It is 8 am, the air is cool and crisp, birds are chirping and the sun is on it's way up by now if it's not raining out, so naturally you know that you should be in or on your way to transfiguration class by now.
Once you enter the classroom, you see that instead of the perfectly polished and straight desk are chairs, there are work stools and mannequins. To the side of the classroom are boxes with assortments of fabrics and materials usually used in dress making. No not touch, in fact, do nothing until professor Bellaire instructs you.
Professor Bellaire is at the front of the classroom, awaiting your arrival.

"It will," he agreed, and it was a good thing Ian emphasised the not girly bit too. Good to know. "Eeer... did you want to wear my robe for now?" he asked his partner in crime. Oh joy! No one had any questions. They all got a look though because she did give them the opportunity to ask, so now she was going to purposely assume that everyone was crystal clear with the example and explanation.
She turned back to the black board and continued writing.

OOOOOH a person! Norah smiled at her, and held out a hand. "I'm Norah, second year." She looked quickly around the room and then back at Eden, leaning closer to the older girl to whisper, "Do you know anything about fashion? 'Cause I sure don't." Apparently one's fashion sense ceased to exist when their number one pastime was running around outside. Whoops. She smiled up at the girl anyway. At least if they failed, they could fail together yes?

Eden thought the younger girl was just adorable. NORAH. Eden would have to try to remember her name..though lately, she had been pretty good about people's names. WHOOH. Working with partners?
Eh...she could scoot across the room to work with Lottie but then she didn't know if Lottie would have preferred making her own thing and when you considered the distance which wasn't that far because their seats were close she just accio-ed her own fabrics from the box. Didn't matter that they couldn't touch the dragon skins, she wouldn't have worn them anyway. Just this thing about wearing reptiles, you know?
Before the actual creation could happen she needed a concept. Lex had been no good at this back in her first year, what made the Professor think now would be any better?
Of course she remembered all the spells listed but fashion designing? Sounded more like something she'd pay her cousin to do.

Notes were taken. Ones with several underlines and stars next to the spells Maddie would be using to create HER outfit. Pants and a shirt, of course. Simple and done in different shades of blue. Favorite color, y'see? No skirts or dresses, not for her and definitely not today. As for the material, the second year wasn't sure. She looked around to see if others were getting up but saw no movement just yet so instead of heading towards the box, the brunette began to sketch.
Kace saw the professor writing on the board and copied down in his notes. He was smirking to himself because he knew him and puck were gonna look in ridiculous shakespearean clothes. He decided he should sketch some ideas he had for Puck orrrr he could dress her up in skateboarding clothing. He thought about it and decided to do both and see which one she would like. He sketched what he thought what ladies clothes would like in shakespearean times.
SPOILER!!: Sketch 1 for Puck
Then he did some skateboarder looks he thought would look great on her.
SPOILER!!: Sketch 2
He walked over to her and see which one she loved more. "Here Puck I made two sketches.." he said showing them to her. "Which one do you like better?" he asked for her honest opinion.

Nodding, Lux smiled weakly at her best friend. Usually Cinna would be a lot more excited at the prospect of working on clothes; how could she not be when clothes were fantastic. But Professor Bellaire's strict attitude had ruined Cinna's good mood.
As the different spells were written on the board and demonstrated, Lux made sure to watch carefully. She had no experience transfiguring clothes and as such did not want to seriously mess this up. Why did one of her worst classes have to have a Professor who unsettled her? She was always afraid she would get on Bellaire's bad side somehow.
It was time to start. Eyeing the boxes, she wondered why anyone would want to wear dragon skin. She loved dragons, but would never WEAR them. That would be strange.
"So do you want to do a shirt and a skirt?" Or maybe a dress?

“How’s this?” She asked Kace and lifted up the paper with her first sketch on it, and with a chuckle she picked up the other one. “And look its another warrior the wolf of gringotts” she grinned. “I’m going to go grab the beetles and fabric we need” she informed and quickly left to grab supplies. When she returned arms laden with supplies she griped slightly to Kace. Uhhh. So this was gonna be hard. Norah eyed the spells on the board and made a face. Fashion did NOT make any sense. "Shirt and pants sounds good to me." She was noooot gonna stand in front of everyone modeling a DRESS, nuh-uh. That'd just be embarrassing.
Staring at the fabrics, Norah flicked a curl out of her eye and turned back to Eden. She pointed at a flowery fabric and said, "What about this one for the shirt?" 'Cause flowers were the best, mmhmm.

Dot needed a partner. She needed partner who would let her make clothes for them both, because Dot LOVED making clothes, actually, and would not put up with someone trying to dress her in shaggy burlap or whatever it was that Queen Bellaire had put on That Boy. So that meant... Dima.
Partner Dima, who was fun times to work with AND would let her put him in paisley, if she wanted to do so. She didn't, but it was nice to know it was a possibility.
"DIMA," Dot hissed at him and gave him a very gentle elbow. "Dima. Let's be partners. Let's match. We can make a dress and shirt that are the same fabric." Pause pause. "I'll wear the dress."
Puck laughed when she saw the first outfit that Kace had put together for her – well, the sketch that is. “That is perfect, now all I will need to do is braid my hair, and maybe conjure a flock of magical birds to flit around me” she grinned and chuckled…now his looked Elizabethan but hers, hers looked older and well he might looked good in her idea.

Kace chuckled and asked, "Now how do you suppose I would get a flock of birds from?" He obviously joking but he was intrigued to know her answer. He was glad she liked the first sketch. But then he saw her sketches and he had to admit he did like her first sketch. He could look like a fierce warrior. "I do like the first sketch but I am kind of loving the second sketch of me in the suit.." he said. He could pull off his suaveness. As she went to go get fabrics, he was debating which one he liked. He really loved both but if he had to choose.....

He even answered her comment, "Oh I know I wish we had dragon skins too it would make my armor look so cool but I take your are dressing up in the shakespearean clothing, you don't want the skater look?" he asked making sure.

He certainly hope so because: "Yeah! We make a GOOD team!" They brought about a snowstorm that one time and this time, they were gonna strut their stuff down a catwalk.
Sweet Merlin, this sounded like a recipe for disaster.
Was he glad that the list of spells had been put up? YES. So, when Bellaire was done talking -- why did they have to use beetles?! -- Grayson turned his attention towards Ethan again and said, "Do you hve any idea of what's in fashion? Or what we should make?" He was going to be nice and not force Ethan into something made from spandex. Or a glittery dress.

Needles, beetles? Beetles for the button? Buttons do have designs too, yes? Wait, should he be—oh. Grayson was already talking. Ethan quickly jotted down his notes, then stuffed them right away to get started.
The prefect made a face and scratched his head. “I was hoping you’d know something about fashion, Grayson. I just…well, I always go for jeans and shirt, but that’s about it.” As long as he’s clothed, he’s good to go. “But…I reckon that’s not what Bellaire wants…” he said as he got up and rummaged through the different fabrics. "Something...flashy but never trashy?" Did he even got the saying right? He got a plaid one and draped it around his shoulders. “How do I look, Monsieur Whitlock?” he asked with his nose high up in the air. “Meh, who am I kidding. I’m clueless, really. And those…” he said pointing at the blackboard, “are not easy spells.” Let alone pronounce it properly.
So what’s going to happen now? Maybe Grayson knows what to do? Or…how to even start it? He got himself another fabric, this time it was leathery, and trudged back to his own mannequin. “This is just…disaster waiting to happen.” He said as he wrapped the fabric around his dummy.
Oh and pins. He'll be needing those...

Controlled progressive fun. LOL!
You know what? It would be incredibly boring to do this on her own, mainly because she'd be done with the activity before anyone else could get started, you see. So, she moved places and sat right next to Lex. Just be glad we're working, Bellaire.
"What are we doing, then? Shall we each design something for the other or the same for both or match somehow?" There wasn't a lot of time to give this a lot of thought, quite frankly, but surely they could decide between one of those options and have a little fun with this, right? As much fun as one could have while making clothes and whatever it was Bellaire thought controlled progressive fun even meant.
Controlled progressive fun? Toby could totally do that.
Well, he was more in the business of uncontrolled fun, but what Professor Bellaire asked for, Professor Bellaire got; Toby wasn't about to go crazy in one of her lessons, after all.
Before he started, Tobias rooted around the nearby boxes, looking for some fabrics he might like to use. It was a shame he wasn't allowed to get Lala in here, that goose was pretty good at fashion advice, as Toby was now aware. The Hufflepuff himself had never really had much of an eye for fashion, not like certain people he knew, but he definitely knew how to put an outfit together. But there was a real temptation to go all out, and be ludicrous.
Ooh, it was difficult to choose. Maybe he could try and make an entire SUIT with an awesome COAT to go with it. He could look totally FLY.
The Hufflepuff mused, trying to plan what he could create, and rooted through the boxes for any fabric that he might like to use. This was sure to be super fun.

Puck took heed at what Kace had said about liking the suit, but really, really she kind of wanted to make both of them? What it wasn’t against the rules to go overboard was it? She wondered as she glanced at Professor Bellaire and sent her a kind smile. “I get that, I might try and make both though” Puck informed with a grin.
Picking up one of the leaves and rolled it in her fingers momentarily, wondering which outfit to design first. Setting it down once more she decided to start on the pants portion of the outfit. Picking up a length of brown fabric she simply pointed her wand at it and carefully cast the spell. “Summitto Vestis” she cast and watched as the fabric seemed to grow, shift, and stitch together until they had formed a singular pair of pants, more like rough looking leggings but hey it worked for the first outfit she wanted to design now didn’t it? “Darn it” she muttered as she inspected the leg and realized it was far too short. “Summitto Vestits” she tried again and watched as the pants were now pants, still they were the rough spun wool of the first outfit but it was better than looking like a lopsided creep right?

The only thing was who was going to model whatever they made? Hopefully it wouldn't be here. Maybe they'd have enough time to make two outfits or something and they could do the modeling together. That could prove to be rather interesting.
With her partner chosen all Hady had to do now was wait for further instructions from the Professor.

Brooklyn had merely nodded back as Hady had heard her whisper and agreed to be partners. They were going to make the best clothing. She wasn’t going to allow herself anything less, and she knew she could work with her dorm mate. It wasn’t like she was partnered up with Maggie, but then she could handle that too. The important part was keeping Professor Bellaire liking her, and since nobody had asked the question about how the modeling thing worked if they worked together, she figured she’d just have to do as she wanted. Anything they made would fit either one of them anyway. Of course, they didn’t know the spells yet. She wasn’t about to try and make anything the Muggle way.
Professor Bellaire had finally explained what they were supposed to be doing, too. She had turned her attention to the demonstration easily, already trying to quietly work out how to pronounce all those spells in her head. They seemed awfully complicated. It wasn’t about to scare her though, but she’d glanced over at Hady again to see if she looked scared. They were partners, so that meant she had not only herself to worry about. She still wasn’t about to fail, but first they needed to decide what they wanted to make.
The mention of dragon skin was oh so tempting, too. Just not important right now.

In all seriousness... it looked as if Ian had already tried this whole rags to.. raggy clothes thing. Only, they weren't very raggy... and they were very, bright. But with all the madness that was going on this term, he didn't really question it.
"It will," he agreed, and it was a good thing Ian emphasised the not girly bit too. Good to know. "Eeer... did you want to wear my robe for now?" he asked his partner in crime. See, he was at least wearing his uniform underneath, but Ian... Ian needed help. He was smaller than Ian, but anything would be better than... that.

T_______________T
Could he say uh oh yet?
Ian was grateful for the offer from Zeke. He leaned over and asked, Ummm...dude...why am I dressed like this? I seem to have lost my senses. I'm surprised Bellaire let me sit in her class like this. Ian shook his head no about the robe. I'll suffer through it. Maybe we can come up with something a bit more suitable.
Ian heard the professor speaking again. She had written gobs of spells on the board. Good gracious. Did she expect them to do ALL of those spells? And then she restricted them from the really nice stuff. Why had she left it in the box then? That wasn't exactly the smartest thing for a professor to do if she didn't WANT students to accidently grab dragon hide for their projects. A nice dragon hide hat would be right proper.
Looking over at Zeke, Ian shrugged. I don't know how many she wants us to do, but I'm not wearing a dress. Now if you want to see me in a fine kilt, that's a different matter, but I wouldn't trust me to make one. Let's go pick some fabric. And I'd like a nice new vest, so I'll try that leaf thing. What kinds of thoughts do you have?

That was some list of spells there on the board. Hady began taking down notes as she always did quietly working out each spell under her breath as she wrote it down on her parchment. This was going to be great. Her and Brooklyn working as a team was bound to be fun and she knew they'd do very well.
With her notes written down she turned towards her partner. "Do you have any ideas on what we should make? Should we focus on just one of us being dressed up or maybe both of us can wear something similar just in a different color or fabric?" Hadleigh asked cause you know they needed to decide on what they were going to do. There was two of them not just her so everything that was to be done needed to be done together. "Or if you're not sure yet maybe looking at what there is available can help us come up with something."

Well, THAT was a lot of spells. AJ paid close attention to them all as Bellaire went over them. There were a few that AJ would not be needing because there was no way she was going to make a skirt, a dress, or anything girly at all.
She had pretty much decided that pants were going to happen, and as far as the top was concerned she was leaning towards a jacket or a shirt. If she made a jacket then would have to make a shirt, right? Couldn't go around not wearing a shirt. Hmm...
AJ eyes the box of fabrics. Nothing girly, nothing girly. A red shirt would be cool, since that was her favorite color. For the pants she was thinking black. They would go nice with her black converse that she always wore.
Eden was glad the girl agreed. Dress...no. She eyed the flowery print...well..it wasn't the worst? "Sure---that works." whatever. Eden was fine with it and didn't mind the flowers too much. She preferred something less...girly, but the younger girl would look nice in flowers. YEP.
"C-can we do..jeans for the bottoms?" she asked softly, as she rummaged around in the bin for the right material--AHA. She found some jean material and held it up for Norah to see. "Might be a bit much if we do...a patterned shirt AND patterned pants..." because Eden was an EXPERT on fashion...right...
Right.
Jeans, yes. Jeans were good. She nodded at the older girl and pulled out her wand. "So should I try to turn into a shirt then?" Norah smiled apprehensively at Eden and glanced back at the spells at the board. She could do this right? Riiiiight? She cried, "Summus Vestis! and moved her wand in a backwards Z. Nothing happened. Waaaait, that had been a forwards Z, hadn't it. She glanced back at the fifth year, hoping she didn't regret picking such an incapable partner, and prepared to try again. Pointing her wand back at the flowery fabric, she said "Summus Vestis, this time moving in a BACKWARDS Z, yep. The fabric began to transform, taking the shape of an oddly lopsided blouse. Were the frills supposed to be there? Shrug. She leaned over and plucked at one of the sleeves, which was about twice as large as the other one. Norah looked back at Eden. "Umm. Should I try again?

Angel was trying to figure out what to make when she suddenly saw AJ. "Hey Sis." Angel looked over at her sister. "Want to partner me?" Angel wasn't sure if her sister would because she already had an idea in her head, she was thinking of a top with a skirt and maybe tights to go with them something that girls would love to wear all the time, she was very fashion centred and she knew AJ wasn't that much.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Maybe if she stared at the fabric long enough it would feel the intent and magic itself into whatever happened to be in her mind. It didn't help that her mind was currently blank but they'd cross that bridge when they got to it, yeah? For now, staring hard at the fabrics and wondering why they weren't hopping about the table.
Her concentration was broken by someone taking the seat by hers. They weren't looking to partner right? Because....no...she didn't wann--OHAI LOTTIE!! This changed everything. Naturally. Lex gave her a relieved smile. She knew how hopeless Lex was at this stuff, yeah? No need for explaining the agony she was in before her bestie sat next to her? Good good.
"I don't think you should trust me to make a design for you unless you wanna live by the principle of 'it's the thought that counts'." Juuuust saying. "But we could figure something out. Match somehow. I'm willing to compromise my colour preferences for you--unless you say pink then we'll have to find some other way of matching with the designs." Then again, they could match in design but sport different colours....there was that too.
Lex accio-ed the entire box over to them so they could make their choices. If anyone wanted anything they'd have to come and get it. Of course she'd put it back once they got what they needed from it but not before.
