More people got waves as they arrives, and soon Professor Millard was here, levitating a viney looking plant. "Hello, Professor!" He seemed out of breath and she got bad vied about the plant; it looked to be dangerous and she remembered dangerous plants being mentioned in the previous lesson.

Lux would be staying away from that thing if she could help it.

Raising her hand, she offered a guess as to what the plant could be. "I'm with Caleb on this one. It has the active vines of the Venomous Tentacula and seems to be quite dangerous." Yep.

"Hi!" That had been TOBY to DOT when the Slytherin had walked in. And so many others got grins and waves and double thumbs up as the sixth year bounced away in his place. Merlin, this was a good day. YEP. Now for some Herbology to make it a GREAT DAY.

Aaaaaaaaaand here's Millard! HERBOLOGY TIME.

OKAYOKAYOKAYBOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCE.

Oh man. The plant. Toby knew this. He knew that he knew it. But he didn't know it. His brain wasn't cooperating today, it just wanted more fidgeting and stuff. Uh. OKAY. He raised his hand.

"Venomous Tentacular? ... It'll getcha!" That was his extra fact, see? He could TELL by looking that it was the kind of plant to GETCHA.

“Pleased to meet you Henric.” Ethan replied and yawned lazily. “Ho-huum…sorry ‘bout that mate.” He added as he let himself lean on Zander, and placed his head on his fellow fifth year’s shoulder. “Tired? You can say that again…” Another yawn escaped from his mouth, making his eyes water. “Wait until you get to fifth year…” Ethan’s eyes were about to shut close when he heard Professor Millard enter.

Ethan immediately sat up straight on his seat, and forced himself to wake up by hitting the side of his head. Surely, he can’t fall asleep now.


Right. Dangerous plant. What are they supposed to do with it exactly this time? Extract its thorns? Probably for Potions? Likely. Ethan mulled over Millard’s question, as he too listened to his classmates’ answers…Venomous Tentacula? Probably. But thorny vines! That’s a clue! “Is it a provoked Snargaluff, professor? It’s supposed to look like a dead lump of wood when not disturbed.”

Merlin. If it was indeed a Snargaluff then…will they be retrieving its pods??? Ethan glanced at Zander quickly as the thought crossed his mind. Yep. It’s best to partner up with a Gryffindor just in case…

As Kace was sitting next to Emmy, he saw the Professor walking in with a weird looking plant. He tilted his head and was quite confused. He remembered seeing that plant before. He snaked his hand and intertwined his with Emmy's. He smiled towards her and didn't care for a little PDA. As he was hearing the other student's answers and Kace agreed. He raised his hand to give his input.

"Professor I agree with the others and it looks like a Venomous Tentacula!" I mean it had the thorns and the arms were flailing around. I mean if he was wrong so what. That is why he was here.

Zhenya hadn't been there long when Professor Millard arrived, levitating a plant that looked vaguely familiar towards the front of the class, and lowering it onto a table.

A special plant… yes, probably but very scary too. Zhenya resisted the urge to take a few steps back, but she knew she was safe. Well, she was pretty sure she was. She thought deep and hard about it for a moment before remembering what it reminded her of. She was almost certain anyway, but perhaps wrong. She raised her hand and waited to be called upon, then said "Professor I think that's a venomous tentacular? And," a fact? "Their leaves are very valuable I hear."

Henric chuckled." He's funny,"he thought. He didn't want to imagine what fifth year would be like. Tons of homework, he bet. Being a third year himself, he already had his hands full with his own assignments. Sometimes he wished he could lie on his bed all day too."Its fine, yeah..no worries..."he replied with a smile.

When the professor came in, he brought along a plant. A dangerous looking plant he might add. Henric stared in awe,"Woah..."he expressed with delight. When the professor asked the class what the plant called, he remained silent because he had no idea what that plant was. Good thing, Ethan had an answer to give. He probably knew about the plant more than him.

'Venomous!"he thought. On the second thought, he better not get to close with that plant.

Dot actually wasn't sure what that extremely deadly looking plant was, and really, she'd much rather keep waving at and being waved back by Toby. That Boy. Not that she would dream of disrupting Herbology, except she did dream of it a little, and waved back to Toby under her workstation.

Hiiii.

"I'm not sure what that is, sir, but it looks very dangerous and I'm exceedingly glad I wore my gloves today. Does it eat mostly first year boys? Because they're the smallest, you know?"

Was Zhenya daydreaming? Adi had not failed to notice her slightly startled reaction. But she did make him laugh with her reply. "Funny.'' But yeah... they were up there. LOL. "I'm awesome as always.'' Except when he was sleepy. Being sleepy was NOT awesome, man. "We haven't hung out in a while.'' That might be Adi's fault with all the studying and such. He also did not best the guy bestie's arrival. Poor forlorn Dragon. Adi patted him on the shoulder. Don't let Bellair get cha down, Benny!

Of course the lesson HAD to begin at the moment when Adi was about to say something to Benny. The Hufflepuff shot the other boy an encouraging grin before turning his attention to Professor Groundskeeper and his plant on display.

"Venomous Tentacula?'' Adi suggested and raising his hand. "Uh... if it is a Venomous Tentacula, it is usually found worldwide.'' Mhmm.

Zander wasn't feeling all too talkative and it had everything nothing to do with the fact that his RPer had to write this post four different times after it kept getting deleted. Ahem. So he just gave sleepyboy!Ethan a small smile in understanding. Been there, done that. Actually still there, still that. Luckily being in his favorite class helped him keep sort of awake, except under this false facade he was exhausted ahem.

He nodded at the "Hufflepuff Dude", but let Ethan take care of introductions. Nailed them, by the way. Couldn't have done it any better himself.

And now for claaaaaass. Well, thorns meant a bunch of things. Could always be the Snargaluff, like Ethan said. BUT there was the more fun option that everyone else had mentioned. Zander didn't want to just go with majority buuuuuut come on, the Tentacula would be AWESOME. "If it's the Tentacula, they're super poisonous and their thrones are pretty fatal." Just sayin'. Also, could they work with them up close? 'Cause he was curious.

Norah eyed the plant with one eyebrow raised. It was pretty darn COOL, no doubt about it. She continued to watch the plant's vines moving as a small smile spread across her face 'cause didja see that? That was why Herbolgy was the coolest thing.

Oh. There was a question, wasn't there. A little late, the third year put a hand in the air. "It looks like venemous tentacula, which is, y'know, venemous. Like everybody else said, I guess." That had to be right...right?

As the Professor walked in with the levitated plant in front of him Hady's eyes were mainly focused on the flailing vines. That was some uh active plant right there huh? Would they be working with this plant today? Cause if they were some type of precautions would have to be taken...

The first question asked by the Professor was already being answered by so many of her fellow mates that the second year didn't feel it was needed to answer. No point in everyone just saying the same things over and over again especially when she agreed with what they were saying. So keeping quiet it was, her eyes still on the plant however as she waited to hear more about it.

Archie clapped his hands together so that everyone would be paying attention. "In case anyone didn't hear Mr Mordaunt's superb answer, the plant we are working with today is called a Snargaluff. Obviously, very similar to the Venemous Tentacula, but a bit less dangerous." Some students would appreciate that, he hoped. And not bored..... "The Snargaluff is best handled with more than one person, so today we will be working in pairs for the first activity." More on that in a second. "Beneath the dangerous, thorn-covered vines, there are green pulsating pods about the size of a grapefruit."

"Today we will be extracting these pods. I have enough at the back of the greenhouse for you guys to use." He would levitate those towards them all very soon. Archie paused, suddenly realising how scary this activity was going to be. For him.

"Now, listen to how we will do this." He got behind the demonstrator Snargaluff and pulled up his gloves. "One person from the pair will handle the vines. Gloves on, obviously. You must tie the vines into a knot..." He did so, making sure his face wasn't getting too close as well. "... and then hold them securely so that they don't wriggle free." He did that, too. "This reveals a hole big enough for the second person of the pair to reach into and grab the pods." Archie didn't demonstrate that part, as it was just him up there. It was pretty self-explanatory, though.

Archie let go of the vines and allowed them to wriggle free. "Quite easy if you are focused. Place your pods into the bowls provided. I would like you all to produce TWO pods each. You may take it in turns with who holds the vines..." Etc...

"If there aren't any questions," Probably. These students liked those. "Find a partner and begin! I'll be here always to watch over." As it was dangerous. Archie went to the back of the classroom and levitated a Snargaluff plant towards each pair as they began finding each other.

OOC: Oh golly, sorry this post is so long! I hope it isn't confusing. I'll summarize here want Archie wants.

This requires at least 3 posts each. 6 in total for the pair. You will have just over 24 hours.

So it wasn't a Venemous Tentacula? Huh. It seemed that a lot of people had given that guess so she and Caleb hadn't been the only ones.

Snargaluff sounded like an odd plant name, but at least they were less dangerous than the Venemous Tentacula. This was a good thing when they were required to extract giant pods from them. That didn't sound so nice, but activities were always fun and it seemed to be pretty straightforward partner work.

"Anyone want to work with me?" Yes? Please?

Hugh wasn't even gonna beat around the bush here. He was not paying attention. At all.

He had been otherwise distracted for the past few months...learning how to expand his mind in ways that his peers tiny minds could not comprehend. For no fault of their own. Like, for real, he just GOT IT. Life. It's secrets.

So....he assumed this class was talking about plants. He was in Herbology right? Right.

And since everyone was partnering up- in his ONE MOMENT OF CLARITY- he decided to try and find a partner and then regroup. Things would get explained to him later, yo. He was sure of it.

So he had been wrong with the plant's identification. Benny gave it another, more focused look once the professor gave up its true identity and could admit that he saw what he might have missed before. A snargaluff indeed. Not exactly something that was nice to deal with, even moreso without a wand as back-up. But they would be dealing with ones of their own for the lesson's activity, with partners to work with at least.

Hearing Lux looking for a partner, Benny almost offered himself but then thought against it. If they worked together and something happened where he needed to use a wand and couldn't, how would he explain that to her? He realized it was probably best if he kept to one of his closer friends, glancing to see what Adi, Angel and AJ all were. His eyes met Angel's in the process and figured he could manage with her, even if his best friend was the only one who knew of his wandless status.

"Partners?"

Angel smiled. "Sure!" Angel then thought about something, they might need their wand especially if something went wrong. Angel took out her wand. "You going to take out your wand in case we need them later?" Angel asked her boyfriend, she was a bit upset that he hadn't thought about it earlier, if anything went wrong she wanted a back-up plan.

Angel now wanted to know more about snargaluff, she decided that she would look it up later because it would be totally awesome and very interesting, now she had to decide which sort of plants she wanted to work with when she was older, maybe the Herbology Professor could help her decide one day, she would have to visit the office one day. "When you have your wand out, you can decide who does what." Angel beamed.

Good...good. Angel was on board with working with him. Except what she said next brought him up short, Would he take out his wand in case of danger? They were supposed to bring their wands to all classes so they had it if needed.

"I don't have my wand," Benny added in clarification of his dilema. Did that mean he couldn't decide which one of them did what? He could manage the harder task he supposed, dealing with it without magic. And she could grab the pod and cast spells in the plant if it got particularly troublesome for him. "But I can be the one to tie and distract the snargaluff."

Angel looked at Benny, as he said he couldn't get his wand out, that was great then wasn't it. "What do you mean you don't have your wand?" Angel sighed. "You lost it?" Angel decided to ask. "Or has someone taken it?" Because if that was the case Angel was totally going to go and jinx whoever it was. "Want me to use my wand to find it?" Angel giggled, she could use Accio right, that would work.

"That would be great." Angel smiled. "I would love too see if I could grab the pot and it might be best for me to do that." Angel now had a few things that she had to do before she grabbed the pot because at the minute the name of the plant was totally scaring her and she didn't want anyone especially her boyfriend getting hurt by the plant.

Toby didn't mind at ALL that he'd been wrong, whereas usually he might have been totally torn up about it. His brain just wasn't about all that today, SO Y'KNOW. He didn't mind. Just BOUNCED and tried to listen but... yes... mostly bounced.

ALRIIIIIIGHT. An activity already! Toby GRINNED SUPER WIDE and looked around for someone to pair up with. And not too far off, there was someone, asking for a partner. Lux! They were TOTES PALS, right?

"I will!" the sixth year replied enthusiastically, raising his hand and waving it about. PICK MEEEEEE. Man, he was READY to WRESTLE with some VINES.

He saw the look sent his way, and then the further questions sent his way. Benny couldn't help but sigh in response first and foremost. "It was taken from me." Could that be enough, at least for now. He'd be free to go into more detail once they were outside class. "And that won't work...so just leave it...please" The fifth year doubted where ever Bellaire kept his wand it was easily summoned. Or that she wouldn't stop the process if and when she noticed it going on.

Benny turned back to look at their personal snargaluff plant, silently wishing the focus to go back to the activity at hand. At the troublesome thorny vines that guarded the treasured pods that they needed to collect. That he needed to take care of on his own. He slipped on his dragon-hide gloves which would help him grab the vines and protect his hands, he just hoped his robes helped his arms.

Prepared as best he could be, he inched towards the snargaluff, chosing to come up from the side and almost behind in hopes to surprise his target. Benny then suddenly grabbed at two vines, one in each hand and fought against their fighting to tie them. When they were semi-secure, he moved onto the next batch, wary of those who tried to get at him in response to his actions.

Yeah, AJ would have never guessed that answer, but she wasn't too bothered by it. The professor went on to tell them what they had to do. Now this sounded exciting. This was right down AJ's alley because plants weren't really her thing, but danger was. The lion hated being bored, and there was no way that she would be in this lesson.

The venomous tentacula was TOO dangerous for this class, but the Snargaluff pod wasn't? Caleb felt that was a bit contradictory, but whatever. He knew all about Venomous Tentacula and absolutely nothing about Snargaluff pods, so this was perfect studying for OWLs!

Except he needed a partner. UGH. Why were they ALWAYS partnering up?

He spotted a young Gryffindor girl - one of those twins, or triplets, who could keep up really? - and figured she was as good a partner as any. "I'll partner with you," he told her with a smile. Yes, partner up so he could get this done with as quickly as possible...

So the note-taking thing? Total fail, particularly when it came down to this subject which required much more practical knowledge. Why Herbology was a required class, Tia will never know because she was pretty sure something like Muggle Studies or Rune knowledge could go further.

Sigh.

And what had Millard said? Extracting pods? Could she use this method to extract the pimple that had sprouted overnight on her nose? Because she was fairly sure that was more essential than Snargaluff pods.

Oh they were working with partners. Except like she failed at the game of finding a partner. Caleb was alright, but ... he already got one. And that Lux girl always seemed to get a partner quickly; probably because from her opinion the girl was uber smart.

Couldn't she just like use her wand to tie the plant vines and do this herself? Cause yea.

Huh. A partner activity already? Normally there were some more notes involved and-- wait. Not that he was complaining in any way whatsoever. Zander preferred the activities. PFT. Notetaking was the boring stuff. activities were always the best parts of lessons, really the only reason why he ever bothered showing up in the first place. Not that he'd actually skip because he needed to pass his OWLs and-- Uh, what was the point here again? Uh. Right. The activity.

He needed a partner!

The Fifth Year immediately looked over to Ethan, but as he did so he noticed TiaMarie out of the corner of his eye. Looked like she didn't have a partner yet? Huh. So instead of asking Ethan to partner up-- which for the record, he was totally planning to-- he sent the Slytherin a small nod over to the Hufflepuff that he did the introduction stuff with earlier in the lesson. TiaMarie had mentioned something about not having tons of people to talk to or anything, so you know. Ahem. That's totally what was going on here. "I think I might work with my friend, TiaMarie if that's okay?"

He gave the boys a small smile hoping that the two of them would work together or something. Ahem. Now, the Ravenclaw. He walked over to her with a goofy grin, "Wanna be my partner?" Please?

Tia had been mentally working out the logistics of partnering with herself ... she had nearly worked it out too but then without warning, she was interrupted! Ugh. Probably Millard coming over to scold her for her feeble attempts to be her own partner. Only she hadn't actually physically done anything yet, so unless he was a secret legilmens there was no way he would know.

Only it wasn't Millard. Goofy grin. She knew that face. That smile.

"Hey." She whispered. "Do you even have to ask?"

Now, step one, find a partner was figured out. Glancing up at the instructions and then back to Zander and then to the plant, she nodded. "So I should probably tie the vines cause I think it'll be easier for me to do that..." Cause like, she totally had smaller hands. Slipping her gloves on, she bit her lower lip, hoping he was okay with extracting the pod.
