "There are enough of us to stick with a pair, and then a few extras to keep a good perimeter."

As for rules and obligations? It was a fairly simple game plan. "Stick beside your buddy. Do not let anything happen to your buddy. You are responsible for each other. And for yourselves. No one is to rush out. No one is to play hero. We'll use the cover of the daydream charm as a distraction to sneak out of Hogwarts, past the acromantulas and to the age line. Once there, Cassie, Cosgrach and Leo, I'll need your help in making a hole in it so we can get through. Once in the forest, immobilize any acromantula that thinks to take a whiff of us. But the quieter the better. We want to come unnannounced. Unseen if possible. Maisie, if you've got any disillusionment spells up your sleeves, that would be a great time to employ them."

A breath, a hope that all the young ears would all take this to heart. "The acromantulas might not be fooled by our efforts to slip by. Some will likely take notice. We can try a blanket disillusionment charm to cover the lot of us, but there is no guarantee the acromantulas still won't be able to smell us. So keep alert. Keep your wands at the ready. And be prepared for the worst. And keep in mind we will likely have acros at our heads, as well as at our backs if the daydream charm goes right."

Should have been worded as when the charm DOES go right, but some details weren't as pressing as others. "When we find those that have been captured, the Professors and Ministry will work on keeping the acromantula's at bay, and student pairs should focus on freeing and organizing those that have been taken. Help the injured, make sure no one panics or bolts. We need calm heads and hard hearts."

His gaze moved around the group, holding each pair of eyes in turn. "Everyone good with this?"

Damn right they would have bigger problems than the spiders. Cecelia Murdoch was not about to let any of the students she was responsible for head out into what could only be assumed as their pending death. She had seen first hand last term what those damn arachnids could do to a student. To one of HER students.

WAIT ONE MINUTE THERE!

Mordaunt was NOT going to be a part of this suicide mission. Not on her watch he wasn't. She didn't care what Dakest told him. The boy was staying right there in the Great Hall with her!

"You'll do no such think Cutty Mordaunt," the Slytherin Head of House said as she grabbed the boy by the arm and pulled him out of the group. "You will be staying right here in the Great Hall helping Caleb." Heck, he could go around giving them all those damn chocolate wands if he wanted to. Just as long as he stayed IN the Great Hall.

"Sorry Professor Dakest, but I can't allow any of my students to go out there." In fact she would like to stop ALL students from going out there, but she couldn't because she wasn't their head of house. Oh well, their bloodshed wouldn't be on her hands.

*Sitting down Noah looked on at all the chaos with a pout. Yes, he was pouting. Why? Because he wasn't allowed to go fight the dumb spiders. When they had asked for students to help Noah got right in the que for the search and rescue. He knew the woods by his house, they were full of magical creatures so how hard could the forest outside the school grounds be? He also wanted a pice of those spiders. They had killed a friend of his last year. Not to mention he knew a lot of battle spells for someone of his young age, and he could fight with out his wand. Give him a bow and arrow or knives and he could take care of those eight legged monsters. But the second an older student saw him and his size Noah was laughed out of line and on to a bench. They told him he was too young to go fight. If only they knew what he was capable of, but his father wouldn't allow it.

Emma saw this and ran over to say something to her twin but quickly backed away when he gave a mean glare. So there he sat, alone, mad, and wishing he could do more. He watched as the school healer argued that none of the snakes should go out there. Looks like he wouldn't be getting her blessing for the battle.

He had walked in the hall with Daisy but the two quickly got separated when they had to check in with their heads of house. At least he knew that Emma and Daisy were safe. He still wasn't sure why he had to make sure that Daisy was okay. He shrugged it off and went back to watching the students and staff freaking out.*

Yoongi was listening intently, trying to absorb every word that Professor Dakest was saying. It was strangely comforting to him and the more he listened the more his expression changed from wide-eyed fear to calm determination. Perhaps it was the fact that they had a plan now rather than just standing here not knowing what to do. A lot of things could go wrong with the plan though, but Yoongi trusted them, all of them, even the shopkeeper offering chocolate wands….eh?

As the teams for the students were made, Yoongi looked at his buddy Adi and grinned a bit at him. Out of all these students, he liked Adi the best. They weren’t friends exactly but he liked the Hufflepuff Prefect for saying hello to him every now and then. Plus he had left him at the Entrance Hall earlier…to get help…but still..he had left him… This would be a good time to make it up for as he was determined to not leave again unless he was told so by Professor Dakest.

So the plan was to have the students freeing the captured ones while the adults protected them? Well, he liked that… he’d rather be protected than be a protector. The Gryffindor took a deep calming breath when the Professor asked if it was good for everyone and when he met his eyes he nodded his head once.

They could do this!

Actually, one last thing......."Good luck." To the search and rescue team.

She PROMISED?

Maggie didn't quite understand how Healer Murdoch could PROMISE that. But then again it seemed like she didn't have a choice. Plus, she trusted that her Head of House had her own survival in mind too and SHE was staying in here as well. So it probably wasn't such a bad idea.

She wasn't going to talk back anymore. That is until she felt like the Healer was treating her VERY MUCH like a little child. Which she wasn't. Even though she did sometimes act like a helpless damsel in distress. Now was not one of those moments. This was real. This was about life and death. Her own survival.

"I'm not scared." She raised her head a little and gave her Head of House a blank stare. Her heart was racing but not necessarily out of fear. Yes, she was worried. But not scared. At least not right now. "And I'm not a child." With that said, Maggie moved back to where Professor Flamsteed was. That was where they were supposed to stay, right? With all the younger students. And those having panic attacks.

If the acromantulas did make it past the adults they didn't stand a chance in here.

Her gaze had been sweeping around the Great Hall non-stop since the second she'd stepped foot inside. Where in the name of everything was that gosh darn Lion?! Clearly he was around somewhere for she knew that but she had yet to lay her sights on him and well it was starting to really unnerve her. Just a glimpse of him would set her mind at ease here and make it much easier to focus on whatever else she needed to.

The Slytherin was listening though. To everyone. She was very much aware of what was happening around her, who was doing what and going where. She also heard Echo and gave the girls shoulder a small comforting squeeze. "Yeah, you'll see. They'll find them all and everything will be okay." Clearly she wasn't lying here cause that's exactly how it was going to happen. No ends, ifs or buts about it. Hady wasn't excepting anything less. Especially if her bestie was anywhere where she couldn't see him and ensure he was alright.

And then that happened. Her Head of House heard her. Not just her though, Echo as well. There went the idea of keeping busy and helping out. What was she supposed to do now? Just stand around? Letting out a small sigh of frustration at not being able to go with the search and rescue group Hady nodded her head in reluctant agreement. "Yes Healer Murdoch. Is there something I can do to help though, if I'm not able to go out there?" Anything really? Just something to keep herself from going insane...

Ready to help with the search and rescue, her flame had been swamped by her Head of House. Perhaps the only person right here who would be able to stop her from going.
"Can I... help you with the injured, if any come back?" she asked the healer. She was keen to help treat wounds, wash pans, that sort of thing. Anything. Surely there would be grazed knees or acromantula attacks before, during or after the rescue? "If you need another pair of hands that is."

A small smile cracked on Zhenya's disappointed face, and she nodded to the Defence professor. Of course she would be safe. "I'll do whatever I can from... in here," she said, looking around the Great Hall. Perhaps that wouldn't be much but it would be something. No point arguing with the adults who are looking out for the students.

Henric stood at attention when Professor Dakest spoke to him. He understood what he was saying to them, he wouldn't try anything foolish that could endanger their lives and safety.Henric knew the importance of listening to orders, he always had even during his martial arts training back home. No matter how much he wanted to get rid of the spiders, his first instinct was to protect and defend. Henric nodded, saluting with his good hand,"Yes Sir! We will!"

He turned around to the rest of the group, he wouldn't blame them if they were to back out now. And AJ, he knew how much she wanted to join them in the search and rescue team but the young Marsha needed someone close to her. He also knew how muchAdi cared for her from the way he tried to convince her, he rarely heard Adi in his serious tone. But ultimately it was the professor's decision. Henric felt responsible for everyone in the group, he needed their reasssurance if they were really going to do this. Dakest told them they should partner up as well, his buddy was to be Sophie Brown, a seventh year who happened to be Tobias bestfriend too. Would she be able to do this? No matter what, they would still need to back each other up for the daunting task ahead. "Sophie, I'm Henric...I'm maybe a fouth year and my arm is in bandage right now, but you can count on me, Sophie, " Yup..quick introduction ..y'know..just in case.

When the school healer came to stop them...Henric's face fell once more. His whole body starting to get anxious every minute past by staying here.They needed to go now! Someone please... assured her that they were going to come out alive! He was certain they could defeat the spiders if more of them were involved in the rescue. He turned to his DADA professor, "Professor Dakest...we need to go and find them,please I have to come...I just have to, llia's still out there,our friends and headmistress are still out there...I'm capable with defensive spells! Please, professor!"Henric pleaded.
