Despite having been displaced from the greenhouses, the plants were fairing much better within the castle walls, so she wouldn't be complaining. In addition to this, it meant she could stay longer for breakfast and still make it to class well ahead of time. It still wasn't warm, within the room off the Great Hall, but it was considerably better than the damaged greenhouses, offering them some protection from the elements.
The long room had been set up specifically for the lesson. A long table, much like the ones found in the Great Hall, has been moved into the centre and placed at intervals behind them were a number of medium to large pots, and barrows of potting mix. On the table are four boxes containing seeds. The boxes aren't labeled, so only time would reveal their contents... unless you're particularly apt at identification.
Standing at the head of the table - with a blank blackboard positioned behind her, Seren slipped on her new gloves and waited patiently for the students to arrive. Tick, tock.
OOC: The lesson has started. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment.

Sophie thought she had the incantation down pat now, but only time would tell. It was a tongue-twister, and she found herself wondering why whoever invented that charm would make it so hard to say. MERLIN. At least the wand movement was somewhat simple. The hard put was remembering what to do while also saying Parveus Minori Minimus.
So what was the wand movement again?
Okay, so three anti-clockwise circles. That was easy. She raised her wand and one...two...three. Pausing, she looked at her wand. Wait. She'd gone in a clockwise direction. BOOO. She sighed and raised her wand again. One...two...three circles, all in an anti-clockwise direction.

Anti clockwise? That was an odd way to say counterclockwise, but ah well. He got what she meant and that was what mattered!
Taking out his wand, he practiced the three counter clockwise circles, which was pretty self explanatory and super easy. They were just circles after all!
The hard part would be doing the incantation too, cause that was a mouthful.
One two three...one two three...easy enough.

Bonsai Charm
- Parveus Minori Minimus
- Three small anti-clockwise circles
- Will reduce the size of the target flora and its pot permanently
He needed to do three small anti-clockwise circles. He did a spin clockwise while he looked at the clock in the classroom. Alright now to do it the reverse way. He got that down. He felt confident now! He probably could do it. He cleared his mind and then said, "Parveus Mino Minimus!" and then his tree branches were sprouting out unevenly.
O___O
Uh....maybe he mispronounced it. He raised his hand and said, "Professor what do I do with uneven branches? Do I have to start all over?"
.. it was a mistake that was bound to happen, and it did. "You could start over..." she considered, "or you could simply embrace its lopsided and uneven nature, love it for what you made it."
It was his choice in the end, but the bonsai would still have its life.

She looked around. The teacher had said they could practice on weeds. Where would she find one? There were plenty of plants there, Anna walked among them searching for an intruder, any ugly weed helping itself with potting mix and warming itself hidden under the shadow of a good plant. The Hufflepuff girl found a suspicious plant beside a mandrake.
"A-ha", she gave it an icy glare, and then pointed her wand at the weed, waving it three small anti-clockwise circles, pronouncing the incantation. The weed shrank and shrank and then vanished.
"Oh my! What did I do?" She peered under the mandrake's shadow and found the weed there; at least she thought that tiny green leaf was the weed. "So it works."
Anna turned on her heels and rushed at her workstation, look at her Enchanting Elm and said in a dangerous tone of voice, "your turn, my baby!"
She breathed deeply and repeated the incantation, "Parveus Minori Minimus!".
The tall tree shrank until a small and charming Bonsai. "I can't huge you anymore, my baby, but now I can kiss you and I'll love you forever!" she said, kissing the small tree and opening her well-known wide smile.
"Professor Bentley, thank you for everything and I beg you forgive my bad mood. I didn't mean... I really love trees and will love this one forever. I just have a couple of questions before going, Muggle Bonsais have to being cut from time to time. Do we have to repeat the spell too? My last question is - this tree is good for wand making, if I tear apart one of this little branches and give it to a wand-maker, he or she would be able to make a tiny wand to use as a key chain?" Annabeth grinned.
OOC: Emily, it was hard to me to find time to RP this term, but it always a pleasure to join you and your class. Very creative plot! I hope you are enjoying your trip, Italy is amazing!
The Hufflepuff was making inroads in the subject. Then again, the fact that she had spoken out of turn had been a once-off... hopefully. At any rate, it seemed out of character, and considering this, it made her feel more remorseful of the fact that she'd scolded her so harshly. Whoops.
"I think it's safe to say we can both forget that ever happened.." yes? yes? could they? And as for all the questions...
"There's no need to repeat, the charm is permanent, it will stay in its current size until the day it dies..." whenever that would be, hopefully with the freezing conditions it wouldn't perish sooner rather than later. "As for a miniature wand... I'm sure it could be fashioned into something of a sort, minus the power of an actual wand, of course." That would also require a core, and wand making was a craft without imposing minuscule size restrictions.

I love my bonsai." With that, she left the room and headed back to her Common Room.
It was nice to hear the lesson was a hit with the Ravenclaw, it was a nice way to end the lesson.
"So glad you like it, and as always, you're very welcome."
Seren continued to move about the room, inspecting and watching with amusement as the students completed the task. Excellent work, excellent work indeed... they were all so very diligent. And Cambridge... she just couldn't stop at one, could she? Such an eager beaver, and so very talented at Herbology. Seren beamed with pride. The girls greediness could be overlooked, all things concerned.
"Alright everyone! Finish what you're doing, then out, out, out! Or you'll be late to your next class."
And heavens forbid that they lose some points..
OOC: Thanks for playing everyone! I'll enter points whenever I have time to get around to it, but that may be in 2 weeks time. I will also post homework sometime in the next 24 hours. <3
