Kyroh didn't KNOW how to check peoples wands for spells. He was only thirteen after all, and he wasn't a genius or anything.

Him dying wasn't in his dream? Kyroh glanced around completely confused now. But.....it looked like he was in a hallway. Not the road. Hallway...yeah he had come here to rest! His eyes fell back on the boy. Boy....ghost? HE was a ghost TOO? "You don't LOOK like a ghost?" He looked solid....."So were you driving the bat mobile?" And he was driving and crashed into him and they BOTH died?

Didn't the boy know that Kyroh was NOT allowed to die? Raising his hand Kyroh punched the boy in the leg.

HIS HAND DIDN'T GO THROUGH HIM!

Honestly what was up with this kid? He really looked like he'd just entered some different dimension and couldn't understand why he was there. Devlin squinted his eyes at the little one, trying to decipher if he was being serious or playing a joke on the slytherin. A kid's imagination was hard to deal with.

"You don't look like a ghost either, but hey, here we are. No judging." And that was a demand, not a suggestion. What. Was. He. Going. On. About. There came a lot of head shaking from Devlin. He was trying to trick the boy into thinking he was a ghost, which sort of worked, but he asked so many questions the plan could slowly falter. And now he was bringing in crazy conclusions like a bat mobile? "Driving the bat mobile? What? What's that? Nothing in here drives. Things, broomsticks only float."

AND WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT FOR? Not that the punch hurt much but it was completely unexpected so it caught Devlin off guard.

"Why'd you PUNCH me!? Didn't do nothing to you." Explanation, now.

Nononoonon, EVERYTHING ELSE THE BOY HAD SAID WAS IGNORED. Kyroh GLARED at him. Why did he punch him? Wasn't it obvious? The thirteen year old pushed himself off the ground so he could be FACE TO FACE with the other boy.

.....Though it wasn't really face to face considering the fact that he had yet to break 5 foot. "You're not a GHOST, you're a LIAR"

What what what? What was going on now? Devlin was now actually annoyed. This kid had called him a liar. Maybe his words were a bit true, but Devlin hadn't completely lied. So, the kid was half smart.

"I'm not a liar. Ok, wait. Well, yes, I did lie about the ghost bit..." Why was Devlin even talking back to this kid? He was less than half the size he was. There was no reason for him to get riled up over something as silly as this. "But do not call me a complete liar. I didn't kill you, that's the truth, I admitted that this whole conversation. If thats what you can call this."

And the kid could definitely get that rude look off his face. Devlin would appreciate that very much. It made the kid look silly, he probably hoped it made him look tougher or something. "Did you have too much sugar earlier or something?" How'd the conversation even start like this?

Yet, here he stood still talking to this kid with a crazy imagination that was now accusing Devlin of being a liar. He was only doing this to himself.

Botros stepped down from the moving staircase, still holding Sophie's hand as if she was five and expecting the rest of their group to be holding hands as well. He didn't want to lose any kid, and he most importantly didn't want to run after any kid. "Okay, did any of you kids see the book before?" He asked, starting to make his way sloooooowly into the corridor. "If you spot anything odd, anything glowing, do not approach, just tell me." Okay? Okay. "You can let go of each other's hands now." He let go of Sophie's. They could cover more ground this way.

Let's go WHATTEAM!!

When they had left the library, Adi had grabbed Sophie's hand. Er...she had been okay with that right? Anyway, this Hufflepuff meant no harm. Hehe.

But here they were now, at the fifth floor. Adi nodded at he question. "Yes, Professor. I saw it at the Hufflepuff common room.'' He glanced at Kace, wondering if the other boy had been around at that same time when the book had appeared.

At Botros's word, Adi away broke of from the group to take up the search. Come out, come out wherever you are, mysterious book.

Hand-holding was lots of fun, Soph always liked it with Tobes, but in THIS setting with a professor holding one hand and her other connecting the rest of the student chain, it was a little strange. Like they were ducklings following along with their mama duck and if they let go they were going to lose the group and never be seen again. It DID give her a weird sense of security, though, and like they were a TEAM and a UNIT instead of individuals, so... Soph wasn't going to break that chain until Botros said it was okay to do so.

And when he did, she let go, smiling all the while. They had a GREAT team, for sure. The best. WILDCATS.

Just to add the level of security back that dwindled when they let go of each other's hands, Soph slipped her wand from its holster and gripped it tightly in her hand. Better to be safe than sorry, wasn't it?

"I didn't see it before, no. Well... not close up. But if it glows and appears and disappears at will, shouldn't be too hard to distinguish it from any other book, should it?" she laughed uncertainly, venturing her own way down the corridor to see if she could find such a book. Wasn't there some sort of cool magic they could use to find this thing? "Has someone tried summoning it?" Juuuust curious. Or was that unwise?

Kace made his way with the group to go Book hunting. So they were finally gonna get the fairytale book once and for all. He was with Adi, Jasmine, Bostros and Eden. They made a great team. As they were exploring the fifth floor corridor, Kace kept his eyes peeled for the book. He only seen it twice so he had a clear description of it. He heard Adi say he saw it in the common room and he looked at him. Kace shook his head and replied, "I haven't really been in the common room lately so I haven't seen it.." he told his fellow puff.

But then he remembered seeing it last at the fireworks festival. "I saw it last at the fireworks festival and Lux grabbed it. That was the last time I had seen it.." he thought out loud. He heard Jasmine's suggestion and nodded. "Yeah can the book be summoned or does it have like something so it can't be summoned?" he asked to all of them.

Eden was not a fan of hand holding. Even if she WAS last in the chain and was holding KACE'S hand--so at least it was a friend. Still. She let go of his hand as quickly as she could and wiped it on her robe.

Right.

SIGH.

She just glanced around the corridor. Sophie. Adi--that prefect bloke--and Kace. They made a good team. Sophie was smaaaaart. Kace was nice and worked well with others--Adi haaaaad to have good traits since he was prefect--and Eden had eyes so that was a talent.

Right?

"I've seen it in Divination--once--it made a minor appearance--" she said softly at Professor Botros. "It glowed--and--and--it kind of moves around. By itself. But not like it has legs but--it seems to--flop." Was she making it up? She couldn't remember well at all...ugh. Her cheeks were blushing because she wasn't sure if she was being dumb...or not.

She felt really dumb, though. Oops.

Well, the majority of them seemed to had seen the book at least once, that was good. Botros shook his head at the summoning idea, "It didn't work. It obviously has an enchantment that gives it a 'mind' of its own, so-to-speak. Like the others mentioned back in the library, the book appeared and disappeared in many and random places." The professor continued to walk with his group in the corridor, looking into every nook and behind every corner.

They could ask the portraits, too, if necessary. Though they were too high up, nobody could've seen the book wandering around.

If a Summoning Charm could have worked on that book, things would have been so much easier. Not that Adi was complaining. It would have just meant less chances of the book spreading its evilness around.

Anyway. Kace hadn't noticed the book in the Common Room then. Seemed like that book just kept popping up EVERYWHERE. But back to searching. Adi continued moving down the corridor, walking slowly because he was taking his time to examine every bit. The floor, the wall, even the ceiling.

If that book was anyway around, there was no way it was going to get away from this group.

Sophie gave a shrug at Botros' rejection of the summoning charm idea. "Thought I'd ask. Sometimes people look past the obvious ways to go 'bout things just 'cause they ARE so obvious, y'know?" Trying to analyze the situation from all sides and all.

She hummed thoughtfully to herself as they went, peeking into the various rooms as they passed while reflecting on what other ways they might be able to track this thing down other than just walking around the school hoping to get lucky. If runes would've helped, she was certain Botros would've already worked at that idea, and... there was no pattern to the book's movement, was there? The book wasn't attracted just to certain places or to certain people? It seemed entirely random, which was no help at all. They couldn't even send someone out as bait to a common place for it to appear and hope the book showed itself.

"S'weird that a book can... 'think,'" she used her fingers to do quotation marks in the air, "so independently for itself. Magic is so weird sometimes." And that was coming from a pureblood.

Wonder how it got to the school at all, though? They wouldn't keep such a manipulative book in the library, would they, even in the restricted section? Soph didn't think so. So... Merlin, did that mean someone had brought the book to school with them?

She hoped not. But if someone DID, she was all game for accusing Cutty Mordaunt of being the likely hooligan.

Kace heard Sophie's valid argument about using the summoning charm and it was a smart idea. People did look over the obvious things. They usually want to go for the complicated ways. He looked around and saw the portraits and wondered if he could ask them but he was gonna check with the Professor first. "Professor have you considered asking the portraits?" he used his pointer finger and pointed to the portrait wayy up high. Ah well what did he have to lose. He asked the painting anyways.

"Excuse me!" he called out to the portraits. "Have you seen this glowing fairy tale book around here?" I mean it was worth a shot right?

Pop!

The tiniest of disturbances accompanied the appearance of an alluring tome. A soft giggling noise also escaped from the book. Summoning charm? Silly humans, the Fairy Tale Book of Fairy Tales could not be summoned upon every human's little whim! It emitted a bright glow of amusement for a second.

No, these humans could wait a little bit longer.

In the blink of an eye, the book vanished.

Ahh. Yeah, Eden wasn't surprised that a summoning charm didn't work. Too easy, eh? She grumbled to herself about dumb books and their DUMB ulterior motives because UGH.

She did glanced at Sophie. "I don't put it past anything in the magical world to have it's own mind--" she said with a sooooft chuckle. It was all very fascinating and whatnot. But the book needed a serous therapy session because clearly it was MEAN, okay?

Eden refused to talk to portraits. She'd leave that to the friendly Kace--and then--rather suddenly--Eden heard it. Somewhere faar off--a giggle. WHO WAS GIGGLING. Eden shot off in that direction---but by the time it stopped---there was nothing. The brunette tilted her head in confusion--"Okay--PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOMEONE HEARD THAT?"

She hoped so. She didn't want to be crazy! ;__;

Walking, stopping, examining...Adi was doing it all. But so far he had come up with nothing. He noticed Kace was already interrogating...not really...ASKING the portraits about the book and he figured he should do the same on his end.

He was about to address the first portrait he came upon when he heard it. A giggling. It was faint but he heard it well, alright. Adi craned his neck in various directions, trying to figure out where it was coming from.

Apparently the Puffer was not the only one who heard it. "I heard it too,'' Adi confirmed to the brunette.

As Kace was asking the portraits and waiting for their answer, he heard a giggling sound in the distance. He thought he must have heard something but as he heard Eden ask if anyone heard it....maybe he wasn't crazy at all! He turned around and saw the book vanished.

"THERE I JUST SAW IT!" Kace pointed to where the book was. He looked at Eden and nodded calmly, "You were not crazy I think the book likes to play jokes on us.." he said getting angry the book was playing games. He was glad Adi heard it too. He wondered if the portraits were gonna answer but they seemed to be lost in their own little world.

Kace trying to ask the portraits if they had seen the book was really pretty funny, and Soph did her best to control herself and not laugh aloud. Even if any of the portraits HAD seen the book... it wouldn't have really mattered, would it? Since the book came and went as it pleased and didn't seem to stay in one place for very long?

...But then it was there. She SAW the glow out of the corner of her eye just as she went to stick her head inside another room along the way, but she whipped around and pointed her wand accusingly at the glowing source. Was... it... LAUGHING at them? Like it was MOCKING them? Merlin. What a sassy thing.

Her eyes narrowed in displeasure, though the glow was kind of... enchanting... but then before anything else could happen, the book was gone. Just like that.

Mellow. "I saw it, too." Only for a second, but it had BEEN THERE. "I think it's mocking us." Rude of it, really.

Magic is weird, Botros was chuckling to Sophie's comment when suddenly the kids got a little wee weird hearing voices and-- WHAT!? "You saw it? Where? Y'know, what, let's go back to the library, we should see if anybody else got it or saw it too." He grabbed the hand of the closest student and looked at the others to hold hands again like five years old's and 'ran' towards the staircase.

"I didn't actually see it, Professor. Just heard it's giggling,'' Adi said looking around at the others. They hadn't seen it too, right? But yeah, best get back to the Library. Hopefully the other search parties would have had better luck. Adi followed the old Professor, still glancing about just in case that book was lurking...

Oh... OH. They were going back to the library ALREADY? Merlin. Soph was conflicted - she trusted Botros' judgment wholly and fully and thought he was incredibly wise, but she didn't actually agree with his choice of action and didn't see what good it did to go back to the library already to report their findings when they KNEW it was out and about and they COULD keep looking and hope to catch it around.

Buuuuut, before she could voice her protest, Botros was starting their chain of hand-holding and hurrying off.

Sigh.

Latching onto Adi's hand and offering her other to Eden or Kace, she hurried off along to the library with the group, reflecting upon how WEIRD this whole school was the whole way.

Down and down through the castle he went, keeping an eye out for any clues along the way. One thing about his wings was that they gave off glitter when you moved while wearing them, and sometimes ended up doing so when you just carried them about. But Toby was trying very hard NOT to look for any glitter trails, because that wasn't supposed to be the method of finding them again, so he kept his gaze aWAY from the floor.

When he reached the fifth floor, Toby figured it would be a good time to just check he was on the right path, and held up his crystal again. After waiting for it to hang quite still (or, as still as it was going to get), he spoke to it.

"Am I getting closer?"

Concentrate Toby, concentraaaaaaaaate. The Hufflepuff fixed that question in his mind and focused very hard on his wings in his mind's eye, waiting for a response.

The crystal moved... in circles? It wasn't a HUGE amount of movement, but Toby THOUGHT it looked like little circles rather than going back and forth. That was enough for him, so he lowered the crystal again and hurried on down the corridor and off to the staircase, hoping that it would give him a direct route straight to the ground floor at this time of day.
