At the very bottom of the Headmistress' hidden spiraling staircase and at the head of a long pink carpet sit two, dark gray, stone gargoyles. The ugly but enormous stone statues keep out those who do not belong.... or those who are not welcome.
You shall not pass this way without a password.

Okay, according to her hinky little map she'd found (not a certain magical map), this was where the Headmistress' office was. Only, there was no door. Only a pair of ugly old gargoyles. Maybe they were guarding the door? Did one of them have a knocker somewhere? No? Then what was she supposed to do?!
Heather settled on knocking on the wall beside the gargoyles, then speaking to them directly. "Excuse me, but could you tell Headmistress Truebridge that a student wishes to speak with her, please?" There. Hopefully, that worked.

Samantha wanted to discuss career options with the headmistress. Professor Flamsteed had inspired her so now was as good a time as any. She walked up to the gargoyles and stopped dead in her tracks. What was the password? She said to the gargoyles, "I need to speak with the Headmistress, please."

After removing his personal disillusionment charm, Pierson caaasually made his way to the Headmistress' office, occasionally patting his pocket to keep the papers in place.
The charms professor stepped up to gargoyles. "I need to speak with the Headmistress immediately." She knew why.

Before she could investigate further, Heather was joined by another girl and shortly after her, Professor Fuller. Who had basically done what she had. So, that was the way they worked. Then why wasn't....
Oh there she was. And what?! "But I was he-" But the Headmistress had disappeared before she could get her protest out. Sigh. But she would wait right here, because what she had to say was important. What if the head case Head Girl went postal and started cursing everyone?

A few minutes after he had gone up the stairs, the charms professor came back down. Then he turned to the Gryffindor girl and nodded towards the stairs.
"You can go see the Headmistress now," he announced before nodding to the other student and then walking off. He had to go tell Javy the news.

One had to go along the wall by the gargoyles, like ....ALL around the walls of the gargoyles. When you lost important things you had to let the head of your school know 'cause see, if the Headmistress knew then they could probably strategize some kind of search party up in her office until they found it. Between the two of them they could canvas the whole area, leave no stone unturned. The Headmistress was busy, Lex couldn't wait for her to come down to talk this through so.....sticking a couple along the walls as said before.
Not many, just maybe five of them placed in such a way you couldn't miss them.--one stuck to one of the gargoyles too in case she conveniently didn't notice walls on her way up or down.
Ahem.
She scribbled her name on each at the end, so people who didn't already know her wand and candy bag would know who to contact. There. Her work here was done.

______________________________I'm fired up and tired of the way that things are said.
Having to figure out what she was going to wear was the hardest thing every. The blonde had settled on this outfit. She loved this dress and of course her signature cowgirl boots, she hadn't seen that many people wearing these around the castle. She had never see many people wearing them when she was at Beauxbatons. The necklass the fourth year had one was new, she wasn't the biggest fan of pink but she did like it and her grandmother had sent it to her so she best wear and maybe get a photo with it to prove it to her grandmother. This girl has been slacking on her student duties to make friends with the professors and to welcome the new professors to Hogwarts and to meet the headmistress. Emmylou walked up towards the gargoyles, she had asked Bay where the headmistresses office was located and she had given her a pretty good description. Emmylou was very thankful for Bay being her best friend. This Gryffindor was was little nervous to meet the headmistress because she was the most important person in this whole school and she had forgotten to meet her last year. She would have to apologize to her as soon as possible.
Last term Emmylou hadn't even gotten to know some of the professors or the headmistress so now she had to pick up where she left off. The headmistress was second on her list because she didn't know what to wear to meet her. She had to take a break from meeting the other professors to find the perfect outfit to meet the headmistress. Emmy wondered if the woman was nice, she was curious because she had heard some good things and bad things about this woman and really she wanted to find out for herself. It wasn't really her fault because last year was her first year at Hogwarts, she just felt overwhelmed and with all that wintery craziness going on and one of her best friends getting attacked she just couldn't even bare the thought of trying to forget about what was going on around her and visit anyone. Now she just figured that she had to wait right here because she didn't know what else to do. This being her second year here she was still getting lost and didn't know that much about the castle.

Distraught. That was the only word that could accurately describe how Puck felt right now, she had food in her hair…it was a waste of edible food but not only that it was it was just gross. So gross. HER HAIR, she loved her hair.’
”my haaaaaaair” she whined once more as she ran her hand through her hair. She was practically crying as she peeled chunks of the pureed fruit out of her hair. ”I-I don’t know – do we just wait until the headmistress sees us? Or yell something at the gargoyle?” She questioned and glanced over to Eden her eyes wide in shock.
”I’ll wait…I’ll wait…my haaaaaaair” she whimpered again and she finally realized the second part of Eden's question. "I'm fine...at least I wasn't thrown off the plank...wh-when I left people were trying to lock Flamsteed in the closet..." she whimpered again and ran her hand through her again. "Someone got food in my hair, you escaped the room before the food fight started" she chewed her lip and looked at the Gargoyle statues.

Annie was on her way back to her office after nipping out to Hogsmeade for lunch with her son, and curiously enough had found tons of these same fliers around the school. After reading the first few, she realized why the bag in the picture looked so familiar. It was Alexa's, the one she had taken. Harrrumph.
With a snort, the Headmistress had started tugging down the fliers and now had a stack in her hand as she came back to her office. She would RETURN the bag once the girl apologized to her. There was no need to paste these passive-aggressive signs all around the castle, Merlin forbid.
But oh, what was this now? A small gathering outside her gargoyles?
".......can I help you?" the Headmistress pursed her lips and crossed her arms at the girls, tucking the fliers behind one elbow.

Penelope had escaped from the astronomy lesson just before the food fight started. She was distraught over the troubling events in the astronomy lesson, but somehow she had managed to survive. After sneaking away from the astronomy class, she had followed the other girls who had escaped from the astronomy lesson to the headmistress' office.

This was an emergency. Something had to be done about Captain Hook and the rest of the astronomy class. Where was-? Headmistress Truebridge was here! Penelope'e eyes were red from crying, and tears were streaming down her face. Trembling and trying to stop hyperventilating for long enough to talk to the headmistress, Penelope stepped forward to speak. "Headmistress Truebridge! You've got to help us! Professor Flamsteed has gone completely mad- even worse than usual! He thinks he's a pirate! Students are being locked in the closet a-and the whole class has turned in to a big food fight." She was having trouble explaining everything in her distressed state, but she tried to inform the headmistress of the situation. Moving closer to the Headmistress, the distraught girl grabbed one of the Headmistress' arms. She was not going to let go until the Headmistress did something to help them. "Please help, he might throw someone out out the window of the astronomy tower if you don't come." Penelope felt kind of dizzy, and she was still hyperventilating and shaking and crying. They needed to help all of those people who were trapped in astronomy class with Captain Hook, but she would need to calm down first. Most of the astronomy lessons she had attended had not gone well for her, but not even the bubbles had caused her to panic this much.

Samantha cleared her throat. "Headmistress, I'd like it if you could help discuss future career options with me," she said with her voice being quietened thanks to a touch of nervousness.
“My hair” Puck whimpered once more as the Headmistress asked how she could help. No, no this was not why she was here. She was here because she needed to complain to whine and cry and vent about Professor going off the Planksteed’s actions.
When she heard Penelope's words she snapped back into the moment and looked with panic stricken eyes over to Headmistress Truebridge. “He threw Pebbles at people” she practically whimpered. The girl was broken. Her sass had been tapped out of her like someone had used a spiel to drain her essence from her.
“Me” she piped up again, “he lifted me up by his hook? and threw me in the closet…with spiders,” Puck was whimpering again. “and there is apple in my hair…pureed food fight” she felt her eyes widening even more. She knew the one word she couldn’t say was he threw my clock off the tower that would be incriminating. “He also bit Declan Hazlewood” she interjected once more.
Mental. HE was mental. "When I left new Smee and Boatswain were trying to throw him into the closet...the closet he threw me into" she muttered.

Oookay, what was this now. What was this. Were these children mad? No? Their stories did corroborate, so far, and the Gryffindor DID have something like applesauce in her hair. So apparently Flamsteed WAS mad --- or as the girl said, EVEN WORSE THAN USUAL.
Could she get that in writing?
"Take me to him," the redhead decided at once. "I must see this for myself." Why was he locking children in the closet though? Even if he were Captain Hook... Captain Hook... wasn't he the guy on the bottles of -- er, never mind, that was a different captain.
Wait, she had another idea! "One of you," she pointed between them, "should go get Romanos." She would know what to do with Flamsteed, yes? Because dating? Whatever. "And the other of you, tell me the whole story from the top. Did he start class by acting crazy? Did it happen in the middle of the class? Tell me everything." They could explain on the way up to the Astro tower, as she was already striding in that direction.

Thank Merlin the headmistress was going to come to the astronomy tower with them. Calming down a bit, Penelope let go of the headmistress' arm. Truebridge seemed unsurprised to her that Professor Flamstted had gone mad. Flamsteed often seemed crazy, but this was far beyond his usual madness. Get Romanos? Penelope looked at the other girl (Puck), who had clearly been in the astrophysics laboratory longer than she had, and therefore would be able to explain more to the Headmistress. "I'll get Romanos!" As the headmistress started in the direction of the astronomy tower, Penelope went off to find Professor Romanos.
Okay, so Penelope was going to get Romanos…that was good. Because Puck could probably answer more of the questions about when Professor Flamsteed went a bit crazy. Right. “I can l-lead you to him” Puck stammered out her eyes still wide with shock.
“Well it started after my dorm mate Heather found a book in the common room and looked at it…” she started to weave the tale, “it was glowing actually the book glowed, Professor Flamsteed was actually reading a bit of it when it giggled and disappeared” she shrugged her shoulder. See. Books don’t giggle. She knew that.
“After it disappeared he started changing becoming less and less like Flamsteed and more hook like – actually” she scrunched her nose as she thought back to the day as she hadn’t really been active in the common room then. Just had been leaning on pride and scoping out the happenings. “He kind of yelled about someone fighting him…yelled about bad form – which he said in class a lot…and he yelled some more” yeah she hadn’t been the best at paying attention but that, that she had remembered. “He was batty all class actually, I mean he was dressed as Captain Hook, oh and he called himself Jas Hook.”
That had been weird. “He was a bit rude to the kid who thinks he’s Aladdin…but Aladdin kid helped me out of the closet that was called the boo box” she shrugged her shoulder and chewed her lip slightly.
Nerves. Nerves nerves.
“He yelled Bad form a lot in class…called Headgirl…new Smee, and he was yelling at everyone telling them to eat the ice cream…people didn’t want to eat it for some reason” she was there, at the part of the story that could change the entire meaning. “Someone…err, I kind of wanted to test if it was an act? So I conjured a clock…one that had wheels and set it to tick-and-tock around the room…he freaked out” shaaarp breaths. “Then when he told Alexa to throw it off the plank he walked over to me picked me up by the back of my robes with his hook and threw me in the closet – I don’t know much other than that…but the Aladdin kid was soon there in the closet with his hand over my mouth directing me to crawl out of the closet…oh and Declan Hazelwood was in the closet too rambling about how he bit his fingers” she wouldn’t forget the look on the poor kids face.
Her voice was becoming more confident less frightened…and…apples, “he taught a spell that pureed food and we were forced to throw it at each other…I didn’t hear the spell cause, I was in the closet but someone got food in my hair when I was coming here with Eden” she whimpered a bit. Her hair. It was her favorite feature next to her practically patented red lipstick. “he killed my clock” she added as a final thing…because her clock had gone off the plank. “I don’t know if he threw anyone off the plank…he had a list of people to walk it though,” she shuddered some more at the thought of being forced to walk off of a seventh floor tower.

Eden sighed and stood up, glancing at her hair..."This will come out, don't worry, okay, Puck?" she asked, and she would even help her wash it all out if needed. Poor dear. She had been LOCKED in a flippin' CLOSET.
Ugh.
And then another girl showed up--she recognized her from her own house, and Eden gave her a small smile. "Unfortunate for us to have to meet under such TERRIBLE circumstances--" she said to the girl. "But I'm Eden--" she introduced here. Not prudent, no, but...oh well. Eden wasn't a very prudent person.
YIKES.
The HEADMISTRESS was here and everything she heard was right--from head to toe, this woman was SCARY. She was PRETTY, okay, but SCARY. Her hard eyes and her EXPRESSION. Eden practically melted right now. She watched Penelope run off to get Professor Romanos--yes, the Dark Arts professor was SOOOOOOO needed right now. PROFESSOR FLAMY WAS GOING CRAY. "Not to mention, Headmistress, that he LOCKED Puck in a closet--ABUSE! That's HORRIBLE! How did he become a teacher?!" she asked, widening her eyes. "I transferred from Durmstrang--" she bit her lip. "And--and--I am SO scared that I may just want to go back!" It was all bluff. She had made too many friends here, now, to just go back to Durm...."I just--I was so appalled and scared--You have to set him right!" She said. "What if he PUSHES SOMEONE OUT THE WINDOW?" She flailed her arms around a bit.

Annie was on her way back to her office after nipping out to Hogsmeade for lunch with her son, and curiously enough had found tons of these same fliers around the school. After reading the first few, she realized why the bag in the picture looked so familiar. It was Alexa's, the one she had taken. Harrrumph.
With a snort, the Headmistress had started tugging down the fliers and now had a stack in her hand as she came back to her office. She would RETURN the bag once the girl apologized to her. There was no need to paste these passive-aggressive signs all around the castle, Merlin forbid.
But oh, what was this now? A small gathering outside her gargoyles?
".......can I help you?" the Headmistress pursed her lips and crossed her arms at the girls, tucking the fliers behind one elbow.
Emmylou looked up at the headmistress. She was so pretty! Well she had never see her this close up before but she had seen her at the feast and stuff but she never really got to talk to her at all. "I never got to formally meet you last term and I though better late than never?" Did that sound good? Hmmm. Emmylou hoped that it sounded alright.

...okay, just a polite student then. What a rare encounter! Bunz turned her smirk at that thought into more of a smile and held her hand out to the Gryffindor. "Well then, it's nice to meet you. And your name is...?" She could commit this one to memory. The girl was a snazzy dresser, after all.

Emmylou sighed in relief, this made her seem a lot better and also made her wonder why people thought this lady was mean or scary because she wasn't scary at all. Maybe she was strict but being strict wasn't scary. Her father is strict and she wasn't afraid of her own father. Emmylou beamed and shook the headmistresses hand back. "It's really nice to meet you too. My names Emmylou Duchannes." She was happy to meet this woman it was an honor of sorts.

The fourteen year old nodded with a big smile on her face. There was nothing to be afraid of and besides maybe the headmistress can help her out with her dream to become a professor and how to start out. It would be a really big help to her. Emmylou knew that it was still a long ways until she had to think about a job or a career but that didn't matter to this fourth year because she always wanted to find out what it's really like to be a professor or even a headmistress. "I'm a fourth year. Yes, ma'am. I went to Beauxbatons for my first and second years." She was going to add in Gryffindor but she had a feeling the woman already knew that. "I love it a lot more than Beauxbatons. Everyone here is great, the students and the professors. I feel like I can go to the professors and ask them questions without having to think really." That made sense, right? She felt like she just couldn't ask any questions at Beauxbatons like she could here.
