The prefects have their own compartment at the front of the train. Sometimes they hold meetings up here and sometimes special guests ride along with them.
Prefects only, please, unless you have been invited in or need assistance!

"Via the fireplace, too," Which wasn't as nearly as good as the mirror but she had ideas, too, you know.
"I do hope to stay alive and safe," Her safety was precious like everyone knew. "I'd rather wait for the epic things for our time together," It was better to have two people in an epic adventure than one person. It wouldn't even be epic if you didn't have someone close with you. Even this walk was more interesting because she wasn't alone. Though, they were getting closer to the prefects' compartment and it was about to end.
Good, that was what she wanted to hear. She would hate to know that Alexa wouldn't be enjoying here year for whatever reason it was. "I never do," Underestimate her that is. If anything she did want to show Lex that even if someone left the school it wouldn't be the same yet it didn't mean it got worse. Fun was always there to be had. "As much as that sounds tempting I don't think I can sit through another lesson or face the uncertainty of whatever is going on in this unfortunate castle," Especially when she had been preparing herself that those last lessons were her last and all.
Once they'd gotten inside the Compartment, Lex let Felix fall lightly to his feet then take his pick of the seats. No one would mind surely...otherwise they'd have been here to take their own seats. Where were they anyway? "There's another idea. That one would have to be late nights though on account of how loud the lions can get." She'd be forced to hurt one if they made it difficult for her to hear her bestfriend, just saying.
Snort, Alive and safe. Lex found herself smiling even as she flopped on to one of the seats. "You haven't changed much since we met, you know that?" Back in her first year Cassia had taken to warning her about her safety when it came to the man eating plant and now leaving, it was still high up on her list of things. "You have a knack for staying safe, I'll give you that, so I'm sure you'll be safe, alive....and bored." She added the last bit with a teasing grin. No doubt Cassia knew how to have fun, but it was nice to know it wouldn't be too much fun til Lex got there.
The Gryffindor laughed at the reasoning behind Cassia not planning to repeat the year. "Can't blame you for that. Lucky you never having to sit through another Arithmancy lesson." The summer was welcomed for many reasons. A break from classes being one of them. Of course it didn't prevent the summer homework but who cared? She had two months to get it all done. Cassia didn't have to get anything done. "So you know I'm taking my homework with me, you're not getting off free this summer." Nope.

It was getting lame and all but this was the last time she was going to step into this compartment. Yeah, she didn't care about this compartment in particular although it's been cool to be riding in it after watching it from afar for the first years. But what was important now that she had her bestfriend with her and could forget about everything else. She could see the other graduates in here, too.
Or that's what she thought.
The snake blinked at empty compartment and slowly walked in and settled in a seat while listening to Lex. Well, this was odd. But actually now it wouldn't feel too sad to see all the faces that were leaving together. Wasn't like she was never going to see them after this. But back to Alexa. "I would like to listen to the lions being loud. I'm going to miss the noises for sure,"
"Ahem. I got taller," Something she was quite proud of. Though, she knew that wasn't Lex's point. "I do, surprisingly enough it's not that fun to be dead or trapped in a bed in a hospital," And she wasn't going to start talking about pain. See, the more she stayed like that the more she guaranteed a longer life with more adventures. Mhhm. And she would have almost graduated with a record for having not being injured to get into the hospital. But that did happen unfortunately eventually. Not that injured though, so it was still something.
Arithmancy, ew. One of the things she couldn't stand. "I am lucky," She agreed having realized that when sitting through the joint lesson. Homework? Cassia was hoping to never head this word again. Which probably wasn't likely to happen. But maybe it didn't matter much since it wasn't hers and there wasn't a deadline for her to stress over. "I suppose I could help." She said leaning back on her seat and stretching her arms out like a cat. "Too bad I can't help with your NEWTs in the library," She added quietly. Eh. Wrong thing to say.

By now the Gryffindor was occupying more of the seat than was socially acceptable. If the others decided to show then she'd haul herself up into a sitting position again but for now she was fine with being sprawled off here. Much comfier for the ride. "Really?" Lex wrinkled her nose a bit as she thought about it. "I don't think I will. They're hardly cooperative when you need enough quiet to learn new curses." But her opinion might have come from the fact she knew she'd be seeing them all when September rolled around.
"Well there's always that saving grace, isn't there?" Growing was the only thing some of the people in the castle did. They got taller but what else? Not true in the case of her best friend but they were only poking fun here. "And the Hospital Wing isn't that bad once you get into the Healer's good books. Make it there and she'll get you chocolate." Not a complete lie, the Healer had given Lex chocolate ones. "Advice I guess you don't need anymore considering...graduation and all...." SIGH.
Hahahaha did Cassia say 'suppose'? No, when she said that it made it sound like there was a chance she could have said 'NO'. "Looks like you'll have to hang on to your textbooks a bit longer. Sucks, huh?" And now Lex had half a mind to take ALL her homework with her....but she wouldn't. No way was she wasting a perfectly good weekend on Hogwarts work. The amused grin dimmed somewhat after her last statement. "Well...I mean....I guess that means I won't have to hang out in the library then..." Trying to remain positive, even if her tone betrayed how she really felt about it.
