Located in a not-so-obvious part of the grounds, you will find the giant treehouse! Before getting to the awesome-ness of the treehouse, you will have to climb the ladder first. It isn't so steep, and has a wooden railing to help you up. The treehouse is fitted with windows and a fence all around - but still giving you a beautiful view of the grounds.
Inside of the treehouse is a place of tranquility and relaxation. It is filled to the brim with cushions, rugs and beanbags for sitting. For leisure, you pretty much have to bring your own entertainment. But that's not so bad when you're in a WICKED-COOL treehouse, AMIRIGHT?
Please do not fall out of the treehouse. It is secure and safe with a cushioning charm if you do, but that would be a bit silly.

One of the places that Lux had missed the most during the freezing weather last term was the tree house, so a visit was long overdue.
Eagerly making her way up the ladder, the redhead looked around and beamed. She had really missed the tree house and being here made her happy. This was one of the very few places where she felt comfortable off the ground. Heading over to one of the cushions, she sat down on it before crossing her legs and reaching into her bag. Pulling out some nail polish, she started doing her nails while humming a song.

Adi had gotten the owl. Of course he had. Why else would he be climbing the ladder up to the tree house, on his way to see Kace? And soon he was at the top. Oh look! Bean bags! Adi loved those. Yup, he needed to get one for his bedroom back home.
And there was Kace, sitting comfortably in one of them. "Heya, Kace? What's up?'' The fourth year selected a bean bag next to his friend and made himself comfortable too. "How were the first days back?"

Jasmine was on a mission this year. She wanted to try to visit as many different parts of Hogwarts as she could especially the places she hadn't been before. First on the list was the treehouse. She had heard how cool it was and she was oh so anxious to see it for herself.
When Jasmine arrived at the treehouse, she looked at it fom ground level. Then she began to climb the ladder, pausing to look around every few rungs until she reached the top. "Made it", Jasmine said to no one in particular.
Once inside, Jasmine looked around the treehouse and was very impressed. Then she saw a familiar face. "Hi Lux. This place is awesome. I can't believe I didn't come here sooner.". Of course last year's deep freeze had a little bit to do with that.

Startled by someone speaking, Lux streaked a bit of blue nail polish on her finger. After wiping it away, she looked up and was pleased to see the person who had joined her. "Jasmine! Congratulations on the badge." This was the first opportunity to mention it, since during class time wasn't the best moment. "How are you liking being a Prefect so far?" Shifting on the cushion a little, she motioned for her friend to take a seat. There were plenty of cushions to choose from.
"So you've never been here before? This is one of my favourite places at Hogwarts." Besides the kitchens, Hufflepuff Common Room, and the lake.

Jasmine had clearly startled Lux. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Looks like I ruined your manicure." She was sure that a blue finger was not the look Lux was going for.
"Thanks", Jasmine said in response to Lux's congratulations. "I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing, but I'm just trying to roll with it. I just hope that I don't disappoint." Jasmine walked over to Lux and sat down on a cushion near her. "So how have you been? Did you enjoy your summer?" Jasmine was glad to see her looking much happier than when they had left for summer break. She was sure that part of it was because Bay was healed from the Chort attack.
"No, I've never been here before. I intended to come, but then it got too cold. This might become one of my favorite places too." It would take a few visits before that could be confirmed, but the possibility was good.

Smiling, Lux shrugged the apology off and went back to painting her nails. It was a really pretty shade of blue and she hoped that it would make her nails look really pretty. Blue was her favourite colour, and sometimes wished she had blue eyes instead of brown; but really she loved her eyes.
"I am sure you will do a great job as a Prefect." All the selected Prefects would do wonderful, and she was really happy with the choices that the Staff had made. "I've been great! Summer was fun, and I'm happy to be back here with the nice weather. Shame that winter will be coming pretty soon and it will get cold again." Lux was so not ready for the cold to come back. "What about you? How was your summer?"
Nodding, Lux didn't want to think of Jasmine Graduating so she decided to change the subject. "Do you want me to do your nails after I do mine? I like doing manicures." They were fun like make overs.

Jasmine smiled as Lux gave her a vote of confidence on her Prefecting skills. She just hoped that she could live up to the expectations. When Lux shared about her summer, Jasmine chimed in. "My summer was great. It actually turned out better than I expected." She'd done some traveling, visited some friends, gotten a tattoo and oh yes, actually done some studying. "I hear you about the weather though. I think I've had enough winter to last a lifetime"
Standing up, Jasmine walked around the treehouse and took in the amazing view. It really was beautiful. When Lux began to speak again, Jasmine turned her attention back to her. "I'd love a manicure", she said as she sat beside Lux again. Looking down at her hands, Jasmine said, "I could definitely use some polish." Jasmine held her hands out in front of her. "Which one first, right or left?" She was glad to be having some girl time with one of her friends.

Finishing up her nails, Lux was happy to hear that Jasmine had a good summer too. Summer was the best time of year, and everyone was supposed to have a wonderful holiday in her opinion. "I don't like the cold much. Give me the heat of the sun any day." Pulling out her wand, Lux used Ventus to quickly dry her nails.
The prospect of giving Jasmine a manicure made Lux even happier. Manicures were a lot of fun though she didn't know how to do the really fancy ones. Hopefully blue nails would be okay, because it was the only nail polish she had brought from her dormitory. "Right works for me!" But it didn't matter too much either way. Taking Jasmine's right hand, she began to apply the nail polish being as careful as possible.

Glad you could make it!" he smiled and got up and gave him a one armed hug. "Oh my first days back were awesome. I love being here. Plus I get to see my girlfriend twenty four seven. I can't complain.." he grinned elbowing him a little bit. "How are you doing Mr. Prefect..?" he asked with a little smirk.

Jasmine made herself comfortable and let Lux go to work. She looked down at the pretty shade of polish and figured that it would look perfect on her nails. "I love the Ravenclaw blue color. It should go nicely with my uniform." There was something very relaxing about having your nails done and Jasmine was going to enjoy her moment.
Then Jasmine remembered bumping into Lux at the tattoo parlor this summer. "So how's the navel piercing working out. Tell the truth, did it hurt?" Jasmine couldn't imagine that it didn't hurt. She'd had her ears pierced and that teeny hole had hurt plenty. There was no way she would be brave enough to get her navel pierced.....well maybe if she drank the potion that Professor Culloden had given her.

The comment about the blue going well with her uniform caused Lux to laugh. Quickly she stiffled it since she didn't want to mess up Jasmine's nails. That was true enough, and something she hadn't considered. "Blue is my favourite colour. And now I will match the Ravenclaw robes too!" Even though she wasn't a Ravenclaw, she had friends who were in that House. Really if she was going off of House colours, hers should have been yellow. Honestly she would have gone with red instead.
Oooh, the navel piercing. "It's going well! I really like it and I did everything that the shopkeeper told me to. Bay approved when I showed him." But of course she had figured he would be cool with her doing anything with her body. It just made her happy that her boyfriend had liked it was all. "It hurt for like a second or so but then it was okay. What about your tattoo? Did it really hurt? And what design did you get?" She hadn't gotten a look at the time since other things were going on, namely her navel piercing.

Man, were these things comfy! Adi was definitely bugging his parents to get him a bean bag. "Wouldn't miss it,'' he replied enthusiastically to his friend from since first year. Adi returned the bro hug.
Adi grinned. "I know what you mean there.'' Because he got to see AJ every single day too. "It's still just Adi,'' he said modestly. "I thought you'd be the one having that title, to be honest.'' Indeed he had. "I'm awesome! Just really glad to be back.''
"What about you? You're fifth year now so that means OWLs. How many subjects do you plan on doing for the exams?'' Plus, the fourth year still had to ask about what career Kace was hoping to get into.
Gwen finally had time to explore the treehouse properly. And darn it. She was going to explore it throughly. She wasted no time climbing up the tall tree. The first room she entered was amazing. Sure there wasn't much there, just a couple of super comfy looking bean bag chairs, but come on. This was the coolest treehouse she'd ever been in.
Gwen started to look around for places that she could go up higher. She wanted to see how high she could actually get. She'd stop before she was afraid to come down, but still. She wanted an adventure.

His compass had him confused, not so much because it didn't work... but because it DIDN'T WORK. Yeah. That made sense. He'd always relied on it for his adventures, but now that the schools funky spells were sending his MAGIC compass out of whack... it had him a little lost. So lost in fact, that he gave up on the device being of any use to him, so it returned to his pocket.
Zeke had taken to wandering the grounds - cause a lot of the best adventures happened outside where there were fewer professors to growl at him. Alas, wandering around aimlessly wasn't one of his better ideas, but then again, he'd found his way HERE.
"... awesome," Zeke muttered under his breath, approaching the super cool treehouse. Muggle treehouses were lame in comparison, this one was EPIC. Rushing up the rungs of the ladder with ease, Zeke popped his head up to platform level before heaving himself up and proceeded to inch his way into one of the rooms. And if that wasn't cool enough, he didn't have to enjoy this experience alone!
"Hey Gwen!" he greeted brightly, walking further into the space, his hazel eyes taking it all in. "Pretty neat huh?"

Gwen had pulled herself up onto a window ledge to get a better view of the branches she could grab onto. She plopped her butt down and leaned back, holding onto the window sides for support. She was pretty much partially hang out it at one point. Then she heard her name.
She leaned back forward quickly and smiled at Zeke. "Hey Zeke." She nodded. "Yeah. I'm just trying to find some branches so I can climb higher."

It wasn't every day that you saw a girl scaling the side of a treehouse, so Zeke was rather impressed with the sight of Gwen essentially doing just that. Of course, there had been a reason for the hat to sort Gwen into Gryffindor... and THIS must have been one of them.
"Sounds cool, mind if I tag along?" he asked, meandering over and taking a look at the branches above. It wasn't as if she could really say no, it was a free country last he checked. "I could give you a leg up if you need it... I can't do levitation charms yet, but maybe one day." Still, he COULD make himself useful.

Gwen smiled. Yep. She had chosen right with this one. Saved her from dying in the boats and now wanted to climb the tree with her. Zeke could stay. "Yeah. Climbing 'll be more fun with someone else." Then they could talk and spot out sturdy branches together.
"A boost would be perfect. My arms are just a bit too short to reach the sturdiest looking branch." Hopefully she'd hit a growth spurt eventually and not be super short for the rest of her life.

He was in!
Gwen was no Ashley, and there was no way that he could replace his sister... but Gwen was pretty darn awesome, and considering they had another six years to get through together, it was nice to think of her as his new partner in crime. Hehe. "Brilliant," he replied, grinning.
He did well not to laugh when the mentioned having short arms, there was nothing wrong with that, but it was still slightly amusing. "Sure, here," he nodded, moving into position. "I've done this loads of times, won't drop you or anything," he added, lacing his fingers together - his hands cupped ready for her foot to give her a boost.
Zeke Rogers was stronger than he looked. Mhhhmm.... or so he hoped.

Gwen repositioned herself that Zeke would actually be of help to her. "I'm trusting you. If I fall and die, I'm going to haunt you." She didn't think she would but a threat would make him be even more careful, right? Besides, she never usually had help climbing trees. Then again, her dad was always hovering when she was to make sure she didn't fall.
She put her foot in his hand, leaving one on the ledge. She reached for the branch waiting for that last little boost...

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! She'd haunt him? Really? REALLY?... That'd be all sorts of cool. She'd be a friend for life, literally. XD "You'd waste your afterlife on me?" he asked teasing. "I'd be cool with that." Of course, that didn't mean he'd actually let her plummet to her death, and he didn't think the school would let such things happen. It was probably impossible to fall and die from up here. The earth would probably rise up like a giant serpent and catch her or something. Which WOULD be kinda cool to see, but not today, today they had to climb!
He had expected her weight, and so he didn't buckle when her foot pushed down on his grip. "Got it?" he asked, lifting her up as far as his own arms would take her... which wasn't very far in the grand scheme of things.

Gwen couldn't help but smile, glad that Zeke got her joke. "What else am I going to do then haunt the boy that let me die? I'm only eleven. Not like I've done much else." Which would be really sad. She made a note to remind him of that constantly. Not that she thought it was going to happen but hey. Had to have a plan in case it did. She laughed. "I'm glad you'd be okay with me pestering you."
Gwen reached out and...yes! Her hand grasped onto the branch. "I GOT IT!" She put her other hand on and pulled herself up. Moving to the back of the branch so she could perch better, she looked back down at Zeke. "You need me to pull you up?" He'd helped her, it was only right to return the favor.

Zeke shrugged his shoulders, she had a good point. There wasn't much more that really could be done than haunt the person or persons that was responsible for ones death... and even then, ghosts were cool, not scary, so it was hardly effective as a means of revenge. "Fair enough, though, you wouldn't want to haunt your family instead so you could still be with them?" That was probably what he would do if he were a ghost. But no, he wouldn't mind being pestered, "Any time." Heh.
It was a good thing she was a good climber, and not crippled by fear in doing so, because he soon felt her weight shift and he was suddenly unburdened. Success!!!! Immediately he moved to hoist himself up onto the window frame just as she had done, one hand holding to the above frame, fingers bent and clinging to support himself, the other hand outstretched to the branch not far above his head. "Not scared I'll pull you off?" he asked, nevertheless nodding that a hand would be appreciated.

"Well it makes sense" he commented on Zander's point of going up to think. Having 7 siblings he especially understood, he had a tendency to climb on trees and buildings in general to get away from them so a treehouse would be so convenient. "You can sort of distance yourself a bit from everything else" that was accompanied with a soft, understanding smile.
"Sure" he answered with a grin, moving over to the ladder, moving up it quickly. "This is amazing" he told the other lion.
It really was.
The Gryffindor smiled at his new younger lion friend, okay maybe first years were alright. Sometimes they were.... Yeah. Sometimes they were mean and asked rude questions and poked and prodded and anyways- Leo wasn't like that he was a good one. As Zander kept walking towards the treehouse he turned and smiled a bit when he heard Leo speak up. "It does?" Uh wait a minute, "Oh uh-yeah, of course it does!" The boy agreed, HE AGREEED!! Sophie would've probably said he was being a nerd for going up there to think... Kevin would probably say the same thing too. Zahra would laugh at him, but she didn't really matter anyways. But still. Most people wouldn't have agreed. So Leo was awesome.
Zander nodded in agreement, but kept moving up towards the top. Geee if this kid thought it was amazing now, wait till he saw the view from the top!! After the last few steps, the fourth year finally made his way to the more sturdy, wooden ground of the treehouse, though he leaned over and reached his arm out for Leo to grab hold onto as the first year made it up too. Then, looking at the younger boy with a wide smile he said, "It's beautiful up here." Okay, okay maybe that line was a bit snort worthy, but still. It really was a sight. Especially from up in the trees.
"This is my favorite place in the entire school," he explained slowly, "But, do you see the lake over there?" he asked pointing towards it. From up in the air it was a bit hard to see through some of the bigger surrounding trees, "It's a close second."
Gwen thought a moment. "I'd go visit them. I can only spend so much time with them." Her parents got on her nerves sometimes. But she figured that was what parents did. She smiled big.
Gwen let her legs dangle over the side of the branch. "Nope. The branch is sturdy enough." She reached down her hand so that he could grab on.

She'd only go visit? That was kinda sad, but completely beside the point.. considering ghosts couldn't just visit randomly, could they? Weren't they tied down to an entity? Like... a person, or place? Mehhh, all that logic stuff was hurting his head. NO PHILOSOSISING TODAY! On the other hand, "Are they scary?" he asked, "your parents I mean." Why else would you only want to visit them? It made perfect sense, because then you could just leave or run/glide off when they started telling you off. Maybe they were scary ex-Lions, that'd make sense, Lions had a lot of RAWR to them - for obvious reasons.
"If you say so." The branch WAS sturdy, Gwen was right in her assessment of that. One hand clung to it, while the other reached up to take her hand. Once he was certain the branch and Gwen would hold his weight he pulled himself up.
