| | |  Gobstones Preliminary Match: Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
 The building used for the Gobstones matches had had its doors closed against the early autumn morning chill. Its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Tanner and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's second preliminary match.
The blue and green marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.
OOC: Remember only members sorted into Ravenclaw and Slytherin Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping.
Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again for potential updates and changes.

This time, both houses changed players to roll for them. The Snakes chose third year Jenna Hensley. Ravenclaw was having trouble deciding, but they chose Prefect Sophie Brown over TiaMarie Mancini in the end. This time around the result was different; Ravenclaw's roll just edged out Slytherin's. "Two points for the eagles," she said, recording the result. "Last question of the round."

The eagles sent out prefect Sophie Brown and the snakes Zhenya Burton. The two girls swung their shooters and kicked at their stones. The green stone circled a series of obstacles before it knocked head first into a new one, the collision causing it to stop. The blue stone surpassed it's opponent and a 3 more obstacles before it too stopped to claim the points.

Seventh year Eden McGee stepped in for the eagle side and took her shot. It was a decent shot, landing about 6 inches from the goal. However, it seemed Slytherin was being indecisive. It was sixth year versus seventh year in the last roll of the round and the match. Slytherin's Mordaunt went first, his stone landing about three inches from the goal. McGee's stone started off solidly, but began to slow too soon. It inched up close to the green gobstone and came to rest barely touching it. Both stones shot a steady stream of smelly gob into McGee's face.
"Points to Slytherin!" Tiara announced. But even the great last rol couldn't turn the tide. "That's the last roll. Ravenclaw wins, 18 to 12! And an excellently played match on both sides, might I add." The previous match had been far more lopsided. "Well done, and thank you all for coming out, both players and fans alike. Now off to homework and studying, everyone!" she said with a smile. That was likely the last thing they wanted to do.
