Cartographers Club: Meeting One

Maybe Abbi had never been a Picasso when it came to art, but you know she could draw somewhat further than a stick-man. That had ought to mean something for a meeting like this, did it not? Supposedly, she would have to see as well as see if the whole cartography vibe actually suited her. She'd give it a try, because *what* did she have to loose? ABSOLUTELY NADA. The fifth year made her way, the house tables flashing past and eventually the door to the hidden room too. She entered. PLUSHY CUSHIONS!!!! No. She would not loose her cool over this. Just cushions....PLUSHY CUSHIONS. Oh heck, she didn't care about cool, not cool. Those were PLUSHY CUSHIONS. Did people get that by now? *PLOMP* She allowed herself a bounce as she landed on one. So was she actually first for a change? Where was everyone? She expected to see a Paris and a Donny here. They were the arty-farty people she knew; but hey others would come too. |
Dante was interested or maybe intrigued by this Cartographer Thing. He knew had something to do with maps. But that was about it. He was bored and had nothing else to do. The squishy, plush cushions were nice. But free food would be better. But he was here and he might as well learn something. The second year flopped onto a cushion and waited for the show to start. Though he still do not know who was running this shindig. Shindig. Now that was a fun word. Like Shenanigans. |
When Lux saw the notice for a Cartographers Club on the Hufflepuff noticeboard, she just knew she HAD to attend. Exploring was a lot of fun, and Hogwarts was a big place to explore. She knew that because she had done so many times over the last few years. Map making, she wasn't familiar with in the slightest, but that was the fun in it! She would be learning something new and she'd tell Bay about it later. Entering the room, she was surprised to see that hardly anyone was there. But look, Abbi!! "Hey!" she greeted her friend cheerfully before plopping down on a cushion beside her. Hopefully loads more people would arrive soon. |
When the notice had went up for a new club Benny had been curious as to what they would be doing exactly. He had deduced the involvement of maps in their meeting, or at least had looked it up. But even still there was a lot on uncertainty as to the extent they would be used. The professors and staff and student leaders surely had a large amount of creativity when they came up with stuff to happen around the school. His curiousity had got the better of him, so near the time they were to meet, the Gryffindor headed down to the Great Hall and through the doorway to the attached room. He was alone save for a fellow fifth year lion, a younger Slytherin and Lux and the fluffy cushions that were spread out across the stone floor for more comfortable seating. "Hey..." Ben greeted the room simply as he walked around to find his own cushion, lowering himself down upon it. |
Abbi & Lux ^_^ Cartogrpher's Club? Well, why not? It's not like she has many better things to do Glancing around the room, Bambi spotted Abbi sitting on the cushions and grinned. "Hi!" she greeted, and plomped down beside her friend. Because they were friends now. Mmhm. Totally. And there was someone else here too. "Oh, hello, I'm Bambi," she said to the girl (Lux). |
Well, this was different. The announcement had had Gabriel from the word 'map'...and it was new to Hogwarts as a club, yes? Nothing like it had been attempted in all the years of it's existence...that he'd read. Naturally, Gabe had done his homework, as he liked to do. It was sure to have quite a turnout...with newness being a factor. Of course, not many people had arrived yet but it was early, still. In his robes pockets, empty potion vials clinked together, but Gabe didn't mind for people to know they were there. If they were going to traipse around the castle, it was a safe bet he'd find some potions ingredients. A stray bug...or plant...random hairs... It was better to be prepared, you see. Taking a random cushion. he peered around at people. People watching ftw. |
So... Cartography. What did Adi know about it? Not much beside the fact that it dealt with maps. Well, this meeting should enlighten him a bit more, right? Stepping into the room off the Great Hall, Adi waved at the people gathered there which included Lux, Dante and Gabe. Hiiiii, guys! Of course he didn't forget about Benny. Benny got a grin, a happy Hufflepuff plopped down on the cushion beside him and a greeting. "Hi!'' This was one of those rare moments when Benny beat him to a gathering. |
Just like that, she didn't have the room all to herself and her PLUSHY cushions. At first some second year walked in, she watched him with a half smile for a moment. To think she was that small, once upon a time. There was a plonk number two, HELLO LUX. Abs beamed her common beam. "Haaaai, this is gonna be interesting, I rate?" What did Lux think then? AND OMG HELLO BAMBI. Her head titled to her other side as the other plushy cushion became occupied. "Hey Speedy." Beams were given to her too. "This is Lux." Just to help the introduction some. Also was that, that Gabe guy. Well okay let's just all stare at the classroom? Was she supposed to say hello to him? She had a conflicting mind on that matter. |
Kace heard about the Cartographers club on the Puffers notice board. He thought this class was gonna be soo cool. He was interested because he wanted to make maps. I mean a treasure map would be even cooler but regular maps will do too. He didn't see the Professor running this club yet so he walked around and noticed Lux was there. No shocker there because him and Lux were interested in the same things. "Hey Lux fancy meeting you here.." he grinned and plopped down on the bean bags. Man these things were really comfy. He wondered who was running this club. "Do you know who the head of this club is?" he asked Lux. |
Toby had always loved exploring the castle; since his first year he'd been so bouncy and hyper and unwilling to sit still and that always led to wandering around to get a good look at the castle. Also, exploring and adventuring were some of the first things he and Soph had done when they decided to be best friends. So it was the association with good things that led Toby here today, rather than any longstanding interest in cartography (though he figured it would be super fun to learn about that too, because NEW THINGS!) Another part of the appeal was the possibility of hanging out with others at the club meeting and maybe even making some new friends. As soon as Toby arrived at the room off the great hall, he found himself peering around to see who else had showed up. Mostly people he sort of knew, or at least knew of, so far. Ooooh, Gabriel was here, though! Toby flashed the Ravenclaw prefect a smile when he saw him, waved, and wandered on over to flop onto one of the squishy cushions near him. Hi friend. Ooh, these cushions WERE comfy. |
Abby had heard about the cartographers club and was interested which was why she was here seeing some of her friends she sat down on a free cushon while waiting for the meeting to start |
A new club. Eden didn't know anything about maps. Nothing. And she wasn't even very good at geography. So why did she come to this? New. Cool. Shiny. Different. Friends. FUN. Were all of those reasons good enough? Yeah? The brunette plopped down on one of the cushions and settled. She saw a few friendly faces...and waved at most of...like Toby, Lux....Abbi and Abby--wow. Both Abb names. Interesting. She shot a VERY threatening glare at the one and only Gabriel Banner and didn't bother to say anything to him. Jerkjerkefehrifhiugheigh. Cough. She would do her best not to look at him throughout this. Needless to say, the Irish girl wasn't happy with her prefect. |
Ruby had spotted some of her friends disappearing into this room so naturally she went and followed and.... ... oh no! This looked like a school related activity! And the only cute boys in here were taken, or related! STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. Could she leave without drawing attention to herself? What were they all even doing in here? |
Okay in all honesty, he wasn't here for the maps. Actually, he was here for everything but the maps. Okay okay okay. He was really here for the part of the poster that said something about exploring the castle. That's all he really cared for. Exploring Hogwarts was one of the BESTEST parts of going to the school and even though he was a Fifth Year now, there were loads of places he had never gone to before. Like the forbidden forrest. Could they do that? AHEM. Zander made his way into the room and looked around noticing a couple of friends who all got smiles sent there way. Yeah, yeah. Talking to you Benny, Adi, Lux, Eden, Abi, etc etc etc. Yeah. Except Kevin wasn't here. And neither was Sophie Brown (though she'd probably sit with Tobriarson so it didn't really matter anyways). And Puck, Cinna, and Emmy hadn't arrived yet... So uh, all on his own then. Yup. He was just gonna sit here on the lonely side of the room, eyeing the door in search of friends. Mhm. Hi yes hello, friends who don't have other friends to sit with come hither please. |
So Kate knew nothing about making maps, but she did see the notice for this, and she did want to explore Hogwarts! She was new to the school, so what better way to figure things out than this club! She made her way into the room and looked around. Just the students were here so far, she thought. There were cushions around the room, so she bee-lined for an empty one and got herself comfortable. Alright, Hogwarts. Kate Addison here...ready to explore! |
Well this club sounded interesting... Really it did. Anything remotely artsy caught the fifth years eyes. Always. She loves art... The art of making maps, yes. Plus the poster made the club seem interesting. This was probably the closest to a art club as she was going to get. Oh and the exploring sounded fun, too. Of course it did. She made her way into the room... There was Lux talking to Abbi so yeah no. Definitely not going over there. Kace was there, but no Emmy. Bo . She waved at Kace, though. She dodged quickly so Lux wouldn't see her. Ugh who to hang around. No Eden? Aegis? Bart? Puck? Dot? Nope none of them were there yet. But she spotted a Zander. "Hey Zander. So is this going to be interesting or what?" She grinned and flopped down beside him. |

This club seemed like SUCH a fun idea really. Not the maps, those were probably drool worthy in their boringness no, just no. She was here for the adventure for the fact that it would be fun to adventure and really explore Hogwarts…she’d not done any of that last term really at all. Oh heeeeey there were a lot of people there. She grinned and waved when she spotted Lux, Abby…she grinned at everyone really including both of the Banners. She had to remember to catch up with Ruby and Grayson sometime and compliment them on their recent Halloween costumes. Still…as she looked around the room trying to find friends to sit with she couldn’t help but let a dopey grin fall into place as she spotted Zander eying the door. Dopey grin in place she practically skipped over to the Prefect in crime and sat down next to him her leg almost touching him close to him…but this wasn’t unheard of right? It was Puck. Daring. Flirtatious. Courageous Puck. “Hey! You beat me here” she laughed and reached into her robe pocket and felt around for the little box. “Here,” she grinned as she pulled out the chocolate frog box and plopped it on his lap. "Hey Cinna, hey EMMY!" Puck looked up and grinned at her friends. |
So what was this? Another Class or something, All Aegis saw was Abbi, Cinna, Eden, and Lux walk in as well as a nice looking Slytherin Girl (Ruby). Gotta introduce himself to her later, maybe. She seemed just as lost as he did following all the beauties into this room. Maybe he could, help her out later if there was some partnering up to do...Brilliant Aegis... He gave each of the girls a smug smile. Maybe more for Cinna than others, but no one could really tell how smug his smirks were, let alone if they could measure his smugness. AH Hey Look Prefect Zander! This Class may have gotten even better. The Blonde took a plush cushion for himself directly beside the Lion Leader Boy, and smirked more of an evil grin at him "Heeeeeey, Zander." Aegis spoke Maliciously to him |
The Charms Professor was here. He might not have been as early as he The Professor leaned against the wall in the back, deciding it best not to draw any attention to himself. He was here, sure, but that didn't mean he wanted an announcement made of it. That was grounds for things going wrong and when people SAW you, it was hard to slip back out of the room and pretend you saw nothing. See the problem? He wasn't here. |
Looking around the room she noticed Kace, she was about to say something to him but then she stopped herself because he was talking to Lux. Apart if Emmylou wanted to drag Kace over to her and Cinna but that would cause a scene and she wasn't one for wanting to cause a scene and she also wasn't the jealous type, it was more to the point that it looked like Kace really didn't want to talk to Lux more that Emmylou's issues with Lux. She knew if Kace didn't want to talk to someone and this was one of those times. |
The children probably didn't know this, but their Headmistress had been QUITE the wanderer in her younger and child-less years. She and Ethan had spent every summer outdoors, sleeping in a What was even better was when the adventure had purpose. And this adventure-within-an-adventure? Here at Hogwarts? Yes, it had a purpose. And yes, she WAS here to help supervise this club. Why not get the students going on something educational and vocational. The woman strode into the room just off the Great Hall, took a look around from her vantage point by the door, and nodded firmly. Good. They had a good turnout so far. "Quigley," she greeted the Charms professor as she brushed by him to go to the head of the room. "Glad you could make it." As he should. |
More people were coming in, and that made Lux happy. Maybe the meeting would start soon at this rate so she could know who the leader was and what exactly they would be doing. We're snacks involved? Because they always made meetings better. "Hey!" she said in response to Benny, figuring that he was probably waiting for Adi to arrive. Surely that would be soon because she'd be amazed if her Puff buddy didn't show for this... And speak of the devil, he just walked in. A little weird, but she sent Adi a smile and a wave before being distracted by a girl who introduced herself as Bambi. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lux!" she said just before Abbi could finish getting the introduction in. Oops. Hehe. "Oh, yes! I am excited to learn about maps. Do you know anything about maps?" she asked her friend curiously. It was no surprise to see Kace at this, since they seemed to share a lot of interests. "Hey! I have no idea," she admitted. "I take it you don't know either?" It was kept a mystery as far as she knew, which was rather strange. She didn't get much time to dwell on it when Zander and Eden entered the room one after the other. Haaaaai. Enthusiastic waves to them both. And was it her, or had Cinna just arrived as well before taking a seat somewhere else? Curiously she raised her brow and figured Cinna didn't want to be seated by Abbi which was perfectly understandable. She sent her bestie a wave, hoping that it would be noticed and returned. Emmy didn't get a wave, however. In fact Lux looked away when she walked in and sat beside Cinna. Look at her, she was a pro at this ignoring thing. Puck and Aegis got friendly waves. She did notice Professor Quigley enter the room as well, but since he seemed not to want attention drawn to himself at that moment she waited to say hello to him. And now the Headmistress had arrived too, and she got a smile. |
Was Marigold interested in cartography??? ... Well, she had never really thought about it. It wasn't the most obvious career choice in the world and such, so her mind had never even considered it. But hey, she wasn't going to close opportunities before they even started, was she? The answer was no. Oh look, Ruby! "Hey, Ruuuuuuuubez," she said, smiling and plopping down on a squishy cushion. Squish. |
She’d seen the notice. Brooklyn hadn’t exactly cared about the notice, but when she’d seen Professor Quigley disappearing into the room, and then the headmistress, she’d followed. She wasn’t about to let others be able to tell a story when she couldn’t. There was no way she’d be left behind. A queen was never left behind, unless there was a good reason. There wasn’t a good reason here, and therefore, she was going to find out what was going on. At the very least, it should be interesting. Maybe not as interesting as Westeros, but still interesting. Slipping inside right behind the headmistress, she looked around at the others who were inside. There should have been more Slytherins, in her opinion, just for their awesomeness. She saw Ruby and Dante, though. It was a start, and finally she stopped over near Kate. Not a Slytherin, but still kind of cool. She would do, if nobody else decided to wander in. Either way, the small redhead stayed quiet, observing. |

She asked pleadingly and glanced over to the two. After all she didn't want to give up her seat. |
Would you look at that, Professor Q had shown up. Dante smiled and waved at him. Probably will jut ignore him but that is fine. And whoa look who also showed up, the Headmistress. Guess she was running this shindig with the way she was dressed. The only question Dante had was, Is Professor Q going to be like their guide cat and show them where to go. It could be fun if that is what was going to happen. Plus Professor Q could totally do it. If the Headmistress told him to. It was the Headmistress, after all. This should be more fun then Dante first thought. |
Norah poked her head into the room juuuust to make sure she was in the right place. Looking around, she took a step inside and was met with the view of a bazillion and five people she knew. Hiiii everyone HI. The third year waved at EVERYBODY, beaming at Mari and Adi individually 'cause they were COOL and prefects so respect 'n things. She knew all about that. Marching up to the front, she sat down all front and center on a SUPERSQUISHYCUSHIONWHAAAT. WOAH. Giving a little bounce, Norah grinned to herself for OBVIOUS bouncy reasons and then looked back up at the Headmistress and Mr. Cat Man Professor Dude, waiting for the EXPLORATION to start. Yeah, and maps 'n stuff but EXPLORING was the most important part. |
This Cartographers Club had her at 'Cartographers.' MAPS. Do you know what maps lead to? Adventures! So without a second thought, Beverly Wayne made her way toward the Great Hall. She had a collection of maps, including Jeremiah's map-flowers he'd made for her a few years ago. If you wanted to make a Beverly Wayne swoon, give her map-flowers. Proven fact. She was collecting them for a great big adventure after graduation. *_____* Entering the classroom, she first gazed inside to see if any of the professors would introduce the subject, but she only saw the Headmistress and Professor Quigley. Polite nods were sent their way before she flopped into one of the soft cushions. That's when she spotted Ruby and Marisol, all of who received small smiles. More smile practicing. It was working. Sniff. |
Exploration! That sounded like exactly the thing Hayden was interested in. She felt like her entire first year had been devoted to exploring the castle, and she still couldn't claim to know where everything was. Not even close. That was why she was there, because she liked to explore not necessarily because she liked to make maps. She had made a map, not a good one but a map nonetheless, so that she would get lost less. That had been her goal, at least. She entered the room with a smile on her face and looked around for a friend to sit by. She saw professor cat and the headmistress and she panicked because she thought she was late. But no, it looked like they had just gotten there ahead of time. The meeting hadn't started yet. Good. Hayden sighed in relief and went to claim one of the cushions as her own. She sat near Kate and Norah, and smiled in greeting at each of them. |
Margo needed to make new friends. She needed to get her head out of school mode and having some fun. She was getting so frustrated and tired with everything that was going on. When she had heard about this club she thought she would give it a whirl. Who knows maybe she would be good at it. If she didn't like it Margo would just bow out. Seeing Adi across the room Margo waved, wasn't sure he if he saw or not, but then went to sit on a crushion a little way away from everyone, waiting to see what would happen. |
There was a CLUB about MAPS? Did that mean if they made a map the club room would show up on it? Kyroh wasn't sure. But he wanted to find out. He also wanted to find out what kind of maps were being made because if it was like maps for treasures he was definitely in. The third year slipped into the room and quickly started to look around for people he knew. Maybe he needed a map to find them too??? |
HE WAS HERE! HE WAS HERE! Zeke was panting, and his hair was dishevelled as he bounced through the doors to the room off the Great Hall. HE WAS HERE!!! DON'T START WITHOUT HIM! It had taken him some time in getting ready, because he decided to bring the maps of what he'd done so far - though he was sure that he wanted to start again - and of course his compass... which didn't work inside the Castle or its grounds... boo... but still, it was a tool that he always had to have on him. Nevertheless, he was HEREEEEE! Standing a little way inside the room, Zeke took a moment to catch his breath and right himself, fix his hair. He was good. Good and rearing to go. |
Seeing the notice on the board a few days earlier about the new club Hady knew then and there that she wanted to give it a try. That's why she was here today and making her way down the hall. As she reached the door off the great hall she slipped inside without a sound. Scanning the room quickly she spotted many of her friends already. This was pretty awesome that so many had shown up. Moving deeper into the room she found an empty cushion and plopped herself down into it. Now all that was needed was to wait and see what they would be doing. Chewing on her bottom lip and twirling a bit of hair around her finger Hady tried to contain her excitement. |

Tia wasn't sold on the idea of a club that involved no doubt, adventure, but she did know that she needed some more in her life and it seemed like everyone was headed this way so the fourth year just followed. Entering the room, her brown eyes searched for someone to sit near and fell on the Gryffindor Prefect but then it seemed like everyone was headed towards his corner. Sigh. Instead she turned on her heel and chose a cushion near the front. She needed to pay extra attention because who knew when this stuff would become useful? |
Sooo new club? David was up for that. Clubs sounded more fun than classes generally, so he was gonna be a part of this even if he had to do some kinda work or whatever. Maybe maps were fun anyway. He'd never done much with them before, so it wasn't like he knew one way or the other. But anyway, he was here. Aaand he decided to sit by Ruby. Or at least he would if she was sitting and not just standing there looking pretty. Though that was nice. "Hey," he greeted with a grin. "Looking for a seat?" |
Cilla entered the room. She was very intrigued about the concept of the Cartographers Club. She found a cushion and sat down. She looked around the room and saw that word of the club must've spread quickly as there was quite the number of students. It was also interesting that there was the Headmistress and Charms Professor. |

It looked sort of dashing, with the strings tucked up under her plait, and Dot posed expectantly in the doorway. Disappointing. No other pirates in sight. She hopped over to plop down on the same cushion as Kyroh, laying her head briefly on his shoulder to let him know she was there. "Maaaaaps, Ky." |
Mapmaking was something Evie hadn't ever considered before, but when the opportunity arose, she decided to go for it. She was always excited about learning something new. So, when the time came Evie hurried down to the room off the great hall so she could learn about this Cartography thing. There were surprisingly a lot of people there, so she filed in and found a seat, waiting for the meeting to get started. She saw a few familiar faces around her, but there was one or two in particular she had hoped to see. She didn't see them, though. Oh well. Perhaps she would make more friends in this adventure. |
So a club about maps? Sounded kinda weird to be honest. Grayson strolled into the room, his hands stuffed into his pockets and an air of cool about him. This WAS gonna be interesting, wasn't it? Because he could be doing other things right about now: like eating or hanging out or just procrastinating in general. And he was all up for adventures, if THAT's what this whole map thing was gonna lead to. Besides, it'd be a useful skill to have, wouldn't it? Imagine if he was stuck in the woods with no Ravenclaw around? Exactly. So, he was here. And the Headmistress and Quigley were here too? Interesting. Just....... interesting. He shot both of them a nod in greeting before moving further into the room. A room full of people some of whom he knew and actually cared about. 'Sup nods for all of you. And Dante. Dante was gonna get his company today. What a lucky guy. "'Sup, Dante," he said, sitting down on a cushion next to him. How good was this one at reading maps? HMMMM? |
Sophie's motivation for most things had been squashed for various reasons, but a club like THIS was too good to pass up. It was instinctive for her to gravitate toward Tobes as soon as she entered, and even though he was by Gabe, it didn't even matter - she needed to be by her adventuring buddy. This club felt like it was made for them, really. MAPS AND STUFF? WAY COOL. Hopping onto the empty cushion beside the Hufflepuff, she gave him a delighted nudge and crossed her legs under her, eyes eagerly darting around the room and taking in all the faces present. Exciiiiiiiting. |
He wasn't sure what he was doing here. Dima had mostly shown up for map club because he knew Kyroh and Dot were, but once he saw Quigley? Oh, yeah. This SO was not the place for him. Squishing onto the same cushion as Dot and Kyroh (not exactly easy, jsut saying), the third year observed the turnout of kids. Huh. Lots of people were interested in maps, apparently. Maybe it would be cool; definitely involved some artistic skills, which Dima had. Not... enough brains though. But that could be amended, 'cause his friends were the SMARTEST. Still staring at the door because friends friends friiiieeends. Cinnnnnnnaaa! Well, that didn't take long at all! The Gryffindor gave her a big grin as she made her way over to a cushion next to him. Running a hand through his hair, the boy laughed a little at the question she posed. Was this going to be interesting or what. Ha. "Dear Merlin, I hope so.... But if not, you uh... You've always got me?" He could be interesting? Maybe. And just as he was going to ask another weird 'club-meeting-hasn't-started-so-let's-be-awkward' question, someone else came over to their little area. OH Emmy! "Hey, EmmyLou." She got a huge grin too. Maybe all the Gryffindor girls just decided to show up at once? And sit next to him... Eh. Who even knew. And then he heard someone else plop down on his other side and he turned his head only to be face to face with his CoPrefect in crime. "Yeah, I reckon I did.... Exploring the castle? I had to be early for this, you know... Um, save us some spots?" It totally wasn't because he was actually kind of excited to go exploring. Okay, maybe a little. AKLSDFJAKLDFJ!!! A chocolate frog?! "You brought this for me? Merlin they're my favorite, thanks Puck!" And was it just him or was she sitting incredibly close? Actually, he didn't even mind. Kinda nice actually. Until she heard what Emmy had said, “Emmy you are amazing really?” She grinned and stretched because her legs. Puck stretched some more and then turned when she heard Zander talking, que lopsided grins…because hello? Did he see that? She’d just free’d herself from… “I can’t wait to go exploring,” she grinned and shifted some more…hello Emmy’s coushin it was going to happen. Yep. Soon. After her leg wasn’t all tingly. “Yeah, keep it…I’ve got loads more incase Toddles shows up” She grinned because she’d heard about the other chocolates and since had been keeping some stuffed in her pockets just in case…when Zander mentioned that she had been sitting there she sort of awkward flushed a bit because yep she had. “Oh me?” Puck grinned, “I’m fine,” she chuckled and stood up as she stretched again… “I am going to go give Emmy a hug though,” she grinned…and borrow her seat because she liked her yes? Emmy was one of her dorm mates and well she NEEDED to get to know her better. As predicted, the room started really filling up not long after he'd arrived...and Gabe just continued to look around. He wasn't much of a talker. When people waved, though, he returned the favor; cheeks flushing just a little. He wouldn't be himself if his face didn't resemble a tomato. ...and he seen Eden glaring at him. Gabe could only guess that she'd talked to Clara about happenings, which was bleeding annoying for a multitude of reasons. He'd been clear and didn't want to be bothered by additional girls. However, given the hostility, Gabe did tense accordingly. SPOILER!!: Toby! When Toby sat nearby, the tension left. Thankfully. Gabe liked Toby a bunch. Toby was a good egg. In fact, he even smiled at the Hufflepuff just a little. ....and Sophie Brown was suddenly there with Toby. Gabe was always resigned to acknowledge her presence since she was the girlfriend's best friend. It felt like some strange obligation. "Toby. Sophie Brown." Just so they knew he'd seen them and whatnot. He shifted on his cushion, causing the vials to clink some more. . . Alright, well, she'd waited around enough and if the others hadn't showed by now.... maybe they would come in once Anastasia got the club going. The Headmistress stepped up to the front of the room and cleared her throat importantly. "Welcome, welcome, everyone, to the first-ever meeting of the Hogwarts Cartographer Club." She paused to beam around at the assembled students, and her smile slowly began to falter as she noticed a few unruly ones. Were those two Gryffindors SITTING ON each other?! Hold BOLD. And RUDE. Annie made swiping motions at the pair (Aegis and Puck). They'd better get their own cushions if they knew what was good for them. Anyway. "Yes, this is a club for making maps. Have you ever wandered the third-floor corridor, confused as to what all the rooms REALLY are? Ever stumbled upon a spare office and considered its purpose? Did you know that there were once secret passageways to Hogsmeade, and even the Shrieking Shack?" Well, DID THEY KNOW? "This year, I am pleased to announce that Hogwarts will be entering into a dynamic, groundbreaking, long-term project with an esteemed cartographer. Although our school has been around for THOUSANDS of years, there is much that we don't know about it." They hadn't even known about an enchanted fairy-tale book sitting in the dusty library all those years. "Those of you present at this meeting will have the opportunity to CONTRIBUTE to our mapmaking project, which will be published at the end of the year after all our efforts have been documented. Dungeons! Conscious of the fact that he was standing around awkwardly still, Zeke quickly shoved his way to the front of the room - elbows out - and sat himself on a free cushion, he wanted to be UP CLOSE to alllllllll of the ACTION. Dungeons <3 Secret passages! Hady knew there were several but most had been blocked off years and years before during the war. Her father told her about it all and how her birth parents would always explore the castle every chance they had. Now it was her turn! Her turn to find something and make her parents that much more proud of her. And what better way to start then where her house was. There was no doubt in her mind she wanted to work with those going into the Dungeons. So when the Headmistress gave the orders to break up into groups Hady was on her feet in a second. Now where was she supposed to stand? Glancing around she spotted Zeke calling out about the Dungeons which made her laugh. Making her way to her she lightly bumped his side with a small grin. "Dungeons hmm? A little bit curious as to where the snakes hangout?" Hady teased quietly in a whisper. |
Dungeons (Lion Leaders, and Zeke at the End) Not Bold just Stupid Oh! Ah! There was someone under him! He was so fixated on being a nuisance to Zander he had not realized his folly! The tall blonde was about to jump up and apologize to the lovely Lion Prefect but she jut managed to move out from under him and sat beside him on the plush cushion. "Sorry Puck. Your beauty blinded me. I couldn't see past it." he then swung an arm around her and listened in to what the Headmistress had to say about this Club Oh COOL! Dungeons, Aegis was definitely exploring the Dungeons!! He had scheduled a Tour with Damien in the Forbidden Forest, but if he could find something new and cool at a place like the Dungeons wouldn't that equal out to whatever he and Damien might find in the Forest. First Floooooor ^_^ It seemed like practically the entire school had gathered for this meeting which was totally awesome! The more the merrier. Adi grinned and waved to Norah and Margo as he spotted them. It was nice to see the Head and Professor Maddox too. Buuut moments later they were getting started. Adi straightened up. Time for the excitement! Oh. they'd be splitting up? Of course... there were loads of students here. Adi turned to Benny. "The first floor would be okay with you, right?" The Kitchens were much too close to home for him. Anyway, he was sure Benny wouldn't mind. He could always tell him if he wanted another one of the places the Headmistress listed. "Who else is up for the first floor?'' he called loud enough for persons close to him to hear. |
Ground Floor! Everyone fell silent as the Headmistress began speaking...and Gabe could FEEL his excitement growing. Not from an 'exploration' standpoint but because they were going to be learning the ins and outs of the castle. He'd read about another map that a group of Gryffindors had pieced together, called the Marauder's Map. Looking to the group of Gryffindors now, like that Aegis person and Puck Greyvson...it was just hard to believe it'd been Gryffindors to put such a brilliant map together. It didn't add up. ...but Gabe was keeping it to himself. Also, he appreciated they were going to take this a little at a time...AND that it was going to be a year-long project. Something else to look forward to, amid all the homework and studying...and awkward Prefect patrols. Seeing people already claiming floors, Gabriel slowly stood and glanced around. Ground Floor Norah tried not to open her mouth all big when the Headmistress described described the club's task, but EXPLORING, they were going to do it! She thought for a moment about where she might want to go, 'cause there was a lot you had to think about when it came to exploring, y'know. Like what would happen if her stomach got rumbly and she wanted a snack? She had a chocolate frog waiting in her pocket but STILL, snacks were important to consider. The third year pushed herself up from the cushion after one last bounce and SQUISH! And made her way over to wear that Ravenclaw prefect (Gabe!) was standing. The ground floor guy, right? There was a little door on that floor that she had always wondered about, so even if it was just a broom closet or something it would STILL be exciting 'cause there could be all worts of stuff in a broom closet! Like a hidden cat! OR A UNICORN. "Can I work with you?" she asked, once she had reached the older boy. If he was a Ravenclaw AND a prefect he was BOUND to be the smartest person in the entire universe, just like Jasmine had seemed to her. He didn't talk very loudly though. Norah could teach him how to do THAT if he wanted, uh huh. |
First Floor (mention of Adi and Benny) Excited to get started, Lux eagerly listened as the Headmistress explained what they would be doing in this club. It sounded more amazing than she had even hoped and of course she would stick with it even if she'd probably collapse from exhaustion by the end of term. There were a few options of where to start, and obviously the kitchen was her favourite place in the school, but she decided to choose another area. Hearing Adi ask if there were any other people up to exploring the First Floor, she made her way over to him and Benny. "I'm game!" she said while sending both boys a smile. She had a feeling that Benny would be going along with what Adi did since they were inseparable. |
KITCHENS! (joooooin us because FOOD) The Gryffindor turned a nice shade of pink at the mention of the Toddles thing. Ahem. So uh, you've heard about that Puck. Merlin, things really did travel all too quickly in this castle. Maybe new undiscovered places were even more necessary than he had thought. Yeah. And when Aegis tried pulling the moves on Puck. Ugh. If there was any other fifth year boy that Zander disliked just as much as Bart... It'd be Aegis. The two of them. Merlin. Zander had to bite his lip just to keep from saying anything at all. Though, he couldn't suppress the cough. Ahem. OOPS. COUGH COUGH COUGH. Ugh. Nuisance. This kid was one. And FINALLY the meeting was all officially started and they were going to split up into groups and you know which group Zander was going to join? NOT THE DUNGEONS THAT'S WHICH. It had been his first thought actually because he really didn't get down there all too often being a Gryffindor up in the seventh floor, who also made a point to avoid Professor Culloden when at all possible. So yeah. He would have wanted to head down there, but seeing as a certain annoying lion was going there. Noooope. Maybe another Prefect would join them to keep him in check or a Professor. Maybe catman could go put the boy in his place. But yeah, no Zander was going to head to the next best place. The Kitchens. Because there was food there and he liked food just as much as exploring. And maybe more. Turning to his friends around him, the Gryffindor stood up from his own cushion. "I'm going to explore the kitchens." Aegis not invited. And with that he walked over to the corner. |
Annie and Quigley mostly Cosgrach knew what this was about, so he allowed himself to be fashionably late. He knew more or less what Annie would tell, but he was respectable enough to listen from outside the door and wait until she finished her speech. Once he thought sheas done, he slipped inside. He smiled at her and Quigley, then he made his way to them. Which one was the dungeons corner now? They'd better be obedient students. |
Ground floor! This was the PERFECT time for Evie to come to Hogwarts. This was basically the exploring-and-note-taking club and she couldn't think of anything better. Evie was nearly bouncing in her seat by the time the Headmistress finished her spiel. Then she jumped up off her seat and tried to quickly decide which floor she wanted to investigate. The dungeons sounded fun, but there were already a lot of people gathering over there. She settled for the Ground Floor. It just seemed like a good choice. Ground floor HISTORY. They were making HISTORY. Could you believe that? The ravenclaw buzzed with excitement, lit up like a christmas tree as the headmistress went through her speech. As she finished, and her voice lowered, CB could feel the excitement growing around the room and that was enough to double her own excitement. She considered where she wanted to explore, but as she was doing that, the groups were already forming. Instead of actually really sincerely thinking about what might be the best for exploring, Coral didn't hesitate in joining the ground floor group, her feet carrying her there before she had even mentally made the decision. There was a Gabe there, an Evie, and a Norah. She couldn't go wrong. "Hi," she greeted. "Isn't this exciting?" |
Dungeons ^^ Cartographers club. Not exactly his style but it also meant that he could explore the castle. Not to mention that maybe they were going to get in to rooms that had been locked up by advanced magic and Kevin so wanted to know what were in those rooms. As he joined the others in the room off the great hall he stood a little further away from the rest, not really sure of what to do. Plus Zander was all the way over there with other people and he didn't feel like talking to him at the moment. It wasn't like he needed to be around him ALL the time. After the Headmistress had done her little speech and they could choose their locations, Kevin decided to go with the dungeon group. "Which one is the dungeon group?!" he called out. |

Thorberrrrt waaaaaaas here! He entered after a man. The man didn't try to steal his spotlight, how nice of him! Thorbert gave him a second to settle, then entered with a smile that almost literally showed all his teeth. "Your LOVELY Headmistress told you already." He turned and bowed at her and the other two man by her exaggeratedly. "We'll be working together aaaaall teeeerm!" WERE THEY EXCITED? "I'm Thornbert Kenting. I brought you goodies." He snuck both of his hands in his pockets and wiggled a little like a small kid. Except, there was nothing small about this man. "Herrrre you go!" He placed four different colors of soft pencils and notebooks on the only table in the room. "I got a few simple rules: No quills! Everyone use these pencils pleez. And every floor a different color! Dungeons: Green. Kitchen level: Yellow. Ground floor: Grey. First floor: Purple." He clapped his hands once and smiiiiiiled. Look at all the bright faces! This would be fuuuuuuuun. |
Ground floor ppl This was all sounding pretty cool so far, exploring and finding out secrets and exploring and adventure. And, more than anything, contributing and helping out. Toby could handle that, he loved to help, and he gave Soph, who had sat beside him, a nudge back at all the most interesting bits Truebridge was saying. And theeeeeen, GROUPS. As soon as they were prompted, Toby looked around him to see where everyone else was going. He was, of course, sat right near Gabriel, so that made the choice obvious. "I'm with you guys," the sixth yeah said quickly, scrambling to his feet and mainly addressing Gabe who was surrounded by girls. Toby might even have slung an arm around the prefect's shoulders in a gesture of friendship if he wasn't pretty sure it would have made him uncomfortable or something (which would NOT be cool on Toby's part, and very unfun for Gabe). So he smiled at him instead. "If that's okay?" Everyone else in the group were people he knew at least by name so far. "Hi." More smiles for the others and a wave for CB too. Toby turned his head to see if Soph was joining this group with him, as it had himself AND CB in it, which seemed like an option she'd find appealing. Not that he was big-headed or anything, Soph was just usually quite vocal about her best friends, okay? Oh. OH. New person. Telling them things. With a smile so big too, holy cow. Toby had already decided, right there and then, that he liked this guy. Okay, so... ground floor was grey? First Floor SPOILER!!: Adi, Lex, Cartographer So the headmistress was the one leading this little gathering of mapmakers? Alright, that was cool with Benny. Though Professor Maddox was also present so that was an interesting combination. Even if other members of staff were going to participate as time went on. The fifth year Gryffindor listened intently to all that was being said, even more interested in doing this club...this PROJECT! Moving back up once they were to begin, Benny nodded at his friend. "Sure...first floor is fine by me. " Any place was as good a place as any to start with their group so the older lion stood in the corner of the room they unofficially claimed for the property of the first floor students. Lux was first to join them and Benny returned her smile with a small one of his own to be polite. Oh look...Culloden was here too! And there was the cartographer they were supposedly working with for the project. Listening to the older man and the instructions he gave, plus seeing what was deposited on the table, Benny retrieved three purple notebooks and pencils, one for each of the three of them who had already claimed the first floor. "Here you go," he said, handing them out. |
Kitchen Group Yo. Wohooo the meeting was starting. He was glad for that. He noticed Emmy and Cinna and Puck made it here. He gave them friendly smiles and he wondered if Cinna and Emmy were gonna pick the same group he was. As he decided on which floor to explore first, he chose the kitchens because he loved food too much. Plus it was with Zander, Margo and Abby. He loved these people and knew them. He walked over to them and said, "Hey guys I will join you for the kitchens." He had an advantage since he was there all the time. It was no help because the kitchens was near his common room. Also he explored a lot of the castle too. He knew some things. He was quite excited for this activity to start. |
Kitchens ^_^ Hayden was happy with watching everybody enter. There were a lot of people who were going to join the club. She didn't blame them, it was very exciting. She stayed seated and people watched until the headmistress started the meeting. Hayden listened very attentively to what she was saying, she wouldn't want to miss a direction. The first few floors to start, got it. Hayden thought about what group she would like to be in, and she decided kitchens would be best. She spent a lot of time down there, and it would be interesting to see if there was anything by her common room that she hadn't known about before. So she got up and moved to join the group that had said they wanted to go to the kitchens. |
So the not being noticed thing hadn't gone as well as he'd hoped and there were a few smilers and wavers--all of whom received polite nods and little smiles too--but he would still try. The last of his stealth vanished once the Headmistress strolled in and greeted him. Of course he greeted back and thought that would have been the end of it...until she gestured for him to come forward. Of course. Was he the only one considering the distance from his spot here to where she stood? Merlin that was a lot of steps to take. Maddox resolved to pace himself, moving toward her. Compared to her, he seemed to slouch where he stood with a generally uninterested look but that might have been the sleep talking. It had a habit of being loud, you understand. Cosgrach got a nod when he joined them but the man didn't perk up until talk of splitting up. He was needed now, yeah? Ahem. He straightened and looked to see the students that would be in his group. Interesting. For now he'd let the featured Cartographer do whatever it was he was doing. |
Dungeons Well, Dante was used to the dungeons already. Since you know, the snakes common room and his bed were in the dungeons. Plus, Potions was down here. So why not explore the Dungeons more. Made sense to him at least. Maybe some secret passage was down there and no one knew because it was a secret. Maybe. Now where are the other dungeon people? Since this was a group project mapping carto whatever thing. And whoa that other Thornton! Who really says goodies? It sounds creepy when someone older than Dante said it. It was true. The older you got the more creepy it gets. Fact. Anyway, green for him then. He guessed. Not like he wasn't used to the color green. |
kitchens, because of one reason and its not food :| Tia had just been sitting idly awaiting for the meeting to begin and trying her best to avoid looking at the Gryffindor corner because she felt a twinge of jealousy just thinking about him back there with girls from his house. And she didn't even know why. It wasn't like they were a thing. He wasn't a thing with anyone that she knew of. So yea. Oh good, the headmistress was beginning. Take her mind off of other things and the commotion from the Lion corner. Well this would be interesting - learning all about the castle. But which area would she go to? Dungeons already seemed to get quite a few people selecting it as did ground floor. Glancing towards the other two corners, she spotted some familiar faces over in the kitchen area. Well one in particular of interest and she wanted that group more than anything. But as not to be too overt she approached by Kace instead of the Gryffindor. "Hey Kace! Remember me?" It had been awhile, and she hadn't been sorted into Hufflepuff. |
Dungeons group, yo! So they were splitting up to try and explore bits of the castle to make maps? Didn't sound bad to HIM. Certainly not when it gave him the prospect of being kinda nosey and finding a new spot to hang out in. Merlin knew that there was probably something interesting lurking here and there that he didn't know about. Like the fact that there was a passage that led to the Shrieking Shack. CERTAINLY didn't know about THAT. And which group was he gonna go with? WELL. If he went along with the Ground Floor people, all kinda of havoc would break loose because he got on with Gabe about as much as oil got on with water. It was simply a big fat no. And he had every urge to support Zander with the kitchens but....... ............ there was the fact that the dungeons were right near the Slytherin common room, the Potions classroom and there was a chance of a view of the lake. Yeah, he'd been won over. Dungeons group it is. So, he headed over to that corner over there. "'Sup, guys and girls," he said, giving them all a 'sup nod, "Everyone ready to explore the dungeons, then?" C'mon, let's get some momentum going. Also. The fact that this group was filled with mainly Slytherdors might be a good thing. Any Gryffindors foolish enough to risk their lives if need be? |
First floor (because the 'Claw in me felt the need to tally up the groups so far xD) More people had kept arriving, but Brooklyn hadn’t really acknowledged them. Aside from Hady when she’d arrived, because Slytherin, of course. They had to stick together and prove they were better. In her opinion, anyway, but then that had sort of been what she’d taken from the lecture back on the first night. Slytherins were better, and they all needed to prove that. She could prove it easy. As long as nobody did anything stupid, like those two bigger Gryffindors who were getting shooed by the headmistress. She thought she remembered seeing the boy over at the Slytherin table during the feast when they’d all gotten in trouble, too. He was going to get eyed. Except the headmistress had started to talk, so the eyeing would have to wait. So they’d be exploring the castle and making a map. Interesting. All she cared about was if she’d get credit for it, part of her mission to rule the school. As they’d been told to split off into groups, that had taken some thought. And a bit of a look for the new guy who seemed way too creepily excited. She was twelve and it seemed way too excited for her. None of the other younger students in the room were bouncing like that. For a moment she’d thought about picking the dungeons, because the color for that group was green (obviously), and Hady was over there too. But then, she could explore the dungeons whenever she wanted. She didn’t need to do it with a big group. Different group it was, so back to the drawing board when it came to notebooks. Yellow was too bright, and grey too boring, so purple it was. She picked her notebook and pencil then headed over to that corner. “I’m in your group,” she said, informing them. And there wouldn’t be any hugs, Hufflepuff prefect boy. Just saying. |
Annnnd someone else had joined them. "Heya , Lux!'' Adi was super pleased she chose to join them. Oh looky! It was Professor Cool... and some dude sneaking in behind. Adi tilted his head as he watched the other man. Who was he? Oh. He was the Cartographer the Hufflepuff realised after a while. Purple for the first floor? Cool! As Benny grabbed the pencils and notebooks, Adi greeted the new face joining their small group. He didn't mind it being small but he figured it would grow later on. It was the huggy Slytherin girl! "Hi!'' Adi said cheerfully to her. "I never got your name.'' |
HAAAAI, PROFESSOR CULLODEN. As he entered the room, Lux waved to him and look there was another man coming in as well. This had to be the cartographer, and sure enough he was. The man seemed pretty nice, Lux thought as she listened to everything he told them. Purple wasn't the same as blue, but it was still a nice colour. She thanked Benny as he handed a pencil and notebook over to her. It seemed that most people were choosing to head over to the other areas of the castle, but that was okay because their small group was awesome! And someone else wandered over too; a young girl (Brooklyn) Lux had seen in classes but hadn't talked to yet. "Hello, I'm Lux." She gave the girl a friendly smile. |

He wasn't sure if Ægis was talking to Hady or himself, but he let the comment go without reply. It was an EXCELLENT choice. The Chamber of Secrets was BENEATH the school, imagine what else was! SPOILER!!: Kevin The word DUNGEON caught his attention, and peering around to see who voiced it, Zeke spotted Kevin. "Dungeons over here!" he said, waving him over. Ground floor! Sophie beamed in response to Toby's nudge and opened her mouth to extend a proper greeting and an elaboration on her thoughts on today's antics to the Hufflepuff, but then the Headmistress was SPEAKING AND THINGS WERE HAPPENING. GROUPS. YES. OKAY. All the things she said were pretty interesting and exciting, though she tried not to laugh at the mention of them possibly being confused about rooms or not knowing about passageways. No, Sophie Brown had made it her life MISSION to find all those kinds of things and explore the castle at great lengths with Tobes, and she felt GOOD about the mission at hand. Whatever group she and Tobes went to, they'd have the time of their lives, for sure. And it'd be a breeze. ...But choosing a group was a little problem that deserved careful deliberation. People were quick to join groups and move to the different corners of the room, but Sophie stayed where she was and watched, counting the number of people in each and taking into account WHO went where. That was very important, of course. The dungeons group had the most people thus far tied with the kitchens group, and the only person that maybe made either of those worth joining were Culloden and Zander, but they were in different groups, so it was easy to count those out. The first floor had the least amount of people, so she considered that her talents might be needed there, but... Her people. Her people were in the ground floor group: BOTH of her dormmates, CB and Evie; CB's dorky prefect boyfriend, Gabe; a Hufflepuff she didn't know personally named Norah; and her TOBES. So... easy. Easy decision. Yes. "GROUND FLOOR. GO TEAM." She joined the group and offered up HIGH-FIVES TO ALL OF THEM. THE BEST GROUP. WOOP. The color grey, though? Merlin. That was a little depressing. |
Kitchens SPOILER!!: kitchens Hello this was going to be fun and hey Aegis had been blinded by her beauty…sure, she’d believe that, he’d probably just been trying to mess with Zander cause well…look? He had ALL of the amazing Gryffindor girls sitting next to him. “Are you sure it wasn’t old age?” Puck asked a smirk her go-to-smirk on her face. And when Aegis was OFF of her and well no longer over there she couldn’t help but laugh because Zander officially had an empty space next to him…hey look Kace was there! “Oh my gosh YES!” Puck answered Kace’s question and grinned. “The kitchens sound like a great place all the food and everything and we can get snacks while down there” she griiiiinnned widely. “Oh this is going to be great,” Puck grinned and then turned and looked around at the other people in the area. Zander was coughing? Did he like swallow a fly or something? Puck wondered as she glanced over at her CoPrefect friend and raised an eyebrow at him. “Ooooooh that sounds great! YES! I’ll join you guys because hello food?” She grinned at everyone really in the kitchens group. She did look up when Tia called over to Kace and smiled at her. “Hiiii! You joining us in the kitchens?” She asked happily, “I’m Puck…apparently I’m a seat cushion,” she grinned and hey look there was a guy over there talking about the group colors. “Ooooh so we’re the color of the hufflepuff house then?” She grinned over to the kitchen group and smiled. That was awesome. |
ground floor There was a head on his shoulder. Kyroh lifted his hand and softly placed it on Dot's head. "Maps!!" Pat. Pat. Cause clearly that was clearly what she wanted. Now she'd be okay. He wiggled over as Dima arrived too! Which was great. Because best friends and map making made sense. The headmistress chose THEN to start talking though and Kyroh focused in on her. Map making of the school. Starting with the dungeons. So everyone knew where everything was? So......why didn't the headmistress know where places was? Wasn't that dangerous and unsafe? Huuuuuuuh. The question lingered in Kyrohs mind for about a second before he blurted out; "I wanna go to the ground floor!" Where Bay was!! "Or the first floor." Cause PURPLE. kitchens group! Go ahead and post on the kitchens Excellent, both Cossy AND the cartographer were here! "Thank you, Thorbert," she greeted her former colleague with a smile, and Cosgrach got a smile and nod as well. Thorbert had brought goodies, though, which was even better. She selected a yellow pad and pencil for herself, then looked around as everyone seemed to be assembling. Good, good. The redhead quickly jotted down who was going where in her notebook, then looked up and addressed the crowd with a sonorous charm. "Professor Culloden will be leading students through the Dungeons, I'll take the Kitchens group, Mr. Kenting will lead the Ground Floor, and Professor Quigley will explore the First Floor. Go ahead and follow your group leader out to begin exploring. Obviously we expect this project to take more than one evening before curfew, so don't feel limited to exploring just tonight; you CAN work on this on your own time. We'll reassemble next week to discuss our findings, everyone, but for now, join a group and head to your location. Good luck!" She posted her list of group names up on the wall and then signaled to her kitchen kids --- mostly 'Puffs by the look of 'em, but also a few Gryffs and Claws --- to head to the kitchens. To the first floor we go! This seemed so exciting, and AJ was game on. It would be great having maps of the castle because even though this was her third year here she still didn't know half of the castle's secrets. Not to mention there were times when she still got lost in places. Man, there were a lot of people here, and when they were told to break up in groups AJ was trying to keep count of who was going where. AJ could make friends anywhere she went, but her and Adi had just made up, and she wanted to be in his group. "First floor for me." Lux was in this group, and Benny too. She was sure that she was missing people, but it was sure to be a good time no matter who was with them. |
Dungeons :3 You know who'd enjoy this too? Jeremiah. But he wasn't here. Mostly likely with his pretty nose in a book up at the library. Hopefully he was studying for N.E.W.T.s. Biting on the inside of her lip, she kept the things the Headmistress said in mind, although all that processed was maps maps maps. They were splitting up, great. She, of course, was heading toward the dungeons. About to move on, she flopped back on her cushion as a stranger joined them. His shiny head -- what'd caught her attention first -- got her thinking Mister Valentino had snuck into Hogwarts. What an entertainment that would've been, but no. This...was a stranger. A Mister Thornbert Kenting-stranger and he was apparently going to work with them. And he was handing out utensils. ".....Thank you..." she said softly as she went over to retrieve a set of colors and a notebook. Adults, stranger adults she had no clue where they popped in from, triggered her timid button for some reason. Dungeons, right. She sidled over close to Professor Culloden who'd be leading them. BUT STILL. How come his best mate went to the complete opposite corner leaving Zander Adair with two young girls that he didn't even know and hmph. And oh wait, Kace? Well, that was a bit better. The Gryffindor almost let out a breath of pure relief because two. Two familar faces. Though when he went to say something to her she.... She just ignored him and turned to Kace instead. Had he... Had he done something wrong? And then finally, Puck came over which meant he at least had his Prefect in crime so that was good too. Okay, it was a decent group. Not the best because he only really knew three out of the bunch... But still it was okay. Maybe. And oh man, not the Headmistress again?!?! Not that he didn't like her or anything.... But... She originally thought it was a good opportunity to find out more about her new school, but now she thought it was AWESOME. It sounded like so much fun, and she couldn't wait to figure out things about the age-old, mysterious castle! Text Cut: Buggy-Boo! Kate had been paying so much attention to the introduction of the club that she'd forgotten to look back at the girl she'd introduced herself to before. Hearing the girl say her name, Kate turned back with a nod. "Maps," she said, repeating what Margo had said. "Don't worry about your brother. He won't have any reason to tease you when he finds out you help map the school!" Kate grinned in excitement. "We're going on an adventure, Margo!" she said, doing a little bounce due to the excitement she just couldn't contain. Where did she want to start? Hmm... Text Cut: Kenting Hmm, who was this guy? Kate wasn't too sure about him, but he'd brought GOODIES! Kate stood on her toes and peered at the gifts. Pencils and notebooks? What was so wrong about quills? Then again, she guessed if you were doing a lot of exploring, you couldn't carry on ink as easy as you could a pencil. "Let's go grab a random pencil!" she said to Margo. "Whatever color I get, that's where I'm going!" Kate headed toward the pencil stash, closed her eyes, and plucked one at random. "Yellow! I'll be in the kitchens!" she told Margo. First Floor Ready So they were moving on and getting ready to head out. Well Benny was ready for whenever they moved off to whatever they found on their exploration of the first floor. Maybe there would be something new he hadn't found in the last four years here. And look...they got the new charms professor as the leader of their little group. Even better, though he would have taken Professor Culloden as well. The potions master had been starting to grow on him. Their group also seemed like it was the smallest of the four. By far. Alas, there was AJ. Had Benny not been told of the make-up, he might have been taken by surprise by her volunteering for the group including Adi. And in some part himself since he was connected to the Hufflepuff. But she was here and on the first floor squad and things looked like they were returning to normal. The fifth year sending a friendly smile her way. Back to Normal. |
off to the first floor? (let's see if Lux remembers her conversation with Lily) The first floor group had only been chosen because she saw no reason to have official permission to explore her own domain (also known as the dungeons). If that meant she had to deal with the Hufflepuff prefect who still seemed like he felt he knew her because of that incident during the potions final last term, Brooklyn would deal with that. She’d sent him a look at the almost chirpy hi he’d given her, anyway. Just so he knew she wasn’t chirpy. She wasn’t. And he hadn’t gotten her name because she’d never offered it. She hadn’t replied to him, but her blue eyes shifted over to look at the older redhead who had also been over in their corner as she’d spoken to her too. “Hi,” she replied. “Brooklyn Andrews.” She should remember that name. For that matter, the others should too. Besides, she almost wanted to ask if Lux was actually her real name or a silly nickname, except she didn’t particularly care. She wouldn’t have put it past Hufflepuff prefect boy to be the type to give silly nicknames to people. Instead, she’d toyed with the purple notebook and pencil in her hands as she waited for their next instructions. There had to be some, or at least an explanation as to what the other professors were doing there. And she hadn’t had to wait long before the headmistress had spoken again. She wasn’t surprised Professor Culloden was assigned the dungeons group. He ought to know that area just as well as any of the Slytherins anyway, but she was definitely glad they weren’t stuck with the creepy cartographer guy. He was just too creepy for her to want to be stuck with him for any length of time. She could handle being stuck with Professor Quigley. He was okay. Maybe not as cool as Professor Bellaire was, but still on her list of professors she respected. He hadn’t told them to head out yet though. So back to waiting. |
The astronomer was FUMING as he made his way down the stairs and through the corridors to the designated room LATE. UNCHARACTERISTICALLY LATE! And he knew JUST who to blame for all of it. ALL OF IT! LATE! What bad form! Sweet solstice that habit of falling back on that expression also needed to stop. It was really starting to freak the man out. After Maddox had stopped by for another meeting and update on some of his Gryffindor students - proving to Airey that his methodology was failing several of them - the Charms professor had OH SO CASUALLY left FUR around his office. FUR. FUR. FUUUUUUUUUUUUR! So the man had had no other choice but to spend the rest of the time between the closure of their meeting and the time of this club one rolling his lint roller up and down his entire office and then himself....and then Hershel for good measure. Maddox you little.... Why were people leaving? SWEET SOLSTICE HAD HE MISSED EVERYTHING?! Scurring inside and approaching the Headmistress, he threw the woman an awkward salute. "Reporting for duty, Headmistress." Now where was Maddox so he could GLARE at his friend? |
First Floor move out! *marches all soldier like* Oh? First Floor was it? Maddox gave no outward reaction to this--didn't even protest to being left with them and little other forms of authority--he just stood there with an even expression while he waited for the Headmistress to finish dishing out the orders. This expression crumpled, making way for one of utter amusement however when he saw Airey walk in looking like someone dumped a box of kitty little on his desk....or maybe fur.....HMMM. "Glad you could join us, Flamsteed. Thought you'd be missing the party." If you could call it that. They had a fairly small group. Thankfully it didnt constitute any of the students that annoyed him beyond belief. He could definitely get into this. As the Astronut approached them, Maddox gave him a firm smack on the back. "You'll be rolling with us." Why? Because he said so and Airey hadn't been here earlier to realize the Annie It was almost exciting, almost. Were he a different man he'd have found it exciting. He nudged Airey lightly in the ribs before heading for the exit. They were coming, yes? Wonder how long the excited feeling would last before he started missing his bed... |

*heads off for the First Floor* The Headmistress was announcing staff leaders for the different groups, and Lux wasn't sure how she felt going with Professor Quigley. She had nothing against the man, but she just hadn't formed a proper opinion of him. He seemed nice enough, though he clearly had a temper; not that she could blame him for being stressed during his first lesson. AJ wandered over to join them and that made Lux happy because she really liked the younger Lion. "Hey!" she said feeling happy that her and Adi had clearly made up. The Slytherin introduced herself, and Lux made note of her last name. "I know your sister." Yep, there was no doubt in her mind that she was correct because the girl's name was Brooklyn. Lux missed Lily and hoped she was doing well. A flustered looking Flamsteed entered as late as ever, and there was Quigley who apparently had recruited Flamsteed. Haha. This would be awesome. "Hello, Professors." Time for them to have some fun! Off they went. |
First floor leaving Suddenly Professor Flamsteed was there, certainly flustered for one reason or another. Was it because he was late to the gathering? They were all ready to go at this point and he had nearly missed it all if they had departed before he had arrived. Benny supposed so for the man was usually so regulated with his timing and department...when he wasn't Captain Hook of course. Alas, Professor Quigley was calling them to order so the first floor group could leave all together. Benny turned his attention to the charms professor so as not to miss anything. Flamsteed coming with them too...alrighty then. The fifth year moved to follow the animangus as the man left to exit the room. Time to get this show on the road!. |
SPOILER!!: Bunz and for Culloden! He was EXCITED to be doing this, like REALLY truly EXCITED. He LOVED cartography, it was like awesome, and was totally what some of the best adventurers did - y'know, once they were done with killing deadly things and being awesome. Zeke waved to Professor Culloden before giving him an energetic salute. This Gryffindor was ready to move out. SPOILER!!: Prefect Wayne Zeke was still standing to attention, waiting for things to happen when their group grew some more. Wee! The more the merrier, they'd have the dungeons covered quicker. Cosgrach smiled and nodded at all those who acknowledged him, but before he had a chance to say anything, a man entered - probably the Cartographer - and started ordering around... in a fashion. Cosgrach couldn't decide if he should be amused by him or hate him. In the end, he chose to be annoyed. The man was one of those who were LOUD but an EXPERT... or so he HOPED he was expert. He got a green pencil and notebook. He examined them while Annie explained who would go where. Once she led her group out, and Cosgrach smirked at a very unhappy Airey, he looked at the students there too and cleared his throat. "To the dungeons!" he roared, waited a few seconds for his group to assemble, and led them out as well. |
TO THE DUNGEONS! Zeke didn't have to be told or asked twice, there was NOTHING that could keep this Gryffindor away. Nothing. "On it, Professor," he replied quickly before squeezing his way out of the room, eager and EXCITED to get started... like.. YESTERDAY, or now, now was good too. Weeeheee! Still not knowing which group the dungeon group was, Kevin simply waited near Professor Culloden when the Headmistress told them the groups. He secretly hoped that Zander would be in his group because thanks to his Prefect work and his O.W.L studies they hadn’t been able to hang out much. When a bubbly old man came in, giving them all colored notepads and pens, Kevin took the green one and then completely ignored him further. Bla bla map maker something bla bla, could they start now? The Gryffindor wanted to explore and find hidden rooms! Seeing Zander waving at him before heading to the kitchens, Kevin did a ‘sup?’ head nod at the Prefect, a hint of a smile playing on his lips which he tried so hard to dissapear because he was cool and then turned around as well to follow the Potion Professors. |
Ground Floor!!! The floor of that beautiful, wonderful, dream-like Great Hall! The extraordinary Entrace Hall! The valuable stones of the House Cup race, the elegant staircases... Thorbert dreamily nodded at Anastasia. This was perfect. He grabbed a grey pencil and brought out a bigger notebook. His notebook was surprisingly simple... on the outside. Tiiiiiiiime to mooooooove! "To the Entrance Hall my lovelies," he called to the students. He walked to the door, but didn't leave. He would leave last to make sure he got eeeeeeveryone. |
